Abstract
The invention relates to a process for recovering highly purified hydrofluoric acid by removing interfering ionic impurities, in particular arsenic compounds, by introducing a hydrogen fluoride-inert gas through the hydrofluoric acid. For hydrogen fluoride acids, these high purities are mandatory for use in the television and semiconductor industries, microelectronics, and trace analysis.
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Gewinnung hochreiner Fluorwasserstoffsäure. The invention relates to a process for obtaining high-purity hydrofluoric acid.
The high-purity product is preferably used in the television and semiconductor industry, in microelectronics and for trace analysis.
Various methods for purifying hydrofluoric acid are known. For example, methods for protecting the ionic contaminants by distillation are described. These methods have the disadvantage that they do not meet the required high purity for each element, such. As arsenic, can ensure. The removal of arsenic requires additional complex measures. Thus, special treatment steps are inserted before distillation, e.g. Oxidation with gas mixtures containing ozone, with permanganate and mannitol or with Caro's acid. A major disadvantage of these methods is that the chemical additives cause additional contamination. In addition, due to the formation of aerosols in the distillation always some of the impurities in the distillate Another disadvantage is the complicated and expensive apparatus, the high energy consumption and the complicated multi-stage operation of the known methods.
The aim of the invention is the development of a process for the maximum removal of, in particular, interfering ionic compounds, such as arsenic compounds, from hydrofluoric acid.
The method should ensure a high cleaning effect and be technically easy to carry out.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The invention has for its object to develop a process for the recovery of high purity hydrofluoric acid with minimal arsenic content.
According to the invention, the objective is achieved by passing an inert gas with respect to the hydrofluoric acid to be purified at room temperature, preferably nitrogen or air, through this hydrofluoric acid. By means of the gas stream passed through, surprisingly, a maximum expulsion of the sufficiently volatile arsenic compounds from the hydrofluoric acid is achieved. It is a flow rate of 50 to 600 l / h, preferably from 100 to 400 l / h to comply. In order to achieve a high depletion of the arsenic compounds, the temperature of the hydrofluoric acid to be purified in the range of 275 to 325 K, preferably in the range of 285 to 315 K, to keep.
By the method according to the invention it is possible to produce hydrofluoric acid with high purity and a minimum content of arsenic compounds. The inert gas is passed through the hydrofluoric acid at room temperature without additional pressure application.
Through this hydrofluoric acid purified air is passed through the fine filter at room temperature and at a flow rate of about 300 l / h, wherein the temperature of the hydrofluoric acid between 295 and 300 K is maintained. The arsenic content is thus depleted from 22.8 ppm to 0.03 ppm
Arsenic assay values were determined using an AAS-4000 atomic absorption device from Perkin-Elmer.
