Description
The invention relates to a method for determining the residual moisture content in a condensation dryer and a condensation dryer suitable for this purpose. The invention particularly relates to a method for operating a condensation dryer with a process air duct, in which process air is moved by means of a fan in a circuit, a drum with laundry items placed therein, and a control device, wherein in the process air duct, a heat exchanger for condensing water from moist, warm process air and at least one humidity sensor are arranged, as well as a particularly suitable for carrying out this method condensation dryer.
Drying processes according to the condensation method are based on the evaporation of moisture from laundry items by means of warm process air and dehumidification of the process air by condensation on a heat exchanger. In the drying process, cool process air is generally passed through a fan through a heater. The dry-heat process air then enters the drum as a drying chamber, which contains the items to be dried. The dry-warm process air absorbs moisture from the laundry. Subsequently, the now moist, warm process air is forwarded by the drum in a heat exchanger for dehumidification, for example, in an air-to-air heat exchanger or the evaporator of a heat pump. The moist, warm process air is cooled in it, whereby the water contained in it is condensed and collected in a so-called condensate sump, which is generally located below the heat exchanger. Upon reaching a certain level, the condensed water is usually pumped by a pump (also called a "condensate pump") into a temporary storage tank (also referred to as a "condensate tank") or into a sewer.
In general, a drying process is divided into three phases, namely a heating phase, a main drying phase and a cooling phase. In the heating phase, the process air temperature rises until a predetermined temperature value is reached. With increasing temperature, the process air can absorb more water from the laundry, so that more water condenses on the heat exchanger used for cooling. When the preset temperature is reached, the process air generally absorbs a constant amount of water from the laundry in the drum. Ie. Also, the condensation of water remains constant. This section is referred to as a stationary phase of a drying process or as a main drying phase. The course of evaporation or condensation is stationary as long as surface water is evaporated from the laundry. If the evaporation finally passes into the evaporation of pore and capillary water from the fabric of the laundry, it requires more and more time and energy. The evaporation and thus the subsequent condensation in the heat exchanger are therefore slower. As the amount of water condensed per unit time decreases, this phase is also referred to as a transient phase. A drying process (also referred to as "drying program") is concluded with a cooling phase in which the heating is generally switched off and in which the dried laundry is cooled.
A determination of the loading of the drum with laundry items should preferably be carried out in a drying process in order to be able to adapt the drying process to the load since different quantities of laundry items behave differently.
The drying process is preferably carried out so that a certain final moisture content of the dried laundry items is reached. It is generally concluded from the measurement of the electrical resistance of the laundry to the degree of moisture. For this purpose, a different number of electrodes is usually arranged at different positions in the dryer. By means of these electrodes, the laundry resistance is measured by DC or AC methods. For a given laundry resistance as a so-called shutdown, in particular for the heating of the process air, then the drying process is usually completed. However, these cut-off values depend on the load and the initial moisture content (also referred to as "initial residual moisture" of wet laundry items originating from a washing machine), since, for example, for the same humidity, the relative humidity of the process air for larger load volumes is certainly greater. It should also be taken into account that with a high initial moisture content, it may take longer for the drying to reach the inside of laundry items. For improved implementation of a drying process, therefore, process steps for determining the initial state, ie. H. in particular a load and initial moisture of the laundry, carried out. On the basis of such information then an adjustment of the shutdown limit can be made. Also known are so-called windowing methods, the several variables such. As energy, in particular the entire energy used to date for drying, electrical power, temperature and elapsed time, correlate each other to improve the prediction accuracy.

- (a) measuring a relative humidity H rel of the process air with the humidity sensor;
- (b) measuring a temperature T P of the process air with a temperature sensor;
- (c) determining an absolute water load L W of the process air from the relative humidity H rel taking into account the temperature T P , wherein a relationship stored in the control device between a maximum water load L W max and the temperature T P is used;
- (d) tracking the time course of the water load L W ;
- (e) taking the time course of the water load L w to determine a residual moisture R W in the laundry;
- (f) comparing the residual moisture R W with a predetermined residual moisture R W set ; and
- (G) terminating the drying process when reaching or falling below the predetermined residual moisture R W set .
Here, in a preferred embodiment in steps (e) and (f) a predetermined minimum water load L W min of the process air is used as a measure of the predetermined residual moisture R W set .
