9. The engine compartment cover of claim 8 further comprising a latch reinforcement plate fixedly connected to the latch cross member bracket.
10. The engine compartment cover of claim 9 wherein the distance H between the outer deck of the cover and the striker reinforcement plate is 100mm or less.
