Description
Rudder arrangement for ships To improve the controllability of It is known to ships to have two rudders instead of a central rudder blade to be attached to the stern of the ship or in addition to the main rudder. In the latter case 11 the rudder or control rudder is attached at a greater distance from the main rudder and with their axes of rotation at a greater distance, usually 1 m, from the The axis of rotation of the main rudder is stored. The main rudder and lead rudder point to tax relief Balance fins open.
It is also known to relieve the tax on the main rudder on both sides of the same overbalanced rudder attached and with the former to couple, whose rudder blade surfaces are in front of the rudder axes and their axes of rotation lie with that of the main rudder in a plane perpendicular to the ship's longitudinal plane.
The disadvantage of these known round assemblies is that of actuation the rudder necessary great effort and the not fully satisfactory controllability the one with such rudder arrangements. equipped watercraft.
The invention has the task of improving the controllability of To improve ships and to facilitate the operation of the oars.
The invention relates to a rudder arrangement for ships, consisting from a main rudder and rudder on both sides, their. Axes of rotation with that of the main rudder lie in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal plane of the ship and whose. Axes of rotation are connected to the main rudder as well as rotational movements in the same Execute senses, and it consists in the fact that the rudder blade surfaces of the rudder are essentially behind the rudder axes and that the control rudders are both in their The angles to the main rudder as well as to each other can be adjusted differently.
According to a preferred embodiment, this is different Adjustment caused by the fact that the guide vanes are adjustable in length Articulated rods are connected to the main rudder .. For example, those can be used to both Side of the main rudder arranged control rudder by changing the length of the articulated rods from the parallel position to each other and towards the main rudder outwards or inwards be adjustable.
In the rudder arrangement according to the invention, the arrangement of Balance fins on the main rudder are dispensed with, so that only the leading rudder balance fins own. In order to adapt the rudder arrangement to the flow speed of the water, it is advisable to use a slider on the main rudder, the one in the. Main rudder blade Can close attached opening, the size of the rudder surface can be changed do. In addition, a Flettner rudder can be installed on the main rudder in a manner known per se provided and the latter be provided with a balance fin.
The advantages achieved by the invention are significant in one Improving the controllability of ships and in the also under unfavorable Conditions easy and safe operation of the steering gear as well as in it to see that the rudder arrangement according to the invention subsequently to already existing Rudder works can be attached without particularly expensive modifications.
In the following the invention is based on an exemplary embodiment Illustrative drawing explained. It shows Fig. 1 the side view of a steering gear according to the invention with the omission of a guide vane and FIG. 2 a plan view the object according to Fig.1. The one arranged on the stern of a ship in the usual way Main rudder 2 are assigned to both sides of the control rudder 3 and 3a at such a distance and by articulated rods 4 and 4a with the same articulated that they at Swivel the control deflection of the rudder 2 and part of the water on the pressure side deflect from the center rudder and direct the water towards the center rudder on the suction side. The articulated rods 4 and 4 connecting the control rudder 3 and 3a to the central rudder 2 4a can be provided by an adjusting device 5, for example one provided with a handwheel Sleeve with right-hand and left-hand thread for the joint rods, which are also threaded, changed in length, d. H. be lengthened or shortened so that the guide vanes 3 and 3a from their pair parallel position to each other and to the center row out are adjustable out or in and the center rudder z. B. on the bisector which can be adjusted at an angle to each other adjustable guide vanes 3 and 3a. The control rudders 3 and 3a have balance rudders 6 and 6a, and the center rudder 2 is equipped with an auxiliary rudder 7 which has a balance rudder 6b. Go berserk the shaft passed through the rudder shaft designed as a hollow shaft 8 9, the auxiliary rudder 7 can be adjusted via the linkage 10. The rudder blade of the middle rudder 2 has an opening 11 through the suspended on rollers 12 as well as in a lower guide guided slide 14 can be closed. To do this, a double cable 15 used, which ends on the deck of the ship. To move the Slider by hand, a handle 16 is provided on this: control rudder and main rudder lie with their axes of rotation 17 or 17a and 17b in one plane. Through repeated Experiments on the canal and at different points of the Rhine river with its most varied Water speeds as well as at high and low tide is the 1375 t Tried the steering system attached to the large ship "Immaculata" according to the invention and the knowledge has been made that by appropriate adjustment of the In all cases, the rudder made it much easier and safer to steer the ship than before the installation of the system as well as all other not with the invention Steering gear equipped ships. Depending on the flow conditions, the Ends of the control rudder a little closer to each other or a little behind from the parallel position swiveled outwards, the effort required to operate the control system is complete low and controllability significantly improved. Even at the slowest speed the ship follows every rowing movement quickly and safely. When driving in the current the slide 14 on the center rudder 2 can be extended to ease the control of the vehicle.