The beginning of the process according to the invention generally takes place at the same time as the initiation of a drying program. In this case, generally the heater and the fan are turned on to direct heated process air for drying wet laundry in the drum.
In one embodiment of the method according to the invention, in which generally only one Temperature sensor and a humidity sensor are used, a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor in the process air duct are arranged either before or after the drum.
im Schritt (a) die relative Feuchtigkeit Hrel als relative Feuchtigkeit Hrel vor vor und als relative Feuchtigkeit Hrel nach nach der Trommel gemessen wird;
im Schritt (b) die Temperatur TP der Prozessluft als Temperatur TP vor der Prozessluft vor und als Temperatur TP nach der Prozessluft nach der Trommel gemessen wird;
im Schritt (c) aus den relativen Feuchtigkeiten Hrel nach und Hrel vor unter Berücksichtigung der Temperaturen TP nach und TP vor eine absolute Wasserbeladung LW nach der Prozessluft nach der Trommel und eine absolute Wasserbeladung LW vor vor der Trommel berechnet wird, und daraus eine Differenz ΔLW = LW nach – LW vor berechnet wird;
In an alternative embodiment of the method according to the invention, in each case a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor are arranged in the process air duct before and after the drum, in which case
in step (a) the relative humidity H rel as relative humidity H rel before before and is measured as the relative humidity H rel according to the drum;
in step (b) the temperature T P of the process air is measured as the temperature T P before the process air before and as the temperature T P after the process air after the drum;
in step (c) is calculated from the relative humidities H rel gradually H rel before taking into account the temperatures T P gradually T P before an absolute water load L W by the process air to the drum, and an absolute water load L W before front of the drum , and from this a difference ΔL W = L W to - L W before is calculated;
in step (d) the time profile of the difference ΔL W of the water load L W is tracked; and
in step (e) the time profile of the difference .DELTA.L W of the water load L W of the process air for determining the residual moisture R W is used in the laundry.
In the method according to the invention, it is preferred that an initial moisture L W init is taken into account, wherein a relationship between the initial moisture L W init and the predetermined residual moisture R W set stored in the control device is used.
The temperature sensors and humidity sensors used are not limited, as long as they can be used to measure a temperature or a relative humidity of the process air. Advantageously, however, sensors are used with which temperature and relative humidity of the process air can be measured simultaneously.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, therefore, a dual sensor is used as temperature sensor and as moisture sensor, with the same time, the temperature T P and the relative humidity H rel of the process air can be measured.
In the inventively provided determination of the residual moisture on the absolute loading of the process air with water is advantageously taken into account the influence of the air pressure.
In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention therefore at least one pressure sensor is present in the process air duct, which measures the pressure P P of the process air, which is then used for the determination of the water load L W , wherein a stored in the controller relationship between the pressure P P , a maximum water load L W max and the temperature T P is used.
Preferably, a triple sensor is used as the pressure sensor, with the same time, the relative humidity H rel and the temperature T P can be measured.
A drying process in a condensation dryer is particularly influenced by an air flow of the process air, since the size of the air flow also determines how long a certain amount of air can be in contact with wet laundry.
In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, therefore, the air flow A P of the process air is set or measured and considered for the determination of the predetermined residual moisture R W set , wherein a stored in the controller relationship between the air flow A P and the residual moisture R W set is used , As a measure of the air flow A P of the process air while a speed or power consumption of the process air blower is considered. However, an actual air flow of the process air can also be measured by a flow meter and then regarded as the air flow A P of the process air.
The moisture content of the laundry items, d. H. the moisture or residual moisture changes during a drying process, since first surface water and finally pore and capillary water evaporates from the fabric of the laundry items. Depending on the moisture of the laundry items at the beginning of the drying process and the type of fabric, the course of a degree of moisture in a drying process is different and a continuous and accurate determination of a degree of moisture therefore advantageous for a laundry and energy efficient drying of the laundry, as well as a precise control of the final moisture content with respect to a given Values such as "iron-dry".
Ein Trocknungsprozess hängt daher auch von der Beladung mit Wäschestücken ab.A drying process is thus influenced by the proportions of surface water and water present in the interior of the laundry, the latter being removed from the laundry items only relatively slowly. A drying process therefore also depends on the load of laundry items.
For the specification of a residual moisture R W set it is in any case advantageous if the load the drum with laundry and / or the initial moisture of the laundry items can be considered.
