Grundsätzlich haben Seitenairbags die Aufgabe, bei einem Seitenaufprall oder bei einem Aufprall schräg von vorne, die seitliche innere Fahrzeugstruktur abzudecken und den Insassen davor zu schützen, direkt auf diese aufzuprallen. Die erfindungsgemäße Lösung der Aufgabe erfolgt dadurch, dass in dem Kraftfahrzeug eine Sicherheitsgurteinrichtung vorgesehen ist, und die Sicherheitsgurteinrichtung und das Seitenairbagmodul über einen gemeinsamen Befestigungspunkt an der Säule befestigbar sind. Die vorgeschlagene Lösung ist aus verschiedenen Gründen vorteilhaft. Erstens können die Sicherheitsgurteinrichtung und das Seitenairbagmodul in einem einzigen Montageschritt an der Säule befestigt werden. Zweitens muss zur Befestigung des Seitenairbagmoduls keine zweite Befestigungsstelle an der Säule geschaffen werden. Aus diesen Gründen sind die Kosten und der Aufwand für die Befestigung in der Herstellung und dem Montagevorgang gegenüber der im Stand der Technik bekannten Lösung wesentlich reduziert. Außerdem ist es aus Gründen der Steifigkeit der Struktur des Kraftfahrzeuges vorteilhaft, wenn so wenig Befestigungsstellen, insbesondere Öffnungen, wie möglich an dieser vorgesehen sind. Die Verwendung einer gemeinsamen Befestigungsstelle ist darüber hinaus vorteilhaft, da die Befestigungsstelle für die Sicherheitsgurteinrichtung aufgrund der Rückhaltefunktion der Sicherheitsgurteinrichtung bereits für eine sehr hohe Last ausgelegt ist, die in jedem Fall höher als die erforderlichen Haltekräfte für das Seitenairbagmodul sind. Da der Seitenairbag im Unfall zeitlich vor der größten in der Sicherheitsgurteinrichtung auftretenden Last gezündet wird, wird die durch die Befestigungsstelle zu tragende maximale Last durch das zusätzliche Seitenairbagmodul auch nicht nachteilig erhöht.The object of the invention is achieved in that a seat belt device is provided in the motor vehicle, and the seat belt device and the side airbag module can be fastened to the column via a common attachment point.
