Description

Plug connector housing with improved fire protection
Technical Field
The invention relates to a plug connector housing according to the preamble of independent claim 1. The invention also relates to a plug connector with such a plug connector housing.
Such a plug connector housing is mounted, for example, on an equipment housing and/or a switch cabinet. This is also referred to herein as a so-called flange housing, which is sealed with a flange seal.
Background
DE 202011105009U 1 shows a plug connector which can be mounted on a wall of an appliance. The plug connector can be plugged with a mating plug. The plug connector and the mating plug can be locked together by means of a locking clip. Such plug connectors are also commonly referred to as industrial plug connectors.
In order to seal the plug-in region between the plug connector and the mating plug, rubber seals are generally used. The elastic properties of the rubber are particularly important for the sealing effect. However, these rubber seals are very susceptible to heat and lose their sealing function immediately, in particular in the event of a fire in the machine and/or in the switchgear cabinet. In particular in the event of a fire, flame propagation or smoke leakage through the joint can occur, which occurs in particular if heat is applied in the region of the interface or contact plane of the plug connection.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
The object of the invention is to create a plug connector housing which has improved fire protection properties, but at the same time can be easily handled and advantageously manufactured.
This object is achieved by the subject matter of independent claim 1.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are given in the dependent claims.
According to the utility model discloses a plug connector casing has the side of connecting and pegs graft the side. The connection side has a cable outlet, for example, for connecting a cable. Alternatively, the plug connector housing can be mounted on the connection side, for example, to a wall of the device of the machine. The plug connector housing is also referred to as a mounting housing.
On the plug-in side, the plug connector housing is plugged or connected to a mating plug connector which is adapted thereto. For this purpose, locking means for locking the plug connector housing and the mating plug connector housing are generally provided on the plug connector housing. Two plug connector housings which are plugged into one another are also referred to as plug connections and form an interface. The plug connector housings contact each other in one plane in the region of the interface, i.e. in a so-called contact plane. The interface is usually protected by a seal against penetrating media, such as dust and water.
The plug connector housing has a connection side and a plug side. The safety seal is arranged on the plug-in side of the plug connector housing.
According to the utility model discloses a plug connector casing has safe sealing member for prevent the diffusion of fire and cigarette. During heating, the security seal experiences a volume increase that is several times its original volume. Of course, almost all solids expand during heating. However, this expansion is very significant for the safety seal according to the invention.
During heat build-up, the security seal expands to several times its original thickness and forms a thermally and mechanically stable foam layer with low thermal conductivity. The plug connector housing is thus hermetically sealed by the medium and prevents the spread of fire and smoke through the seams and cavities. The effect preferably starts at a temperature of about 190 ℃. The volume increase of the safety seal begins at a temperature of 190 ℃. At this temperature, a fire must be assumed in the application in which the plug connector housing is installed.
Preferably, the volume increase of the safety seal ends at a temperature ≦ 550 ℃. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the volume increase of the safety seal is 20 to 26 times its original volume in the temperature range from 190 ℃ up to 550 ℃.
Preferably, the security seal has a layer thickness of 1.5mm up to 3mm, particularly preferably the security seal has a layer thickness of 1.8mm up to 2.5 mm. This layer thickness range has proven to be sufficient for sealing the interface of the plug connection in the event of a fire.
Advantageously, the expansion pressure of the safety seal is 0.8 to 1.9N/mm at a layer thickness of 1.5mm up to 2mm2. The expansion pressure of the safety seal is 2.4 to 3.2N/mm at a layer thickness of from 2.1mm up to 3mm2. These expansion pressure ranges have proven suitable for use in the event of a fireSealing the leak in case of a disaster.
Preferably, the thermal conductivity of the security seal is 0.238W/(mK). The thermal insulation of the security seal is thereby particularly high.
Advantageously, the security seal has a fastening opening, through which the security seal can be fastened to the plug connector housing. The loss prevention of the safety seal is thereby ensured.
