Technical Field

According to an embodiment of the present invention, sidestream smoke generated in a smoking article is improved by adding a flavorant containing a first flavorant material selected from vanillin, ethyl vanillin, and ethyl vanillin glucoside to a smoking material wrapper, whereby it is possible to reduce a feeling of discomfort caused by sidestream smoke that a smoker or an indirect smoker may feel and to prevent a reduction in smoking taste that may be caused by the improvement in sidestream smoke.

In some embodiments, to reduce sidestream smoke and effectively prevent reduced smoke, the porosity of the smoking material wrapper 120a comprising the first flavour material described above may be about 40 to 50CU (e.g. 43CU) and the basis weight may be about 40g/m2To 50g/m2Preferably, about 46g/m2To 47g/m2(e.g., 46.4 g/m)2) The tensile strength may be about 1.45Kgf to 1.55Kgf (e.g., 1.51Kgf), the flame retardant content may be about 0.7% to 1% (e.g., 0.84%), and the filler content may be about 20% to 23% (e.g., 21.4%).
The smoking article 100 may have the shape of an elongated rod, and its length, diameter and circumference may vary. For example, the smoking article 100 may be about 45mm to 100mm in length, about 4mm to 6mm (e.g., about 5.4mm) in diameter, and about 14mm to 19mm (e.g., about 17mm) in circumference. As another example, the smoking article 100 can be about 7mm to 9mm in diameter (e.g., about 7.8mm) and about 22.5mm to 26.5mm in circumference (e.g., about 24.5 mm). On the other hand, in consideration of the problem of discoloration caused according to the basis weight and composition of the smoking material wrapper 120a described above, preferably, the total length 100L of the smoking article 100 to which the smoking material wrapper 120a of the present invention is applied may be about 90mm to 110mm (preferably about 100mm), the circumference (or the width 120aW of the smoking material wrapper 120 a) may be about 14mm to 20mm (preferably about 17mm), the length 120L of the smoking material section 120 may be about 65mm to 75mm (preferably about 70mm), and the length 110L of the filter 110 for the smoking article may be about 25mm to 35mm (preferably about 30 mm).
The smoking material portion 120 surrounded by the smoking material wrapper 120a and the filter portion 112 surrounded by the filter wrapper 112a may be jointly wrapped by the tipping wrapper 130. That is, the tipping wrapper 130 may surround at least a portion (e.g. a downstream portion region) of the smoking material wrapper 120a and the periphery of the filter wrapper 112 a. In other words, at least a portion of the smoking material portion 120 and the filter portion 112 may be further wrapped and physically joined by tipping wrapper 130.
The tipping wrapper 130 may be made from plain paper roll. The tipping wrapper 130 may be a porous or non-porous roll paper, for example. The tipping wrapper 130 may be made from the same wrapper as the filter wrapper 112a, but the invention is not limited thereto. For example, the tipping wrapper 130 may be a non-porous roll paper and the filter wrapper 112a may be a porous roll paper.
The tipping wrapper 130 may be made of roll paper that has not been subjected to oil resistance treatment, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and may of course be made of oil-resistant roll paper that has been subjected to oil resistance treatment. Additionally, the tipping wrapper 130 may be coated with a sweetener such as sucralose, citric acid, or the like.
In some embodiments, a predetermined material may be added to the tipping wrapper 130. An example of the predetermined material may be silicon, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, silicon has characteristics such as heat resistance with little change in temperature, oxidation resistance without oxidation, resistance to various chemicals, water repellency to water, or electrical insulation. However, any material having the above characteristics may be coated or coated on the tipping wrapper 130 without limitation, even if it is not silicon.
The tipping wrapper 130 may prevent burning of the filter 110 for the smoking article. For example, when the smoking material portion 120 is burned to a portion adjacent to the filter 110 for a smoking article, even the filter 110 for a smoking article may be burned. Even in this case, since the tipping wrapper 130 comprises a non-combustible material, a phenomenon in which the filter 110 for a smoking article burns can be prevented.
Fig. 2 is a view showing a schematic structure of a smoking article to which smoking articles according to some embodiments of the present invention are applied, and fig. 3 is a central axial direction partial sectional view of the smoking article according to some embodiments of the present invention.
In fig. 2 and 3, a smoking article 200 is disclosed that not only improves sidestream smoke as described with reference to fig. 1, but also reduces hand odor and bad breath produced by smoking.
In fig. 2 and 3, the same reference numerals as in fig. 1 denote the same members, and duplicate description will be omitted herein for convenience of description.
Referring to fig. 2 and 3, the smoking article 200 may include a filter 210 for a smoking article, a smoking material section 120, a smoking material wrapper 120a, and a tipping wrapper 230, and the filter 210 for a smoking article may include a first filter 212, a second filter 214, a first wrapper 212a, a second wrapper 214, a first capsule 212c, a second capsule 214c, and a combined wrapper 216.
The filter 210 for the smoking article may be an area arranged downstream of the smoking material portion and through which aerosol material generated in the smoking material portion passes before being drawn by a user.
The first filter 212 and the second filter 214 may be formed of various materials, for example, the first filter 212 and the second filter 214 may be cellulose acetate filters. The first filter 212 and the second filter 214 may have the same specifications and composition, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the first filter 212 is a cellulose acetate filter that is not flavored with a flavoring material, and the second filter 214 is a filter that is flavored with a flavoring material.
