本发明涉及用于从一种记录载体中再现数字音频信号的一种装置,这种记录载体包含以一种第一格式记录在其上的第一数字音频信号和以一种第二格式记录在其上的第二数字音频信号,该装置包括:
用于从所说记录载体读取信息信号的读出装置,
用于将从记录载体中读出的信息信号声道解码为解码信息信号的解码装置,
用于接收选择信号的输入装置,
用于响应所说的选择信号产生输出信号的输出装置,所说输出信号包括所说的第一数字音频信号或第二数字音频信号,所说输出装置还将识别信号加入所说输出信号中,所说识别信号指示所说输出信号包含所说第一数字音频信号或另一种音频信号。
本发明还涉及用于再现所说数字音频信号的一种方法。在本领域中众所周知的一种如篇首段落所定义的装置是一种DVD视频再现装置,如在JEI,1996年12月,题目为“Intriguing DVD technologyopens broad possibilities”,pp.21-25中所述,该文献为在本说明书末尾所列相关文献列表中的D1。
DVD视盘包含以一种第一格式,即众所周知的线性PCM格式存储在其上的一种第一数字音频信号。这种第一数字音频信号由立体声音频信号的左信号分量和右信号分量组成。此外,DVD盘包含以一种第二格式,即MPEG编码格式存储在其上的第二数字音频信号。这种第二数字信号可以是多声道形式的,可以包含左信号分量和右信号分量,以及中央信号分量和一个或两个环绕信号分量。
这种装置具有用于将音频信号传输到一个外部解码器的一个IEC958输出接口,所说外部解码器包含用于将第二数字音频信号解码为所说信号分量的一个多声道解码器。
本发明的目的在于提供一种改进的再现装置。根据本发明构成的这种再现装置的特征还在于:

本发明基于以下认识。现有技术再现装置具有再现至少两种数字音频信号的可能性。第一音频信号可以是以线性PCM格式编码的音频信号。当再现这种第一数字音频信号时,将这种音频信号施加到所说输出装置,例如IEC958数字音频接口,也可以施加到一个外部音频解码器装置中。为了将线性PCM音频信号解码,外部装置包括一个D/A转换器。
当现有技术的再现装置转换到第二种再现模式中时,其中在第二种模式中再现以MPEG格式编码的音频信号,MPEG编码的音频信号施加到IEC958音频接口。这种外部装置还包括一个MPEG解码器以将这种MPEG格式编码的音频信号解码。当现有技术的再现装置转换到第二再现模式时,IEC958接口上的信息流从线性PCM编码的音频信号改变为MPEG格式编码的音频信号。外部装置必须检测信息流内容的变化。这需要一定的时间。但是,在这个时间间隔里,D/A转换器接收了它不能解码的信息。结果,该外部装置将输出严重畸变的信号,这种信号可能会损坏与外部装置相连的扬声器。
通过在转换过程中使施加到IEC958的音频信号静音,能够避免外部装置产生严重畸变的输出信号。这种静音操作是通过检测所说选择信号并响应该选择信号产生一个静音信号而实现的。此外,在所说识别信号发生相应变化之后的一定时间间隔里仍然保持这种静音状态。在采用IEC958接口的实例中,识别信号为IEC958接口上的声道状态信号的第二位(b1)。这一位标识出接口处于一种‘正常音频模式’或者处于一种‘非音频模式’。在‘正常音频模式’,在接口上产生的音频信号为线性PCM编码的音频信号,这种信号可以用外部装置中的标准D/A转换器解码,当在接口上产生非线性PCM编码音频信号,例如MPEG编码信号时,接口处于‘非音频模式’。上述的一定时间间隔的长度与外部装置检测所说识别信号变化所需时间间隔有关。
根据本发明的一个方面,提供了一种用于从一种记录载体中再现一种数字音频信号的装置,所说记录载体包含以一种第一格式记录在其上的一种第一数字音频信号和以一种第二格式记录在其上的一种第二数字音频信号,该装置包括:用于从所说记录载体读取信息信号的读出装置,用于将从记录载体中读出的信息信号声道解码为解码信息信号的解码装置,用于接收选择信号的输入装置,用于响应所说的选择信号产生输出信号的输出装置,所说输出信号包括所说的第一数字音频信号或第二数字音频信号,所说输出装置还将识别信号加入所说输出信号中,所说识别信号指示所说输出信号包含所说第一数字音频信号或另一种音频信号,其中,所述解码装置还用于响应所说选择信号使由所说输出装置产生的第一数字音频信号静音以选择所说的第二音频信号,所说解码装置从所说选择信号产生时起将所说输出装置保持在静音状态,直到所说识别信号发生相应变化之后一定时间间隔为止。
根据本发明的另一方面,还提供了一种从一种记录载体再现一种数字音频信号的方法,所说记录载体包含以一种第一格式记录在其上的一种第一数字音频信号和以一种第二格式记录在其上的一种第二数字音频信号,该方法包括以下步骤:从所说记录载体中读取信息信号;将从所说记录载体中读取的信息信号声道解码为解码的信息信号;接收一个选择信号;响应所说选择信号传输包括第一数字音频信号或者第二数字音频信号的一个输出信号,并且将一个识别信号加入所说输出信号中,所说识别信号指示所说输出信号包括所说第一数字音频信号或者另一种音频信号;响应所说选择信号的产生使所说第一数字音频信号静音,以选择所说的第二音频信号,并从所说选择信号产生时刻起保持所说的静音状态直至所说识别信号发生相应变化之后一定时间间隔为止。
从以下在附图描述中对于实施例的阐述可以明确地了解本发明的这些和其它方面,在所说附图中:
