The tuner 203 selects a broadcast signal of a desired channel from the broadcast signal supplied from the antenna 201, and supplies the selected broadcast signal to the demodulator 204. The broadcast signal is also called a broadcast wave.
The demodulator 204 demodulates the broadcast signal supplied from the tuner 203, and supplies the demodulated broadcast signal to the demultiplexer 205. The demultiplexer 205 separates the broadcast signal supplied from the demodulator 204, generates metadata, a video signal, and an audio signal, and supplies the generated metadata, video signal, and audio signal to the selector 207.
The selector 207 is constituted by: 1 signal is selected from the plurality of signals supplied from the demultiplexer 205, the a/D converter 206, and the 3 rd input terminal 202c, and the selected 1 signal is supplied to the signal processing section 208.

Next, the functions of the respective devices of the image quality adjustment system 1 according to the first embodiment will be described. Fig. 7 is a block diagram showing an example of the functional configuration of each device of the image quality adjustment system 1 according to the first embodiment.
The CPU101 of the management server 10 reads and executes a program stored in the ROM103 or the like, thereby generating each functional unit in the RAM 102. Specifically, the management server 10 includes a storage control unit 1001, an update unit 1002, and a transmission unit 1003 as functional units.
The storage control unit 1001 causes the storage unit 104 to store content property information 107 indicating the property of the image quality of the content and display setting information 109 indicating the display setting of the property of the image quality of each content. Further, the storage control unit 1001 causes the storage unit 104 to store the characteristic content information 106 indicating the characteristics of the image quality of the content.
The update unit 1002 updates the property content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109. The update unit 1002 may update all of the property content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109 at the same time or at different times. That is, the update unit 1002 updates at least one of the property content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109. Here, the method of updating various information by the updating unit 1002 is not limited. For example, the updating unit 1002 may update various information based on an operation performed by the administrator of the image quality adjustment system 1, may update various information using a model after learning generated by deep learning, or may update various information based on received data.
The transmission unit 1003 transmits the characteristic content information 106, the content characteristic information 107, and the display setting information 109 to the television device 20. More specifically, when the characteristic content information 106, the content characteristic information 107, and the display setting information 109 stored in the storage unit 104 are newer than the characteristic content information 106, the content characteristic information 107, and the display setting information 109 of the television device 20 that is the request source, the transmission unit 1003 transmits the information to the television device 20. When transmitting the display setting information 109, the transmission unit 1003 transmits the display setting information 109 corresponding to the device type of the television apparatus 20 that is the request source.
Further, when the property content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109 are not all updated by the update unit 1002, the transmission unit 1003 may not transmit the non-updated information. That is, the transmission unit 1003 transmits at least one of the property content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109.
The CPU214 of the television apparatus 20 reads out and executes a program stored in the ROM or the like to generate each functional unit in the RAM. Specifically, the television device 20 includes a content acquisition unit 2001, a reception unit 2002, a setting change unit 2003, a characteristic determination unit 2004, and a display control unit 2005 as functional units.
The content acquisition unit 2001 receives a broadcast, thereby acquiring content including metadata, a video signal, and an audio signal.
The receiving unit 2002 receives content property information 107 for specifying a property of the image quality of the content, and display setting information 109 indicating a display setting of the content for each property. In addition, the receiving unit 2002 receives the property content information 106. The receiving unit 2002 is an example of a first receiving unit.
More specifically, the receiving unit 2002 determines whether or not the character content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109 stored in the storage unit 104 of the management server 10 are newer than the character content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109 that the television device 20 has, every time an arbitrary period elapses. That is, the receiving unit 2002 determines whether or not the characteristics content information 106, the content characteristics information 107, and the display setting information 109 have been updated after the characteristics content information 106, the content characteristics information 107, and the display setting information 109 have been received the previous time. Then, when the characteristic content information 106, the content characteristic information 107, and the display setting information 109 stored in the storage unit 104 of the management server 10 are newer than the characteristic content information 106, the content characteristic information 107, and the display setting information 109 of the television device 20, the receiving unit 2002 requests the management server 10 for the characteristic content information 106, the content characteristic information 107, and the display setting information 109. Thus, the receiving unit 2002 receives the property content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109.
