Dieses sind die sogenannten Oxidationskatalysatoren.to Reduction of pollutants in an exhaust stream such as The exhaust stream of an internal combustion engine are usually catalysts used under certain operating conditions, a proportion of Oxidize pollutants to less harmful compounds. This are the so-called oxidation catalysts.
One preferred Y-type zeolite provides acidic (cationic) centers releasable cations ready, exchanged for precious metals to form catalyst-coated zeolite. A preferred Method of Making the Catalyst Coated Zeolite / Silica Interlayer is provided, using colloidal silica as a barrier over the catalyst-coated intermediate layer is provided. hereby becomes the exposure of the catalyst metal in the intermediate layer limited with sulfur compounds in the exhaust gas.
Es existiert folglich im Stand der Technik weiterhin das Bedürfnis nach alternativen Oxidationskatalysatoren.adversely this is the structure of the catalyst, which is a silica intermediate layer provides. Consequently, the prior art still exists Need for alternative oxidation catalysts.

The present invention is also a catalyst for oxidation of constituents of the exhaust gas from internal combustion engines, comprising a catalytically active layer according to the present invention Invention. Such a catalyst may be a component group or "brick" as it is installed in the exhaust system of a motor vehicle. It is possible that the distribution of the salary of the individual Metals in the nanoparticles depend on the location of the nanoparticles in the catalyst. Thus, in the case of a Pd / Pt catalyst on the outer Edge (1 inch from the edge of a 5.66 inch cylindrical substrate Diameter removed) the maximum of the distribution curve for the Pd content of the individual bimetallic nanoparticles on the inlet side have a different location than at the outlet side.
Separate Types of bimetallic or polymetallic nanoparticles can spatially separated from each other in the catalyst, so that, for example, oxidation and reduction reactions of individual Harmful gases such as nitrogen oxides or other exhaust components spatially run separately. So it succeeds in several places of the catalyst of the invention or on an arrangement from several identical or different invention Catalysts in an emission control system or by combination with conventional catalysts, different concentrations of harmful gases and adjust harmful gas ratios.
The spatial separation of individual types of bimetallic or polymetallic nanoparticles can be done inter alia by the catalytically active layer are applied to one or more different moldings, wherein the catalyst in a particularly advantageous manner at least one of the NO x content does not increase de partial function on the downstream molding has.
The catalyst can be composed of several partial catalysts (on one or more substrates). These can be arranged axially one behind the other or radially next to one another. Its sub-functions can be distributed to two or more moldings, with a particularly advantageous manner having a non-increasing NO x component subfunction downstream.
On a (ceramic) material used as a carrier material may be similar and / or different bimetallic or polymetallic nanoparticles.
On several (ceramic) used as support materials Substances may be similar and / or different bimetallic or polymetallic nanoparticles.
Of the Catalyst can be similar and / or different bimetallic or polymetallic nanoparticles in different successions applied or alternating layers on a molding (Substrate) have.
The catalyst may have similar and / or different bimetallic or polymetallic nanoparticles in regular and / or irregular axial or radial zones on a substrate, wherein regularly a non-increasing NO x content subfunction is advantageous downstream.
The catalyst may comprise identical and / or different bimetallic or polymetallic nanoparticles on the inlet channels and / or outlet channels of a wall-flow filter, wherein a partial function which does not increase the NO x content is advantageous on at least part of the outlet channels.
In an embodiment of the invention Catalyst is the internal combustion engine, from the exhaust gas Components are oxidized, a diesel engine.
The present invention further provides a method of treatment the exhaust gas from internal combustion engines by oxidation of exhaust components, wherein the untreated exhaust gas via a catalytically active Layer passed in accordance with the present invention becomes. Advantageously, the internal combustion engine, off whose exhaust gas constituents are oxidized, a diesel engine.
