Description
The The invention relates to a component comprising a metallic substrate and an anticorrosive coating comprising a matrix material and embedded therein contains a corrosion inhibitor, wherein the matrix material is separable from the gas phase.
A Corrosion protection coating serves to protect a metallic Substrate from corrosion. Under corrosion, the reaction of a metallic substrate understood with a corrosive medium, the the metallic substrate changes and may affect the function of the component. The reaction is in most cases electrochemical nature, but it can also be chemical or metal-physical Be kind. The latter is based, such as the Zinnpest on Transformations of the crystal lattice and only plays in practice a minor role. The most frequent Type of corrosion is the reaction with atmospheric oxygen, such as the rusting of iron. The only in Germany by corrosion caused damage is estimated at several billion euros.
At the Protection against corrosion is between the active and the passive Distinguished corrosion protection. Passive corrosion protection exists in that the metallic substrate is coated with a corrosion protection coating becomes. In this way, the metallic substrate of shielded from its environment, so that no corrosion-causing substances to its surface can reach. A disadvantage of passive corrosion protection coatings is that the protective effect is deployed only in the places completely covered by the corrosion protection coating are covered. Is this hurt, so can corrosion-inducing Substances to the surface of the metallic substrate and damage the metallic substrate.
Daher werden bei jeder Verletzung vorher verbundene Volumenelemente der Korrosionsschutzbeschichtung getrennt und es entsteht lokal eine neue Oberfläche.such Injuries of the anticorrosive coating can be, for example, hairline cracks, Stretching cracks, flaking, abrasions or porosities. These injuries have in common that when they emerge the anti-corrosion coating tearing up locally and a direct path from the metallic substrate into the environment. Therefore At each injury, previously connected volume elements become the Anti-corrosion coating separated and locally created one new surface.
At the active corrosion protection, however, occurs when parts of the surface of the metallic substrate for the corrosive substances are exposed to an interaction (e.g., a reaction) between the agent used for protection (Corrosion inhibitor) and the metallic substrate to be protected. Active corrosion protection coatings usually also provide a passive protective effect.
„Aktiv" bedeutet in diesem Zusammenhang, dass die Korrosionsinhibitoren mit am Korrosionsprozess beteiligten Substanzen reagieren und diesen dadurch hemmen.corrosion inhibitors are substances that when in contact with a metal by a Corrosive medium can actively delay corrosion or corrosion prevent. "Active" means in this Related to the corrosion inhibitors involved in the corrosion process react and inhibit this.
These For example, inhibitory effect may be due to corrosion inhibitors with the metallic substrate or one during the corrosion process Substance formed a sparingly soluble compound, the Protecting yourself (passive) on the corrosion attack exposed surface of the metallic substrate attaches.
It acts It is usually passive corrosion protection coatings. They therefore have the disadvantage that the metallic substrate to be protected at Violation of the paint or coating as described above is exposed to a corrosion attack.
It is therefore trying to develop coatings, also called active corrosion protection act. Of particular interest are Coatings based on a vapor-deposited matrix material, for example, plasma coatings.

It The object of the present invention was one of a metallic one Substrate existing component with a corrosion protection coating to propose, at a corrosion-inhibiting effect also occurs at the points of the component where the corrosion protection coating is injured.
These Task is achieved by a component according to claim 1 solved, So by a component comprising a metallic substrate and an anti-corrosive coating containing a matrix material and therein embedded contains a corrosion inhibitor, wherein the matrix material generally from the gas phase is separable and matrix material and corrosion inhibitor form separate phases.
The Matrix material may in particular by thermal, plasma, photon, flame, hot filament or laser activated gas phase layer deposition at low pressure, atmospheric pressure or overpressure be deposited.
The Matrix material forms a continuous phase and the corrosion inhibitor a dispersed phase.
Become two different substances within a given total volume mixed, it is then called separate phases, if partial volumes exist in which only one of the substances is present. Is it possible, from any volume element of the mixture made exclusively from a substance, to any other volume element to arrive, which also exclusively from the same substance exists without the path passing through a volume element, the is made of the other substance, it is said that this Fabric forms a continuous phase.