The setting changing unit 2003 changes the items of the display settings set for each characteristic of the image quality of the content, which are not changed in the television apparatus 20, to the settings indicated by the display setting information 109. The setting changing unit 2003 is an example of a changing unit. Here, the user changes the display setting of the television apparatus 20 based on his or her preference. When displaying content, the television device 20 preferably displays the content with display settings according to the preference of the user. Therefore, the setting changing unit 2003 changes the items of the display setting that are not changed by the user. The setting changing unit 2003 may change each item of the display setting based on the setting changed by the user. For example, when the display setting information 109 indicates that the setting of +3 is changed for a certain item, the setting changing unit 2003 may change the setting by adding 3 to the setting value set by the user.
The characteristic determination unit 2004 determines the characteristic of the image quality of the broadcast content based on the content characteristic information 107. The characteristic determination unit 2004 is an example of a first determination unit. Here, the content includes metadata indicating information of the content (contents). The metadata includes information such as a broadcasting method, SID, genre (Genre), and Code, a title of the content, and a comment describing a summary of the content. The property determination unit 2004 compares the content property information 107 with the metadata of the content to determine whether or not the content matches any line (row). Then, the characteristic specifying unit 2004 determines that the characteristic specified by the image quality characteristic code of the matching line (row) is a characteristic of the image quality of the content.
Here, when a new program or a broadcasting method is added, a new line (row) is added to the content property information 107. Therefore, the characteristic determining unit 2004 determines whether or not the line (row) coincides with it, in the order in which the line (row) is new. Thus, the characteristic determining unit 2004 can select an appropriate characteristic.
The display control unit 2005 causes the display panel 210 to display the content adjusted based on the display setting of the characteristic determined by the characteristic determining unit 2004. More specifically, the display control unit 2005 adjusts the content based on the display setting of the characteristic determined by the characteristic determination unit 2004. Then, the display control unit 2005 causes the display panel 210 to display the adjusted content. Thus, the display control unit 2005 can display the content with the display setting according to the characteristic of the image quality of the content.
Next, a process executed by each device of the image quality adjustment system 1 according to the first embodiment will be described.
Fig. 8 is a flowchart showing an example of information management processing executed by the management server 10 of the first embodiment.
The update unit 1002 determines whether or not an update request requesting update of at least one of the property content information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109 is received (step S1).
When the update request is received (step S1; yes), the update unit 1002 updates the information to be the update request (step S2).
When the update request is not received (step S1; no), the transmission unit 1003 determines whether or not a transmission request requesting transmission of at least any one of the content property information 106, the content property information 107, and the display setting information 109 is received from the television apparatus 20 (step S3). In the case where the transmission request is not received (step S3; no), the management server 10 shifts to step S1.
When receiving the transmission request (step S3; yes), the transmission unit 1003 transmits information to be subjected to the transmission request to the television device 20 (step S4).
As described above, the management server 10 executes the information management processing.
Fig. 9 is a flowchart showing an example of the adjustment process executed by the television apparatus 20 according to the first embodiment.
After the television device 20 receives the content data, the receiving unit 2002 determines whether or not the updated property content information 106, content property information 107, or display setting information 109 is stored in the management server 10 (step S11).
When the updated property content information 106, content property information 107, or display setting information 109 is already stored in the management server 10 (step S11; yes), the receiving unit 2002 receives the updated property content information 106, content property information 107, or display setting information 109 from the management server 10 (step S12).
If the updated property content information 106, content property information 107, or display setting information 109 is not stored in the management server 10 (step S11; no), the content acquisition unit 2001 determines whether or not the content is acquired (step S13). In the case where the content is not acquired (step S13; no), the television device 20 shifts to step S11.
When the content is acquired (step S13; yes), the characteristic specifying unit 2004 specifies the characteristic of the image quality of the content based on the content characteristic information 107 (step S14).
The display control unit 2005 adjusts the video signal based on the display setting of the characteristic determined by the characteristic determining unit 2004 (step S15). The display control unit 2005 causes the display panel 210 to display the adjusted video signal (step S16).
As described above, the television apparatus 20 performs the adjustment processing.
As described above, the television apparatus 20 of the first embodiment receives the content property information 107 and the display setting information 109 from the management server 10. The television device 20 changes the setting indicated by the display setting information 109 to the item whose setting has not been changed by the user in the display setting. When the broadcast content is acquired, the television device 20 specifies the characteristics of the image quality of the content based on the content characteristic information 107. Then, the television apparatus 20 causes the display panel 210 to display the content adjusted based on the display setting of the characteristics determined by the display setting information 109. Therefore, the television device 20 can display the content with the setting according to the characteristic of the content without changing the setting of the user.
