Description
The invention relates to a film laminate for application to a pane or visor, comprising at least two transparent films arranged one above the other, wherein between each two adjacent films a transparent adhesive layer is arranged.
Especially in racing, but also in other applications, tear-off films are used to protect windows, helmet visors or the like. These tear-off films are often applied as a laminate with multiple films on a disc or a helmet visor. Thus, a very quick cleaning of visors and discs can be done by the top sheet demolished, that is subtracted from the other films, is. In addition, easily scratched or damaged films can be removed and an optimal view can be achieved.
Often, it is not desirable to remove one of the tear-off sheets each time to clean the visor or disk. Therefore, these films are cleaned by conventional means, especially when used on discs. Thus, it is possible, for example, in typical driving a mounted on a window of a motor vehicle protective film repeatedly by using the windscreen wiper and only in case of damage to the top sheet, for example, by scratches, or a very heavy soiling to remove the top sheet again To achieve a clean and undamaged surface of the film laminate and thus the disc.

The invention has for its object to provide a contrast improved foil laminate for a disc or visor, which protects the disc or the visor from damage and contamination and is easy to clean.
To achieve this object, a film laminate of the aforementioned type is provided, wherein each of the films is at least on one side, on the side facing away from the disc or the visor, provided with a plasma plasma layer applied by a plasma process, wherein one of the films is a final film, the the film laminate bounded on one side, in the arranged on the disc or on the visor state directly against the disc or the visor and has smaller dimensions than the adjacent film, whereby an area is formed, in which the adjacent film protrudes beyond the end foil, said the adhesive layer at least in this area covers the surface of the adjacent film, whereby the film laminate is fixed in the arranged on the disc or on the visor state with a circumferential adhesive layer on the disc or visor.
The invention is based on the idea of the advantages of dirt-repellent and / or surface-protective coatings with the Advantages of film laminates, so the quick recoverability of a clean and undamaged surface to combine. Therefore, according to the invention, the corresponding surface is not directly provided with a coating, but there are a plurality of films, each having a plasma polymer layer. From these films, laminating the films and placing an adhesive between the films may form a laminate which may be secured to the disk or visor.
This forms a surface for the disk or visor which has the advantages of a coated surface. Thus, the plasma polymer layer may in particular be hydrophobic, that is to say have a water edge angle of> 90 °. This makes a particularly simple cleaning of this surface possible. At the same time, the surface may also have other properties that reduce dirt adhesion. Coatings, in particular with a plasma polymer layer, can also lead to a harder surface and thus in particular prevent or reduce scratching of the surface.
In the case of a direct coating of a pane or a visor, however, it is to be expected, especially under maximum load, as occurs, for example, in motor racing, that the coating or the pane itself will be damaged in the medium term. The possible damage ranging from the destruction of the disc or the visor, for example by stone chips, on optically clear damage such as scratches or the like, to optically not directly perceptible damage, but increase the roughness of the disc or the visor and thus lead a larger Schmutzanhaftung.le. When using the film laminate according to the invention, the uppermost film layer can be removed in this case, whereby a new, undamaged surface is available.
From the films, a film stack is formed, wherein each two adjacent films are connected by a transparent adhesive layer. It is essential here that each of the films has a plasma-polymer layer at least on one side. According to the invention, this plasma polymer layer is attached to the side of the film which, when the film laminate is applied to a pane or a visor, faces away from the pane or the visor.
A plasma coating can be carried out by first activating organic precursor compounds in a process chamber by a plasma, so that ionized molecules are formed, which are deposited on the surface to be coated. Already in the gas phase, the first reactive molecular fragments are formed in the form of reactive radicals, clusters or chains. The subsequent interaction of the reactive species with a surface leads to the formation of a so-called plasma polymer, which leads to a closed coating even at small thicknesses of a few nanometers. These so-called plasma polymer layers typically form highly crosslinked covalent networks. This makes it possible in particular by plasma polarization to form relatively smooth and flat coatings, which nevertheless have a high mechanical and chemical stability.
The plasma polymer layer may in particular comprise fluorine. In addition, the plasma polymer layer may comprise silicon, oxygen and carbon. Typically, hydrogen is also contained in the plasma polymer layer. The constituents mentioned can be used to form particularly hard and particularly dirt-repellent coatings.