In one embodiment of the method, the catalytically active layer in the flow direction of the exhaust gas in front of a diesel particulate filter (DPF), catalytic diesel particulate filter (cDPF), selective catalytic reduction catalyst (SCR) and / or nitrogen storage catalyst (NSC) is arranged. An advantage of this arrangement is that certain types of catalysts such as SCR and NSC catalysts achieve higher conversions at a certain ratio of NO to NO 2 . Furthermore, it is advantageous that the oxidizing effect for hydrocarbons upstream of a catalyst whose function is negatively influenced by hydrocarbons (DPF, cDPF, zeolite SCR) protects these catalysts.
In a further embodiment of the inventive method, the catalytically active layer in the flow direction of the exhaust gas after a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), nitrogen monoxide / nitrogen dioxide oxidation catalyst (DeNOx), diesel particulate filter (DPF), catalytic diesel particulate filter (cDPF), selective catalytic reduction catalyst ( SCR) and / or nitrogen storage catalyst (NSC). An advantage of this is that the above-mentioned types of catalysts require a high content of NO 2 for operation and thus the exhaust gases flowing through the catalytically active layer according to the invention have a reduced content of nitrogen dioxide. This is the case in particular when corresponding bi- or polymetallic nanoparticles, for example Pd-rich nanoparticles, are used.
In a further embodiment of the invention Method comprises the catalytically active layer palladium and the catalytically active layer is at thermally stressed sites arranged the exhaust line, which are selected from the group comprising in front of an exhaust gas turbocharger, an exhaust gas recirculation device, a thermally regenerated particulate filter oxidation catalyst and / or in the immediate vicinity of the engine. Advantageous this is because the palladium-containing versions of the Layer are temperature stable and due to the oxidizing effect so-called "cat-burner" and "engine-burner" applications possible are.
The present invention further provides the use of a catalytic active layer according to the present invention for the oxidation of components of the exhaust gas from diesel engines.
The invention will be further explained with reference to the following considerations. Here, a vehicle is considered, which is equipped with a lean burn engine or diesel engine from 0.6 to 5.2 liters. Such a plant includes, for example, one to seven bricks, at least one of which may be a filter body. The "bricks" may carry or contain different catalysts on the same or different volume elements. In most cases, one to three possibly different components are used with oxidation catalysts. The total volume of the components with oxidation catalysts usually corresponds to 0.3 to 4 times the cubic capacity. The noble metal loading of such oxidation catalysts is between 3 and 230 g / ft 3 .
Ihre Edelmetallbeladung beträgt zwischen 30 und 200 g/ft3.In addition, NSC catalysts can be used. The catalyst / displacement ratio is 0.2 to 3.0 for the exemplary vehicles. Their precious metal loading is between 30 and 200 g / ft 3 .
The size of their components is 1 to 5 times in the exemplary vehicles of the displacement. They are usually precious metal free, can but also include parts of oxidation catalysts or with be socialized on a component.
Become one or more of the catalysts of the invention in such a plant alone or together with other catalysts used, their total volume is 0.15 to 3.75 times of the displacement. As a component for the invention Catalysts are suitable among other flow through substrates (honeycomb), Filter substrates and other components in an exhaust aftertreatment device, For example, sensors, dosing units, mixer structures or Pipework. Also components that include other catalysts or wear, are suitable in addition to one or more the catalyst layers according to the invention wear.
The precious metal loading of the catalysts according to the invention is for this example, depending on the application and the application, from 0.05 to 220 g / ft. 3 If one or more of Pt / Pd catalysts of the invention and / or Pt / Rh catalysts and / or Pd / Rh catalysts and / or Pt / Pd / Rh catalysts are used in such an exhaust aftertreatment system alone or together with other catalysts, so the proportion of Pt in the total noble metal of the catalysts according to the invention is between 0 and 90% by weight.
