Abstract
一种用白光为物体照明的方法和装置,按照该方法是用至少两种不同色彩的光为物体照明。测量光的强度,然后根据至少由两种不同色彩提供的测量的照明强度来调节单色光所提供的照明的强度,从而改善物体照明的白色平衡。
Description
本发明涉及白照明,具体涉及到显示器的白照明。
人眼能感觉光的三种主要成分:兰,红和绿。视力根据各主要成分的强度比例产生被观者感知到的视觉。由于视力是基于强度的比例,要将被显示物体反射的光的主要颜色成分的比例与环境光的颜色相比较。
在显示器上显示的影像颜色看上去应该是自然的,即主要成分的比例应该符合该物体在自然光下显示时所反射的比例。这就需要在对物体成像时将主要成分之间的平衡即白色平衡调节到自然。因此,在需要重放影像时,显示器应该能自然产生正确的显示影像,即主要成分的强度比例应该是正确的。
在需要显示影像时,可以使光射向观众产生影像。以电视为例,它是用三个色彩投影仪形成彩色图像。另一种方法是在表面上形成图像,用环境光或扫过表面的光将表面的各部位上的图像显现给观众。一个例子就是液晶显示器即LCD。这些显示器的缺点是在暗淡光下难以辨别显示的影像(或文本)。正是为此才往往要为液晶显示器提供背景或正面照明,使白光从液晶显示器上形成影像的部位反射或是通过而照亮显示器。然而,照明不应该歪曲图像的颜色造成其看上去不自然,这正是必须采用白光照明的原因。
产生白光的途径有多种多样,但是,以移动台为例,通常是采用比较小的低功耗部件为显示器提供适当的照明,美国专利US5,998,925公开了一种用白LED(发光二极管)部件为显示器照明的例子。所述的白LED是为宽带的蓝LED涂敷黄磷使LED发射白光而制成的。磷涂层会吸收蓝LED产生的一定强度,并且校正光的色彩使其变白,然而同时也会将一些光功率转换成热量。事实上,如US5,731,794中所述,用主要成分为色彩的LED配合产生白光能够获得较好的效能。然而,用不同色彩的LED难以产生白光,因为LED的老化和温度会改变其亮度。
除上述问题之外,白色显示器不仅因规定的显示器照度还会因环境光的影响而改变。在室内的白炽灯光下,现有技术中采用背景或正面照明的台式计算机的LCD显示器看上去稍带蓝色,而在室外看起来则稍微发红或发黄。这种现象是因环境光光谱分布的改变而造成的。
本发明所提供的方法和装置能够避免上述问题或是减少其影响。
按照本发明的一方面,提供了一种产生为物体照明的白光的方法,按照该方法,产生具有第一光功率的第一色光和具有第二光功率的第二色光为物体照明,该方法的特征在于包括以下步骤
测量第一光功率;
测量第二光功率;并且
至少根据至少是第一和第二色光的光功率来调节至少是第一或第二光功率,从而调节物体照明的白色平衡。
本文中所述的光功率是指光源每单位时间发出的光能。测量光功率是指对落在一个特定面积上的光功率或强度的测量,在与光源相距特定距离处进行测量,并且与发光效率有关。
本方法的优点是提供了一种具有白色平衡的照明,能够根据例如是光源或温度变化给照明带来的变化进行校正。另外,该方法允许用多种不同色彩的光为物体照明,同时还能为照明维持良好的白色平衡。照明的效率比采用单色光源并且用色彩滤光器吸收某些光谱的情况要好。
最好是产生至少三种不同色彩的光为物体照明。优选的色彩包括蓝,红和绿。这样能够提供接近自然光的照明。
该方法还包括测量物体环境光的白色平衡,并配合着其他发光效率中的至少一个去调节所要产生的由至少一种色彩构成的光的光功率,使得光功率较好地符合对环境光测得的白色平衡。这样就能补偿环境光变化对物体色彩的影响。
在该方法中最好是交替测量不同色彩的上述光功率,采用至少是部分地共用处理装置。采用共用处理装置使得本发明的方法价格低廉并且较容易在今后的数字设备中实施。
在照明期间最好是按照周期性复发的间隔或是连续地调节物体照明的白色平衡。
最好是按照规定的延迟来控制物体照明的白色平衡,以实现稳定控制。应该按小步幅执行控制。
采用第一测量单元测量相对于有关的光有效规格化的照明中第一色彩光的光功率,确定至少一个个别测量单元的特性,并且用来校正以后的测量。这样就能减少按环境光和照明测量中的差别调节白色平衡所带来的误差。
用该方法照明的物体例如是显示器,该方法还包括在显示器上显示可视信息。
所述的强度最好是用布置在显示器附近的测量装置来测量。
按照本发明的第二方面,提供了一种用白光为物体照明的装置,该装置包括:
第一照明装置,用来产生具有第一光功率的第一色光;
第二照明装置,用来产生具有第二光功率的第二色光;
该装置的特征在于进一步包括
测量第一光功率的装置;
测量第二光功率的装置;以及
至少根据至少是第一和第二光功率来调节至少是第一或第二光功率,从而调节物体照明的白色平衡的装置。
该装置最好是包括更多照明装置来产生至少一种不同色彩的光。最好是用至少三种不同色彩的光为物体照明,包括兰,红和绿光。这样能提供接近自然光的照明。
该装置还可以包括用来测量物体环境光白色平衡的装置,并且用来调节与测得的环境光白色平衡有关的至少一个光功率。这样就能补偿环境光变化对物体色彩的影响。
该装置还包括至少是部分的共用处理装置,用来交替测量不同的光功率。还采用至少是部分的共用处理装置去调节至少一个光功率。这至少是部分的共用处理装置使得本发明的装置价格低廉并且较容易实施。
该装置在照明期间最好是按照周期性复发的间隔或是连续地调节物体照明的白色平衡。

