Abstract
Description
The The invention relates to an adsorbent for the removal of heavy metals from contaminated water by mesoporous composite materials, contain the metal oxides and cationic polymers in homogeneous distribution, and advantageous as adsorbents for heavy metal ions be used.
It is known to be heavy metal contaminants in wastewater in spite of constant technical improvements also in the future avoid it altogether. Main causes are electroplating plants, metalworking or winning companies, but also electronics companies, Tanneries and printers. There are also numerous Contaminated sites due to abandoned mines, smelting plants, Landfills and the like., In their disposal or protection also Heavy metal polluted wastewater occur.
Because of the environmental and health hazards of most Heavy metals were introduced in strict wastewater conditions, their compliance can be secured only with great effort. At present, the legally required distance heavy metals / heavy metal ions from wastewater mainly Precipitation, electrolytic cleaning, ion exchange and adsorption applied.
In precipitation processes, the sparingly soluble sulfides are precipitated, for example, with hydrogen sulfide from cadmium- or lead-containing electrolytes. By adding alkalis, metal ions such as Ni 2+ are converted into sparingly soluble hydroxides. Complete removal does not succeed due to the solubility product in principle. In addition, the problem of waste is often only shifted, since the highly toxic precipitation must be dumped. The environmental impact therefore remains very high.
For the treatment of highly concentrated wastewater in Small quantities are used in electrolytic cleaning processes. Here a high deposition rate is possible. The proceedings are limited to the removal of special heavy metals, z. B. become useless galvanizing. The procedure fails at very low metal ion concentrations.
Gives adding a heavy metal salt solution to an ion exchanger, so in case z. B. a cation exchanger the there bound cations in an equilibrium reaction against the the saline solution to be replaced. The procedure is special suitable for the treatment of large quantities of waste water with low electrolyte concentration. The disadvantage is that besides the relatively high material costs additional chemicals necessary for regeneration, some of which are not can be used again. In addition, prepares the removal of such elements as uranium and arsenic problems that in both cationic and anionic form.
Eine
vollständige Entfernung von Metallionen kann bei adsorptiven
Vorgängen erreicht werden, sofern eine Anreicherung am
Sorbens erfolgt, und ein geeignetes Filterbett durchströmt
wird. Gegenüber Ionenaustauschern besteht der große
Vorteil darin, dass keine Austauschchemikalien abgegeben werden,
was gerade für die Trinkwasseraufbereitung wünschenswert
ist. Besonders geeignet sind hierfür neben synthetischen
Polymeren (z. B.
The known materials based on metal oxides have the disadvantage on that the adsorption capacity is practically exclusive by the interaction of the heavy metal ions with the porous ones natural metal oxide surface is controlled, which has significant limitations in adsorption capacity entails.
The The object of the invention is, by a permanent ionic loading the porous metal surface the interaction with the heavy metal ions increase and therefore the efficiency to increase the metal adsorption.
This object is achieved in that a mesoporous composite material with homogeneous distribution of one or more metal oxides, which consist of silicon, titanium, alkoxides and / or mixtures thereof and of one or more cationic polymers containing quaternary ammonium, phosphonium, sulfonium and / or mixtures thereof, for the removal of Heavy metals from contaminated water is used.
B. U, V, As, Cr, Mo, W). Particularly suitable composite components prove to be metal oxides of SiO 2 , TiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 and / or mixtures thereof. As a cationic polymer, high molecular weight organic compounds containing quaternary ammonium, phosphonium or sulfonium groups can be used. Commercial polymers based on poly (allylamine hydrochloride), poly (diallyldimethylammonium) chloride, polyethyleneimine or copolymers with quaternary acrylic or methacylamide structures have proven particularly suitable. The proportion of the cationic polymers in the composite material is advantageously in a range of 0.1 percent by weight to 50 percent by weight, based on the total weight of the adsorbent. The homogeneous distribution of the cationic polymers in the metal oxide matrix can be easily generated by a sol-gel process and has a particularly positive effect on the adsorption of metals which form anionic forms (eg U, V, As, Cr , Mo, W). The manufacturing and drying conditions of the composite material according to the sol-gel method should be designed so that pore sizes in the range between 1 nm and 300 nm are achieved.
- The hydrolysis of silicon, titanium, aluminum alkoxides and / or mixtures thereof takes place at room temperature in the presence of one or more cationic polymers and / or mixtures thereof. The hydrolysis of the alkoxy compounds can be catalyzed by addition of small amounts of acid or alkali metal hydroxide. The cationic polymer can be added before, during or after the hydrolysis.
- - The gelling of the composite brine is carried out by heating, neutralizing or freeze-drying.
- - The subsequent drying is advantageously carried out in a range between 80 ° C and 120 ° C.
- - Granules by gelling the Komposititsols, crush, drying between 80 ° C and 120 ° C, optionally grinding and classifying
- - Moldings by filling desired forms with the composite sol and freeze-drying at temperatures below 253 K in a vacuum
- Coating of porous support materials (eg pumice shaped bodies) with the composite sol and drying between 80 ° C. and 120 ° C.
The obtained mesoporous composite materials are in their different forms of application for the removal of heavy metals, in particular uranium, vanadium, arsenic, chromium, molybdenum and tungsten in the wastewater. Due to the mesoporous Structure will also have good adsorption levels with copper, nickel and Lead scored.

300 mg/l. eingesetzt. Die Kontaktzeit beträgt 1 Stunde. The first embodiment describes binding attempts to remove uranium from uranium-added tap water at different HCO 3 content. To characterize the uranium binding capacity of the adsorbents used, the binding performance is tested through 1 g mesoporous composite material in 500 ml uranium-containing water. The water used is a tap water containing about 50 μg / l uranium with a HCO 3 content of 80 mg / l or 300 mg / l. used. The contact time is 1 hour.
modifizierten Kompositmaterialien (mKM4 Silikat-Matrix modifiziert
One Another embodiment describes column experiments with different uranium removal adsorbents from a natural, uranium-containing well water.
The mesoporous composite materials (mKM2 - silicate matrix without cationic modification, mKM5 - modified silicate matrix with KP1, mKM6 - 100 ml Nanosol A with 4 g KP3 and mKM7 - 100 ml Nanosol A with 4 g KP4) are in small columns with one volume of about 10 ml and flows through uran polluted well water. The flow rate is 10 ml / h. At regular intervals, the uranium concentration determined in the inlet and outlet. In summary, the following are shown Results. A surprisingly good binding performance is by the nanoparticulate structured silicate matrix without cationic modification (mKM2) achieved. Up to about 500 bed volumes is a depletion to uranium concentrations below 10 ug / l reached. Significantly better values are achieved through the use of cationically modified composite materials (mKM5, mKM6 and mKM7) achieved. At the silicate matrix modified with KP1 (mKM5) becomes Uranium over the total test duration of approx. 1250 bed volumes almost completely (less than 2 μg / l) removed from the water. Good values are also achieved by the materials mKM6 and mKM7. With a total test duration of 780 bed volumes when using mKM6 or 1250 bed volumes when using mKM7 become residual concentrations less than 6 μg / l uranium or less than 10 μg / l uranium reached.
