Abstract

Un método para la producción de cementos a base desulfoaluminato de calcio que desarrollan altas resistencias predecibles en tiempos cortos, el cual consiste en la formación de un clinker mediante la calcinación de las materias primas a temperaturas superiores a 1200°C, de tal manera que el clinker producido tenga un alto contenido de sulfoaluminato de calcio, silicato tricálcico y silicato dicálcico y, durante o previa a la etapa de molienda, adicionar el clinker así producido y con los componentes básicos antes mencionados cantidades óptimas de óxido o hidróxido de calcio y sulfato de calcio a fin de activar dicho clinker. En dicha molienda deberá observarse una temperatura de aproximadamente de 100 a 125°C y un tiempo suficiente para convertir el yeso en hemihidrato con lo que se logrará que el sulfato de calcio presente en el producto así obtenido se encuentre en condiciones de reaccionar rápidamente durante la hidratación del cemento, dando lugar a la formación de la etringita, requiriéndose para ello la presencia de un pH superior a 12. Por supuesto, también se reivindica como novedad el cemento activado, resultante del método de calcinación y de molienda de la invención.