本发明适合用于不同物体,例如是移动台,电子图书,数字照相机,数字摄像机,便携计算机,具有背景照明和具有正面照明的显示器。

图1表示本发明第一实施例的背景照明***10。背景照明***10包括一个透明的色彩液晶显示面板11,液晶显示器后面的一个光导12,连接到光导用于背景照明的一个色彩平衡传感器13,以及用于环境光的色彩平衡传感器14。两个色彩平衡传感器均与第一差分放大器15,第二差分放大器17和一个发光体18串联连接。背景照明***10还包括用来操作发光体18的可调节电源19。两个色彩平衡传感器13和14均包括用来测量主要成分即红,绿,蓝光的R(红),G(绿),B(蓝)单元。在标号后面为各单元标注有相应的字母。第一和第二差分放大器各自包括用于各主要成分的相应的三个差分单元。发光体18还包括相应的三个不同单元,用来形成不同的主要成分。以下要详细解释该***的操作。

图3表示本发明第三实施例的正面照明***。在图3的正面照明***中,光导12被置于显示器的正面,由正面为显示器照明。
图4表示本发明第四实施例的正面照明***,第一彩色平衡传感器43被集成在液晶显示面板11内。现有技术中知道可以用LED测量光的强度。还知道不同色彩的LED对不同的主要成分具有不同的灵敏度。还知道LED不需要能够发送和接收相同的主要成分。然而,可以用液晶显示面板11的一部分作为第一实施例中的第一彩色平衡传感器13,在这种情况下不需要单独的传感器。在这种情况下,若使用显示器来测量色彩平衡,在液晶显示器被用做彩色平衡传感器的那一部分上不显示可视信息。
图5的方框图表示本发明第五实施例的一个移动台50。移动台包括中央处理器单元CPU,用做CPU的工作存储器的存储器RAM,非易失性存储器ROM,它包括处理器的操作指令。移动台还包括一个显示器DSPL,为显示器照明的显示器照明53,以及显示器照明测量框52和背景光测量框51。处理器根据背景光测量框51和显示器照明测量框52提供的信息控制显示器照明。

