Description
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the technical field of household appliances, and particularly relates to a system and a method for detecting foam quantity in a household appliance.
Background
Household appliances for washing, such as washing machines, dishwashers, generate foam during operation. In the working process, if the generated foam is excessive, the working process can be influenced, and the foam needs to be reduced by spraying and the like. It is also generally necessary to control the amount of foam within a set threshold value at the end of the work or after the work has been completed. The precondition for the treatment of the foam is that it is necessary to detect the amount of foam in the household appliance for a certain period of time.
The current common detection mode comprises the detection of whether foam exists or not by adopting a liquid level sensor, a photoelectric sensor and the like. Detecting foam by adopting a liquid level sensor, detecting liquid level change mainly through difference of internal and external air pressure, and comparing the liquid level change to judge whether foam exists or not; a disadvantage of this detection method is that false positives may occur if the detection or other problems during draining cause that the water is not drained. Detecting foam by adopting a photoelectric sensor, and judging whether the foam exists or not by detecting the difference of external media of the photoelectric sensor; when foam is attached to the surface of the photoelectric sensor, the detection result is disturbed, and erroneous judgment is caused. And the method can only detect whether foam exists, and cannot detect the foam amount.
For example, chinese patent publication No. CN108978113a describes a foam detection method for a washing machine. According to the foam detection method disclosed by the patent, whether excessive foam is generated in the washing machine is judged according to the numerical value of the liquid level sensor.
U.S. patent No. US9861248B2 discloses an optical sensor for water-air detection that is capable of detecting the presence of foam, but not the direct detection of the amount of foam. Other types of foam sensors exist in the art that are capable of detecting the presence of foam.

Further, when C is not less than 2, T 1=T2=…=Tj.
Example 1
The present embodiment illustrates the system and method for detecting the amount of foam in a home appliance according to the present invention by taking a drum washing machine as an example. Household appliances such as a dishwasher may also be implemented with reference to this embodiment.
As shown in fig. 3, a system for detecting a foam amount of a drum washing machine includes a drum washing machine inner tub 1, an outer tub 2, and a foam sensor 3. Preferably, the foam sensor 3 is mounted between the inner and outer drums 1,2, in particular at a level equal to the default water level. The foam sensor 3 is installed at this position, and the detection accuracy is high. If the installation position is lower, the sensitivity to foam detection is higher; if the installation position is higher, the device is mainly used for detecting the condition of excessive foam. Under the condition of more clothes, the height position of the clothes after water drainage is close to the default water inlet position, and the position is suitable for detecting foam, so that certain sensitivity is ensured, and the clothes are not saturated too early.
The following illustrates the detection method and the process of treating the foam:
As shown in fig. 4, after the drainage or dehydration is completed, foam information is collected. The acquisition process is as follows: the detection signal was sent intermittently by the foam sensor, each time with a duration of 2 seconds, using an alternating current frequency of 50Hz, and 100 times during each detection period (2 seconds). The interval between every two transmissions of the detection signal (i.e., every two detection periods) is 8 seconds. The total transmitted signal is up to 5 cycles. In the detection process, the detected foam quantity Pi=N j/100 x 100% in each period is recorded in real time, and i=1, 2,3,4 and 5. After completion of5 cycles, the total foam amount p= (P 1+P2+P3+P4+P5)/5.
As shown in fig. 5, when the washing/rinsing is completed and the water discharge is completed, the detection is started and the dehydration is started after the detection is completed. The method can also be used for detecting the condition of excessive foam at the end of each dehydration, and the method mainly detects the condition of excessive foam, has fewer foam after the dehydration is finished, and can have the problem of insensitive detection. Judging the foam amount and performing corresponding treatment: before the last rinsing, detecting the foam quantity P, if P is larger than a first threshold L 1, starting a foam removing function, such as spraying, blowing, increasing water inflow and the like. At the last rinse, the suds level P is detected, and if P > L 2, the suds removal function is turned on, such as increasing 1 rinse or increasing the water intake.
In this embodiment, the foam sensor 3 may also be mounted in other locations, such as into the drain pipe 4. When the foam detecting device is installed in the drain pipe 4, the sensitivity of detecting the foam is high because the position of the drain pipe 4 is relatively low, and the foam can be detected when the foam amount is small. If there is more foam, the detection is easily saturated.
The water storage position in the drum washing machine can be called as a water cavity 5, a container 6 can be additionally arranged, the upper part of the container 6 is opened, and the container is connected with the water cavity 5 through a connecting pipe. The foam sensor 3 may also be mounted within the container. Based on the principle of communicating vessels, the water level in the container 6 is equal to the water level in the water cavity 5. The water flow in the container 6 is relatively stationary and is affected by the connection pipe and is not the most suitable installation location. But this location is advantageous for integrating other sensors such as turbidity sensors, hardness sensors, conductivity sensors, etc.
Based on the description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention, it should be clear that the invention defined by the appended claims is not limited to the specific details set forth in the above description, but that many apparent variations of the invention are possible without departing from the spirit or scope thereof.
