离合总泵、分泵相当于两个液压缸，总泵上有进出油管，分泵只有一根管。 踩下离合器，总泵的压力传输到分泵，分泵工作，分离拨叉将离合器压盘及片脱离飞轮，这时就可以开始换档。松开离合器，分泵停止工作，离合器压盘及片和飞轮接触，动力传输继续，分泵的油回流进油壶。 当换档困难，分离不彻底时，需要检测离合器总泵，分泵有无渗漏油现象，有问题及时解决，降低磨损。 其他做相应检查。