中央处理器单元CPU指示第一复用器改变目前连接到AD转换器的那一测量单元(13R-13B,14R-14B),将各个测量单元反复连接到AD转换器。CPU这样就能用AD转换器确定有关照明和环境光的各个光成分的强度。CPU按照预定的间隔反复计算新的控制参数,用来控制照明,并通过第二复用器MUX2将它们发送给对应的控制单元63R-63B。这样就能用CPU在彼此独立的时间点上控制第一和第二复用器。以下要参照图7具体描述CPU的操作。
图7的流程图表示用来调节图6的照明***的一种方法。这一流程图包括调节***的基本构造和与其正常操作有关的相位,对它的描述有助于理解本发明。
图6的照明***是基于一种渐进迭代程序,相对于环境光的光成分强度比值测量照明的光成分比值中的差别,并且调节照明使照明的白色度能够尽量与环境光相称。在本实施例中,照明的亮度也就是光成分强度之和是同时调节的。还可以集中调节亮度,在环境光弱时增加亮度,而在良好照明环境下减弱或完全关闭。按照本发明的一个变更实施例,这是通过试图将照明亮度和环境光亮度的乘积标准化来执行的,照明亮度与环境光亮度成反比。
应该注意到以下给出的数值是随意选择的,实际中主要是根据测量装置的灵敏度来形成常数。
以下要参照表1具体描述图7的流程图。根据一种按展开程序执行的模拟计算,表中表示了7流程图表示的操作方法。
流程图的起点是方框“开始”。在下一方框中为各个光成分测量单元(总共有3+3=6)确定校正系数,用来校正光成分测量单元灵敏度的个别变化。为了简要,在本实施例中忽略了等级校正系数的作用,尽管还有一种实施例是不仅用校正系数还要用等级校正系数来校正测量单元的输出后者是在灵敏度校正之前对测量的累加。
除了校正系数之外,在调节和确定中还要用到滤波常数,该常数会影响到速度也就是调节的稳定性(低振荡趋势)。另外要结合初始配置来确定初始控制系数。在本实施例中,该控制系数是在下一轮调节中用来控制各个照明光源强度的系数。
在通常是在制造厂中执行的上述测量之后,将装置投入使用并且开始实际调节程序。首先测量照明光成分和环境光成分的强度(R,G,B),并且乘以校正系数产生校正的强度。
接着计算校正的强度而获得亮度。然后计算代表亮度的各个光成分校正后的强度的比例,这样就能获得光成分的相互比值。例如,表1首先确定亮度中红色成分R的比例:它相对于环境光是0.215,而相对于照明是0.170。其比值是0.215/0.170=1.263。表1还包括由比例的比值计算而得的标准偏差,并且表示照明与环境光之间在白色度上计算出的差别。这一标准偏差越大,所确定的差别就越大。
然后计算相对于目标的照明亮度比例,此后用来瞄准该目标调节亮度。在表1的例子中,亮度的目标值是100(按表中所用的单位),而亮度比例的第一测量(亮度比值)是目标的70.47%。
接着要计算新的控制系数。这一计算是分两段执行的。首先计算按照比例的比值之差校正的新科学化系数然后对控制系数执行等级校正将亮度调节到理想的等级。
对应着光成分根据环境光和照明的比例比值由先前的控制系数计算(用于R,G和B成分的)各个新的比值校正控制系数。新的比值校正控制系数是:先前控制系数×(1-比值校正系数+比值校正系数×比值)表I表示由此计算出的新控制系数:

换句话说,比值校正有助于增加由成分R和G提供的照明并减少由成分B提供的照明。通过为滤光调节提供比值校正系数就能缓慢完成这种调节,由此提供改进的调节稳定性。
在比值校正之后为下一轮控制计算用来控制照明的等级校正控制系数。与比值校正类似,等级校正也采用滤光来稳定调节,也就是降低振荡趋势。例如可以用以下公式来计算R的等级校正控制系数:
比值校正控制系数×(1-等级校正系数+等级校正系数×(1/照明的亮度比值))。
计算完等级校正控制系数,就用它们代替前面的控制系数来计算照明光成分的强度。假设是采用电子部件来照明,例如是线性操作的LED,强度按照与控制系数相同的比例改变。
在下一轮调节的开头,再次相对于环境光和照明测量光成分的强度。在本例中,相对于环境光成分的各个先前测量值的比例改变是随机确定的,由以下公式提供一个新“测量值”:
(1+(RAND()-0.5)×随机系数_1)×先前测量值。
同样要测量照明成分的新强度。这一新强度在比例上不同于先前的强度,用来改变控制系数。为了表示在调节和测量中有可能出现的误差,要为新计算的照明测量值赋予一些随机性来干扰调节。照明中R成分的新测得的(未经校正)测量值是按以下公式计算的:
(1+(RAND()-0.5)×随机系数_2)×先前测量值等级校正控制系数/先前控制系数。
在新测量值的基础上再次计算校正的测量结果,然后用该结果产生新的等级校正控制系数,依此类推。
参照图7,以下的表1表示了这种调节方法在操作中的模拟实例。

在表II中,在若干轮调节过程中遵循表I的模拟。表II表示如何通过调节来减少亮度相对于目标的差别(等级差别%)和光成分比值的偏差(标准偏差)。在每一轮调节中,对应着各个光成分为光源计算新的控制系数,然后用这些系数去操作光源。