In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, therefore, a load W of the drum with laundry items for the determination of the predetermined residual moisture R W set is taken into account, wherein a stored in the controller relationship between the load W and the residual moisture R W set is used.
The loading amount and / or initial moisture may be adjusted by a user or preferably determined by the dryer. Various methods are possible for this purpose. In this case, a determined loading amount refers to the dry mass of the laundry items to be dried introduced into the drum. However, at the beginning of the drying process items of laundry have a moisture content, based on the dry weight of the items of laundry, for example of about 60% after a washing process and spinning at 1200 rpm. In addition, different loading volumes behave differently in a drying process. For example, a full-load drying process may be longer than a half-load drying process. Likewise, the duration of the individual phases passed through in the drying process can be different.
The type of determination of the load W of the drum with items of laundry is not restricted according to the invention. For example, the load can be set by user input. In general, however, the loading of the drum is determined by the dryer, for example by weighing the drum and / or by evaluating a motor current and / or electrical power of the electric drive motor. The loading is preferably determined by evaluating a motor current and / or an electrical power of the electric drive motor. If, for example, the power delivered to the electric drive motor is kept constant, the dependence of the motor current on a load of the electric drive motor can be used to determine the loading state of the drum. In this case, in particular, a course of the current within a predetermined period of time, for example, during a run-up of the drum, are tracked. It can be concluded by the dependence of the torque of the electric drive motor of the loading state of the drum and due to the dependence of the torque of the motor current on the load.
However, in preferred embodiments, the method according to the invention also makes it possible to determine and take into account the amount of loading with items of laundry and / or the initial moisture of the items of laundry.
In the method according to the invention, these properties of items of laundry can be advantageously determined by determining a maximum value of the absolute water load. Advantageously, this also a kind of laundry and thus the fibers are taken into account.
Alternatively or in addition to this, the time of occurrence of the maximum of the absolute water load L W can be determined. In this embodiment, a timing device generally provided in the condensation dryer is used. Preferably, a relationship between a load of laundry items and the time of the maximum of the water load is also stored in the control device.
According to the invention, therefore, a method is preferred in which the past time period Δt max measured in the condensation dryer until the maximum L W max of a water load L W has been measured and evaluated with regard to a load W of the drum with laundry items. In this case, a relationship between the period .DELTA.t max and the load W of the drum with laundry items is generally stored in the control device.
In addition, it is preferred according to the invention that the maximum L W max of a water load L W is evaluated with respect to a load W of the drum with laundry, wherein a stored in the control device for different initial humidities L W init relationship between the load W of the drum and the Maximum L W max is used.
- (a) Messen einer relativen Feuchtigkeit Hrel der Prozessluft mit dem Feuchtesensor;
- (b) Messen einer Temperatur TP der Prozessluft mit einem Temperatursensor;
- (c) Ermitteln einer absoluten Wasserbeladung LW der Prozessluft aus der relativen Feuchtigkeit Hrel unter Berücksichtigung der Temperatur TP, wobei ein in der Steuereinrichtung hinterlegter Zusammenhang zwischen einer maximalen Wasserbeladung LW max und der Temperatur TP herangezogen wird;
- (d) Verfolgen des zeitlichen Verlaufs der Wasserbeladung LW;
- (e) Heranziehen des zeitlichen Verlaufs der Wasserbeladung Lw zur Bestimmung einer Restfeuchte RW in den Wäschestücken;
- (a) measuring a relative humidity H rel of the process air with the humidity sensor;
- (b) measuring a temperature T P of the process air with a temperature sensor;
- (c) determining an absolute water load L W of the process air from the relative humidity H rel taking into account the temperature T P , wherein a stored in the controller relationship between a maximum water load L W max and the temperature T P is used;
- (d) tracking the time course of the water load L W ;
- (e) taking the time course of the water load L w to determine a residual moisture R W in the laundry;
- (f) comparing the residual moisture R W with a predetermined residual moisture R W set ; and
- (G) terminating the drying process when reaching or falling below the predetermined residual moisture R W set .
According to the invention, a condensation dryer is preferred in which a temperature sensor and a moisture sensor are arranged in the process air duct before and / or after the drum.
Preferably, a triple sensor is used as the temperature sensor and as a humidity sensor, with which in addition to the temperature T P and the relative humidity H rel and an air pressure P P of the process air can be measured.