If catalysts according to the invention are used together with one or more other catalysts on a component, then the component can have a total precious metal amount of up to 225 g / ft 3 . The Pt content of the total noble metal of such a device may be between 0 and 95% by weight. The sum of the Pd and Rh contents, based on the total noble metal content of such a component, does not fall below 3% by weight. In trimetallic versions of the catalyst according to the invention, the Pd: Rh ratio for this example is between 10000: 1 (Pd-rich) and 1:25 (Rh-rich). Similar compositions apply in this example to the embodiment of a Pd / Rh catalyst.
The Preparation of Pt / Pd catalysts is based on the following considerations further explained.

Beispiel 1: Synthese von Pt-Nanopartikeln (Kern)Example 1: Synthesis of Pt nanoparticles (Core)
Man erhielt Pt-Nanopartikel mit einer mittleren Teilchengröße im Bereich von 2,3 ± 0,3 nm bis 3,5 ± 0,3 nm.800 mL of demineralized water (demineralized water) were heated to boiling in a 1 L round bottom flask by means of an electric mushroom heating hood. With vigorous mixing, 6.3 mL of a hexachloroplatinic acid solution (c Pt = 6.54 g Pt / L) corresponding to 41.2 mg Pt (2.11 × 10 -4 mol) were added in succession to the boiling deionized water. and a solution of 828 mg of trisodium citrate dihydrate (2.82 x 10 -3 mol) in 10 mL of deionized water. The reaction solution was boiled for 5 hours at low reflux. After about 15 minutes, a first dark discoloration of the reaction solution was observed, which increased in the further course of the reaction. After cooling, the dark brown colored sol had a pH of 6. To stabilize the platinum hydrosol, a solution of 56.7 mg of 4,7-bis (sodium sulfonatophenyl) -1,10-phenanthroline (1.06 x 10 -4 mol) in 10 mL of deionized water was added to the sol. About 8 hours later, the platinum particles were isolated by concentration of the hydrosol on a rotary evaporator at a bath temperature of 273 K to 303 K in a rough vacuum until incipient flocculation. The residual volume of the sol was about 8 mL. This residual volume was transferred to a centrifuge tube and admixed dropwise with about 5 ml of ethanol for the quantitative precipitation of the particles. The now heavily clouded sol was centrifuged for 1 hour at 4800 rpm. After decanting the supernatant centrifugate, the residue was dried in a vacuum desiccator in a rough vacuum within 16 hours. There was obtained 40 mg of a dark, glossy solid. It spontaneously and completely dispersed in deionized water. Pt nanoparticles having an average particle size ranging from 2.3 ± 0.3 nm to 3.5 ± 0.3 nm were obtained.

- - 8.0 mL 1.0 molar sodium hydroxide solution (8.0 × 10 -3 mol) diluted with 392 mL deionized water.
Man erhielt Pt/Pd-Nanopartikel mit einer mittleren Teilchengröße im Bereich von 3,4 ± 0,8 nm.The pH of the reaction sol during the synthesis was about 3.6 to 4.2. Eight hours after the end of the dosing, the stabilization of the reaction sol was carried out by adding 32.2 mg of 4,7-bis (sodium sulfonatophenyl) -1,10-phenanthroline (6.00 × 10 -5 mol) in 10 ml of deionized water , 24 hours later, the sol was adjusted to a pH of 6.0 and concentrated on a rotary evaporator at a maximum bath temperature of 310 K in a rough vacuum until incipient flocculation. The residual amount of the sol was about 20 mL. This residual sol was mixed with 15 mL ethanol pa until clear turbidity, transferred to centrifuge tubes and centrifuged for half an hour at a speed of 4800 rpm. The yellow colored centrifugate was discarded. The drying of the residue was carried out in a vacuum dessicator in a rough vacuum. There was obtained 21.2 mg of a dark brown powdery solid which dispersed spontaneously and completely in small amounts of water. Pt / Pd nanoparticles were obtained with an average particle size in the range of 3.4 ± 0.8 nm.