In some embodiments, the respective lengths of the first and second filters 212 and 214 may be suitably employed in the range of 4mm to 30mm, and the respective diameters of the first and second filters 212 and 214 may be suitably employed in the range of 5mm to 8mm, but the present invention is not limited thereto. Preferably, the respective lengths of the first and second filters 212 and 214 may be about 15mm, and the respective diameters of the first and second filters 212 and 214 may be about 5.4 mm.
In some embodiments, the first filter 212 and/or the second filter 214 may be tubular structures that include a cavity therein. In addition, the first filter 212 and/or the second filter 214 may be made by inserting structures such as membranes, tubes having the same or different materials inside (e.g., cavities).
The hardness of the first filter 212 and/or the second filter 214 may be adjusted by adjusting the content of the plasticizer when the first filter 212 and/or the second filter 214 are manufactured.
The first filter 212 includes a first capsule 212c therein and the second filter 214 includes a second capsule 214c therein. The first capsule 212c and/or the second capsule 214c may have a structure in which a content solution containing a perfume is surrounded with a film, for example, the first capsule 212c and/or the second capsule 214c may have a spherical shape or a cylindrical shape.
The material forming the film of first capsule 212c and/or second capsule 214c may be starch and/or a gelling agent. In addition, a gelling aid may be further used as a material for forming the film of the first capsule 212c and/or the second capsule 214 c. In addition, a plasticizer may be further used as a material for forming the film of the first capsule 212c and/or the second capsule 214 c. Also, the colorant may further serve as a material forming the film of the first capsule 212c and/or the second capsule 214 c.
The content solution in the first capsule 212c and/or the second capsule 214c may include flavors such as menthol and essential oils of plants.
In some embodiments, each of the first and second capsules 212c, 214c may include a flavor selected from mango, wine, mogerto, apple, orange, strawberry, green apple, apple and sweet mango flavors. Here, the first and second capsules 212c and 214c may include different kinds of flavors, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the first capsule 212c may include mango-flavored flavor and the second capsule 214c may include apple mint-flavored flavor.
On the other hand, in order to maximize the speed of transferring the perfume contained in the capsules to the fingers through the wrapping paper 212a,216,230 after the capsules are ruptured, the content of the perfume contained in the first capsules 212c may be about 20 to 50 weight percent relative to the total weight of the capsules, which may be a strong volatile fruit-based flavor that can be easily released to the outside of the wrapping paper.
In some embodiments, as the solvent of the perfume of the content solution contained in the first capsule 212c and/or the second capsule 214c, for example, medium chain fatty acid triglyceride may be used. In addition, the content solution may contain other additives such as a pigment, an emulsifier, a thickener, and the like.
The first filter 212 and the second filter 214 may be surrounded by wrappers 212a, 214a, 216. More specifically, the first filter 212 may be surrounded by a first wrapper 212a, the second filter 214 is surrounded by a second wrapper 214a, and the first filter 212 and the second filter 214 may be jointly surrounded by a joint wrapper 216. In other words, the first filter 212 surrounded by the first wrapper 212a and the second filter 214 surrounded by the second wrapper 214 are further wrapped and physically bonded by the bonding wrapper 216.
The first wrapper 212a and the joint wrapper 216 may be made of general roll paper without oil-resistant treatment. For example, the first wrapper 212a and the combined wrapper 216 may be porous roll paper or non-porous roll paper. For example, the first wrapper 212a and the combined wrapper 216 may be a non-porous roll paper having a porosity of about 10CU to 20CU, or a porous roll paper having a porosity equal to or greater than about 6500CU (e.g., 24000 CU).
The same roll paper may be applied to the first wrapper 212a and the combining wrapper 216, but the present invention is not limited thereto and roll paper having different characteristics may be applied. For example, one of the first wrapper 212a and the combining wrapper 216 may be a porous roll paper, and the other wrapper may be a non-porous roll paper.
The first wrapper 212a and the joint wrapper 216 may be made of roll paper that is not subjected to oil resistance treatment. That is, the first wrapper 212a and the combining wrapper 216 may be made of roll paper that is not subjected to oil-resistant treatment, so that the capsule content solution that is ruptured by the smoker to be released to the outside of the first capsule 212c is transferred to the smoker's hand through the first wrapper 212 a.
The second wrapper 214 may be made of roll paper having oil resistance. That is, the second wrapper 214a may be made of oil-resistant wrapping paper to prevent a solution of capsule contents, which is ruptured by the smoker to release to the outside of the second capsule 214c, from passing through the second wrapper 214. In some embodiments, the inner side of the second wrapper 214 may further comprise aluminum foil.
As shown in fig. 2, the above-described filter 210 for a smoking article is arranged downstream of the smoking material portion 120 to act as a filter through which aerosol material generated in the smoking material portion 120 passes before being drawn by a user.