Second embodiment
The image quality adjustment system 1a according to the second embodiment includes a television system 40, and a television device 20a and a video recorder 50 are connected to the television system 40. Note that the same components as those of the first embodiment are given the same reference numerals, and description thereof is omitted.
Fig. 10 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of an image quality adjustment system 1a according to a second embodiment. The image quality adjustment system 1a includes a television system 40. The television system 40 is a system for displaying content provided from the video recorder 50 on the television apparatus 20a in a viewable manner.
The recorder 50 is an information recording/reproducing apparatus that stores broadcast content in a storage medium such as an HDD. The recorder 50 also outputs the stored content to the television apparatus 20a. Thereby, the television apparatus 20a displays the content stored in the recorder 50 in a viewable manner.
The management server 10a is connected to the television apparatus 20a and the video recorder 50 included in the television system 40 via the network 30. Here, the video adjustment packet 108 includes display setting information 109 for each device type of the television apparatus 20a. That is, the display setting information 109 is information for specifying display settings for each device type of the television apparatus 20a. Therefore, the management server 10a transmits the display setting information 109 to the television apparatus 20a, but not to the recorder 50. Then, the content output from the recorder 50 is displayed based on the display setting set by the display setting information 109 of the television apparatus 20a.
The television apparatus 20a and the video recorder 50 are connected by a cable 41 such as an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface). The cable 41 is not limited to HDMI (registered trademark), and may be connected according to other specifications.
Next, a hardware configuration of the video recorder 50 is explained. Fig. 11 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of the video recorder 50 of the second embodiment. The recorder 50 includes a tuner 501, a control unit 502, a connection interface 503, a storage unit 504, and an optical disk reader/writer 505.
The tuner 501 selects a broadcast signal of a desired channel from among broadcast signals. The tuner 501 demodulates the selected broadcast signal to generate metadata, a video signal, and an audio signal.
The control unit 502 is an SoC (System on a Chip) that controls the entire video recorder 50. The control unit 502 includes a CPU, a RAM, and a ROM. The CPU controls each component of the video recorder 50 by executing various computer programs. The RAM temporarily stores various programs and various data while the CPU executes the programs. The ROM is a storage medium storing programs and data. The CPU executes a program stored in the ROM or the like with the RAM as a work partition (work area).
For example, the control unit 502 stores the content including the metadata, the video signal, and the audio signal generated by the tuner 501 in the storage unit 504, or writes the content to the optical disk by the optical disk reader/writer 505. The control unit 502 causes the connection interface 503 to transmit the content stored in the storage unit 504 and the content read from the optical disk by the optical disk reader/writer 505.
The connection interface 503 is an interface for performing communication with the television apparatus 20a via the cable 41.
The storage unit 504 is a storage device such as an HDD or an SSD. The storage unit 504 stores content including the metadata, video signals, and audio signals generated by the tuner 501.
The optical disk reader/writer 505 reads and writes information from and into an optical disk such as a DVD (Digital Versatile disk) or a blu-ray disk.
Next, the functions of the respective devices of the image quality adjustment system 1a according to the second embodiment will be described. Fig. 12 is a block diagram showing an example of the functional configuration of each device of the image quality adjustment system 1a according to the second embodiment.
The CPU101 of the management server 10a reads and executes a program stored in the ROM103 or the like, thereby generating each functional unit in the RAM 102. Specifically, the management server 10a includes a storage control unit 1001, an update unit 1002, and a transmission unit 1003a as functional units.
The memory control unit 1001 and the update unit 1002 have the same functions as those of the first embodiment.
The transmission unit 1003a transmits the characteristics content information 106, the content characteristics information 107, and the display setting information 109 to the television device 20a. On the other hand, the transmission unit 1003a transmits the characteristic content information 106 and the content characteristic information 107 to the recorder 50. That is, the transmission unit 1003a does not transmit the display setting information 109 to the recorder 50.
The CPU included in the control unit 502 of the recorder 50 reads and executes a program stored in the ROM or the like, thereby generating each functional unit in the RAM. The control unit 502 may realize all or part of each functional unit by an integrated circuit. The recorder 50 includes a content acquisition unit 5001, a content recording unit 5002, a receiving unit 5003, a characteristic determination unit 5004, and a connection control unit 5005 as functional units.
The content acquisition unit 5001 receives a broadcast, thereby acquiring content including metadata, a video signal, and an audio signal.
The content recording unit 5002 stores the content acquired by the content acquisition unit 5001 in a storage medium such as the storage unit 504 or an optical disk.