In general, in the condensation dryer according to the invention, a condensate pump is arranged in a condensate tray or in a condensate tray connected to the condensate tray. The condensate tray is generally via a so-called condensate channel with a container for intermediate storage of the condensate, d. H. a condensate tank, or connected to a sewer pipe for disposal of the condensate. Since the condensate tray is usually arranged in the bottom group of the condensation dryer and the condensate is removed from it against gravity, a condensate pump is preferably arranged in the condensation dryer according to the invention in the condensate tray or in the condensate channel.
The condensation dryer according to the invention has a heater, in particular an electric heater or a gas heater, wherein an electric heater is preferably used. The heater serves to heat the process air before it is introduced into the drum of the condensation dryer.
For conveying the process air, the condensation dryer also has a fan in the process air duct, which is also referred to herein as a process air blower.
In the condensation dryer according to the invention, which is designed in particular as a circulating air dryer, at least one heat exchanger for dehumidifying the moist, warm process air is present. This is generally achieved by cooling the moist, warm process air. The heat exchanger generally uses a cooling medium, for example cooling air or a refrigerant, for dehumidifying the process air.
The heat exchanger is in particular an air-air heat exchanger or a heat sink of a heat pump, in particular an evaporator.
A heat pump is characterized by two heat exchangers, namely a heat sink, in which heat is absorbed, a heat source in which heat is released, and a pumping device, which transfers heat from the heat sink to the heat source optionally with a change in temperature. In a condensation dryer equipped with a heat pump of the compressor type, the cooling of the warm, moisture-laden process air takes place essentially in the heat sink of the heat pump, also referred to as evaporator, where the heat transferred is used to evaporate a refrigerant circulating in the pump device designed as a circuit , The refrigerant vaporized due to the heating is supplied to the heat pump in the pumping means via a compressor of the heat source, which is a condenser for the refrigerant, where heat is released due to the liquefaction of the gaseous refrigerant. Behind the condenser, the then liquid refrigerant is expanded in a throttle of the pumping device, whereby its internal pressure is reduced, and finally passes back to the evaporator.
In the condensation dryer according to the invention is located in the process air duct preferably an air-to-air heat exchanger or an evaporator of a heat pump. If an air-air heat exchanger is used, preferably a cooling air duct is present therein, through which comparatively cool air, in particular from an installation space of the dryer, is passed as the cooling medium by means of a cooling air blower.
The condensation dryer according to the invention is in particular a tumble dryer per se or a washer-dryer. A washer-dryer here is a combination device that has a washing function for washing laundry and a drying function for drying wet laundry.
The condensation dryer advantageously has an optical and / or acoustic display device for different states of the condensation dryer. For this purpose, an optical display device is preferably used. The display device can, for example, by outputting a text or by lighting different colored LEDs information about the operation of the dryer, for example over the course of the absolute water load L W and / or the residual moisture R W of the laundry, on the load, the phase of the drying process, for example, heating phase, stationary phase, transient phase, or the remaining time of a drying process.
Processes and condensation dryers of the invention have several advantages. Advantages of the invention are in particular that in a drying process, a desired residual moisture of laundry items can be adjusted improved, so that the completion of a drying process can be optimized. In this case, in embodiments of the invention, laundry properties such as loading and moisture level can be determined and taken into account in an accurate manner by evaluating the time profile of the absolute water loading of the process air during the drying process. Passing through the individual phases of a drying process and in particular the control of a drying process to achieve a predetermined residual moisture content of the laundry items are possible in embodiments of the invention for each individual loading of the laundry drum. The inventive method and the condensation dryer according to the invention thus allow an individual, energy-efficient and laundry-friendly implementation of a drying process adapted to the requirements of the user.
After a heating phase dependent on the loading and the initial residual moisture, the drying process is generally in a stationary state. The relative humidity of the process air at the drum outlet can rise up to 100%. Both water loads, before and after the drum, have a maximum. The difference between the two as a measure of the water absorption of the process air as a result of the laundry drying then decreases with increasing drying time. The relationship between the degree of dryness of the laundry, d. H. Residual moisture, and the difference of the water load can then serve as a good shutdown criterion for the heating of the process air and thus the termination of the drying process. This switch-off criterion is generally dependent on the load and the process air volume flow, but almost independent of the initial residual moisture, these influencing factors being taken into account in embodiments of the invention.