The smoking material portion 120 surrounded by the smoking material wrapper 120a and the filters 212, 214 surrounded by the tipping wrapper 216 may be wrapped in combination by the tipping wrapper 230. That is, the tipping wrapper 230 may surround at least a portion (e.g. a downstream portion region) of the smoking material wrapper 120a and the periphery of the tipping wrapper 216. In other words, at least a portion of the smoking material portion 120 and the filters 212, 214 may be further wrapped and physically bonded by tipping wrapper 230.
In some embodiments, the length 230L1 of the tipping wrapper 230 may be about 33mm to 37 mm. Where the length of the filter 210 for a smoking article is 30mm, the length 230L2 of the tipping wrapper 230 overlapping the smoking material portion 120 may be about 3mm to 7 mm.
The smoking article 200 may have the shape of an elongated rod, and its length and diameter may vary. For example, the smoking article 200 may be about 45mm to 100mm in length and about 5mm to 9mm in diameter.
However, in consideration of the problem of discoloration caused according to the basis weight and composition of the smoking material wrapper 120a described above, the total length of the smoking material 200 is about 90mm to 110mm (preferably about 100mm), the circumference (or width of the smoking material wrapper 120 a) is about 14mm to 20mm (preferably about 17mm), the length of the smoking material section 120 is about 65mm to 75mm (preferably about 70mm), the length 212L of the first filter 212 is about 10mm to 20mm (preferably about 15mm), and the length 214L of the second filter 214 is about 10mm to 20mm (preferably about 15 mm).
The first and second capsules 212c, 214c may have a spherical shape, and the diameter 212c _ D of the first capsule 212c and the diameter 214c _ D of the second capsule 214c may be about 2.6mm to 3.0 mm. In some embodiments, the diameter 212c _ D of the first capsule 212c and the diameter 214c _ D of the second capsule 214c may be the same, although the invention is not limited thereto.
The first capsule 212c may be disposed in a position to grasp the smoking article 200 when a normal smoker takes a puff on the cigarette. Preferably, the first capsule 212c may be located at the downstream end of the second filter 214, i.e. at a position spaced about 18mm to 27mm from the downstream end of the smoking article 200 towards the upstream direction. As a more specific example, the center point of the first capsule 212c may be located at a position spaced about 21mm to 24mm from the downstream end of the smoking article 200 toward the upstream direction, the upstream end of the first capsule 212c may be located at a position spaced about 22.5mm to 25.5mm from the downstream end of the smoking article 200 toward the upstream direction, and the downstream end of the first capsule 212c may be located at a position spaced about 19.5mm to 22.5mm from the downstream end of the smoking article 200 toward the upstream direction.
First and second capsules 212c, 214c may have a separation distance Cap _ D of about 10mm to 14 mm. In other words, the first capsule 212c may be located at a position spaced about 10mm to 14mm apart from the second capsule 214c toward the upstream direction.
The second perforated region 214P may be formed in the wrapper 214a, 216,230 at a portion covering the second filter 214. As shown in fig. 3, the second perforated region 214P may have double perforations, i.e., may have a plurality of first holes 214P1 formed along the outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper 230 and a plurality of second holes 214P2 formed along the outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper 230 downstream of the first holes 214P1, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, unlike that shown in fig. 3, only one of the plurality of first holes 214P1 and the plurality of second holes 214P2 may be provided at the second perforated region 214P (single perforation), or additional holes other than the plurality of first holes 214P1 and the plurality of second holes 214P2 may be further provided at the second perforated region 214P.
For example, the plurality of first holes 214P1 and the plurality of second holes 214P2 may include four to ten holes (holes), respectively, which may be formed at intervals along the outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper 230, but the present invention is not limited thereto. The diameter of each hole may be about 0.02mm to 0.08mm (e.g., 0.05mm), but the present invention is not limited thereto.
The holes may be formed by an in-line (on-line) perforation process, i.e. by making a cigarette using a non-porous tipping wrapper and then perforating the filter section. The above-described in-line perforation may be performed using a laser, but the present invention is not limited thereto. As described above, when the perforation is made in-line to form the above-mentioned holes, as shown in fig. 3, the above-mentioned holes may be formed not only in the tipping wrapper 230 but also to the combined wrapper 216, the second wrapper 214 and further to the outer side region of the second filter 214, so that the external air can flow from the outside to the inside of the second filter 214 through the second perforated region 214P. The outside air introduced through the second perforations 214P can mix with the mainstream smoke and be delivered to the smoker.
In some embodiments, the first and second pluralities of holes 214P1 and 214P2 may have a separation distance 214Pw of about 0.5mm to 1.5 mm. In other words, the first plurality of apertures 214P1 may be spaced apart from the second plurality of apertures 214P2 by about 0.5mm to 1.5mm in the upstream direction.
In some embodiments, the first plurality of apertures 214P1 may be spaced about 22mm to 25mm from the upstream end of the tipping wrapper 230 (214P _ TEd), and the second plurality of apertures 214P2 may be spaced about 9mm to 12mm from the downstream end of the second filter 214 (214P _ MEd).
As shown in FIG. 3, first plurality of apertures 214P1 and second plurality of apertures 214P2 may be located in areas that do not overlap second capsule 214c, i.e., upstream of second capsule 214 c.
Figure 4 is a central axial direction partial cross-sectional view of a smoking article according to some embodiments of the invention.
In fig. 4, the same reference numerals as those in fig. 1 to 3 denote the same members, and a repetitive description will be omitted herein for convenience of description.
