Zařízení pro destrukci biologické pěny a inhibici pěnotvorných mikroorganismů způsobujících tvorbu této biologické pěny v čistírnách odpadních vodEquipment for the destruction of biological foam and the inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms causing the formation of this biological foam in wastewater treatment plants
Oblast technikyField of technology
Vynález se týká zařízení pro destrukci biologické pěny a inhibici pěnotvorných mikroorganismů způsobujících tvorbu této biologické pěny v čistírnách odpadních vod, zejména v aktivačních nádržích čistíren odpadních vod.The invention relates to a device for the destruction of biological foam and the inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms causing the formation of this biological foam in wastewater treatment plants, especially in the activation tanks of wastewater treatment plants.
Dosavadní stav technikyCurrent state of the art
Tvorba pěny při zpracování odpadních vod představuje závažný problém. Obzvlášť pěnotvorné organismy, např. vláknité houby rodu Nocardia, tzv. Mykolata způsobují vážné problémy v čistírnách odpadních vod (dále ČOV). Jedná se např. o zanášení konstrukčních prvků a měřicích sond. Biologické pěny dále znemožňují vizuální kontrolu aeračního systému a zhoršují kvalitu odtoku ČOV.Foam formation in wastewater treatment is a serious problem. Foam-forming organisms in particular, e.g. filamentous fungi of the genus Nocardia, the so-called Mykolata, cause serious problems in wastewater treatment plants (hereafter WWTP). This is, for example, clogging of structural elements and measuring probes. Furthermore, biological foams make visual inspection of the aeration system impossible and worsen the quality of WWTP effluent.
One of the well-known methods of suppressing the occurrence of biological foam at wastewater treatment plants is mechanical destruction, i.e. collecting biological foam, then mixing the foam with other biomass of activated sludge and de-sludging the WWTP system, which also reduces the amount of foam-forming microorganisms. However, this procedure is technologically, mechanically and energetically very demanding and its efficiency is very low.
The destruction of foam in general is dealt with, for example, in document DE 3803263, which describes the destruction of foam during milk processing. Foam in milk is created both during the process of separating gas from milk and during the separation of certain portions of milk, which complicates industrial processing. The air separator is filled continuously or in batches with milk, which is subjected to a separation process, while foam is formed on the surface of the milk. The milk flows out of the outlet, but at the same time a cavity resonator is placed above it, into which foam penetrates, which is exposed to the radiation field of the microwave generator in its space. Alternatively, the microwave generator is arranged above the milk surface, whereby the milk surface is included in the action of the microwave generator. The disadvantage of this solution is that it can only be used in relatively small vessels, because the dimension of the outer circuit of the microwave generator fits into the inner circuit of the gas separator. Another disadvantage of this solution is that it is designed specifically for the processing of milk, and its transfer to other uses in the destruction of biological foam brings many design and application obstacles.
The task of the invention is to create such a device for the destruction of biological foam and the inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms in wastewater treatment plants, which would enable the destruction of biological foam in the activation tanks of wastewater treatment plants and which would enable the effective destruction of biological foam in a large volume.
Podstata vynálezuThe essence of the invention
Vstup elektromagnetického záření je zaústěn do jedné výstupní komory kolmo k podélným osám obou komor ve vzdálenosti A od obvodové příruby této výstupníThis task is solved by creating a device for the destruction of biological foam and the inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms. The device includes a magnetron forming a source of microwave radiation and a waveguide with an input of electromagnetic radiation. The waveguide is a vertically arranged resonance applicator having the shape of the letter "U", consisting of two parallel output chambers of quadrangular cross-section separated from each other by a partition. The waveguide is closed in the upper part by an arc canopy, and in the lower part of the waveguide there are output chambers terminated by peripheral flanges to define the area and volume of the treated biological foam floating on the water surface exposed to microwave radiation. The electromagnetic radiation input is directed into one output chamber perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of both chambers at a distance A from the peripheral flange of this output
Účinného stojatého vlnění je dosaženo celkovým vyladěním zařízení, především vlnovodu a umístěním vstupu mikrovlnného záření v jedné z výstupních komor ve vhodné vzdálenosti od vodní hladiny.- 1 CZ 309515 B6 chamber and at a distance B from the peripheral flange of the second outlet chamber, while the distance A is smaller than the distance B. The distance A is at least 469 mm and the distance B is at least 864 mm. The waveguide is constructed in such a way that a standing wave is created inside, which allows energy to be effectively focused into the layer of biological foam and effectively destroyed. The essence of the invention is that biological foam floating on the water surface is exposed to standing microwave radiation generated by a magnetron for a period of 120 s to 300 s. Standing microwave radiation is advantageous for the reason that maximum energy can be focused in a defined space, in this case, in the biological foam on the water surface of the activation tank. Standing microwave radiation is delivered to the layer of biological foam by a resonant applicator. Effective standing waves are achieved by overall tuning of the device, especially the waveguide, and by placing the microwave radiation input in one of the output chambers at a suitable distance from the water surface.
