Abstract

一种电连接器,包括一绝缘壳体及收容于该绝缘壳体的第一及第二型端子,沿绝缘壳体的底面形成有一对具若干凹穴的凸缘,第一型端子具有一上端及一下端,在其下端形成一***印刷电路板的针脚,其上端形成一与对接连接器的对应端子电性连接的接合部,该针脚的上端邻近结合部处具有从针脚的上端突伸的两凸肩部,该凸肩部卡掣于凸缘的相应凹穴中,这样可以增强第一型端子***印刷电路板时的支持力及保持力。

Description

电连接器
本实用新型是关于一种电连接器,特别是指一种具有增加端子固定效果、端子***印刷电路板时能固持于连接器壳体中防止其偏转的连接器。
用于连接千兆位界面转换器(GBIC)模块与背板***的SCA-2型连接器通常采用压入配合型端予以简化连接器安装至印刷电路板的过程。该压入配合型端子在***电路板时会遇到相当大的阻力,若此时连接器壳体不能提供足够的支持力,该阻力则会使端子变形以致端子不能与印刷电路板上的导电性镀层正确地接触,甚至不能***印刷电路板建立电性连接。
本实用新型的主要目的在于提供一种能可靠地将压入型端子固持于壳体的连接器,能够提供足够大的支持力以保证该压入型端子直线***印刷电路板,且***时该端子不会变形。
本实用新型的目的是这样实现的:电连接器包括一绝缘壳体及收容于该绝缘壳体中的若干第一及第二型端子,一对呈纵长延伸的稳定凸缘形成于绝缘壳体的底面,每一凸缘的纵长方向上设置有若干个以相等间距分隔开的凹穴以固持端子,且每一凸缘上的凹穴与另一凸缘上的凹穴是相互交错设置。贯穿绝缘壳体的底面另形成若干个第一、第二端子收容槽以收容相应的第一及第二型端子。
每一第一型端子包括形成于其上端以与对接连接器的对应端子接触的接合部,以及形成于其下端、被压入印刷电路板的针脚。该针脚的上端又形成有一对凸肩部,可卡掣于壳体的相应凹穴。每一第一型端子的接合部进一步包括从凸肩部之间水平突出的横向部,可连接位于相应端子收容槽中的接合部的下端与位于凸缘凹穴中的针脚。每一第二型端子则为现有的压入配合型端子,其与绝缘壳体的配合也为现有的配合。
由于采用上述方案,通过SCA-2型连接器壳体及压入配合端子的改良结构,该端子可更有效地被固持及支持在壳体中,并且壳体能够提供足够大的支持力以保证该压入型端子直线***印刷电路板且不会变形。
下面结合附图和实施例对本实用新型作进一步说明。
图1是本实用新型电连接器底面的部分立体图,其中仅显示一第一型端子及一第二型端子。
图2是图1所示本实用新型电连接器壳体的A-A线剖面图。
图3是图1所示第一型端子的前视图。
图4是图1所示第一型端子的侧视图。
图5是图1的B-B线剖面图。
请参照图1,本实用新型电连接器1包括一长形绝缘壳体20、若干第一型端子40及第二型端子50(图中仅各显示一支)收容于绝缘壳体20中。
请参图3,每一第一型端子40的上端设有与对接连接器(图中未示)的端子电性连接的接合部43,下端设有可***印刷电路板(图中未示)的针脚41。针脚41包括一裂开柱411以完成***印刷电路板的压入配合,及便于***的导引尾部415。一对凸肩部413从针脚41的上端沿与导引尾部415相反的方向延伸,裂开柱411包括一对弓形支柱412。理论上,弓形支柱412在针脚41***印刷电路板过程中应该是相向对称变形。
请参图4,接合部43包括从针脚41顶端自凸肩部413之间水平延伸而出、并大体垂直于针脚41的横向部437,一固持柱435从横向部437的末端垂直向上延伸,固持柱435的相对侧边形成有若干凸刺436以与绝缘壳体20干涉配合以紧固端子40。在固持柱435上具有一空间438以增强固持柱435的弹性,从而更易于将端子40紧固于绝缘壳体20中。一个横向尺寸向其自由末端逐渐减少的锥面433由固持柱435的上端斜向上延伸,该锥面433形成一弓形接触部431以与对接连接器的端子接触。
第二型端子50为业界现有的压入配合型设计,所以在此不再详述。
再请参图1及图2,沿绝缘壳体20底面21的相对侧边形成有一对呈纵长延伸的稳定凸缘23,且沿每一凸缘23的长度方向形成有若干等间距的横向凹穴231,相对凸缘23上的凹穴231是相互交错设置。每一凹穴231在较靠近底面21处有一凹穴基部233,绝缘壳体20的底面21另形成两行第一端子收容槽25,每一第一端子收容槽25设置于相邻凹穴231位置处以收容相应的第一型端子40的接触端43。端子收容槽25进一步包括形成于最靠近凹穴231边缘处的相对侧边的两开口251,可收纳上述凸刺436。

