Abstract
The shaft (18) is put upon a last (17), a temporary shell-shaped sole joined to its lower edge and a reference line (25) created. The unit (17, 18) is clamped with hydraulically operated units (20, 21) into a special work station, scanned (33), and the information about the reference line (25) saved in a processing device for later use. The lateral areas are treated in order to prepare a coarse outer surface in a second specialized work station.