Frekvence mikrovlnného záření vystupujícího z výstupních komor je 2450 MHz.To create a standing wave, it is advantageous that the exit chambers have internal dimensions of 80 mm x 80 mm and their length between the semicircular canopy and the peripheral flanges is 539 mm. Other important factors are the location of the microwave radiation entrance into the waveguide and its distance from the water surface. Furthermore, it is advantageous that microwave radiation emerging from the output chambers is applied to the area of the treated biological foam with a size of at least 200 x 80 mm. The dimensions of the waveguide, in this case the dimensions of the output chambers, enable the conversion of the electromagnetic field emerging from the magnetron into an effective standing wave. The frequency of microwave radiation emerging from the output chambers is 2450 MHz.
Furthermore, it is advantageous that each outlet chamber is provided with perforations for air supply in at least one of its parts. Perforations prevent water condensation on the inner walls of the waveguide. The part of the waveguide equipped with perforations is stored in the cabinet.
Furthermore, it is advantageous that the output chambers are covered with a micanite plate in the area above the perforations to prevent moisture from entering the electromagnetic radiation into the waveguide. The input of electromagnetic radiation or magnetron antenna is very sensitive and susceptible to damage. Therefore, it is protected by a mikatin plate, which is nevertheless permeable to microwave radiation.
Také je výhodné, že výkon magnetronu je 900 W a frekvence mikrovlnného záření je 2 450 MHz.It is also advantageous that the power of the magnetron is 900 W and the frequency of microwave radiation is 2450 MHz.
In a preferred embodiment, at least part of the waveguide including the electromagnetic radiation input is stored in a cabinet, where the electrical accessories of the magnetron from the transformer, capacitor group are also arranged. Sensitive electrical accessories of the magnetron are thus protected from moisture and subsequent damage.
Výhody vynálezu spočívají v účinné a velmi rychlé destrukci biologické pěny a inhibici pěnotvorných mikroorganismů v aktivačních nádržích čistíren odpadních vod. The advantages of the invention lie in the effective and very fast destruction of biological foam and the inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms in the activation tanks of wastewater treatment plants. Another advantage of the present invention is that after applying the above-mentioned method, the biological foam in the activation tanks is not renewed. The advantages of the device according to the invention lie in its design, which enables the creation of an effective standing wave inside the waveguide, thereby achieving the maximum possible efficiency of biological foam destruction and inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms in the activation tanks of wastewater treatment plants.

Příklady uskutečnění vynálezuExamples of implementation of the invention
Elektromagnetické záření z magnetronu 2 je vedeno vstupem 7 elektromagnetického záření neboli anténou magnetronu 2 do vlnovodu 3.The subject of the invention is the creation of a method of destruction of biological foam and inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms causing the formation of this biological foam on the water surface in wastewater treatment plants. The object of the invention is also the device 1 for carrying out this method. The device 1 has a source of microwave radiation, which is a magnetron 2 with a power of 900 W. The magnetron 2 is equipped with electrical accessories, i.e. a transformer 5 and a capacitor 6. The electromagnetic radiation from the magnetron 2 is guided through the input 7 of electromagnetic radiation, or the antenna of the magnetron 2, into the waveguide 3.
Magnetron 2, transformer 5, capacitor 6 and a part of the waveguide 3 are located in the case 4, which protects the magnetron 2 and its accessories against damage and ensures a compact arrangement of the entire device 1. The outer dimensions of the case 4 are 500 x 400 x 260 mm. The cooling pipe 14 of the magnetron 2 is also located in the cabinet 4, which removes the heat from the magnetron 2 with the help of a fan out of the cabinet 4. Apart from the fan, the cabinet 4 can also be equipped with a grid for the removal of superheated air. A filter 15 is also placed in the box 4 due to the electromagnetic compatibility of the device.
