Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明一般涉及有机发光二极管(OLED)显示器,具体涉及具有触摸屏的有机发光二极管显示器。
背景技术
新型电子器件可在减小尺寸的同时增加功能。通过不断将越来越多的功能集成在电子器件中,可降低成本、增加可靠性。触摸屏常常与诸如阴极射线管(CRT)、液晶显示器(LCD)、等离子显示器和电致发光显示器等常规软显示器(soft display)组合使用。触摸屏被制成单独的器件、并机械装配到显示器的观看表面。
Armstrong申请的US2002/0175900 A1(2002年11月28日公开)记述了信息显示***中使用的触摸***,该触摸***包括用于限定与显示器的信息显示区的尺寸和形状相对应的开口的框架。在每一侧上设有发光装置阵列,沿每一光发射装置阵列设有光透射棱镜,使得从光发射装置发射的光横跨触摸输入区被引导。该***还包括位于框架每个拐角的光检测装置。在优选实施例中,光发射装置是有机发光二极管。
当这种触摸屏与平板显示器一起使用时,触摸屏简单覆盖在平板显示器上,两者被诸如外壳等机械安装装置连接在一起。这些将触摸屏与OLED显示器结合起来的已有结构的方案具有很多缺陷。使用框架将增加部件数量、重量和装置的成本。触摸屏与显示器之间的分离将增加厚度。与更加集成的方案相比,显示器和触摸屏中过多的部件还会增加成本并降低性能。另外,对于触摸屏需要设置单独的电缆也会增加制造成本。
因此,有必要改进触摸屏平板显示***,使装置的重量最小化、除去多余部件、降低成本、消除专门的机械安装结构、提高可靠性并使图像质量下降减到最小。
发明内容
根据本发明所述需要可通过所提出的OLED显示器和触摸屏***满足,该显示器和触摸屏***包括:一基底;一OLED显示器,包括形成在该基底上的可独立寻址的OLED阵列;一触摸屏,包括形成在基底上的OLED光发射器和形成在显示器的基底上的与相对光发射器位于显示器另一侧的光传感器,围绕显示器设置并处于光发射器和光传感器上方的光学装置,用于将从光发射器发射的光横跨显示器引导到光传感器。
本发明的显示器的优点是可提供具有较小重量、尺寸、制造成本及较高可靠性的薄而轻的易于制造的显示器。

具体实施方式
参看图1,根据本发明一个实施例的集成光学触摸屏的顶发射OLED显示器装置包括设有封闭盖44的矩形基底42。位于该基底上的OLED显示器60具有电极和多层诸如已有技术中已知的空穴注入层和电子传输层的材料层(未示出)。从显示器发射的光49穿过封闭盖44或从基底42被反射、并通过封闭盖44发射。在矩形基底42的一侧是红外OLED光发射器6 2的阵列。红外OLED光发射器是已知的,并可例如将诸如钕或铒等稀土离子对OLED装置掺杂而制成。在矩形基底42的相对侧是红外光传感器64的阵列。优选地,利用与制造OLED显示器相似的有机半导体技术制作该红外光传感器。另外,可利用薄膜无机半导体技术制作该传感器。该传感器可包括改善其频率响应的滤波器。
如图2所示,第二对发射器和传感器阵列设置在矩形基底42的另外两侧。根据本发明,光发射器62和传感器64均集成在作为OLED显示器60的同一基底上。诸如反射镜66等光学装置直接设置在封闭盖44上、并位于将光发射器62发射的光横跨显示器直接导向光传感器64的发射器和传感器阵列之上。可利用相对封闭盖44具有约45度的反射面的玻璃或塑料棱镜构成反射镜66。另外,可在相对封盖44约45度角的位置支承该反射镜。触摸屏控制器(未示出)被连接到触摸屏以控制发射器62和传感器64。
在图3a、b和c中,示出了光发射器62和传感器64的另一结构的顶视图。在图3a所示的结构中,光发射器62位于两个邻近显示器60的相邻边的阵列中,传感器64位于两个邻近显示器60的另外两个边的阵列中。在图3b所示的结构中,光发射器62和传感器64交错设置在围绕显示器60的阵列中。在图3c所示的结构中,与Armstrong的US专利申请2002/0175900所示的结构相似,光发射器阵列位于显示区域60的四周和传感器64位于显示器60的拐角处。
在操作中,红外OLED光发射器62在所有方向上发射光。该光被位于发射器上方的45度角反射镜66反射、并在OLED显示器60表面的上方通过。在从OLED显示器表面的上方通过后,该光被位于传感器64上方的45度角反射镜反射到红外传感器64。传感器64检测该光、并产生反馈信号,该反馈信号被传送到触摸屏控制器、并以常规方式解码以确定阻挡发射器62所发射光的物体的位置。由于触摸屏元件与显示器一起被集成在公共基底上,所以触摸屏和显示器两者可使用单个连接器。触摸屏控制器和显示器控制器的元件可集成在该基底上。
由于每个红外OLED光发射器62在所有方向上发射光,所以单个发射器可与多个传感器64一起使用以检测触摸。或者,多个发射器可与单个传感器64一起使用以检测触摸。发射器和传感器可被连续地或共同地激励,以便在包括高环境光、功率操作、噪声环境、或高性能模式的多种情况下使触摸屏的性能最佳化。
发射器可被连续地激励以提供多重信号,从而提高结果的信噪比、并提供阻碍红外光传输的任何触摸动作的更详细的映像。在另一种模式中,发射器被同时激励,传感器64所检测的相对光量被用于检测触摸。在这种设置中,发射器62可以是具有单个控制信号的单长发射器。
