Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for flotation of contaminants from an aqueous Fibrous suspension according to the preamble of claim 1.
Methods of the type mentioned are used to get out of an aqueous Fibrous suspension at least a part of the contaminant particles suspended therein excrete. As is well known, during flotation, the substances to be separated out containing foam or floating mud. A typical application One such method is the preparation of one from printed waste paper obtained aqueous fiber suspension, in which the ink particles already from Fibers are detached so that they can float out. The one described here Flotation process takes advantage of the differences between fiber and unwanted Solid particles in such a way that the fibrous material due to its hydrophilicity in the Fibrous suspension remains, while the solid particles mentioned are hydrophobic and therefore get into the foam together with the air bubbles. Next The ink particles also have a large number of other substances that are hydrophobic and can therefore be separated from the fibrous material by flotation. Such substances are especially glue, fine plastic particles and possibly also resins. If through that Flotation process Fibers separated from impurities, not all Solid particles should be sorted out, one speaks of selective flotation. The The term "flotation thinking", which is also used, is not only used for Removal of ink particles (ink = ink) but also more generally used for the selective flotation of contaminants from fiber suspensions.
The state of the art regarding flotation processes for fiber suspensions is already very advanced. Therefore there are solutions that are quite suitable are to remove a large part of the solid particles by flotation. There Flotation plants are relatively complex to procure and operate, it is a understandable goal, to improve their effect or the necessary effort for that Achieve the same result.
A process in which the addition of the fiber suspension in the already formed Foam takes place, for. B. known from DE 198 23 053.
The invention is based on the object of further increasing flotation processes of this type improve. The cleaning result and / or the yield of the process should be increased become.
This object is achieved in full by the features of claim 1.
Since in this type of process the non-aerated fiber suspension in the ascending If foam is added, it meets an already formed air bubble network liquid channels in between. That way it will Counterflow principle implemented. That is, the "dirtiest" suspension with the already very heavily loaded air bubbles come in contact constantly on the way down becomes cleaner, and the air bubbles then encountered less dirt wear. This well-known and already advantageous principle becomes essential improved that the rising compressed foam can migrate to an area, in which no suspension flows from above. There the flotation foam continues to thicken and is particularly suitable for binding and removing the accumulated contaminants. That at The thickened waste water can be collected and separated if necessary subtracted from.

In Fig. 1 the flotation process is described using a flotation cell. By adding gas G, here through porous tubes 5 in the bottom region of the flotation cell, gas bubbles 1 are formed, of which only a few, and these are exaggerated in size. They rise from the liquid layer 6 against the gravity field. In principle, the gravitational field applied can be earth's gravity or, in other embodiments, can be reinforced by centrifugal forces. (In such cases, "above" means "in the opposite direction to the force field"). The ascending air bubbles collect in the foam 2 above the liquid layer 6 . At this point it is still relatively watery, which is why the boundary surfaces of the bubbles are predominantly spherical: one often speaks of spherical foam. The fiber suspension S is introduced into this foam from above through a feed device 7 , which then sinks downward against the direction of rise of the foam 2 . The addition zone 4 , in which the fiber suspension S mixes with the foam, is indicated by a dashed rectangle. According to the invention, the rising foam 2 is guided in such a way that it does not flow through the addition zone 4 , but is guided past it laterally. For this purpose, an annular channel 8 is used , which is located approximately at the level of the addition zone 4 . Because of the low liquid content of the foam 3 further thickened in this way, the interfaces of the foam bubbles often have a polyhedron shape, which is why it is also referred to as polyhedron foam. The different types of foam are indicated in the figures by two different flat patterns. In practice, there are no clear boundaries between them, but transition areas. A plate 9 arranged above the addition zone 4 brakes the upward movement of the foam. The foam 3 'guided through the ring channel and further thickened can collect above the plate 9 and then flow off or be suctioned off.
The method according to the invention offers further advantages in special configurations. Thus, the Fig. 1 shows in the lower part of the annular channel 8, so that is below the conveyed past the addition zone 4 flotation foam thickened 3 is a Schmutzwasserableitvorrichtung. 11 As a result, the dirty water 13 sinking from the thickened flotation foam 3 can be collected and discharged from the flotation cell. For this purpose, a ring weir 10 is attached at this point. Another possibility, namely a trough-shaped underside of the ring channel, is shown in FIG. 5. In this way, simple means are used to prevent this dirty water from returning to the flotation space and thereby deteriorating the flotation effect of the process. The dirty water 13 can, for. B. clarified separately and then reused or - as shown later - be returned directly to the flotation cell.
