Description
The invention relates to a device for the antimicrobial cosmetic and / or medical treatment of human skin.
In principle, various measures for antimicrobial or antibacterial skin treatment are known from the cosmetic as well as the medical sector. In addition to the application of antimicrobial or, above all, antibacterial agents, such as. B. creams or ointments, contactless mechanisms for combating bacteria are also mentioned directly on the skin.
For example, the phototoxic effect of electromagnetic light radiation in the visible range on microorganisms is generally known. Especially in the medical field, light therapies for the treatment of skin diseases, e.g. B. acne used. In this context, stationary devices for emitting visible blue or red light are usually used.

Based on this, the object of the invention is to provide a device for the effective antimicrobial cosmetic and / or medical treatment of the human skin which can be used flexibly by the user himself.
The object is achieved by a device for the cosmetic and / or medical treatment of the human skin according to
According to a preferred embodiment of the overall device, the radiation-activatable composition contains active ingredients which develop an antimicrobial effect through the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the radiation source. In detail, the composition has active ingredients which can be activated by radiation and which react in a targeted manner to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the radiation source. When the device is used, photochemical reactions of the corresponding photoactive substances occur as a result of the electromagnetic irradiation of the composition, as a result of which the photochemically converted substances develop an antimicrobial effect. The overall device thus advantageously combines the antimicrobial effect of the radiation-activatable composition and the emitted radiation itself. Due to its proven photochemically induced antimicrobial effect, the radiation-activated composition preferably contains active ingredients selected from the substance group toluid blue, tolonium chloride, methylene blue, tetraphenylporphyrine, squaraine and / or carbamide peroxide special forms of photochemically activatable titanium dioxide. After photochemical activation by appropriate electromagnetic radiation, these substances ensure the desired antmicrobial and, above all, antibacterial effect.
A further advantageous variant of the device arises from the fact that the device has an adjusting device for setting the radiation intensity and a control unit for regulating the radiation emission. In this context, the actuating device, in cooperation with the control unit, ensures a regulated radiation emission in relation to the application, in particular with regard to the radiation intensity. In this way, in the case of deodorization, by suitable adjustment of the radiation intensity, application times of a few seconds can be achieved. The required application time can also advantageously be regulated by corresponding time specifications of the central control unit.
According to a preferred embodiment of the inventive device for radiation emission, the radiation source generates and emits blue to violet light with a wavelength between 400 and 490 nm, preferably short-wave blue / violet light with a wavelength between 400 and 410 nm antimicrobial effect and, when used on human skin, ensures a corresponding reduction in mainly bacterial microorganisms on the skin. In this way, among other things, the development of bad smells caused by bacteria can be avoided on the skin.
A further developed variant of the device for radiation emission provides that the radiation source has at least one light-emitting diode. As is known, light-emitting diodes have a low energy requirement despite high radiation intensity and are therefore particularly efficient. Nevertheless, several light-emitting diodes can be used to increase the emitted radiation intensity. The use of light-emitting diodes also has an advantageous effect on the entire device, which as a result can be designed with a smaller energy source and, at the same time, even more compact. Overall, such light-emitting diodes are specifically used which emit radiation with the wavelength desired according to the invention, eg. B. Gallium arsenite-based light emitting diodes. To ensure a constant supply of energy to the light-emitting diodes, which is particularly important for their trouble-free operation, the overall device also includes a constant current regulator. In order to fundamentally prevent the light-emitting diode or the radiation source in general from being adversely affected by the radiation-activatable composition used, the radiation source is arranged set back within the device. This prevents direct contact of the radiation source with the skin and, at the same time, achieves a defined radiation effect on the skin zone to be treated.
According to a further developed first embodiment of the device, the radiation source emits not only blue to violet light but also ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 250-380 nm, preferably 260-280 nm. For this purpose, several radiation sources, for example corresponding light-emitting diodes, can optionally be used. By combining emitted radiation of different wavelengths, the overall antimicrobial or antibacterial effect can be further enhanced, so that, for example, when the device is used for deodorizing, it is even greater Adjust effects. In this respect, the odor-relevant deodorization effect is intensified and / or accelerated, that is to say, if necessary, the exposure times of the radiation on the skin can be reduced. In an alternative, second embodiment of the device, the radiation source emits not only blue to violet light but also essentially red radiation with a wavelength of 600-700 nm, preferably 605-660 nm Blue light also favored. In other words, the antimicrobial effect of the total radiation emitted is more intense or takes place in a shorter time.
Another useful embodiment of the device for radiation emission is achieved in that the energy source is designed as a rechargeable accumulator (e.g. lithium-ion accumulator) or capacitor. Ideally, a device with such an energy source can be coupled to an associated charging station in order to be able to recharge the energy source in a simple manner. Alternatively, the energy source can also be recharged by another suitable energy transfer.
According to an advantageous further development of the device for radiation emission, it has a focus element for focusing the emitted radiation. Preferably, the suitable focus element may include as a reflective parabolic mirror or transmissive, d. H. transparent, optical lens, for example as a Fresnel lens, for example made of washable injection-molded material (polycarbonate / PET). Alternatively, focus elements that act in a comparable manner are also conceivable. Ultimately, through the use of the focus element, a preferred bundling of the emitted radiation is achieved, which increases the local radiation intensity within the application zone on the skin.
A further alternative device results from the fact that the device has an odor sensor coupled to the control unit for regulating the radiation emission. Such an odor sensor proves to be particularly useful when the device is used for deodorizing. The odor sensor is in fact able to detect bad odors of the skin caused by bacteria and, depending on this, to ensure the targeted regulation of the radiation emission with the interposition of the control unit. Above all, the required radiation intensity can be controlled by means of the odor sensor as a function of the detected bad odor of the skin.
In addition, an associated method for cosmetic and / or medical skin treatment using a device described above is also placed under protection. This is preferably a use of the device according to the invention for the antimicrobial, deodorizing treatment of human skin by delivering a radiation-activatable composition to the skin and supplementary emission of electromagnetic radiation. The combination according to the invention of radiation-activatable composition and appropriate radiation ensures the desired strong antimicrobial effect.
