一种变速器及包括该变速器的两挡电桥驱动***，该变速器的离合机构(C)的第一离合单元包括能够使得作为挡位齿轮的第一齿轮(G1)随着第一轴(S1)朝向周向一侧转动的单向超越离合组件(2)和能够使得第一齿轮(G1)随着第一轴(S1)朝向周向的至少一侧转动的牙嵌啮合组件(3)。在通过该变速器进行换挡的过程中，牙嵌啮合组件(3)能够在换挡过程的初始阶段分离而单向超越离合组件(2)能够在换挡过程中保证变速器仍然提供动力，不会产生动力中断现象或者动力中断时间较短并且换挡平稳，另外该离合机构(C)在转动惯量较高的情况下仍然可以实现换挡工作。
