Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for the antimicrobial cosmetic and / or medical treatment of human skin.
In principle, various measures for antimicrobial or antibacterial skin treatment from the cosmetic and medical sector are known. In addition to the order antimicrobial or especially antibacterial agents such. As creams or ointments, directly on the skin and non-contact mechanisms for bacterial control are mentioned.
For example, the phototoxic effect of electromagnetic light radiation in the visible range on microorganisms is well known. Logically, especially in the medical field, light therapies for the treatment of skin diseases, eg. As acne used. In this context, stationary devices are usually used for the emission of visible blue or red light.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to provide a device for effective antimicrobial cosmetic and / or medical treatment of the human skin, which can be used flexibly by the user himself.
The object is achieved by a device for cosmetic and / or medical treatment of the human skin according to claim 1. Thereafter, the device is designed in contrast to prior art stationary devices as independently handheld handset, with a container for storing and a metering device for dispensing a radiation-activatable composition , with an energy source and with at least one radiation source for generating and emitting electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength between 250 and 700 nm. Such a handset allows a desirably compact design and likewise facilitates easy and flexible application by the user himself Radiation in a wavelength range of 250-700 nm has a special antimicrobial effect in connection with the cosmetic and / or medical treatment of human skin. This also opens up new fields of application for a hand-held device according to the invention. Preferably, a hand-held device according to the invention can also be used for the deodorization of human skin zones. During such a deodorant use, the radiation emitted by the hand-held device according to the invention combats microorganisms, and above all bacteria, which are responsible for the formation of bad odors on the human skin. This antimicrobial effect can be further enhanced by the use according to the invention of radiation-activatable compositions. The emitted radiation, together with the composition released on the skin, combats the cause of the bad odor formation. Specifically, for example during a deodorization application, the radiation-activatable composition is applied to the skin zone to be treated by means of the device, but the irradiation takes place without contact, so that the skin zones provided with the composition are struck by the emitted radiation. In principle, the radiation-activatable composition preferably has a liquid to pasty consistency for easy handling. Alternatively, it may also be a solid composition, which during the application of the device z. B. transmits active substances to the skin by melting the solid composition. Exemplary of such solid overall compositions are, for example, compositions of deodorant sticks.
According to a preferred embodiment of the overall device, the radiation-activatable composition contains active substances which exhibit antimicrobial activity by the emitted electromagnetic radiation of the radiation source. In detail, the composition has radiation-activatable active substances which react in a targeted manner to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the radiation source. In this case, occur in the application of the device as a result of the electromagnetic irradiation of the composition photochemical reactions of the corresponding photoactive agents, as a result, the photochemically converted active ingredients develop an antimicrobial effect. The overall device thus advantageously combines the antimicrobial effect of the radiation-activatable composition and the emitted radiation itself. Because of its proven photochemically induced antimicrobial effect, the radiation-activatable composition preferably contains active substances selected from the substance groups toluid blue, tolonium chloride, methylene blue, tetraphenylporphyrins, squarains and / or carbamide peroxide or special forms of photochemically activatable titanium dioxide. These substances ensure after photochemical activation by appropriate electromagnetic radiation the desired antimicrobial and above all antibacterial effect.
A further advantageous variant of the device results from the fact that the device has an adjusting device for setting the radiation intensity and a control unit for controlling the radiation emission. In this context, the adjusting device, in interaction with the control unit, provides application-related control of a regulated radiation emission, in particular with regard to the radiation intensity. In this way, application times of a few seconds can be achieved in the case of the deodorization application by suitably setting the radiation intensity. The required application time can also be advantageously controlled by appropriate timing of the central control unit.
According to a preferred embodiment of the radiation emission device according to the invention, the radiation source generates and emits blue to violet light with a wavelength between 400 and 490 nm, preferably short-wave blue / violet light with a wavelength between 400 and 410 nm. Radiation in these wavelength ranges has been shown to be the desired one antimicrobial action and, when applied to human skin, provides a corresponding reduction of, above all, bacterial microorganisms on the skin. Thus, among other things, the emergence of bacterially caused bad smells on the skin can be avoided.
A further developed variant of the device for radiation emission provides that the radiation source has at least one light-emitting diode. Light-emitting diodes are known to have low energy consumption despite high radiation intensity and are thus particularly efficient. Nevertheless, a plurality of light-emitting diodes can also be used to increase the emitted radiation intensity. The use of LEDs also has an advantageous effect on the entire device, which can be made as a result of it with a smaller power source and, as it were, even more compact. Overall, such light-emitting diodes are used selectively, which emit radiation with the wavelength desired according to the invention, for. B. gallium arsenite based light emitting diodes. To ensure a constant supply of energy to the LEDs, which is particularly important for their trouble-free operation, the overall device also includes a constant current regulator. In order to prevent in principle an impairment of the light-emitting diode or, in general, the radiation source by the radiation-activatable composition used, the radiation source is arranged set back in the device. This prevents direct contact of the radiation source with the skin and, as it were, achieves a defined radiation effect on the skin zone to be treated.
According to a further developed first embodiment of the device, the radiation source emits, in addition to blue to violet light, also ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 250-380 nm, preferably 260-280 nm. For this purpose, it is also possible to use a plurality of radiation sources, for example corresponding light-emitting diodes. The combination of emitted radiation of different wavelengths, the antimicrobial or antibacterial overall effect can be further enhanced, so that, for example, in the deodorization application of the device set even greater effects. In this respect, the odor-relevant deodorizing effect is intensified and / or accelerated, d. H. if necessary, the exposure times of the radiation on the skin can be reduced. In an alternative second embodiment variant of the device, the radiation source emits not only blue to violet light but also substantially red radiation with a wavelength of 600-700 nm, preferably 605-660 nm. By the additional action of high-energy red radiation with longer wavelengths, the antimicrobial effect of Blue light also favors. That analogously, the antimicrobial effect of the emitted total radiation is more intense or occurs in a shorter time.
Another useful embodiment of the device for emitting radiation is achieved in that the energy source as rechargeable accumulator (eg., Lithium-ion accumulator) or capacitor is formed. Ideally, a device with such an energy source can be coupled with an associated charging station so as to be able to recharge the energy source in a simple way. Alternatively, the energy source can also be recharged by another suitable energy transfer.
According to an advantageous further development of the device for radiation emission, it has a focus element for focusing the emitted radiation. Preferably, the suitable focus element u. a. as a reflecting parabolic mirror or transmissive, d. H. permeable, optical lens may be formed, such as a Fresnel lens, for example, washable injection-molded material (polycarbonate / PET). Alternatively, similarly acting focus elements are conceivable. Finally, the use of the focus element achieves a preferred concentration of the emitted radiation, which increases the local radiation intensity within the application zone on the skin.
Another device alternative results from the fact that the device has a coupled to the control unit odor sensor for controlling the radiation emission. Such an odor sensor proves to be useful especially in the deodorization application of the device. The odor sensor is in fact able to detect bacterially induced bad smells of the skin and to ensure the targeted regulation of the radiation emission as a function of this with the interposition of the control unit. Above all, the need-based radiation intensity can be controlled by means of the odor sensor depending on the detected bad smell of the skin.
In addition, an associated method for cosmetic and / or medical skin treatment using a device described above is also protected. This is preferably a use of the device according to the invention for the antimicrobial, deodorizing treatment of human skin by delivery of a radiation-activatable composition to the skin and supplementary emission of electromagnetic radiation. The inventive combination of radiation-activatable composition and suitable irradiation ensures the desired strong antimicrobial effect.
Further inventive features will be explained below with reference to the embodiment shown in FIGS.