Fig. 3). Because of the large number of air bubbles, the downward flow is divided very finely below the addition zone 4 , so that there is a correspondingly high probability of the contaminants attaching to the air bubbles. In this schematic representation, the feed device 7 is also only indicated. It must be designed in a technical apparatus in such a way that the fiber suspension S added is distributed as uniformly as possible. For this purpose, several adjacent perforated pipelines are provided here. The feed device can also form a structural unit with the plate 9 , of which FIGS. 4 and 5 show examples. Then it consists of a flat chamber, which is evenly provided with holes 12 or nozzles at the bottom (see FIG. 3). The top wall of this chamber forms the aforementioned plate 9 .
After cleaning has taken place, the fibrous suspension collects at the bottom in the liquid layer 6 and can be discharged as accepting substance S '. There is a separating surface between the liquid layer 6 and the foam 2 , the shape of which is constantly changing due to eddies.
The method according to the invention can also be carried out in a flotation column, as shown in FIG. 2. The entire flotation vessel is kept under a certain excess pressure, so that the thickened, soiled foam 3 'is conveyed out as reject R via an overhead foam tube. This Fig. 2 shows a further variation, namely with respect to the supply of the required for the flotation gas bubbles. In this way, a substream 14 of the suspension, for. B. sucked out of the liquid layer 6 below, aerated (gas G) and fed again at an overlying location as an aerated suspension 15 . This variant has the advantage of a particularly good and controllable mixing of the fiber suspension with the gas bubbles. As is known, the amount of gas and the gas bubble distribution have a great influence on the flotation effect. In addition, a certain amount of energy must be transferred in order to be able to attach the particles to be flotated out to the gas bubbles. This requirement can also be optimally met with such a separate ventilation circuit. If the dirty water 13 is fed into the ventilation circuit (dashed line 16 ), the contaminants contained therein can be floated again.
Depending on the requirements in terms of economy and cleanliness, the dirty water can also be added again in the feed to the flotation cell (dashed line 17 ) or in the upper part of the liquid layer 6 (dashed line 18 ). If the flotation is carried out in several stages by the reject R flowing into the subsequent stage, the dirty water can also be added here.
While the plates lying above the feed zone 4 are shown in Figs. 1 and 2 flat, it may be advantageous to use a feed device 7 'cone-shaped (Fig. 4) to execute. Another possibility is shown in Fig. 5 with a formed as a spherical segment feeding means 7 ". By this or similar upwardly inclined molding is particularly favored in the annular channel 8, the deflection of the rising foam. The dirty water which accumulates on the disk, can be connected to the lowest point of which can be drained off or sucked off by a further waste water discharge device 11 '.
While the feed devices 7 shown in FIGS . 1 and 2 are provided with pipelines perforated at the bottom, FIG. 6 shows a feed device 7 ''', the pipelines 19 of which are open at the top. As a result, the pumped-in fiber suspension S can emerge with particular advantage and be pumped against the underside of the cover 9 . This leads to a reversal of the flow with corresponding impact processes, which enables particularly good mixing and distribution of the fiber suspension S supplied. As shown in FIG. 7, the underside of the lid 9 may be ribbed 'or provided with pyramid-shaped projections, in order to achieve a particularly advantageous allocation of exiting the conduit 19 the pulp suspension. Another possibility is shown in Fig. 8 with nietkopfförmigen projections on the underside of the Cover 9 '''. The pulp suspension deflected in this way then flows down the pipelines 19 into the foam 2. At the same time, gray material is prevented from being deposited on the underside of the cover.

wherein the impurities are deposited on the gas bubbles ( 1 ) and then removed together with the gas bubbles ( 1 ) in a compressed flotation foam ( 3 ), and
the pulp suspension (S) being removed in cleaned form as accept ( 5 '),
characterized by
that the compressed flotation foam ( 3 ) is guided past the addition zone ( 4 ).