The receiving unit 5003 receives the characteristic content information 106 and the content characteristic information 107 for specifying the characteristics of the image quality of the content from the management server 10 a. The receiving unit 5003 is an example of a second receiving unit.
The characteristic determination unit 5004 determines characteristics of the image quality of the content based on the content characteristic information 107. The characteristic determination portion 5004 is an example of the second determination portion. More specifically, the characteristics specifying unit 5004 compares the content characteristics information 107 with the metadata of the content to determine whether or not the content corresponds to any line (row). The characteristic specifying unit 5004 determines that the characteristic specified by the image quality characteristic code of the matching line (row) is a characteristic of the image quality of the content. The characteristic determination unit 5004 determines whether or not the line (row) matches the new line (row) in the new order. Thus, the characteristic determination unit 5004 can select an appropriate characteristic.
The connection control section 5005 controls connection to the television apparatus 20a. For example, the connection Control unit 5005 receives the corresponding device type information and the function status information from the television apparatus 20a by CEC (Consumer Electronics Control). The corresponding device type information is information indicating whether or not the device type has a function of displaying the content adjusted based on the display setting information 109 acquired from the management server 10 a. The function status information is information indicating whether or not a function for displaying the content adjusted based on the display setting information 109 acquired from the management server 10a is valid.
The connection control unit 5005 outputs the image quality characteristic code and the content determined by the characteristic determination unit 5004. The connection control unit 5005 is an example of an output unit. More specifically, the connection control unit 5005 reads contents from the storage unit 504 and the optical disk reader/writer 505. When the characteristic specifying unit 5004 specifies the image quality characteristic code for the read content, the connection control unit 5005 outputs the image quality characteristic code and the content to the television apparatus 20a.
The connection control unit 5005 may transmit the source information to the television device 20a. The source information is information indicating an acquisition source that acquires content to be output to the television apparatus 20a. For example, the source information is information indicating an acquisition source such as a blu-ray disc, a DVD, a terrestrial digital broadcast, or the like. Here, in some cases, the data constituting the content differs depending on the acquisition source. Therefore, the connection control unit 5005 can use the transmission source information to determine the characteristics of the image quality of the content.
The CPU214 of the television apparatus 20a reads out and executes a program stored in the ROM or the like, thereby generating each functional unit in the RAM. Specifically, the television device 20a includes, as functional units, a content acquisition unit 2001, a reception unit 2002, a setting change unit 2003, a characteristic determination unit 2004, a connection control unit 2007, and a display control unit 2005 a.
The content acquisition unit 2001, the reception unit 2002, the setting change unit 2003, and the characteristic determination unit 2004 have the same functions as those of the first embodiment.
That is, the receiving unit 2002 receives the display setting information 109 from the management server 10 a. Then, the setting changing unit 2003 changes the items of the display settings set for each characteristic of the image quality of the content, which have not been changed in the television device 20a, to the settings indicated by the display setting information 109.
The connection control unit 2007 controls connection with the recorder 50. The connection control unit 2007 transmits the corresponding device type information and the function status information of the present apparatus to the recorder 50 by CEC. The connection control unit 2007 receives inputs of the image quality characteristic code and the content from the video recorder 50. The connection control unit 2007 is an example of an input unit. Further, the connection control unit 2007 may receive input of source information from the video recorder 50.
The display control unit 2005a causes the display panel 210 to display the content adjusted based on the display setting of the characteristic specified by the image quality characteristic code received by the connection control unit 2007. More specifically, the display control unit 2005 adjusts the content based on the display setting of the characteristic specified by the image quality characteristic code received by the connection control unit 2007. Then, the display control unit 2005 causes the adjusted content to be displayed on the display panel 210. Thus, the display control unit 2005 performs display using display settings in accordance with the characteristics of the image quality of the content.
Further, when the connection control unit 2007 receives the source information, the display control unit 2005a adjusts the content based on the display setting of the characteristic specified by the image quality characteristic code and the source information. Then, the display control unit 2005 causes the adjusted content to be displayed on the display panel 210. Thus, the display control unit 2005a can display the content in accordance with the setting corresponding to the acquisition source of the content.
Next, a process executed by each device of the image quality adjustment system 1a according to the second embodiment will be described. Fig. 13 is a flowchart showing an example of display processing performed by the television system 40 of the second embodiment.
The receiving unit 5003 of the recorder 50 performs a receiving process of receiving the content property information 107 and the display setting information 109 (step S21).