Corresponding is spoken of a dispersed phase when two volume elements exist, which consist of the same substance, and no way between these two volume element that does not pass through Volume element runs, that is made of a different substance. The dispersed phase forming Partial volumes are hereinafter elements of the dispersed phase called.
Dabei zeigtThe Invention will be described by way of example and with reference to the the attached Figures explained in more detail. there shows

Advantageous on a component according to the invention is therefore that the corrosion inhibitor especially in there increased Concentrations are released where the metallic substrate due a violation of the (passive) anti-corrosion coating especially susceptible and is sensitive.
There Water as a corrosion triggering Medium a towering Preferably, the corrosion inhibitor is selected and so embedded in the matrix material that it passes through water or an aqueous one Liquid, that comes into contact with the corrosion inhibitor phase (e.g., in case of violation of the anticorrosion coating), from Removable matrix material is.
Around one possible size Amount of corrosion inhibitor available To make this corrosion inhibitor is preferably selected and embedded in the matrix material that the corrosion inhibitor essentially completely leachable from the corrosion inhibitor phase, if it does (for example, if the corrosion protection coating is damaged) in Contact with water or an aqueous liquid arrives.
It was in own investigations a particularly good washability found when the matrix material forms a continuous phase, the corrosion inhibitor one consisting of a plurality of elements, forms dispersed phase embedded in the continuous phase and the mean maximum spatial Extension of the elements between 10 nm and 50 μm, preferably between 100 nm and 10 μm is.
When Corrosion inhibitors are preferably used substances which, if they are from an aqueous liquid to buffer to a pH value at which the existing Oxide layer on the metal is stable, i. the aqueous liquid the oxide does not dissolve. In this case, there is no significant further oxidation of the metallic substrate, so that the progress of corrosion is inhibited.
Der Korrosionsfortschritt wird so gehemmt.alternative It is preferred to use substances as corrosion inhibitors which with the oxide of the metallic substrate to form a mixed oxide react, which is difficult to dissolve in water is. In this case, the corresponding mixed oxide is formed the metallic substrate or the already existing oxide layer, so that the access of corrosive medium is prevented. The corrosion progress is so inhibited.
- a) to the oxide of the metallic substrate so (eg covalently) are attachable and / or
- b) reduce and / or reduce electrochemical potential differences in the region of the surface of the metallic substrate
- c) form complexes with constituents of the metallic substrate or of the oxide, so that further corrosion is inhibited. The effect especially before zugter corrosion inhibitors based on several of the above mechanisms of action.
Um zu verhindern, dass er ausgewaschen wird, bevor er seine korrosionsinhibierende Wirkung entfalten konnte, liegt seine Löslichkeit in Wasser bevorzugt unter 100 g/l.Around to achieve that in case of violation of the anti-corrosion coating the corrosion inhibitor is dissolved out quickly enough, It is preferred to use a corrosion inhibitor whose solubility in Water at 25 ° C and 1013 hPa (standard conditions) is greater than 1 mg / l. To prevent, that it is washed out before it releases its corrosion Could develop its effect, its solubility in water is preferred below 100 g / l.
A important condition for the effectiveness of a corrosion protection coating is that this one has good adhesion to the substrate. The danger of being caught would be, however For example, given when the corrosion inhibitor outgas would, so that the released gases between the metallic substrate and the anti-corrosion coating. To prevent that, the vapor pressure of the corrosion inhibitor is preferably at standard conditions below 1 hPa. A corrosion inhibitor meeting this condition evaporates even if he is due to a violation of the anti-corrosion coating was released slowly enough.
A Particularly good corrosion-inhibiting effect was for corrosion inhibitors found the salts of an organic acid and an organic or contain inorganic base.