Obě výstupní komory 8, 8‘ jsou zakončeny obvodovými přírubami 9, 9‘ o rozměrech 200 x 80 mm.An integral part of the device 1 is the waveguide 3. In this embodiment, it is a resonance applicator in the shape of a "U", which is arranged vertically in such a way that its upper part formed by the arc canopy 13 is stored in the housing 4. The waveguide 3 is further formed by two parallel outlet chambers 8, 8' of quadrangular cross-section with dimensions of 80x80 mm. The output chambers 8, 8' are separated from each other by a longitudinal partition 12. The output chambers 8, 8' of the waveguide 3 are terminated in the upper part and thus connected by an arched canopy 13, which forms the "U" shape of the waveguide 3. Both output chambers 8, 8 ' are terminated by peripheral flanges 9, 9' with dimensions of 200 x 80 mm.
An input 7 of electromagnetic radiation from the magnetron 2 is directed into one output chamber 8. Electromagnetic radiation is sent from the magnetron 2 to the waveguide 3 through the input 7, which is transformed into microwave radiation by movement in the waveguide 3. The entrance 7 of electromagnetic radiation is directed into the waveguide perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of both output chambers 8, 8". In the first outlet chamber 8, the entrance 7 of electromagnetic radiation is located at a distance A from the peripheral flange 9. The microwave radiation thus travels the path A in the first outlet chamber 8, which is 469 mm. The path of microwave radiation leading through the second output chamber 8' is longer, as it must also overcome the canopy 13 of the waveguide and is 864 mm long. The microwave radiation emerging from the output chambers 8, 8' and acting on the biological foam on the water surface has a frequency of 2450 MHz. The device 1 and especially the waveguide 3 is designed in such a way that a standing wave is created inside the waveguide 3, which is advantageous for the reason that maximum energy can be focused into the designated space, in the case of this invention, into the biological foam in the space of both peripheral flanges 9, 9' , which results in its effective destruction and at the same time the inhibition of foam-forming organisms is achieved, thereby preventing further formation of new biological foam.
Mikrovlnným zářením vystupujícím z obou výstupních komor 8, 8‘ se tak působí na plochu biologické pěny o velikosti 2 x 80 x 200 mm.The output chambers 8, 8' are provided with perforations 10 at a height of 349 mm from the peripheral flanges 9, 9\ Perforations 10 are used to supply air to the waveguide 3, so that water does not condense on the inner walls of the waveguide 3. The waveguide 3 includes a part provided with perforations 10 stored in the cabinet 4, which ensures greater rigidity and compactness of the entire device 1. The output chambers 8, 8' of the waveguide 3 with peripheral flanges 9, 9^ emerge from the cabinet 4. The microwave radiation emerging from the two output chambers 8, 8' is thus applied to an area of biological foam with a size of 2 x 80 x 200 mm.
Both outlet chambers 8, 8' are covered in the area just above the perforations 10 by a micanite plate 11, which prevents moisture from entering the inlet 7 of electromagnetic radiation.

The device 1 is placed above the water level of the activation tank in the place where the biological foam formed by microorganisms accumulates so that the lower edge of the peripheral flanges 9, 9' touches the water level. The height of the peripheral flange is 80 mm, which is also the height at which the peripheral flanges 9, 9' sink into the biological foam, which is affected by the microwave radiation coming out of the output chambers 8, 8. In this embodiment, the device 1 is placed stationary above the place in the activation the WWTP tank, where the greatest accumulation of biological foam occurs.
In another example of implementation, it is possible to place the device 1 on the carriages and move it in a specified horizontal direction by means of the handles on the cabinet 4.
The method of destruction of biological foam and inhibition of foam-forming microorganisms causing the formation of this biological foam on the water surface in wastewater treatment plants was tested in laboratory conditions. Samples of biological foams from the monitored wastewater treatment plants were placed on a Petri dish, which was inserted under the output chambers 8, 8' of the waveguide 3. Subsequently, the foam was exposed to microwave radiation for a predetermined time, namely 30 s, 60 s, 120 s and 300 s. After the specified time, the sample was processed for LIVE/DEAD analysis and analyzed on a fluorescence microscope. The tables below show the results of 3 laboratory tests with foams from 2 different wastewater treatment plants.
Průměrně dosahovala po tomto čase mortalita u sledovaných vzorků 50 až 60 %.The results show that a significant decrease in living cells was achieved after only 120 seconds of exposure to microwave radiation. On average, after this time, mortality in the monitored samples reached 50 to 60%.
