含有光泽颜料的胶印油墨都有生产运行稳定性问题的缺点。这种油墨会很快地在墨印***、印刷板和胶板上聚集或沉积,意味着一般不可能进行10,000张无问题的生产运行。主要问题在于由于其片状结构以及特有的化学/物理表面性质,光泽颜料、特别是珠光颜料很易于在印刷油墨中结块,其中颜料在油墨中按堆叠方式一个叠在另一个上面,由于其附着力强,很难将其分开。此外,在校样上提供的光泽通常不能令人满意,这可归于没有足够的颜料输送到印刷品上。在墨印***、印刷板和胶板的输送线上,油墨中的颜料逐渐损耗。颜料在印刷板和胶板的暴露点上积聚并导致堆积。
在DE-A-4446456中已经公开了含有珠光颜料和球形粒子的颜料的制备。EM工业和Mearl公司的出版物中介绍了BiOCl颜料在印刷油墨中的应用。用于胶印的含有珠光颜料的制剂具有高光泽,但缺点是依所用的粘合剂而定,印刷中珠光颜料很易于迁移到缓冲溶液中。印刷过程中BiOCl颜料被研碎,结果颜料的光学性能大部分丧失了。
本发明的目的是提供颜料制剂,优选地用于印刷油墨、特别是胶印油墨,其中含有光泽颜料,但没有上述的缺点。
现已令人惊讶地发现,如果在颜料制剂中除光泽颜料外还含有BiOCl颜料和球形粒子,迁移到缓冲溶液中的颜料会减少,光泽效果质量和输送到印刷油墨中的颜料粒子的量都会提高。
本发明的颜料制剂与先有技术中只含有珠光颜料或只含有BiOCl颜料的胶印制剂相比,具有以下优点:
-高光泽
-更紧密的印制图像
-更好的颜料输送
-更少的颜料迁移到缓冲溶液中
-更强的遮盖力
因此,本发明涉及含有BiOCl颜料、一种或多种光泽颜料、球形粒子以及如需要来自于印刷环节的添加剂的颜料制剂。
由于BiOCl颜料和光泽颜料的组合,在印刷油墨中可以达到显著增强的彩色效果。BiOCl和光泽颜料的比优选地为99∶1到1∶99,特别优选地为70∶30到30∶70。本发明的颜料制剂优选地含有基于制剂40到99.8%重量、特别优选地含有70到99.5%重量的BiOCl和光泽颜料。
用于胶印的BiOCl颜料可从市场上买到,如从Engelhard以Mearlite Ultra Fine OFS为商品名以及以Bi-Flair66a为商品名从Merck KGaA购买。市售的BiOCl颜料的粒径为1-50微米。本发明的颜料制剂中,粒径为5-20微米的BiOCl颜料特别适当。
本发明的颜料制剂也可以用糊状的BiOCl颜料。同粉状的BiOCl颜料相比,这些分散体具有很高的银色光泽、高透明度且易于分散。蓖麻油、硝化纤维、矿物油和醇酸树脂中的BiOCl糊特别适宜。
本发明的颜料制剂的另一个重要成分是光泽颜料。例如颜料制剂可含有不同光泽颜料的混合物,以达到一定的彩色效果。
使用的光泽颜料优选地为基于片状、透明或半透明基层的颜料,例如页硅酸盐,如云母、合成云母、SiO2薄片、玻璃薄片、TiO2薄片、Al2O3薄片、滑石、绢云母、高岭土;覆有稀土金属硫化物如Ce2S3,覆有有色或无色金属氧化物如TiO2、钛的低氧化物、钛的氮氧化物、假板钛矿、Fe2O3、Fe3O4、SnO2、Cr2O3、ZnO、CuO、NiO及其它金属氧化物的单一物质或混合物形式的均一层或连续多层(多层颜料)的玻璃或其它硅酸盐材料。例如在德国专利和专利申请1467468、1959998、2009566、2214454、2215191、2244298、2313331、2522572、3137808、3137809、3151343、3151354、3151355、3211602、3235017和P3842330中公开了珠光颜料,如可从德国达姆施塔特的Merck KGaA买到的商品名为Iriodin的颜料。
特别优选的颜料制剂含有TiO2-、Fe2O3-或TiO2/Fe2O3-包覆的云母、Al2O3、玻璃或SiO2薄片。如WO93/08237(湿法化学包覆)或DE-A19614637(化学气相沉积法)所述,可将SiO2薄片进行包覆。EP0763573A1中公开了Al2O3薄片。DE-A19810317中公开了覆有一种或多种稀土金属硫化物的片状基层。