Referring to fig. 4, the smoking article 300 may include a smoking material portion 120, a smoking material wrapper 120a, a filter 210 for a smoking article, and a tipping wrapper 330, and the filter 210 for a smoking article may include a first filter 212, a second filter 214, a first wrapper 212a, a second wrapper 214a, a first capsule 212c, a second capsule 214c, and a combining wrapper 216.
The first perforated region 312P may be formed in the tipping wrapper 330 of the smoking article 300. As shown in fig. 4, the first perforated region 312P may have double perforations, i.e., may have a plurality of first holes 312P1 formed along the outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper 330 and a plurality of second holes 312P2 formed along the outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper 330 downstream of the first holes 314P1, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, unlike that shown in fig. 4, only one of the plurality of first holes 312P1 and the plurality of second holes 312P2 may be provided at the first perforated region 312P (single perforation), or additional holes other than the plurality of first holes 312P1 and the plurality of second holes 312P2 may be further provided at the first perforated region 312P.
Each of the plurality of first holes 312P1 and the plurality of second holes 312P2 may be formed at intervals along the outer circumferential surface of the tipping wrapper 130, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
The apertures may be formed by an off-line perforation process, i.e. in the manner in which the cigarette is manufactured using a pre-perforated tipping wrapper 330. The off-line perforation described above may be performed using a laser, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
By forming the plurality of first apertures 312P1 and/or the plurality of second apertures 312P2, the porosity of the tipping wrapper 330 in the first perforated region 312P may be about 190CU to 210 CU. In other words, the first plurality of apertures 312P1 and/or the second plurality of apertures 312P2 may be perforated such that the tipping wrapper 330 has a porosity of about 190CU to 210 CU. This is because when the porosity of the tipping wrapper 330 is less than about 190CU, the actual benefit is less in terms of the effect of increasing the delivery rate of the capsule content solution, and when the porosity of the tipping wrapper 330 is about 210CU or greater, mainstream smoke may leak through the first perforated region 312P.
As described above, when perforated off-line to form the holes, the porosity of the tipping wrapper 330 in the first perforated region 312P becomes approximately 190CU to 210CU, so that, as shown in figure 4, the holes are formed only in the tipping wrapper 330 and do not extend to the combined wrapper 216 and the first wrapper 212 a. Thus, the smoker can better deliver the solution of capsule contents that the first capsule 212c has ruptured to release outside the first capsule 212c to the smoker's hand without the apertures extending to the combined wrapper 216 and first wrapper 212a, thereby preventing mainstream smoke from leaking outside the smoking article 300.
In some embodiments, the first plurality of holes 312P1 and the second plurality of holes 312P2 may have a separation distance 312Pw of about 1mm to 3 mm. In other words, the first plurality of apertures 312P1 may be spaced apart from the second plurality of apertures 312P2 by about 1mm to 3mm in the upstream direction.
In some embodiments, the plurality of first holes 312P1 and the plurality of second holes 312P2 of the first perforated region 312P may be spaced apart a distance 312Pw that is about 1.5 to 3 times (e.g., 2 times) greater than the spacing distance 214Pw of the plurality of first holes 214P1 and the plurality of second holes 214P2 of the second perforated region 214P. For example, the spacing distance 312Pw may be about 2mm, and the spacing distance 214Pw may be about 1mm, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
In some embodiments, the first plurality of apertures 312P1 may be approximately 10mm to 13mm from the upstream end of the tipping wrapper 330 (312P _ Ted), and the second plurality of apertures 312P2 may be 20mm to 23mm from the downstream end of the second filter 214 (312P _ MEd).
In some embodiments, the plurality of second holes 312P2 of the first perforated region 312P may be spaced apart from the plurality of first holes 214P1 of the second perforated region 214P by a distance Per _ D of about 9mm to 10 mm.
On the other hand, as shown in fig. 4, unlike the plurality of first holes 214P1 and the plurality of second holes 214P2 of the second perforated region 214P, the plurality of first holes 312P1 and the plurality of second holes 312P2 of the first perforated region 312P are located at a region overlapping the first capsule 212c, so that the smoker breaks the first capsule 212c to release the capsule content solution outside the first capsule 212c to be better delivered to the smoker's hand.
As described above, in the smoking articles 100, 200, 300 according to the embodiments of the present invention, the flavor including the first flavor material such as ethyl vanillin and the like (and the second flavor material such as raspberry ketone and the like) is coated on the smoking material wrapper 120a, and further, the first filter 212 may include the first capsule 212c containing the flavor capable of reducing the hand odor (and the bad breath) of the smoker, and the second filter 214 may include the second capsule 214c containing the flavor capable of reducing the bad breath of the smoker, so that it is possible to reduce the odor (sidestream smoke odor, hand odor, and bad breath) that may be generated due to smoking and to prevent the reduction of the smoking odor at the time of smoking.
Alternatively, flavourants including the first flavourant material described above, such as ethyl vanillin (and the second flavourant material, such as raspberry ketone) may be added to the smoking material wrapper in various ways. For example, the flavourant described above may be added to the smoking material wrapper 120a described with reference to figures 1 to 4 prior to manufacture of the smoking article, and then the direct addition of the flavourant described above may be applied to the cigarette. In addition, after the smoking article is manufactured, the above-described flavourant may be added to the smoking article housing containing the manufactured smoking article and transferred to the smoking article. In the following, a smoking article housing according to another embodiment of the invention is described in detail.
