Abstract

An aspect of the present invention provides a tongue prick for correcting a position of a tongue of a patient, which is a pointed cone shape, which is round and smooth, and a sharp ridge is formed on the round and smooth surface. The tongue prick of the utility model can stimulate the tongue tip below the tongue prick to better help the patient to develop a good tongue habit.

Description

Tongue thorn and tongue thorn appliance
Technical Field
The present invention generally relates to a tongue prick for breaking bad tongue habits and a tongue prick appliance provided with such a tongue prick.
Background
In order to break the bad habits of tongue extension, tooth licking, finger sucking and primary tongue spitting, a dentist usually uses a tongue prick appliance for a patient.
However, the inventor of the present application has found that the existing tongue thorn design, although it enables the patient to avoid placing the tongue at the tip of the tongue thorn, does not enable the patient to avoid placing the tongue at the bottom of the tongue thorn, in which case the tongue still touches the teeth and is in an incorrect position, thereby affecting the correction effect.
Therefore, there is a need for a new tongue and tongue appliance provided with such a tongue.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
An aspect of the present invention provides a tongue prick for correcting a position of a tongue of a patient, which is a pointed cone shape, which is round and smooth, and a sharp ridge is formed on the round and smooth surface.
In some embodiments, the remainder of the circumference of the tongue spinous process, other than the ridge, is rounded.
In some embodiments, the tongue spine has a drop-shaped cross-section.
Yet another aspect of the present invention provides a tongue spur appliance for wearing on a patient's mandibular teeth to correct the placement of the patient's tongue, comprising: a shell-shaped body forming a cavity for accommodating teeth; and the tongue thorn is arranged on the tongue side of the anterior tooth area of the shell-shaped main body, protrudes towards the tongue side and upwards at a certain angle, is in a pointed cone shape, has smooth peripheral surface, and forms a sharp ridge on the smooth peripheral surface, wherein the ridge faces downwards.
In some embodiments, the remainder of the circumference of the tongue spinous process, other than the ridge, is rounded.
In some embodiments, the tongue spine has a drop-shaped cross-section.
In some embodiments, the geometry of the cavity matches the patient's teeth.
In some embodiments, the tongue is integrally formed with the shell-like body.
Drawings
The above and other features of the present application will be further explained with reference to the accompanying drawings and detailed description thereof. It is appreciated that these drawings depict only several exemplary embodiments in accordance with the disclosure and are therefore not to be considered limiting of its scope. The drawings are not necessarily to scale and wherein like reference numerals refer to like parts, unless otherwise specified.
FIG. 1 schematically illustrates a tongue correction device in one embodiment of the present application;
FIG. 2 schematically illustrates the tongue of the tongue orthosis of FIG. 1; and
fig. 3 schematically shows the cross-sectional shape of the tongue prick shown in fig. 2.
Detailed Description
The following detailed description refers to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification. The exemplary embodiments mentioned in the description and the drawings are only for illustrative purposes and are not intended to limit the scope of the present application. Those skilled in the art, having benefit of this disclosure, will appreciate that many other embodiments can be devised which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present application. It should be understood that the aspects of the present application, as described and illustrated herein, may be arranged, substituted, combined, separated, and designed in a wide variety of different configurations, all of which are within the scope of the present application.
In order to solve the problems of the conventional tongue pricks, the inventors of the present application developed a new tongue prick and a tongue prick appliance provided with the same.
Referring to fig. 1, a tongue correction appliance 100 in one embodiment of the present application is schematically illustrated.
The lingual appliance 100 is an appliance worn on mandibular teeth and is generally one-piece shell-shaped forming a cavity for receiving the teeth, with lingual sides of portions corresponding to each of the 2-2 teeth (i.e., 4 anterior teeth) projecting upward at an angle to form the lingual spines 101.
In one embodiment, the geometry of the tooth-receiving cavity of the tongue appliance 100 can substantially match the current layout of the patient's teeth. In yet another embodiment, the lingual appliance 100 can also function as an orthodontic appliance with a tooth-receiving cavity having a geometry that substantially matches the target arrangement of the patient's teeth for the corresponding corrective step.
It will be appreciated in light of the present disclosure that the lingual appliance 100 may accommodate the entire dentition, or may cover only a portion of the dentition (e.g., only the teeth where the lingual spines are desired).
Referring to FIG. 2, the tongue 101 of the tongue orthosis 100 of FIG. 1 is schematically illustrated, and referring to FIG. 3, a cross-section A-A of the tongue 101 of FIG. 2 is schematically illustrated.
In one embodiment, the tongue 101 is substantially pointed and tapered, and has a substantially drop-shaped cross section, such that a sharp ridge 103 is formed on the periphery of the tongue 101, and the remainder of the periphery of the tongue 101 is rounded except for the sharp ridge 103.
In the tongue correction device 100 shown in fig. 1, the sharp ridge 103 of the tongue spinous process 101 faces downward, and in such a configuration, when the tongue of the patient touches the tip of the tongue spinous process 101, the sharp ridge 103 senses the stimulation of the sharp object, so that the tongue spinous process 101 can prevent the patient from placing the tongue at the tip of the tongue spinous process 101, and can prevent the patient from placing the tongue below the tongue spinous process 101.
It will be appreciated that the tongue 101 may have other cross-sectional shapes than a drop, so long as the rounded peripheral surface forms a sharp ridge on one side.
In one embodiment, the tongue orthosis 100 having the tongue 101 may be integrally formed by a hot embossing process. In another embodiment, the shell-shaped body of the tongue puncture appliance and the tongue puncture can be manufactured separately, and then the tongue puncture is fixed on the shell-shaped body of the tongue puncture appliance by means of adhesion or the like.
It will be appreciated that the location and number of tongue spines is not limited to the embodiment shown in fig. 1, and may be configured as desired for a particular situation, given the benefit of this disclosure.
It will be appreciated in the light of the present application that the shell-like body of the device may be of other shapes than the shell-like body of figure 1 which conforms to the patient's teeth, for example, the cavity in which the teeth are received may be a smooth through slot.
While various aspects and embodiments of the disclosure are disclosed herein, other aspects and embodiments of the disclosure will be apparent to those skilled in the art from consideration of the specification. The various aspects and embodiments disclosed herein are for purposes of illustration only and are not intended to be limiting. The scope and spirit of the application are to be determined only by the claims appended hereto.
Likewise, the various diagrams may illustrate an exemplary architecture or other configuration of the disclosed methods and systems that is useful for understanding the features and functionality that may be included in the disclosed methods and systems. The claimed subject matter is not limited to the exemplary architectures or configurations shown, but rather, the desired features can be implemented using a variety of alternative architectures and configurations. In addition, to the extent that flow diagrams, functional descriptions, and method claims do not follow, the order in which the blocks are presented should not be limited to the various embodiments which perform the recited functions in the same order, unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.
Unless otherwise expressly stated, the terms and phrases used herein, and variations thereof, are to be construed as open-ended as opposed to limiting. In some instances, the presence of an extensible term or phrases such as "one or more," "at least," "but not limited to," or other similar terms should not be construed as intended or required to imply a narrowing in instances where such extensible terms may not be present.
