Process for the production of a water-absorbent synthetic leather with
non-porous structure The invention relates to a method for producing a
Artificial leather, which is particularly suitable because of its ability to absorb water
is to be found in the shoe industry. Because it's a problem of
Technology, especially the interior of the shoe, so that the human
Foot does not sweat. The previously used products from the plastics industry
did not have this quality. For example, the surface of polyvinyl chloride synthetic leather,
which is often used as a covering material and lining material because of its durability
would not sweat.
The new process provides a product which has these disadvantages
does not have. The procedure is such that a coating composition is produced which
by using different substances after brushing them on any
Documents and, after their solidification, has a structure which absorbs water
works. A product obtained in this way is practically free of pores and therefore not
air permeable. For this purpose, polyvinyl chloride, plasticizers, pigment,
Stabilizers mixed together on known devices; subsequently becomes
the viscosity of this mass is reduced by the addition of gasoline,
that by adding an aqueous solution of casein a practically homogeneous
Distribution results in which the casein particles can no longer be seen microscopically
are.
Perforation, Porenbildung durch Treibmittel u. a. m.A polyvinyl chloride coating interspersed with such finely divided casein particles
has completely different properties than one of the usual coatings that consist of
Polyvinyl chloride, plasticizers, fillers and dyes were made. Latter
is, as is known, extremely hydrophobic. The one loaded with finely divided casein
Polyvinyl chloride layer, on the other hand, is well wetted by water and absorbs the water
within a short time. It can be said to be extremely hydrophilic.
Regardless of this, it still has the valuable mechanical properties
and the good aging resistance of a soft PVC layer. The water absorbency
But the essential thing is what it is used for in one for the shoe interior construction
Artificial leather arrives. Natural leather has and is the same valuable property
has always been the unprecedented role model. The artificial leather industry was already
endeavored for a long time to give their products the same character. One has
but so far always tried to find the comfortable wearing properties of a natural leather
to achieve with artificial leather by making it porous. There are so many
Processes that allow this goal to be achieved, for example mechanical
Perforation, pore formation by blowing agents, etc. m.
In summary, it can be said of the state of the art that today
a whole series of procedures and work measures are known to the relevant technology
is to make synthetic leather porous and permeable to water vapor. It has been variously
also use of the property of high polymer substances swelling in water
made that eruptive water when heated and thereby form pores, for example
in a process for the production of a porous, breathable synthetic leather
Polyvinyl chloride, which consists in the fact that the usual polyvinyl chloride,

can also add hydrophilic, capillary-active fillers to these masses
and propellants can be added. Although this method produces a highly porous one

be, still has the advantage that it is the embossing procedure in the manufacture of artificial leather
endures, but has the disadvantage in common with the older methods that it is only there
Absorbs water where there is a pore. The intermediate bars are not
hydrophilic, so that in physiological terms it is predominantly like a hydrophobic one
Synthetic leather behaves.
aufs feinste verteilen lassen.
In contrast, the invention is based on the knowledge that a physiological
Artificial leather behaves like natural leather and has excellent perspiration absorption capacity
must have a surface in which the hydrophobic webs of the polyvinyl chloride layer
with the hydrophilic particles of the casein must be so divided that
there is no macroscopically recognizable heterogeneity. This is achieved
The effect is that, not as before, those swellable in water or solvents,
high molecular weight substances such as starch and the like, only with a little water or solvents
swells and then added to the polyvinyl chloride paste, but that according to the invention
uses the water-absorbing substances in the form of low-viscosity solutions,
which - unlike the previously used highly viscous pastes - in the polyvinyl chloride layer
Spread it very finely. To achieve this goal it is essential that
the polyvinyl chloride composition according to the invention by dilution with water-insoluble
Non-solvents for polyvinyl chloride, such as. B. gasoline, in its consistency of consistency
the aqueous solution of the hydrophilic substance and that you get together when mixing
the two phases of arranging an emulsifier served to ensure a flawless one
To force emulsification.

which, as stated earlier, is physiologically related to being

100 parts of polyvinyl chloride, 30 parts of titanium dioxide, 60 parts of dioctyl phthalate, 1 part

weitere drei Striche derselben Masse aufgetragen.
After this spread has solidified, the product obtained in this way becomes
