Furthermore, it is known to overmold powder injection molded ceramic inserts with a plastic to produce a plastic-ceramic hybrid component. The problem with this technology, however, is the limited thermal expansion: With a limited thermal expansion and mechanical transverse strains, the ceramic can break due to the locally very high voltages.

In general, plastic-metal hybrid structures have been used in the automotive industry for many years, for example in the form of decorative components, which are produced by the injection-molding of metal foils.
There is thus a need for a composite material component that ensures the transmission of high forces, prevents contact corrosion, which allows the light metal and plastic processing known flexibility in shaping, which can be arbitrarily complex geometric and arbitrarily large area, depending on the purpose of the composite material component powerful Offers properties for decorative and / or structural and / or functional applications and is suitable for mass production.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a hybrid component with a metal component and a dielectric component which satisfies high performance requirements and at the same time can be manufactured flexibly in large dimensions. The object of the present invention is furthermore to provide a method for producing such a hybrid component.
Die Unteransprüche geben zweckmäßige Weiterbildungen an.The object of the invention is achieved by a method for producing a hybrid component according to claim 1 and by a hybrid component according to claim 8. The dependent claims indicate expedient developments.
The object according to the invention is thus achieved by a method for producing a hybrid component with a metal component and a dielectric component, wherein in the method a multifunctional metal oxide ceramic structure is produced on the metal component in a micro-arc oxidation process in an electrolyte solution.
The micro-arc oxidation process (MAO), ie, a plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO), is an electro-chemical transformation of the surface of the metal component into a multifunctional metal-ceramic atomic Composite, consisting of different modifications of oxides of both the metal component and other chemical constituents of the electrolyte, wherein the metal-ceramic composite "grows" inwards and outwards. Since the coating of the metal component results from a transformation rather than a deposition, the converted surface of the metal component has excellent adhesion to the metal component. The micro-arc oxidation process is carried out in an electrolyte solution comprising, in particular, water, and preferably a dilute alkaline solution such as KOH. The metal component is electrically contacted and a voltage is applied between the metal component and a counter electrode. The counterelectrode may be in the form of a wall of a container in which the micro-arc oxidation process is carried out. The micro-arc oxidation process applies voltages typically greater than 200 volts.
The solution according to the invention is now to produce a hybrid component which has a metal component and a dielectric component. The metal component is treated in a micro-arc oxidation process. Such a hybrid component has a wear resistance that is greater than the wear resistance of hardened steel. Furthermore, such a hybrid component has a corrosion resistance greater than the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. By the method according to the invention very large components with ceramic properties can be produced. For example, a complete C-component for the automotive sector can be produced with a ceramic coating.
The micro-arc oxidation process creates a metal oxide ceramic structure on the metal component. In one embodiment of the invention, the metal oxide ceramic structure, i. H. created the result of performing the micro-arc oxidation process on the metal component prior to bonding the metal component to the dielectric component. When performing the micro-arc oxidation process on the metal component, the surface properties of the metal component can be adjusted so that a very strong connection of the metal oxide ceramic structure with the dielectric component can be created. For example, the micro-arc oxidation process can be optimized so that a stable adhesive bond between the metal oxide ceramic structure and the dielectric component can be produced.
Alternatively or additionally, a metal oxide ceramic structure may be formed on the metal component after bonding the metal component to the dielectric component. In this case, the component treated in the micro-arc oxidation process already has a metal component and a dielectric component. Since the dielectric component is not electrically conductive and the micro-arc oxidation process is carried out at low temperatures in non-aggressive electrolytes, it is not changed in the micro-arc oxidation process.
The micro-arc oxidation process is preferably carried out with a current density of more than 36 A / dm 2 . As a result, a wide range of properties of the metal oxide ceramic structure can be determined.
The micro-arc oxidation process is more preferably carried out with several short voltage pulses and long voltage pulses, the long voltage pulses having a sinusoidal shape. It has been found that this voltage curve results in a metal oxide ceramic structure with significantly greater strength whose other properties can be adjusted by varying the voltage profile.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the micro-arc oxidation process is carried out with a complex current-voltage characteristic. This is understood according to the invention as a combination of the types of current (pulse current, sine current, pauses), a combination of the current poles (anodic / cathodic) and / or a combination of the properties of current and voltage (amplitude, frequency, duration, phase). The current density may be 0 A / dm 2 to 50 A / dm 2 and the voltage from 0 V to 1000 V. It has been found that the aforementioned complex current-voltage characteristic results in a metal oxide ceramic structure with significantly better properties in terms of properties such as hardness and roughness. These properties can be adjusted by a variation of the complex current-voltage characteristic.
As the metal component, a light metal component can be used, wherein the light metal component in particular comprises aluminum, magnesium and / or titanium.
The metal component may be formed at least partially in the form of a metal foam and / or a metal fabric.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the metal component can be at least partially formed by washing out salt crystals after casting the metal component spongy. The metal component is preferably formed in the form of a porous cast aluminum. In the production of the metal component, a mold can be filled with salt crystals, in particular in the form of sodium chloride crystals. Subsequently, the mold is filled with a light metal component melt, in particular with an aluminum melt. This is followed by cooling of the light metal component melt. The salt crystals are washed out. After washing, the metal component can be machined.
The object according to the invention is furthermore achieved by a hybrid component having a metal component and a dielectric component, wherein the metal component has a metal oxide ceramic structure that has been produced in a micro-arc oxidation process.
Preferably, the metal component is in the form of a light metal component and in particular comprises aluminum, magnesium and / or titanium.
The metal component can be made at least partially porous by washing out salt crystals after the casting of the metal component.