使用多个发射器和传感器可大大加强传感装置。单点缺陷可被消除,凸面形状可被检测。综合所有传感器从各个发射器检测的信号,则可进行高可靠性操作。红外信号本身可被调制以克服背景噪声、或可对红外光的不同频率进行发射和检测。
参看图4,位于发射器62和传感器64上方的45度角反射镜66可由封装组合在一起的显示器和触摸屏的外壳70上的反射面构成。参看图5,引导从光发射器62发射的光横跨显示器而到达光传感器64的光学装置可包括光管72。
参看图6,根据本发明另一实施例,与光触摸屏集成在一起的底发射OLED显示器装置包括具有封闭盖44的矩形基底42。位于该基底上的OLED显示器60具有电极和多层诸如已有技术中已知的空穴注入层和电子传输层的材料层(未示出)。从显示器发射的光49直接穿过基底42或从封闭盖44反射、并通过基底42。
由于本发明对于触摸屏不需要独立的框架或基底,所以根据本发明可组合在一起的触摸屏和OLED显示器装置的重量、尺寸(厚度)和成本被减小。
Claims (20)
1.一种有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,包括:
a)一基底;
b)一有机发光二极管显示器,包括形成在所述基底上的可独立寻址的有机发光二极管阵列;
c)一触摸屏,包括形成在所述基底上的有机发光二极管光发射器和形成在相对光发射器位于显示器另一侧的形成于所述基底上的光传感器,围绕所述显示器并处于所述光发射器和光传感器上方的光学装置,用于将从所述光发射器发射的光横跨该显示器引导到所述光传感器。
2.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该有机发光二极管光发射器是可独立寻址有机发光二极管的线性阵列,该光传感器是光检测元件的线性阵列。
3.如权利要求2的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该有机发光二极管光发射器的有机发光二极管和该光检测元件被交错设置在多个线性阵列中。
4.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该有机发光二极管光发射器是线性有机发光二极管,该光传感器是光检测元件的线性阵列。
5.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该有机发光二极管显示器是顶发射显示器。
6.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该有机发光二极管显示器是底发射显示器。
7.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该有机发光二极管光发射器发射红外光。
8.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该光学装置是45度角反射镜。
9.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,还包括围绕该有机发光二极管显示器的框架,该45度角反射镜被该框架支承。
10.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,还包括围绕该有机发光二极管显示器的框架,该45度角反射镜形成在该框架上。
11.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该光学装置是纤维光学装置。
12.如权利要求2的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,还包括用于连续激励该有机发光二极管光发射器的有机发光二极管的电子控制装置。
13.如权利要求2的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,还包括用于同时激励该有机发光二极管光发射器的有机发光二极管的电子控制装置。
14.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,还包括用于按预定瞬时图案中激励该有机发光二极管光发射器,并对来自该光传感器的输出进行滤波以检测该预定图案的电子控制装置。
15.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,还包括用于控制该有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏的单元式电子控制装置。
16.如权利要求15的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该电子控制装置形成在该基底上。
17.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该光传感器是无机光检测元件。
18.如权利要求17的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该无机光检测元件是硅光检测元件。
19.如权利要求1的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,其特征在于,该光传感器是有机光传感器。
20.如权利要求10的有机发光二极管显示器和触摸屏***,包括用于该显示器的外壳,其特征在于,该框架是该外壳的一部分。
