Description
The invention relates to a lithium cell for an energy storage device, in particular a motor vehicle battery, having a cell winding which has two electrode strips and at least two separator strips separating the electrode strips, the strips being wound on each other in their longitudinal extension, in particular prismatically, the electrode strips each having an active coating one of the electrode strips forms an anode and the other of the electrode strips forms a cathode, and wherein at least the active coating of the cathode has a first width that is smaller than a second width of at least the active coating of the anode.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a Lithiumionenakkumulator, especially for motor vehicles, comprising a lithium-ion cell of the type mentioned.
Basically, differently designed lithium-ion cells are known which differ from one another in their production method, in particular in the arrangement of the electrodes and separators. Thus, it has been known to prepare cylindrical lithium-ion cells, stacked lithium-ion cells and prismatically wound lithium-ion cells. The prismatically wound lithium-ion cells are also sometimes understood as folded lithium-ion cells because, in contrast to cylindrical ion cells, the electrode and separator strips are also wound, but this does not produce a body of revolution, but a flattened or flat winding element, the strip in their longitudinal course different radii exhibit.
The invention has for its object to provide a lithium-ion cell and a Lithiumionenakkumulator that reduce or prevent the lithium plating in a simple manner.
The problem underlying the invention is achieved by a lithium-ion cell having the features of
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention it is provided that the support means is designed as co-wound support strip. By co-winding of the support strip, the width of the cathode is extended in a simple manner such that the cathode and anode can not be moved toward one another at the longitudinal side edge region, whereby the above-described advantage of the reduced lithium platinum is ensured. The support strip is formed according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention as part of a current collector device and thus serves for electrical contacting of the anode or cathode. The fact that the support strip is co-wound, a simple integration of the current collector is ensured in the cell winding. Alternatively, the support strip is preferably formed as part of the Separatorstreifens, which is characterized in the region in which the anode projects beyond the cathode, by an increased height, and thereby forms the support strip. According to a further embodiment of the invention, the support strip is preferably arranged on the electrode strip of the cathode, in particular on both sides of the electrode strip, and has the same height as the respective active coating of the cathode.
In particular, it is provided that the support strip is formed from the same material as the Separatorstreifen. As a result, the separator strip is widened by the support strip and the addition of the support strip does not change the chemical composition of the cell wrap. This ensures reliable continued operation and simple integration of the support strip.
According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, it is preferably provided that the support strip is formed from a different material from the Separatorstreifen. Thus, the support strip material technically differs from the Separatorstreifen and can be designed in particular optimized so that it ensures the distance between the cathode and anode at the longitudinal side edge area in each operating state of the lithium-ion cell safe.
Particularly preferably, the support strip is made of an electrically non-conductive material. Thus, the support strip advantageously acts in the longitudinal side edge region as an electrical insulator between the two electrodes, or between the anode and cathode.
Alternatively, it is preferably provided that the support strip is made of an electrically conductive material. Thus, the support strip can for example act as an extended separator between the two electrodes, so that the support strip advantageously does not reduce the power of the cell coil, but rather increases it.
Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the height of the support means corresponds to the height of the cathode. Thus, the support means or the support strip completely fills the space between the cathode and the anode, which results from the shortened design of the cathode.
It is particularly preferred that the support strip has a third width which corresponds at least to the difference between the second width and the first width. The support strip thus fills the space provided, and thereby supports the electrodes against each other, so that the distance between the electrodes remains the same over the entire width. Optionally, the support strip already has means that allow easy attachment of the current collector to the electrodes. The funds may be, for example, edge-open recesses. Also, the means may be a special support strip material that allows for an advantageous connection of the current collector to the electrode strips.
According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, it is preferably provided that the support means is designed as a current collecting device having a spacer which is insertable or inserted between two adjacent electrode strips. The spacer, which is to ensure the distance between the electrode strips, thus replaces the aforementioned support strip. The subsequently, ie after the winding of the cell coil mounted current collector device thus adds the spacer between the electrode strips on the longitudinal side edge region, whereby the electrodes at this longitudinal side edge region advantageously have a defined distance from each other, which prevents the lithium plating or at least reduced.