Fig. 5 is a view showing a schematic structure of a smoking article outer shell according to some embodiments of the present invention, and fig. 6 is a view in which an inner liner included in the smoking article outer shell described above is developed on a plane.
With mutual reference to fig. 5 and 6, the smoking article housing 1000 may include a housing body 1100 housing the smoking article 100 and an inner liner 1200 disposed between the housed smoking article 100 and the housing body 1100 in a manner surrounding the smoking article 100.
The housing main body 1100 may include a housing lower body 1110 and a housing upper body 1120, the housing lower body 1110 having an upper portion opened and a space formed therein to accommodate the smoking article 100, and the housing upper body 1120 being connected to an upper rear end of the housing lower body 1110 in a folded manner to open and close the upper portion of the housing lower body 1110.
The inner liner 1200 may be arranged in a manner of surrounding at least one side of the smoking article 100, and preferably, may be arranged in a manner of surrounding the smoking article 100 from four directions, in order to more stably protect the smoking article within the housing body 1100 and prevent the smoking article 100 from being easily exposed to the outside. For example, the inner liner 1200 may be folded along an inner liner fold line 1200f shown in fig. 6 to four-way enclose the smoking article 100.
The liner 1200 may include liner rider lines 1200p for easily separating and removing the liner 1200a of the anterior upper region from the liner 1200b of the anterior lower region so that a smoker may easily remove the smoking article 100.
In order to transfer the flavor component to the smoking article 100 stored in the smoking article housing 1000, the inner liner 1200 may be coated with a flavor composition on at least a portion of the area.
In some embodiments, the above-described perfume composition may be applied only to one side of the liner 1200, and not to the other side opposite the one side. More specifically, the above-described flavor composition may be applied only to one of the two sides of the inner liner 1200, which is in contact with the smoking article 100, and not to the other of the two sides of the inner liner 1200, which is in contact with the inner side of the housing main body 1100. On the other hand, in order to transfer the flavor composition only to the smoking article 100 and to prevent the flavor composition from leaking toward the housing main body 1100 or to an outer region of the housing main body 1100, the other side of the liner 1200 may be coated with aluminum foil or the like or subjected to oil resistance treatment.
In some embodiments, the above-mentioned perfume applied on the liner 1200 may include a first perfume material selected from vanillin, ethyl vanillin, and ethyl vanillin glucoside, and, as a material other than the above-mentioned first perfume material, at least one or more second perfume materials selected from raspberry ketone, menthol, methoxyacetophenone, γ -undecanolactone, methyl anthranilate, cinnamic acid, myristic acid, anise oil, lemon oil, and orange oil may be included. As an example, the perfume composition may include about 20 wt% of ethyl vanillin, about 5 wt% of raspberry ketone, about 30 wt% of menthol, and about 45 wt% of ethanol, relative to the total weight of the perfume composition.
In some embodiments, the total length 1200L of the inner liner 1200 included in one smoking article housing 1000 may be about 220mm to 230mm (e.g., 227mm), the width 1200W may be about 65mm to 75mm (e.g., 70mm), and the total amount of flavor applied on the inner liner 1200 may be about 200mg, wherein the amount of ethyl vanillin may be about 40mg, the amount of raspberry ketone may be about 10mg, the amount of menthol may be about 60mg, and the amount of ethanol may be about 90 mg. Assuming that the flavor composition applied to the liner 1200 described above is transferred to 20 smoking articles 100 contained in the smoking article housing 1000, about 2mg of ethyl vanillin, about 0.5mg of raspberry ketone, and about 3mg of menthol may be included in 1 tobacco. The 1 tobacco may include about 0.6% by weight of ethyl vanillin, about 0.15% by weight of raspberry ketone, and about 0.9% by weight of menthol, relative to the total amount of 1 tobacco.
On the other hand, the length and width of the liner 1200, the total amount of perfume applied to the liner 1200, and the like are only numerical values as an example, and the present invention is not limited thereto. The total amount of perfume (or the amount of ethyl vanillin, etc.) applied to the liner 1200 described above may depend on the area of the liner 1200. For example, the total length 1200L of the liner 1200 may be about 150mm to 160mm (e.g., 155mm), the width 1200W may be about 110mm to 120mm (e.g., 114.5mm), and the total amount of perfume applied to the liner 1200 described above may be about 223.4 mg.
In some embodiments, the basis weight of the perfume applied on the liner 1200May be about 1g/m2To 20g/m2And preferably may be about 10g/m2To 15g/m2. The basis weight of the menthol applied to the liner may be about 0.3g/m2To 6g/m2And preferably may be about 3g/m2To 4.5g/m2
As described above, when the flavourant is applied to the inner liner 1200 included in the smoking article housing 1000, the above-described first flavourant material (and the above-described second flavourant material) is transferred to the smoking article 100, thereby masking sidestream smoke occurring when the smoking article 100 is smoked, to reduce tobacco odour. The flavored inner liner 1200 may be used with smoking articles employing flavored cigarette paper as described with reference to figures 1-4, but the invention is not limited thereto and may also be used with smoking articles employing non-flavored cigarette paper. For example, the above-described flavor is applied to the inner liner 1200 of the smoking article housing 1000, and the smoking articles included in the above-described smoking article housing 1000 may be smoking articles to which no flavor is added.