有金属效果的颜料同样适用,特别是用于水基或含溶剂体系的改质铝薄片,如Eckart出售的用于水基应用的商品名为RotovarioAqua或Stapa Hydroxal的颜料,以及来自于BASF的商品名为Variocrom和Paliocrom的颜料,特别是来自于EP-A0681009A1、EP-A0632110A1和EP-A0634458A1的颜料以及LCP(液晶聚合物)颜料。同样适用的有本领域技术人员都知道的全息颜料和有金属包覆的片状颜料。这种颜料在Flex、BASF、Eckart和Schlenk有售。
本发明的颜料制剂可含有一种或多种光泽颜料,通过使用至少两种不同的光泽颜料,有可能达到特殊的彩色和光泽效果。
除了珠光颜料和BiOCl颜料,本发明的颜料制剂还可含有碳黑粒子、荧光颜料和/或有机有色颜料。颜料制剂优选地由50-100%重量的BiOCl及光泽颜料和0-50%重量的碳黑粒子、荧光颜料和/或有色颜料组成。但是,所有颜料成分在颜料制剂中的含量不能超过99.4%重量。此外,还可能加入能进行产品识别的物质和粒子(示踪剂)。
JP62-143984中已公开了球形粒子在胶印油墨中的应用。其中介绍的球形树脂或蜡粒子在印刷油墨中的含量为0.1-20%重量,它既不含光泽颜料也不含BiOCl颜料,为改善积聚性并防止纸张被胶板捡拾(picking),要加以搅拌。
特别适当的球形材料有用乙烯基树脂、尼龙、硅酮、环氧树脂、烯烃树脂、聚苯乙烯以及无机材料如TiO2、SiO2或ZrO2制成的中空玻璃、蜡或聚合物珠粒。优选使用中空珠粒,另外还有粒径为0.05到150微米的实心珠粒。本发明的颜料制剂中特别优选地使用中空玻璃、蜡或聚合物珠粒。
球形粒子的粒径为0.05-150微米,优选地为0.05-50微米,特别优选地为1-30微米。已知有基于SiO2的粒径在3-10微米范围内的球形粒子,如达姆施塔特的Merck KGaA出售的商品名为LiChrospher的用于高压液相色谱的材料。优选地以单分散的形式使用这些材料,即尽可能用均一粒径的材料。已知有基于SiO2、TiO2和ZrO2的这种类型的单分散球形粒子。例如,可按照DE3616133中介绍的方法制备单分散的SiO2。中空玻璃珠在美国的PQ公司以商品名Q-CEL或德国法兰克福的3M以商品名Scotchlite出售。
即使颜料制剂中仅有少量的球形粒子,印刷油墨中BiOCl和光泽颜料的解凝聚改良也很明显。例如,球形粒子基于颜料制剂的含量仅有0.5%重量时,含有本发明的颜料制剂的印刷油墨的生产运行性能方面的改善也很显著。通常使用含有1-10%重量、特别是1-5%重量的球形粒子的颜料制剂。
本发明的颜料制剂中,球形粒子可在很大程度上防止片状BiOCl和光泽颜料一个叠在另一个上面,因而可产生强附着力。电子显微照相结果表明,球形粒子在片状光泽颜料的表面积聚,如此象一种滚珠一样,提高了印刷油墨中颜料薄片之间的流动性,因而基本上抑制了印刷过程中颜料的堆积。
在印刷油墨中使用本发明的颜料制剂,球形粒子可以通过印刷过程中球形粒子被压入颜料块并“破裂”这些颜料块而“粉碎”已形成的颜料块。过程中较大的球形粒子可能被部分地破坏。优选地,在印刷产品中仅有较小粒径的粒子,颜料块中的碎片有松散的作用。
作为其它成分,本发明的颜料制剂还可含有基于颜料制剂的含量为0.1-5%重量、优选地1-3%重量的磷酸盐衍生物。适当的磷酸盐衍生物有,例如高级或低级偏多磷酸盐和焦磷酸盐。特别优选的为碱金属的多磷酸盐,特别是多磷酸钠。
在颜料制剂中搅拌加入分散剂通常可行。可以使用本领域技术人员普遍知道的所有分散剂,如在Karsten,Lackrohstofftabellen的[表面涂层原料表]1992年第九版中介绍的分散剂。基于聚丙烯酸酯或聚甲基丙烯酸酯的分散剂特别适宜。分散剂基于成品印刷油墨的含量不应超过10%重量,优选地为0.05-5%重量。
