Charakteristik der bekannten technischen LösungenCharacteristic of the known technical solutions
In the die casting molten light metals or their alloys are processed by means of die casting machines to corresponding die castings. One of the most critical process steps is the separation of the molded parts from the die. Therefore, before introducing the molten metal into the die, it is necessary to treat its working surfaces with a mold release agent to prevent adhesion of the casting material and to ensure good demoulding of the die cast parts.
The relevant literature describes a number of processes in which solid, pasty or liquid release agent combinations are used for the treatment of the pressure casting molds. In this case, liquid release agents are preferred because of the more favorable applications.
As separating substances are mainly graphite, molybdenum or tungsten disulfide, metal powder or organic substances such as silicones, sulfur or halogen-containing compounds u. Ä., Which in the appropriate Trägerermedieix such as oils and water or mixtures thereof u. Ä. Be incorporated.
Im Buch von Reimer "Druckguß" (2. Auflage, München: Hanser—Verlag 1968, Seite 224) wird auf den Einsatz von Zinkstearat als geeignetes Formtrennmittel hingewiesen..In the book of Reimer "die casting" (2nd edition, Munich: Hanser Verlag 1968, page 224), the use of zinc stearate as a suitable mold release agent is pointed.
In the sole use of metal salts of aliphatic carboxylic acids, however, the incoming lubricating or separating effect is extremely unsatisfactory. With solid or pasty metal soaps no uniform coverage of the entire surface of the mold is possible. Another problem is the incorporation of metal salts of aliphatic carboxylic acids in disperse systems or in the preparation of their solutions for the purpose of better applicability and dispersibility of the active substances.
No. 4,212,750 describes a process in which aqueous emulsions with lubricating or mold-separating properties are obtained by using polyalkylene glycol in conjunction with chloroparaffin or sulfurized or chlorinated fatty acid esters and other additives.

The stability problems with such combinations lead, above all, to the high working temperatures and, in the case of complicated casting molds, to uneven covering of the mold surfaces with a release-active substance and thus to difficulties in demoulding. Furthermore, sulfur or halogen-containing substances form aggressive decomposition products, which lead to corrosion on the die casting molds.
When using solid or pasty mold release agents or unstable release agent dispersions, the implementation of an automated die casting process from the o. G. Reasons not possible or difficult to realize. At the same time form by the content of non-volatile substances and from the decomposition products on the mold surfaces unwanted residues that lead to further technological difficulties, in particular quality problems on the master mold and Diecasting, and require considerable expenditure on the maintenance of the molds.
Finally, the surfaces of the die-cast parts have a non-uniform appearance and the removal of the residues requires an intensive washing process of the castings.
A number of release agent combinations, especially oil, wax and halogen-containing, additionally have the disadvantage that considerable problems in terms of health, work and fire protection occur.
The object of the invention is to remedy the shortcomings inherent in the prior art, in particular the technological problems resulting from the insufficient release agent combinations when performing the die casting process, and to eliminate the conditions for automation of the die casting process for light metals and their alloys to accomplish.

It has also been found to be expedient if the carboxylates consist of the salts of metals of the I. and II. Main group of the Periodic Table of the Elements or of zinc with aliphatic carboxylic acids having more than 10 C-atoms.
Furthermore, it has proved to be advantageous if the system consists of dihydric and trihydric alcohols of glycerol and a diol, with the ethylene glycols have been found to be particularly advantageous.
In the method according to the invention, the mold release agent is miscible with water in any ratio and is preferably applied by spraying onto the working surfaces of the pressure casting molds, wherein a homogeneous, firmly adhering and low-residue release agent layer is produced by the water evaporation.