Hereinafter, the structure of the present invention and the effects thereof will be described in more detail by examples and comparative examples. However, these examples are only for illustrating the present invention more specifically, and the scope of the present invention is not limited by these examples.
First embodiment
After removing the wrapper surrounding the tobacco material of the cigarettes used in the tests of the examples, cigarettes suitable for wrappers having the physical properties of the first example in table 1 below were prepared.
Second embodiment
After producing a cigarette to which a cigarette paper having the physical properties of the following first comparative example was applied, the produced cigarette was stored in a smoking article outer shell using an inner liner coated with a flavor composition as described with reference to fig. 5 to 6, and then stored for about two months. The outer shell of the smoking article containing the cigarette is stored in an air-conditioning room with a temperature of about 22 ℃ and a humidity of about 62.5%.
The length of the lining is about 227mm, the width is about 70mm, and the lining perfume is uniformly coated on one side surface contacting with cigarettes in two side surfaces of the lining, but not coated on the other side surface contacting with the inner side surface of the outer shell body of the outer shell of the smoking article. The other side surface contacting with the inner side surface of the shell body is coated with aluminum foil.
The total amount of the above inner liner flavor liquid uniformly applied on the above inner liner was about 200mg, the content of ethyl vanillin was about 20 wt% (about 40mg), the content of raspberry ketone was about 5 wt% (about 10mg), the content of menthol was about 30 wt% (about 60mg), and the content of ethanol was about 45 wt% (about 90mg), relative to the total weight of the above inner liner flavor liquid. The base weight of the perfume solution coated on the liner is about 12.6g/m2The basis weight of the ethyl vanillin was about 2.5g/m2
First comparative example
As a wrapper surrounding the tobacco material, a cigarette to which a wrapper having physical properties of the first comparative example of table 1 below was applied was prepared.

The cigarettes according to the first to second embodiments and the first comparative example were smoking articles having a length of about 100mm in the upstream and downstream directions, a circumference of about 17mm, and tar of about 1.0mg, and the characteristics of the respective smoking material wrappers suitable for the first to second embodiments and the first comparative example are shown in table 1, as described above. In table 1, the first embodiment is different from the second embodiment and the first comparative example described above mainly in that ethyl vanillin is added or not at the time of preparing the smoking material wrapper, and is applied to rootsThe wrapper paper according to the first embodiment has ethyl vanillin added in an amount of 1% based on the basis weight of the smoking material wrapper paper, that is, about 0.46g/m2
First experimental example: analysis of the composition of sidestream and mainstream smoke produced during smoking
In order to analyze the components of sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke of the cigarettes according to the first to second embodiments and the first comparative example of the present invention, the sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke generated when each cigarette is smoked are trapped. Smoke trapping was repeated 3 times per sample, each trapping 70mL of sidestream smoke and 20mL of mainstream smoke. The results of the composition analysis based on the average of the results of 3 traps are shown in table 2 and fig. 7. Cigarettes were tested according to the Health Canada (HC) smoking conditions using an automated smoking device in a smoking room with a temperature of about 20 ℃ and a humidity of about 62.5%.

As shown in table 2 and fig. 7, ethyl vanillin about 3.2 times or more and vanillin about 2.5 times or more were detected in the sidestream smoke of the cigarette according to the first example compared with the sidestream smoke of the cigarette according to the first comparative example, and ethyl vanillin about 5 times or more and vanillin about 2.5 times or more were detected in the mainstream smoke. Raspberry ketone was not detected in both samples, and it is assumed that ethyl vanillin detected in the sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke of the first comparative example to which ethyl vanillin was not added occurred from the smoking material portion and the like of cigarettes other than the smoking material wrapper when the smoking material wrapper was prepared. From the above results, it was confirmed that ethyl vanillin added in the preparation of the smoking material wrapper surrounding the smoking material portion of the cigarette was delivered to the outside of the cigarette through mainstream smoke and sidestream smoke when the cigarette was smoked. Thus, it is predicted that the sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke generated when the cigarette is smoked according to the first embodiment are improved, and the bad tobacco smell generated when smoking is reduced by the increased ethyl vanillin. On the other hand, about 82 times or more ethyl vanillin was detected in the sidestream smoke of the cigarette according to the second embodiment as compared with the sidestream smoke of the cigarette according to the first comparative example, and about 150 times as much ethyl vanillin was detected in the mainstream smoke. In the samples of the first example and the first comparative example, raspberry ketone was not detected, and thus it was difficult to compare the values of raspberry ketone, but it was confirmed that raspberry ketone above the meaningful value was detected in the second example with reference to the values of ethyl vanillin or vanillin detected in the first example and the first comparative example. It is predicted that when a raspberry ketone component is included in sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke as shown in the second example, an improvement in sidestream smoke and/or mainstream smoke or a masking effect of tobacco smoke odour is produced by raspberry ketone flavour. From the above results, it was confirmed that the flavor liquid (i.e., ethyl vanillin, raspberry ketone, etc.) applied to the inner liner in the outer shell of the cigarette was transferred to the cigarette, and when the cigarette was smoked, the ethyl vanillin and raspberry ketone were transferred to the outside of the cigarette through the mainstream smoke and the sidestream smoke. Thus, the sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke produced when the cigarette according to the first embodiment is smoked is improved and the bad taste occurring at the time of smoking is reduced by the increased ethyl vanillin and the newly occurring raspberry ketone.