颜料制剂的生产简单易于操作。首先,通过摇动或在干式混合机中把光泽颜料与球形粒子一起剧烈混和。随后以粉末形式搅拌加入或以由盐和液体成分组成的分散体形式加入磷酸盐衍生物和BiOCl颜料。特别适宜的液体成分为矿物油或其它非干性油,此外还有干性油,如亚麻子油、豆油以及水或有机溶剂。液体成分基于颜料制剂的含量最大为10%重量。颜料制剂也可通过把所有成分同时加入然后将其剧烈混和而制备。然后,可把成品颜料制剂与配方如印刷油墨、表面涂层、涂料、塑料和化妆品制剂混和。
本发明的颜料制剂特别适用于印刷油墨的着色。这种类型的着色印刷油墨可用于一切已知的印刷方法,特别是胶印,此外还有活版印刷、活版胶印、凹版印刷、曲面印刷和丝网印刷,此外还可用于罩印刷漆以及涂层。颜料制剂优选地用于胶印。它可用于干法或湿法的卷纸式(roll)胶印和单张式胶印;但是,特别适用于湿法单张式胶印。
然后,借助于带螺旋桨的搅拌器或桨式搅拌机,如需要在不同的分散温度下,把本发明的颜料制剂分散到印刷油墨或粘合剂中。过程中颜料颗粒由粘合剂包覆。
对于着色印刷油墨、特别是胶印油墨的制备,可以使用所有市售的粘合剂。如Karsten,Lackrohstofftabellen的[表面涂层原料表]1992年第九版中所述,这种粘合剂由已知的合成或天然树脂、非必需的干性油、矿物油和添加剂组成。该树脂优选地具有比较低的熔体或溶剂粘度。但是也可能有高聚合、高粘性的成分存在。由于可以更好地润湿颜料并且提供更多的光泽和耐磨性,硬树脂和醇酸树脂的组合特别适宜。特别地,使用含有50-90%重量的硬树脂和5-50%重量的醇酸树脂的粘合剂。使用的硬树脂优选地为烃类树脂。使用的烃类树脂的酸值接近于0毫克KOH/克物质,但也可改性,使酸值最高为30毫克KOH/克物质。此外,粘合剂还可含有1-50%重量的矿物油。油墨成分间的搭配合适,以得到具有较低油墨粘度的稳定的油墨/水平衡。
通过树脂的氧化聚合以及通过印刷中可被纸吸收的油如亚麻子油、木油或蓖麻油干燥印刷油墨。可通过通常为钴、铅、锰等的脂肪酸盐的干燥催化剂(干燥剂)添加剂,进一步促进干燥过程。本发明的胶印油墨中干性油的比例在0-50%重量范围内,优选地在0-30%重量的范围内。为改变油墨的性质以适用于特殊应用,可在印刷油墨中加入其它添加剂。这些添加剂可为蜡化合物、干燥剂、分散剂、溶剂、增稠剂、润滑剂、颜料填充物和/或抗氧化剂。A.Rosenberg的DerPolygraph(11),1153(1987)和B.Grande的涂层(4),138(1987)中有胶印油墨基本性质的详细介绍。
极低粘度的含颜料的印刷油墨通常不会得到适当的点清晰度。但是,特别是对于细丝网,为防止印刷堵塞,这是必需的。因此推荐使印刷油墨具有一定结构。例如,加入结构成形物可以充分提高点清晰度。这样本发明的颜料制剂优选地含有0.1-3%重量的结构成形物。除了改善的点清晰度外,按此法改性的颜料制剂在印刷油墨中具有显著改善的颜料输送、更好的生产运行性质以及沉淀性质方面都有改善。
通过选择粘合剂中的树脂以及印刷油墨中BiOCl和光泽颜料的比例,可以个别调整对于印刷过程关键的参数,如分散性、粘性和粘度。对于同样的油墨积聚,粘度和粘性相依而定,但也可通过特殊积聚以目标方式而个别改变。这里应注意的是,过粘的印刷油墨会导致纸张部分破损(捡拾)。粘性不足的油墨在印刷过程中不会以适当方式输送。如果油墨的渗透性太大,油墨在纸张的反面也会可见或导致斑点或图像不够清晰。对渗透性控制不足会导致模糊以及油墨粘脏。该印刷油墨喷溅到墨印***纸卷上绝无问题,甚至印刷速度在10,000张每小时下也没有问题。
含有本发明的颜料制剂的印刷油墨特别重要,特别是对于广告部门的图像以及高质量的印刷品,因其特有的光泽,印刷成品可满足最高的审美要求。