Eine besonders gute korrosionsinhibierende Wirkung wurde in eigenen Untersuchungen erreicht, wenn der Korrosionsinhibitor Phosphate, Silikate, Borate, Chromate, Titanate, Vanadate, Wolframate oder Phosphonate, und/oder Kalium-, Natrium-, Zink-, Barium-, Strontium-, Calcium-, Magnesium-, Mangan-, Kobalt-, Nickel-, Zinn-, Zirkonium-, Aluminium- oder Seltenerdkationen enthielt.A Particularly good corrosion-inhibiting effect was in our own investigations achieved when the corrosion inhibitor phosphates, silicates, borates, Chromates, titanates, vanadates, tungstates or phosphonates, and / or Potassium, sodium, zinc, barium, strontium, calcium, magnesium, Manganese, cobalt, nickel, tin, zirconium, aluminum or rare earth cations contained.
Around to prevent the corrosion protection coating of a component according to the invention even dissolved by water will lose its protective effect in the long term a matrix material whose water solubility at standard conditions is preferred less than 1 mg / l.
Of Furthermore, the matrix material is preferably selected such that by water at most by 5% by volume (based on the mass in the dry state) is swelled, otherwise tensions in the anti-corrosion coating can arise to a replacement lead the same would. In addition it could during drying due to shrinking then shrinking cracks come. Therefore, a matrix material is preferred in which the saturation values the water absorption of the matrix material under standard conditions (23 ° C, 50% relative Humidity, 1013 hPa) below 5% by weight, preferably below 2% by weight. is, based on the mass of the matrix material in the dry state.
In order to be able to use a component according to the invention also at live points, it is provided according to a preferred embodiment that the standard electrical resistance of the matrix material under standard conditions according to DIN 53482 is greater than 10 10 Ω cm, preferably greater than 10 12 Ω cm, particularly preferably greater as 10 14 Ω cm.
For the protection of technical components a corrosion protection coating must not be too thin, since otherwise it can easily be rubbed off. On the other hand, too thick a coating is costly and tends to peel off. The preferred layer thickness for the present invention is between 10 nm and 80 μm, in particular between 100 nm and 50 μm.
With a corrosion protection coating provided inventive components should be frequent with organic solvents cleaned of dirt who the. To prevent that from happening Cleaning operations or when applying solvent-based paints damaged the coating it is preferred that the matrix material in acetone, cyclohexane, Ethanol and toluene solubility of at most 1 possesses mg / l.
The Anti-corrosion coating shows particularly good properties in terms of adhesive strength, when deposited from the gas phase Matrix material is a polymer material, in particular a plasma polymer material is.
- a) is deposited by means of silicon-organic starting materials / precursors and therefore silicon, oxygen, carbon and hydrogen, preferably in the following atomic number proportions: silicon between 10 atomic percent and 35 atomic percent, oxygen between 5 atomic percent and 67 atomic percent, carbon between 5 atomic percent and 60 atomic percent and - hydrogen between 0 atomic percent and 65 atomic percent.
- b) is deposited by means of hydrocarbon-containing starting materials and therefore comprises carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, more preferably in the following atomic number proportions: carbon between 33 atomic percent and 99 atomic percent, hydrogen between 1 atomic percent and 67 atomic percent and oxygen between 0 atomic percent and 30 atomic percent.
Zusätzlich zu Silizium, Sauerstoff, Kohlenstoff und Wasserstoff können auch Stickstoff und/oder Halogene, insbesondere Fluor im plasmapolymeren Matrixmaterial enthalten sein.in this connection are "atomic percent" of the respective percentage Proportion of the atoms of a given chemical element in the total number all atoms (here: the plasma polymer material). In addition to Silicon, oxygen, carbon and hydrogen can also Nitrogen and / or halogens, in particular fluorine in the plasma polymer Be contained matrix material.
Zur Herstellung erfindungsgemäßer Bauteile wird vorzugsweise ein erfindungsgemäßes Verfahren eingesetzt, bei dem das Matrixmaterial und der Korrosionsinhibitor so auf das metallische Substrat aufgebracht werden, dass der Korrosionsinhibitor in das Matrixmaterial eingebettet wird und Matrixmaterial und Korrosionsinhibitor separate Phasen bilden.to Production of components according to the invention Preferably, a method according to the invention is used, in the matrix material and the corrosion inhibitor so on the metallic Substrate be applied to the corrosion inhibitor in the Matrix material is embedded and matrix material and corrosion inhibitor form separate phases.