On the other hand, in the second embodiment by applying ethyl vanillin to the inner liner and transferring to the cigarette paper, the value of ethyl vanillin was only increased, unlike the results of the first embodiment in which ethyl vanillin was applied to the cigarette itself, and the amount of vanillin was not meaningfully different from that of the first comparative example.
In comparing the results of the second embodiment with the first embodiment, greater than about 25 times greater ethyl vanillin was detected in sidestream smoke of the cigarette according to the second embodiment as compared to sidestream smoke of the cigarette according to the first comparative example, and about 30 times greater ethyl vanillin was detected in mainstream smoke. It is predicted that the sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke improvement and tobacco odor reduction effects of the second embodiment are more enhanced than those of the first embodiment.
On the other hand, in the second embodimentIn the example, not only the absolute value is simply increased, but the amount of ethyl vanillin included in the smoke (sidestream smoke and mainstream smoke) is also advantageous compared with the first embodiment, as compared with the added amount of ethyl vanillin. Specifically, the ethyl vanillin was applied to the liner of the second embodiment at a basis weight of about 2.5g/m2This is 0.46g/m as the basis weight of ethyl vanillin added directly to the wrapper of the first example2About 5.5 times. Considering that the amount of ethyl vanillin detected in the sidestream smoke of the second embodiment is about 25 times that of the first embodiment and the amount of ethyl vanillin detected in the mainstream smoke is about 30 times that of the first embodiment, it can be confirmed that the aerosol generation effect of ethyl vanillin of the second embodiment is significantly higher than that of the first embodiment when the same amount (or the same basis weight or the like) of ethyl vanillin is applied, and this is presumably due to loss of flavor solution or the like in the process of preparing cigarettes after adding flavor solution to the cigarette paper or the like. Alternatively, when the cigarette is stored in the smoking article casing after the flavor solution is applied to the inner liner as in the second embodiment, it is estimated that the flavor solution is more uniformly transferred to the components (for example, smoking material portion, filter, etc.) other than the cigarette paper of the cigarette than in the case of storing the cigarette after directly adding the flavor solution to the cigarette paper as in the first embodiment, and the aerosol of ethyl vanillin at the time of smoking is facilitated.
Second experimental example: sensory evaluation of sidestream smoke and smoke taste at the time of smoking
Sensory evaluation was performed to confirm the odor reducing effect and the degree of reduction in smoking odor of the sidestream smoke of the cigarettes according to the first to second examples and the first comparative example of the present invention, and the results are shown in fig. 8 and 9.
Fig. 8 is a sensory characteristic evaluation result of sidestream smoke of the cigarettes according to the first to second embodiments and the first comparative example, and fig. 9 is a sensory characteristic evaluation result of smoke taste of the cigarettes according to the first to second embodiments and the first comparative example.
The sensory characteristics of fig. 8 and 9 were evaluated on 60 panelists, and the scores were scored on the basis of a 7-point full score.
As shown in fig. 8, the smoking article of the first embodiment in which ethyl vanillin was added to the smoking material wrapper showed about 11% increase in the sidestream smoke sweetness, about 12% decrease in the unpleasant odor of sidestream smoke, and about 14% increase in the sidestream smoke acceptance, as compared with the first comparative example, whereby it was confirmed that the sidestream smoke generated when the cigarette to which ethyl vanillin was added to the wrapper as shown in the first embodiment was smoked was not reduced in the smoke smell but improved in a preferable direction.
In the case of the second embodiment, it was confirmed that the above-described sidestream smoke improvement effect is more remarkable than that of the first embodiment. Specifically, the cigarette of the second example increased the sidestream smoke sweetness by about 31% as compared with the first comparative example (increased by about 18% as compared with the first example), and the sidestream smoke unpleasant odor was reduced by about 55% as compared with the first comparative example (reduced by about 49% as compared with the first example), and the effect was remarkable, and the sidestream smoke acceptance was also increased by about 34% as compared with the first comparative example (increased by about 17% as compared with the first example), whereby it was confirmed that the sidestream smoke evaluation index was improved in all the sidestream smoke evaluation indexes in the ideal direction.
On the other hand, as shown in fig. 9, it is understood that the sensory characteristic evaluation results of the smoking taste of the cigarettes of the first and second examples are improved in most of the evaluation indexes as compared with the first comparative example.
Specifically, in the case of the cigarette of the first example, the taste of smoking was found to be improved in a preferred direction over the first comparative example in all evaluation indexes, and in particular, it was confirmed that the taste intensity during smoking was increased by about 19%, swallowing during smoking was increased by 16%, and the harmonious taste during smoking was slightly increased.
