本发明在于避免在香烟的卷烟纸上形成斑点的问题。
香烟销售商将香烟的无斑点白色外观看作为质量指标。尽管这种观点不完全对-在湿热气候下香烟在短暂贮存后也能变色，但这不影响烟味-生产商必须满足市场的需求。
在香烟纸上形成斑点的解释如下，即在纸和烟叶颗粒的接触点，溶解的烟叶内含物能渗透纸，因为烟纸既是多孔的又是亲水的。
可设想，在烟纸上添覆一层使纸完全不可透的任何物质，以降低在烟纸上的斑点形成。这样的涂层已被建议，以起到快速熄灭丢弃的烟头的作用。为了能够控制不同香烟内含物的含量，香烟生产商一般对烟纸的一定空气透过性感兴趣。因而问题在于，一方面保持烟纸对空气可透过，另一方面降低对溶解的香烟成分的透过性。
在US-A5,143,099中为解决这一问题，提出由两层纸形成卷烟纸，其中内层纸有很高的渗透率，从而保持总渗透率足够高。在该文中已提到加入0.5％烷基乙烯酮二聚体使内层纸疏水的方法。
相比于提到的现有技术，本发明基于的目的是，使两层纸的使用成为多余的，和尽管借助了浸渍物，但它是无害的并且对烟味的改变尽可能小。
意外的是，导致了该任务的解决，即香烟所用的卷烟纸包括一层带有纤维素衍生物，尤其是乙基纤维素的疏水性浸渍层的纸。EP0419981即示出了这样一种香烟，但其中的空气透过性低于5个coresta单位。
本发明基于的认识是，使浸渍层足够薄，以得到所需的空气透过性，即使它涂有很多层。按本发明，还提出为了使卷烟纸的空气透过性达到至少20，优选至少50coresta单位，涂覆多层的纤维素衍生物。
就其本身而言，各种不同的纤维素衍生物可满足提出的有关浸渍纸的空气透过性和不透水性的物理条件，例如足够高的衍生化纤维素醚和纤维素酯(例如硝基纤维素)。但优选乙基纤维素，因为它安全而无害-相当于德国的烟叶规定-并且几乎不改变烟味。
本发明的进一步细节接着借助对比试验进行讨论。
在低压法中借助涂覆辊将单位面积重26g/m2的卷烟纸涂以乙丙纤维素(CAP)或乙丁纤维素(CAB)或乙基纤维素(EC)。涂覆量约为0.7g/m2。用这样的卷烟纸生产香烟。
为测试其成斑点性，将包装和未包装状态的香烟在20℃和60％相对空气湿度或者在30℃和80％相对空气湿度条件下贮存。在生产后马上以及在24和48小时后测定斑点(各100根香烟)。评价斑点大小和数量，经加权将结果转变为点***。
评价结果如下：
带0.7gEC的涂层        572点
带0.7gCAP的涂层       223点
带0.7gCAB的涂层       77点
尽管乙基纤维素涂覆的纸显示出比较强的成斑点性(高点数)，但用这种材料进行了进一步的开发，因为用CAP和CAB时觉察到一种所不希望的烟性变化。至少在使用EC涂覆的纸时，与未涂层的纸相比首先觉察到基本较小的斑点率。但在用EC涂层的纸中约一个月后生产的香烟显示了小的黑点，而在使用未涂层纸的香烟中则出现较大的黄色斑点。对这样的猜测是，在涂层的缺陷处染料渗入了纸中，其扩散受到涂层的抑制。基于这种考虑，用涂覆两次的纸重复试验，即使用负载有1.4g/m2EC的卷烟纸。从而按上述计算法的成斑点性下降到56点，即相比单涂层，减少了10倍。这一惊奇的结果在长时间的试验中得到证实。
特别强调的是，已达到了上述效果，尽管纸的孔隙度在涂层前为50个coresta单位，但在涂层后还有20个coresta单位。使用较高孔隙的纸作为原料的第一个试验证实，即使在最终孔隙度为50coresta单位时，本发明也可以彻底降低成斑点性(Coresta单位(CU)表示，在10cm水柱压力下每分钟有多少cm3空气通过1cm2纸的面积)。

Claims (5)

1.香烟，其烟叶棒上包覆有一层带纤维素衍生物、尤其乙基纤维素的疏水性浸渍层的纸，其特征是涂覆多层纤维素衍生物，使卷烟纸的空气透过性达到至少20，优选至少50个coresta单位。
2.按权利要求1的香烟，其特征是在纸上两面涂纤维素衍生物。
3.按权利要求1或2的香烟，其特征是纤维素衍生物的涂覆量至少1g/m2。
4.按权利要求1-3之一的香烟，其特征是纤维素衍生物借助涂覆辊以低压法涂覆。
5.按权利要求1-4之一的香烟，其特征是卷烟纸仅由一层纸组成。