Bevorzugte Verfahren sind Gasphasenabscheideverfahren wie zum Beispiel Plasma-Abscheideverfahren.preferred Methods are vapor deposition methods such as plasma deposition methods.
Around the size of the has well-controlled dispersed phase-forming elements it turned out to be advantageous, the corrosion inhibitor embedded in the matrix phase by means of an aerosol deposition.

The These methods are in order to make them inexpensive, preferably at atmospheric pressure carried out. This can be time consuming Vacuum technology can be dispensed with.
One another feature of the described vapor deposition processes, in particular the plasma-polymeric deposition of the matrix material, is that by appropriate choice of process parameters the surface energy and thus the wetting properties can be controlled specifically.
So it has e.g. as cheap proved the surface the anti-corrosive coating to make hydrophobic when on the corrosion protection coating no more layer applied and it is exposed directly to the environment. By the Hydrophobic properties cause aqueous liquids to flow off more easily the contact with any injury sites of the anti-corrosion coating is reduced.
A hydrophobic anti-corrosive coating is achieved by nonpolar functional groups, such as methyl groups, on the surface of the Corrosion protection coating can be generated. Preferred components have anti-corrosion coatings with a surface energy below 35 mN / m, in particular below 30 mN / m (at 23 ° C, 50% relative Humidity, 1013 hPa).
If applied to the anti-corrosion coating lacquer or adhesive is to be, however, a hydrophilic surface of the matrix material is favorable. Hydrophilic surfaces of the matrix material are achieved when there polar functional Groups, such as OH groups, are present. Preferred components have matrix materials with a surface energy above 60 mN / m, especially about 65 mN / m (at 23 ° C, 50% relative humidity, 1013 hPa).
By a coating according to the invention can especially components protected whose metallic substrates are made of iron, steel, magnesium, Aluminum or an alloy of the respective material. A particularly preferred field of use are components whose substrates consist of copper-containing aluminum alloys.

Anti-corrosion coatings according to the invention can, In addition to their function to prevent corrosion, in addition Setting a suitable surface tension as adhesion-promoting Layer are used. The The present invention has been described with reference to four exemplary components according to the invention (Example components) and two comparison components, on the anti-corrosion coatings were examined for their suitability. As comparison served two comparative samples, applied to the coatings which contain no corrosion inhibitor.
When metallic substrate that was pickled prior to coating each used the aluminum alloy AA2024. On this substrate was for the four example components the anti-corrosion coating respectively deposited in several, successively applied layers. At first was in each case a first layer of the matrix material by means of a atmospheric pressure or a low pressure plasma separation process. Both Procedural types are explained in more detail below. In a next step For example, the corrosion inhibitor was sorted out as described below and applied to the location of the matrix material that separate Particles on the surface the first layer. In a further step was with the same plasma deposition method applied another layer of matrix material, which covers the location of the corrosion inhibitor particles and the spaces between them the corrosion inhibitor particles from filling. This process has been several Repeated times. From the successive layers so the corrosion protection coating built on the metallic substrate.
It two different plasma separation methods were used, an atmospheric pressure plasma separation method and a low pressure plasma separation method.
At the Atmospheric pressure plasma deposition was as described in WO 01/32949 procedure. there has been a Plasma source from the company Plasmatreat used, which consists of a plasma generator PFW10 and a power supply Type FG1001 exists. The power supply was with a discharge voltage of 280 V and a discharge current operated by 9.3A. As Ionisationsgas was compressed air with a Volume flow of 1200 l / h used.
In The plasma generator was thereby hexamethyldisiloxane in aerosol form produced as a precursor and introduced by an atomizer in the plasma zone. As a carrier gas Nitrogen was used for this purpose. At a distance of 5 mm from the atomizer was the substrate at a speed of 5 m / min under the plasma generator driven through.