In addition, in order to minimize the feeling of heterogeneity with the existing tobacco, the physical property values of the smoking material wrapper in the smoking article of the first embodiment used for the sensory property evaluation of fig. 8 and 9 were set somewhat conservatively and experiments were performed, but when the basis weight of the smoking material wrapper and the added amount of ethyl vanillin were increased as compared with the first embodiment, it was predicted that more excellent sensory properties were exhibited in terms of the sidestream smoke improvement effect.
In the case of the cigarette of the second example, the harmonious taste was reduced by about 4% during smoking and the unpleasant odor was increased by about 7% during smoking, but the taste intensity was increased by about 22% during smoking, the swallowing was increased by about 25% during smoking, and the refreshing aftertaste was increased by about 28% or more during smoking, as compared with the first comparative example.
As described above, according to the smoking article and the smoking article housing including the same of the embodiments of the present invention, a flavorant including a first flavorant material such as ethyl vanillin (and a second flavorant material such as raspberry ketone) is added to a smoking material wrapper, so that sidestream smoke generated in the smoking article can be improved, while a reduction in the smoking taste that may occur upon smoking due to the improvement in sidestream smoke can be prevented.
It will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the inventive concept as defined by the following claims. The exemplary embodiments should be considered in descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation. Therefore, the scope of the inventive concept is defined not by the detailed description of the exemplary embodiments but by the appended claims, and all differences within the scope will be construed as being included in the present inventive concept.

Claims (16)

1. A smoking article adapted for use with sidestream smoke modifying technology, comprising:
a smoking material section surrounded by a smoking material wrapper,
a filter section having an upstream end bonded to the smoking material section, the filter section being surrounded by a filter wrapper, an
Tipping paper that wraps at least a partial region of the smoking material section and the filter section so as to join the smoking material section and the filter section;
the smoking material wrapper is preferably applied with a flavorant containing a first flavorant material selected from vanillin, ethyl vanillin, and ethyl vanillin glucoside.
2. A smoking article adapted for use in sidestream smoke enhancement technology according to claim 1,
the above perfume further comprises at least one second perfume material selected from raspberry ketone, menthol, methoxyacetophenone, gamma-undecanolactone, methyl anthranilate, cinnamic acid, myristic acid, anise oil, lemon oil and orange oil.
3. A smoking article adapted for use in sidestream smoke enhancement technology according to claim 2,
at least one of the first flavorant material and the second flavorant material added to the smoking material wrapper is transferred from an inner liner of an outer shell of a smoking article housing the smoking article.
4. A smoking article adapted for use in sidestream smoke enhancement technology according to claim 1,
the mass of the first flavorant material contained in the smoking material wrapper is 1% or more of the mass of the smoking material wrapper.
5. A smoking article adapted for use in sidestream smoke enhancement technology according to claim 4,
the mass of the first flavorant material contained in the smoking material wrapper is 2% to 7% of the mass of the smoking material wrapper.
6. A smoking article adapted for use in sidestream smoke enhancement technology according to claim 1,
the mass ratio of the smoking material wrapping paper to the surface area of the smoking material wrapping paper is 20g/m2To 60g/m2
The ratio of the mass of the first flavoring material to the surface area of the smoking material wrapper is 0.2g/m2To 0.6g/m2
7. A smoking article adapted for use in sidestream smoke enhancement technology according to claim 6,

11. A smoking article adapted for use in sidestream smoke enhancement technology according to claim 1,
the filter section includes a first filter and a second filter, the first filter being joined to the smoking material section, the second filter being joined to a downstream end of the first filter,
the filter wrapper includes a first wrapper surrounding the first filter, a second wrapper surrounding the second filter, and a combined wrapper surrounding the first filter and the second filter so as to be combined with the first filter surrounded by the first wrapper and the second filter surrounded by the second wrapper,
said first filter comprising first capsules containing a first flavorant, said second filter comprising second capsules containing a second flavorant,
the first wrapper is formed of a wrapper which is not subjected to oil-resistant treatment so that the first perfume in the first capsules is released to the outside of the first wrapper when the first capsules are ruptured.
12. A smoking article housing adapted for use with sidestream smoke modifying technology, comprising:
a housing body containing a plurality of smoking articles, an
An inner liner disposed between the plurality of smoking articles and the outer shell body so as to surround the plurality of smoking articles;
the inner liner is coated with a fragrance including a first fragrance material selected from vanillin, ethyl vanillin, and ethyl vanillin glucoside.

the above perfume further comprises at least one second perfume material selected from raspberry ketone, menthol, methoxyacetophenone, gamma-undecanolactone, methyl anthranilate, cinnamic acid, myristic acid, anise oil, lemon oil and orange oil.
14. The smoking article housing adapted for use with sidestream smoke enhancement technology of claim 13,
the above fragrance includes the above raspberry ketone and the above first fragrance material in a weight ratio of 1:2 to 1:8, or includes the above menthol and the above first fragrance material in a weight ratio of 1:0.5 to 1: 1.
15. The smoking article housing adapted for use with sidestream smoke enhancement technology of claim 12,
the flavoring is applied only to one of the two sides of the liner that contacts the plurality of smoking articles.
16. The smoking article housing adapted for use with sidestream smoke enhancement technology of claim 15,