In a particularly preferred variant of the invention, the plug connector housing has a fixing frame which can be fixed to the plug connector housing, wherein the safety seal is arranged between the fixing frame and the plug connector housing. By means of the fixing frame, the security seal is positioned optimally and in particular in a slip-proof manner on the plug connector housing.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a holding frame 2 with inserted plug connector modules 4. A total of four similar plug connector modules 3 are mounted in the holding frame 2 shown here. Of course, different plug connector modules 3 can also be mounted in the holding frame 2. The frame size may also vary and provide space for one of a different number of four plug connector modules.
The holding frame 3 is made of a metal material and has a substantially rectangular basic shape. Openings 4 are located in the corner regions of the rectangular basic shape, by means of which openings the holding frame 2 can be mounted into the plug connector housing 1 or into the mounting housing 1', as can be seen in fig. 4 and 5. For this purpose, the plug connector housing 1 or the mounting housing 1 'has a thread aligned with the opening 4, so that the holding frame 2 can be fixed in the plug connector housing 1 or in the mounting housing 1' by means of a threaded connection.
The safety seal 5 according to the invention is shown in fig. 2 in a slightly perspective view. The safety seal 5 has a frame-shaped basic shape which corresponds to the frame shape of the holding frame 2. The security seal 5 is placed on the holding frame 2. The security seal 5 has in each case an opening 6 in its corner region, which is aligned with the opening 4 of the holding frame 2. The opening 6 of the safety seal 5 has a larger diameter than the opening 4 of the holding frame 2. The screw head 7 can therefore be inserted through the opening 6 of the security seal 5 when the holding frame 2 is screwed down with the plug connector housing 1 or the mounting housing 1', without damaging the security seal.
The fixing frame 8 according to the invention is shown in fig. 3 in a slightly perspective view. The fixing frame 8 has a frame-like basic shape corresponding to the frame shape of the holding frame 2. The fixing frame 8 is formed of a metal material. The fixing frames 8 each have an opening 9 in their corner region, which is aligned with the opening 4 of the holding frame 2. The fixing frame 8 is placed on the security seal 5. The safety seal 5 is located between the holding frame 2 and the fixing frame 8. The opening 9 of the fixing frame has a larger diameter than the opening 4 of the holding frame 2. The diameter of the opening 9 of the fixing frame 8 corresponds to the diameter of the opening 6 of the safety seal 5. The screw head 7 can therefore be inserted through the opening 9 of the fixing frame 8 when the holding frame 2 is screwed to the plug connector housing 1 or the mounting housing 1'.
The security seal 5 and the fixing frame 8 have openings 10, 11, respectively, at their narrow sides, which are aligned with the threads of the holding frame 2. In fig. 1, the corresponding thread of the holding frame 2 is covered by a screw 12 located therein. The holding frame 2, the security seal 5 and the fixing frame 8 can be connected or fixed together by means of the openings 10, 11 and the threads and the screws 12. The sandwich structure formed by the holding frame 2 together with the plug connector module 3, the security seal 5 and the fixing frame 8 is installed into the plug connector housing 1 or the installation housing 1' and screwed together therewith.
The plug connector housing 1 and the mounting housing 1 'have projections with threaded holes 13, which are each positioned diagonally to one another, with which the plug connector housing 1 or the mounting housing 1' can be fixed together with a mating plug connector housing. This fixing is achieved by means of a threaded connection. In the event of a fire, in particular due to heat, a gap, a so-called seam, is formed at the interface of the plug connector housing 1 or the mounting housing 1' and the mating plug connector, which seam is closed by the reaction of the security seal 5 described above.
The terms plug connector housing 1 and mounting housing 1' are to be understood synonymously within the scope of the present application. The mating plug connector housing can also be a plug connector housing or a mounting housing.
Although the various aspects or features of the invention are shown in the drawings in combination, respectively, it will be clear to the skilled person that the combinations shown and discussed are not the only possible combinations, unless otherwise specified. In particular, units or feature complexes from different embodiments that correspond to one another can be exchanged for one another.