两行第二端子收容槽27形成于绝缘壳体的底面21,每一行的第二端子收容槽27是与第一端子收容槽25交错排列,用以收容第二型端子50,每一第二端子收容槽27还包括形成于离底面21中线最近的边缘相对侧边的两开口271,可收纳第二型端子50的凸刺(图中未示)。
请参图1、图3及图5,组合时,第一型端子40的凸肩部413以紧靠凹穴231的相对侧边235的方式卡掣于凸缘23的对应凹穴231。第一型端子40的横向部437抵靠于凹穴231的凹穴基部233,且朝邻近凹穴231的对应第一端子收容槽25横向延伸,固持柱435延伸进入第一端子收容槽25。第一型端子40的凸肩部413及横向部437紧贴配合于凸缘23的凹穴231,凸缘23与第一型端子40的上述设计增加了施加于端子40上的支持及固持力,因此,第一型端子40可被稳固地固持于绝缘壳体20中,可以有效地防止第一型端子40在被压入印刷电路板过程中从沿着绝缘壳体20纵长方向的正确位置偏移。锥面433斜向延伸至绝缘壳体20的中心,固持柱435则靠近第一端子收容槽25的外侧边。凸刺436则分别固定于第一端子收容槽25相对设置的开口251。
每一第二端子50是从绝缘壳体20的底面21***对应的端子收容槽27而分别收容于其间。由于第二型端子50安装于绝缘壳体20为业界现有技术,所在此不加详述。
第二型端子50有一接触部531朝向第一型端子40的相应接触部431突伸,所述两接触部431、531在连接器1与对接连接器结合时与对接连接器的端子电性连接。每一端子40的接触部431正面朝向相应第二型端子50的接触部531以接触及固持位于两接触部之间的对接连接器的端子。

Claims (8)

1.一种电连接器,包括一长形绝缘壳体及若干第一型端子,第一型端子组设于上述绝缘壳体,每一第一型端子具有一上端及一下端,在其下端形成一***印刷电路板的针脚,其上端形成一用于与对接连接器的对应端子电性连接的接合部;其特征在于:该绝缘壳体的底面具有至少一凸缘,凸缘上等间距地横向设置有若干凹穴,该针脚的上端邻近接合部处具有至少一凸肩部,该凸肩部卡掣于上述凸缘的相应凹穴中。
2.根据权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:凸缘的每一凹穴靠近绝缘壳体底面的位置处形成有一凹穴基部,且每一第一型端子上形成有一与凸肩部成一角度且邻近凹穴基部延伸的横向部。
3.根据权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:贯穿绝缘壳体的底面形成有若干第一端子收容槽,每一收容槽是对准且邻近于相应凸缘的凹穴,以收容第一型端子的接合部。
4.根据权利要求3所述的电连接器,其特征在于:每一第一端子收容槽包括设置在相邻于对应凹穴相对侧边的两开口,且每一第一型端子的相对侧边有若干的凸刺与上述第一端子收容槽的开口形成干涉配合,以固持第一型端子于绝缘壳体中。
5.根据权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘壳体的底面形成有两相互平行的凸缘,两凸缘上均形成有凹穴,且该两凸缘上的凹穴是交错设置。
6.根据权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:其包括若干第二型端子,每一第二型端子具有一上端及一下端,在其下端形成一针脚,其上端形成一接合部,其中该绝缘壳体底面上形成有若干第二端子收容槽以收容相应的第二型端子。
7.根据权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:每一第二端子收容槽的相对侧边具有一对开口,该开口位于邻近离底面中线最近的第二端子收容槽的边缘。
8.根据权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:每一第一型端子及第二型端子的针脚形成有一裂开柱,且该裂开柱包括一对弓形柱以***印刷电路板。