为提高印刷速度和生产运行性能,特别对于胶印使用具有光滑表面的印刷胶板是可取的,其中改性的表面优选地由聚氯乙稀、聚氨酯、聚酯或聚四氟乙烯组成,表面硬度约为88-95°肖氏。在印刷油墨中使用这种印刷胶板和本发明的颜料制剂的组合可以确保理想的油墨输送。
这样,本发明还涉及含有最高80%重量、优选地从5到70%重量、特别优选地从10到55%重量的本发明的颜料制剂的印刷油墨。
本发明的颜料制剂特有高光泽,因而可以用于许多的用途。除了用于印刷油墨包括证券印刷油墨外,还可用于塑料、表面涂层、涂料,由于其良好的肤感,还可用于化妆品制剂中。
这样,本发明还涉及含有本发明的颜料制剂的配方。
下列实施例是为了更详细地说明本发明,但不限制本发明。
实施例
I.颜料的制备
实施例1
把27克来自于3M的Scotchlite S22加入600.0克Iriodin123(珠光颜料:来自于Merck KGaA的粒径为5-20微米的TiO2包覆云母)中并在300rpm的转速下均匀搅拌。所用的搅拌机马达为Dispermat AE 6C。随后制备28.4克多磷酸钠均匀分散到28.4克矿物油PKWF 28/31中形成的悬浮液,与428.6克Bi-Flair66a(来自于Merck KGaA的粒径为1-20微米的BiOCl颜料)一起混和。将其加入Iriodin123/Scotchlite混合物中。在650rpm的转速下把组合物均匀混和16分钟。
实施例2
把22.5克Scotchlite S22加入600.0克Iriodin326(珠光颜料:来自于Merck KGaA的粒径为5-25微米的TiO2/Fe2O3包覆云母)中并在300rpm的转速下均匀搅拌。所用的搅拌机马达为Dispermat AE 6C。所用的搅拌机为螺旋桨搅拌器(直径为16厘米)。随后制备了两种悬浮液。
1.用磨粉机把22.5克多磷酸钠分散到23.7克矿物油中。
2.同样用磨粉机把15.0克PV Fast Yellow(Hoechst)分散到85克矿物油PKWF 28/31中。
把两种悬浮液与214克Bi-Flair66a(矿物油中的BiOCl颜料糊)均匀混和,将其加入Iriodin326/Scotchlite混合物中。在650rpm的转速下把混合物均匀混和16分钟。
II.胶印油墨的制备
2.1用搅拌机(直径10厘米)在450rpm的转速下搅拌20分钟,把489克实施例1制备的颜料搅拌加入611克Gebr.Schmidt青铜色漆11A1034-1(Gebr.Schmidt)中。然后可以把油墨直接用在印刷机中。
2.2用搅拌机(直径10厘米)在450rpm的转速下搅拌20分钟,把655克实施例2制备的颜料搅拌加入845克Gebr.Schmidt青铜色漆11A1034-1中。然后可以把油墨直接用在印刷机中。
Claims (11)
1.颜料制剂,含有BiOCl颜料、一种或多种光泽颜料、球形粒子以及如需要来自于印刷环节的添加剂。
2.权利要求1的颜料制剂,特征为BiOCl和光泽颜料间的比为99∶1到1∶99。
3.权利要求1或2的颜料制剂,特征为光泽颜料为珠光颜料。
4.权利要求1到3任一项的颜料制剂,特征为珠光颜料为覆有一层或多层金属氧化物的云母、SiO2、玻璃或Al2O3薄片。
5.权利要求1到4任一项的颜料制剂,特征为球形粒子为玻璃、蜡或SiO2珠粒或中空聚合物珠粒。
6.权利要求1到5任一项的颜料制剂,特征为其中还含有最高30%重量的液体成分。
7.权利要求1到6任一项的颜料制剂,特征为其中还含有磷酸盐衍生物。
8.权利要求7的颜料制剂,特征为磷酸盐衍生物的含量为0.1-5%重量。
9.权利要求1的颜料制剂在印刷油墨、证券印刷油墨、表面涂层、涂料、塑料和化妆品配方中的应用。
10.含有最高80%重量的权利要求1的颜料制剂的印刷油墨。
11.含有权利要求1的颜料制剂的配方。
