The invention relates to the ceramic industry, metallurgy and mechanical engineering. The aim of the invention is the extension of the service life of parts subject to wear as well as the extensive avoidance of damaging grinding and reduction of the milling time during grinding processes in the ceramic industry and metallurgy. The invention has for its object to provide high-wear parts with high abrasion resistance, relatively high density and low production costs. The object is achieved in that the titanium parts consist of 0.5 to 15 atomic percent dissolved oxygen and 0.03 to 7.5 atomic percent dissolved nitrogen, suitably the ratio of oxygen to nitrogen 2: 1. Possible fields of application of the invention are wear-resistant parts in machines and devices, in particular mixing and grinding units, for example for grinding bodies and linings for ball mills.

Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The invention has for its object to provide highly wear-resistant parts with high Abriebf esiiigkeit, relatively high density and low production costs. According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the titanium parts with 0.5 to 15 atomic percent dissolved oxygen and 0.03 "to 7 It is advisable to have a content of oxygen of 2 to 10 and nitrogen of 1 to 6 atomic percent, and a ratio of oxygen to nitrogen such as 2 to 1. Instead of titanium, titanium may also be suitable for certain applications If the parts have a cylindrical shape, it is expedient to subject them, prior to their use, to rounding off the cylinder edges of an intake grinding, only with water having a maximum duration of 100 hours *.
An essential use of the erfindungsgernäßen parts lies in particular in the preparation of texture and contamination-sensitive special ceramic materials such as semiconductor,

The. According to the invention, in addition to optimal performance of the invention, what is numerically proven by means of the exemplary embodiments also leads to a standardization of the grain spectrum and an associated improvement in sintering homogeneity, which is particularly important for ceramic varistors, in order to form preferred current paths and thus to prevent local overheating. By increasing the Feststoffarrceils the grinding process reduces the expenses for dewatering the grinding suspension and grinding energy in general.
As a highly wear-resistant material for cylindrical grinding media titanium is used with 6 atomic percent dissolved oxygen and 3 atomic percent dissolved nitrogen. Compared to known grinding bodies based on TiOp, the service life is increased by 20 times and the required grinding time is shortened by about 20 %. Compared to agate balls, the milling claw is shortened by 5 to 8 times with the same wear resistance and the price is considerably lower,
