Description
Stand der TechnikState of the art
The invention relates to a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine with direct fuel injection. Furthermore, the invention relates to a pump for such a fuel supply system and the use of such a pump in a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine.
In today's fuel supply systems of internal combustion engines or internal combustion engines, especially in gasoline engines, an electric fuel pump (EKP) or a Niederdruckvorförderpumpe for pumping the fuel from the tank is installed in the tank space. This pump generates pressures in the low pressure range from 0 bar to 3 to 6 bar. In internal combustion engines with direct fuel injection (DI) injection pressures in the high pressure range of 50 to 200 bar are generated in a second stage. This is done by means of a so-called high pressure pump (HDP), which is usually mounted close to the cylinder head and mechanically driven by the engine or engine via a camshaft. It is designed in a conventional manner as a piston pump. Since with such a pump pressure differences of 47 bar up to 195 bar must be generated, it is on the one hand relatively expensive to produce and on the other hand relatively large. This consumes a corresponding amount of space on the internal combustion engine.
The aim of the present invention is to provide such a fuel supply system, which is less expensive and in which the pump occupies less space for high-pressure generation on the internal combustion engine.
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
According to the invention, a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine is provided with direct fuel injection, with a first pump for conveying the fuel from a tank and a second pump for generating the pressure for direct fuel injection, in which a substantially equal pressure difference can be generated with the first pump and the second pump is.
Pumpenstufen verteilt bzw. in ähnlicher Größenordnung aufgeteilt.According to the invention, a similar, in particular an equal pressure difference (Δ p) can be generated both with the first pump for conveying the fuel from a tank, and with the second pump for generating the pressure for the direct fuel injection. In this way, the pressure level to be generated for the direct injection in the end is evenly distributed over two pumps or pump stages or divided in a similar order of magnitude.
According to a first advantageous embodiment of the fuel supply system according to the invention, the producible. Pressure difference up to 25 bar.
This means that with the first pump, a pressure of 0 bar to preferably up to 25 bar can be generated and then with the second pump, a pressure of preferably 25 bar up to 50 bar. The achievable pressure of up to 50 bar is sufficient in novel Value-DI systems as high pressure for direct fuel injection. Alternatively, a correspondingly divided rated pressure of up to 80 bar, in particular up to 100 bar, is conceivable and useful. Thus, according to the invention, no high-pressure pump is required in the conventional conventional sense. This would be a pump that has to generate a value of the pressure difference of 44 up to 194 bar from the low pressure range up to 6 bar, so that the final pressure is 50 bar or even up to 200 bar. Such a high pressure pump is expensive to produce and takes up much space in the space on the engine. In contrast, the pumps according to the solution according to the invention are adapted to produce in each case a medium pressure difference of preferably 25 bar. The fact that working here in the medium pressure range, costs can be saved, because a pump for generating medium-sized pressure differences can be made much cheaper than a conventional high-pressure pump. Another advantage is the reduction of the space requirement on the internal combustion engine, since the second pump in the inventive solution is smaller than a conventional high-pressure pump.
The two pumps are particularly preferred of the same type. The two pumps therefore preferably have the same pump principle. This unification of the pumps or pressure generating components they can be made much cheaper. On the one hand, no separate production processes need to be created for a second type of pump and, on the other hand, it can be produced in larger quantities, so that a piece-rate effect is clearly noticeable.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the fuel supply system according to the invention, the two pumps are electrically driven. This means that the second pump is electrically driven and no longer, as in a conventional manner, mechanically bonded to a camshaft drive. In this way, the second pump can be flexibly arranged on the internal combustion engine, particularly advantageously in the vicinity of the rail, d. H. the high-pressure line to which the injectors are connected.
To control the second pump, a pressure sensor and a control unit coupled thereto are preferably provided. Thus, a self-sufficient pump is formed, which is advantageous to install separately. The control unit (PEM-HD) can optionally be arranged as a roadside control device, for example, next to the second pump or advantageously be integrated into the engine control. The pressure sensor or high-pressure sensor (DS-HD) measures the pressure between the second pump and the rail and is coupled to the control unit so that the pressure level for direct fuel injection can be regulated as required or pressure regulation in the high-pressure circuit is implemented.
In a further development of the fuel supply system according to the invention, the first pump is electrically driven and the second pump is driven mechanically, in particular with a camshaft. This has the advantage that the already known camshaft drive can be adopted. The second pump may be formed here in particular as a piston pump. Alternatively, the second pump can also be designed as a rotary pump with electric drive.
According to the invention, a pump for such a fuel supply system is further provided, which is adapted to generate pressures of 20 bar up to 80 bar, in particular from 25 bar to 50 bar. Due to these medium-sized pressure differences that can be generated, the design of the pump can be simpler and less expensive than the design of conventional high-pressure pumps.
Preferably, the pump according to the invention is electrically driven, whereby it can be particularly advantageous flexibly mounted, for example in the combustion chamber, since it is not dependent on a conventional cam drive.
The pump according to the invention is furthermore preferably adjustable with a pressure sensor and a control unit coupled thereto. Particularly advantageous in this way a self-sufficient pump system is formed, which is separately installable.
According to the invention, such a pump is also used in a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine.
An exemplary embodiment of the solution according to the invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the attached schematic drawings.