表II还表示不同色彩成分的标准偏差比等级差下降得要快。其原因是在滤波中采用了较高的系数。最好能频繁执行各轮调节并采用滤波将亮度的改变控制在尽量小,在调节操作中使照明不会出现闪烁,并且快捷地执行改变。
按照本发明的一个变更实施例,按照照明方向的改变提供不同值的滤波系数,照明亮度的增加比减少要快。这对于将本发明用于移动台是有益的,它可能突然移动到阴影中而难以查阅显示器。另一方面,照明过于明亮的显示器不会对观看显示器带来任何重要问题,仅仅是电池消耗更快而已。因此,选择正确的滤波系数对器件的人机工程学和能耗都有影响。
上述的控制系数能够采用PWM控制(脉宽调制)来调节照明。控制各个光源用足够高频率(例如是2570或5000Hz)的脉冲光为光导照明,使其看上去没有闪烁。采用PWM信号实现照明,作为各序列中具体的控制系数相关部分X。可以用以下公式获得X:
X=控制系数/控制系数max,
其中的控制系数max通常是预定的常数,它超过控制系数的正常最大值。控制系数max可以是所有控制系数的共同系数,或是为各个先成分单独设置。
按照本发明的一个变更实施例,该***包括用来存储先前的色彩平衡测量值的存储器。存储器使***能够调节照明的色彩平衡,即使是在环境光强度对任何测量都太低的状态下。
还可以用存储器实现本发明的另一种变更实施例,相对于人眼的感觉用一种>20Hz的高频脉冲光为液晶显示面板照明。在照明的间歇中也采用色彩平衡计测量环境光的色彩平衡,并在照明过程中测量照明的色彩平衡。这样就能在需要评估照明和环境光的光成分的强度时完全避免因测量单元之间的差别造成的测量误差。这样就能省去上述的初步校准而不会有损于器件的白色平衡。尽管这样会稍稍改变亮度调节,因为个别测量单元的偏差,可以为用户提供人工亮度调节手段,也能使用户获得理想的亮度目标等级。
以上的说明书参照实例解释了本发明的具体实施例。本领域的技术人员都能看出本发明不仅限于所述实施例的细节,无需偏离本发明的特征还能用其他变更的方案实现本发明。具体的实施例应该被理解为示意性的而并非限制。本发明的变更方案及其用途仅仅受附带的权利要求书的限制,在权利要求书中限定的各种实施例,还有等效的实施例都应被包括在本发明的范围之内。
Claims (13)
1.一种产生为物体照明的白光的方法,按照该方法,产生具有第一光功率的第一色光和具有第二光功率的第二色光为物体照明,该方法的特征在于包括以下步骤
测量第一光功率;
测量第二光功率;并且
至少根据至少是第一和第二色光的光功率来调节至少是第一或第二光功率,从而调节物体照明的白色平衡。
2.按照权利要求1的方法,其特征是产生至少三种不同色彩的光为物体照明。
3.按照权利要求2的方法,其特征是还要测量物体环境光的白色平衡,并与其他光功率中的至少一个相关地去调节所要产生的至少一种色彩的光的光功率,使得光功率较好地符合对环境光测得的白色平衡。
4.一种用白光为物体照明的装置(10),该装置包括
第一照明装置(18R),用来产生具有第一光功率的第一色光;
第二照明装置(18G),用来产生具有第二光功率的第二色光;
其特征在于进一步包括
测量第一光功率的装置(13R);
测量第二光功率的装置(13G);以及
至少根据至少是第一和第二光功率来调节至少是第一或第二光功率,从而调节物体照明的白色平衡的装置。
5.按照权利要求4的装置,其特征是该装置还包括用来测量物体环境光白色平衡的装置(14R,14G,14B),以及
用来调节与测得的环境光白色平衡有关的至少一个光功率的装置(15R,17R)。
6.按照权利要求4或5的装置,其特征是该装置还包括至少是部分的共用处理装置(62,CPU),用来交替测量不同的光功率。
7.按照权利要求4-6之一的装置,其特征是在照明过程中用该装置反复调节物体照明的白色平衡。
8.按照权利要求4-7之一的装置,其特征是该装置采用第一测量单元测量相对于有关的光有效规格化的照明中第一色彩光的光功率,确定至少一个个别测量单元的特性,并且用来校正以后的测量。
9.按照权利要求4-8之一的装置,其特征在于物体是一个用来显示可视信息的显示器(11)。
10.按照权利要求9的装置,其特征在于用来测量第一光功率的装置和测量第二光功率的装置被布置在显示器的附近。
11.按照权利要求9或10的装置,其特征在于将一部分显示器(43)用作测量至少一个光功率的装置。
12.按照权利要求4到11之一的装置,其特征在于安排至少一组照明装置按照PWM(脉宽调制)-信号使光闪烁。
13.按照权利要求4到12之一的装置,其特征在于该装置是从以下一组设备中选出的一种:移动台,电子照相机,电子摄像机,电子图书,便携计算机,具有背景照明的显示器,具有正面照明的显示器,以及艺术作品的照明设备。