In particular, the plasma polymer layer may comprise at least 22 at% (atomic percent) and at most 27 at% silicon atoms (Si), at least 25 at% and at most 50 at% oxygen atoms (O) and at least 25 at% and at most 50 at% carbon atoms (C) to the total atomic number of the plasma polymer layer without hydrogen and fluorine atoms. For measuring the respective number (amount) of the elements Si, O and C, indicated in each case as at%, ie percentage of the atoms, based on the total number of all atoms of the coating (as 100 at%), and the total number of all atoms of the coating XPS, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is suitable. The at% values and the molar ratios are therefore below, unless stated otherwise especially as "measured by XPS".
In some embodiments, the molar ratio of oxygen to silicon in the coating may be at least 1.25 and at most 2.6, and / or the molar ratio of carbon to silicon in the coating may be at least 0.6 and at most 2.2. The molar ratio can be measured in particular by XPS. If the plasma polymer layer is combined with these proportions, particularly stable and dirt-repellent coatings are achieved.
In order to achieve a high strength of the coating, it is desired that the degree of crosslinking of the polymer be high. A high degree of crosslinking of a polymer typically means that the hydrogen or the fluorine content is small. Therefore, the sum of the molar ratios of hydrogen to carbon and fluorine to carbon may be less than 3.6, in particular less than 3.3.
For a high stability of the plasma polymer layer, it is not sufficient that the plasma polymer is solid in itself, but it must also a good connection with the surface on which the plasma polymer layer is applied, so in this case with the surface of the film produced become. In order to achieve such a bond between the coating and the film, it is possible for the plasma-polymer layer to be connected to the film via a plasma-polymer intermediate layer. In this case, the plasma-polymer intermediate layer may have a chemical composition which differs from the composition of the plasma plasma layer lying above it. Furthermore, the film surface can first be pretreated and activated by a plasma, for example a reductively adjusted plasma or an oxygen plasma, prior to application of the plasma polymer layer. Alternatively or additionally, however, chemical adhesion promoters can also be used as an intermediate layer, ie in particular a few atomic layers of a further material ,
As explained at the outset, the essential advantage of using a film laminate is that by removing one of the films of the laminate again a clean and undamaged surface can be produced. It is therefore particularly advantageous if, when the two films are separated, the adhesive layer essentially remains on one of the films. In particular, the adhesive layer can be deducted with the withdrawn film. Thus, a clean, coated with a plasma polymer layer surface is provided immediately by peeling off the film and thus also the adhesive. This asymmetric detachment of the adhesive layer can be promoted in particular in that the adhesive layer adheres less to a coated side of the film. Even in the case where the release of the adhesive layer from the two films is not complete, it is typically possible to easily clean these films since the adhesive will adhere less to the coated side of the film.
To allow a clear view through a film laminate, reflections within the laminate must be avoided. Therefore, it is advantageous if the adhesive layer between two films forms a closed layer, which preferably covers the entire surface of the films. If, in this case, film and adhesive material are chosen such that they have a similar refractive index, reflections at the interfaces are avoided. If, on the other hand, the adhesive layer between the films is interrupted in the field of view, air inclusions are typically present between the films, with the refractive index of air and the film material typically differing greatly, as a result of which reflections within the film laminate are scarcely avoidable.
When attaching the film laminate to a disk or a visor on the one hand, the formation of air bubbles in the bonding and thus uneven transparency of the film laminate and the occurrence of internal reflections should be avoided, on the other hand should be avoided when using the film laminate water or water vapor between the disc or the visor and the film laminate penetrates, as this may affect the view under certain conditions. An attachment of the laminate to the pane or visor by a completely closed adhesive layer, such that no air bubbles are formed, may be difficult. The attachment should therefore be such that the film laminate is fastened in particular in the edge region, since there the presence of individual air bubbles is less disturbing. At the same time, the attachment of the laminate should complete the area between the pane or visor and the film laminate so that the migration of water is largely prevented. Therefore, it is advantageous if the film laminate is attached to the disc or the visor with a circumferential adhesive layer.
Such a circumferential adhesive layer is provided in that one of the films is an end film which defines one side of the film laminate and has smaller dimensions than the adjacent film, thereby forming an area in which the adjacent film projects beyond the end film, the adhesive at least in this area the Covered surface of the adjacent foil. Thus, the film laminate is formed by a slightly smaller film, which rests directly on the disc or the visor and a stack of slightly larger films arranged thereon, these films having an adhesive layer at least in the edge region.
Advantageously, the film may be made of biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BoPET). BoPET has high tensile strength, is chemically stable and has high transparency. The individual films may have a thickness between 0.3 mm and 10 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 5 mm.
