Description
The invention relates to polyolefin compositions. based on ethylene polymers, characterized by high stress corrosion resistance.
It is known that the processing and performance properties of ethylene polymers can be adjusted by the addition of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer. The addition of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer to the ethylene polymers significantly reduces the stress corrosion resistance of the polymer composition as shown in Table 1. For some more demanding packaging applications, the stress corrosion resistance of polyethylene alone is insufficient. To treat corrosion under stress of polyethylene compositions! according to AO no. 210,555 recommends adding a purified inorganic filler to the ethylene polymers. However, this method is not always feasible either because no suitable inorganic filler is available or because the resulting composition is not suitable. application.
These drawbacks are eliminated by the polyolefinic composition, which is based on the fact that in the treatment of stress corrosion in the compositions! based on ethylene polymers consisting of copolymers of propylene with ethylene having a 1 to 20% ethylene content, preferably having a melt index of 0.1 to 4 g / 10 min. % in an amount of 1 to 25 wt. With respect to the weight of ethylene in the polymer compositions prepared on the basis of the polymers of ethylene and ethylene vinyl acetate, there will be significant changes in the morphological structure, which in addition to changing the performance properties of the ethylene polymer compositions also increases their corrosion resistance under stress.
The relationship between structure and resistance to stress corrosion is not theoretically explained. It is believed that the action of the active agents swells the amorphous regions of the polymers, resulting in a decrease in the cohesive intermolecular forces.
Prídavok polymérov propylénu v množstve 1 až 25' % hmot., s výhodou 20 % hmot. do polymérov etylénu, resp. v množstve 1 až 25 % hmot., s výhodou 5 % hmot. do zmesi polymérov etylénu a etylénvinylacetátu obsahujúcej 1 až 30 % hmot. etylénvinylacetátu, s výhodou 15 °/o hmot. etylénvinylacetátu ovplyvní povrchové vlastnosti fáz polymérnej kompozície tým, že zníži povrchoví! energiu medzi fázami, Čo priaznivo ovplyvní zmáčanie přítomných fáz v polymérnej kompozícií. The addition of propylene polymers in an amount of 1 to 25% by weight, preferably 20% by weight. into polymers of ethylene, respectively. in an amount of 1 to 25 wt.%, preferably 5 wt. % to a mixture of polymers of ethylene and ethylene vinyl acetate containing 1 to 30 wt. % ethylene vinyl acetate, preferably 15 wt. ethylene vinyl acetate will affect the surface properties of the phases of the polymer composition by reducing the surface properties of the polymer composition. inter-phase energy, which favorably affects the wetting of the phases present in the polymer composition. This promotes the structuring of the polymer mixture, since the formation of more complex high-structural forms cannot be expected at low inter-phase adhesion. This ensures better dispersion of the components in the homogenization process as well as increased inter-phase adhesion of the polymer compositions prepared based on ethylene polymers.
Znížením povrchovej energie medzi fázami a vytvořením zložitejších vysokoštruktúrnych morfologických foriem sa zlepší adhézia přítomných fáz prídavkom etylénpropylénových kopolymérov, resp. kopolyméru, čo sa prejaví zvýšením odolnosti přítomných fáz, či komponentov polymérnej zmesi pripravenej na báze polymérov etylénu voči rozvrstveniu, ako i voči difúzii molekúl aktívnych organických činidiel.By reducing the surface energy between the phases and creating more complex high-structure morphological forms, the adhesion of the phases present is improved by the addition of ethylene propylene copolymers, respectively. copolymer, which results in increased resistance of the present phases or components of the polymer blend prepared on the basis of ethylene polymers to stratification as well as to the diffusion of molecules of active organic agents.
The interphase layer formed by the present ethylene-propylene copolymer, respectively. The ethylene-propylene and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers localize on the phase interface surface of the present components (phases) also the surface properties of the prepared composition based on ethylene polymers are affected. The formed interfacial layer with increased adhesion to the polyethylene phase and more complicated morphological structure by increased content of propylene segments. therein, it better resists the penetration of active corrosive organic agent molecules and the subsequent destruction of the polymeric samples exposed to the corrosive environment under mechanical stress, which results in an increase in the stress corrosion resistance of the polyethylene compositions. Corrosion under stress was determined according to CSN 64 3010. LISSAPON N was used as corrosive agent. For under stress corrosion we took the time when five of the nine test pieces broke.
The advantage lies in the fact that polyethylene compositions prepared on the basis of polyethylene, evacopolymer and ethylene propylene copolymers will find application in such areas of the national economy, where their application is not yet possible. A further advantage of the present invention is that the actual production of the polymer composition is economically undemanding and technically easy to implement on the machine-technology equipment commonly found in the polymer manufacturers or processors.