图1表示本发明再现装置的一个实施例,该装置与一个外部解码器相连,和
图2表示一些时序图。
图1根据本发明构成的一种再现装置1的组合,该装置通过一个IEC958接口总线2与一个外部音频解码器装置3相连。在本例中,再现装置1为用于从DVD视盘4中再现信息的一个DVD播放机。再现装置1包括一个读出单元6,所说读出单元6包括一个读头(未示出),例如一个光学读头,用于从盘4中读出信息和将从盘4中读出的信息传送到一个输出端8。输出端8与一个多路分解器12的输入端1 0相连,该多路分解器具有两个输出端14和16。输出端14与一个视频解码器20的输入端18相连,输出端16与一个音频解码器24的输入端22相连。视频解码器20的输出端26构成装置1的视频输出端。音频解码器24具有两个输出端28和30,它们构成装置1的立体声音频输出端。
装置1还包括用于由使用者向该装置输入指令的按键32。按键32与一个中央处理器36的输入端34相连。处理器36的输入/输出端38分别与读出单元6、多路分解器12、视频解码器20和音频解码器24相应的控制输入/输出端40、42、44和46相连。音频解码器24的另一个输出端48与一个输出单元50相连,以根据IEC958音频接口格式将音频信号传输到一个输出端52。
装置1读出记录在盘4中的信息,并将从盘4中读出的信息传输到所说多路分解器12。在多路分解器中,进行某些声道解码,以便获得声道解码信息。此外,多路分解器12从声道解码信息中获得视频信号信息,并将这些信息传输到输出端14,以备在视频解码器20中进一步处理,并且从声道解码信息中获得音频信号信息,和将这些信息传输到输出端16,以备在音频解码器24中进一步处理。
中央处理器36响应由使用者借助按键32作出的选择产生用于音频解码器24的一个控制信号,该信号能够使音频解码器24从音频信号信息中选择线性PCM编码信号或者MPEG编码音频信号,并将所选择的音频信号传输到输出端28和30。
当选择线性PCM编码音频信号进行进一步处理时,音频解码器24从施加到其输入端22的信息中检索这种PCM音频信号,并将这些PCM音频信号传输到解码器24中的一个D/A转换器(未示出)。结果,一个立体声音频信号传输到装置1的输出端28、30。
当选择MPEG编码音频信号时,音频解码器24从施加到其输入端22的信号中检索对应于MPEG编码的多声道音频信号的信息,并从中获得一种兼容的立体声信号,将这种信号传输到输出端28、30。
因此应当指出,在本例中,为了经济上的原因,装置1没有配备多声道输出端,从而不能将多声道音频信号从这样一个输出端传输。
为了能够再现这种多声道音频信号,需要将一个外部多声道音频解码器,例如解码器3,与装置1相连。在图1中是通过将装置1借助于IEC958音频接口2与解码器3相连而实现的。
IEC958音频接口的结构和格式在本领域中是众所周知的。有关IEC标准958可以参见相关文献列表中的D2。此外,还可参见相关文献列表中的文献D3,  即WO 97/133339,该专利与美国专利申请no.08/724390(PHN15.503)同族,以及相关文献列表中的文献D4,PCT国际专利申请no.IB96/1267(PHN15.603),这篇文献公开了也可以传输多声道音频信号的一种扩展格式。
在IEC958接口上产生的信息流由192帧连续数据组构成(标记为no.0帧至no.191帧),每一帧包括两个子帧。每个子帧分成32个时隙(或位),编号为0至31。包含在该信息流中的一个声道为包括‘声道状态’信号的声道。‘声道状态’信号为包含在每一子帧的第31时隙(位编号30)中的信号。‘声道状态’信号由192位字组成,这些位标记为b0至b191(其中包含0和191)。当位b1为0时,表示接口处于正常音频传输模式。在这种情况下,规则的线性PCM编码音频信号通过该接口传输,从而与该接口相连的一个D/A转换器可以对这些PCM编码的音频信号解码。当位b1为1时,表示该接口处于一种‘非音频’传输模式。
当将装置1转换到第一再现模式时,在这种模式下装置1选择再现线性PCM编码音频信号,音频解码器从施加到其输入端22的信号中检索立体声音频信号的左声道信号分量和右声道信号分量,并将它们以IEC958传输格式传输到输出端52。这时声道状态信号中的位b1为0。
当选择MPEG编码的音频信号时,音频解码器24从施加到其输入端22的信号中检索对应于MPEG编码多声道音频信号的信息,并以IEC958传输格式将该多声道音频信号传输到输出端52。这时声道状态信号的位b1为1。
现在参照图2a至2c的信号示意图进一步介绍再现装置1的功能。下面解释装置1在由使用者借助按键32作出的选择的作用下如何工作,以选择再现MPEG编码音频信号,而不是选择再现PCM编码音频信号。在时刻t0之前,再现装置处于第一再现模式,在这种模式下再现PCM编码音频信号。图2a表示由处理器36传送到音频解码器24的选择信号,在时刻t0之前,该选择信号为低电平。当选择第二再现模式时,由CPU36传输到音频解码器24的选择信号在时刻t0从“低”状态改变为“高”状态,参见图2a。为了响应选择信号的变化,如图2a所示,音频解码器24在选择信号发生变化之后的一个时间间隔里使其输出静音。作为一个例子,当在时刻t0选择信号开始变化时,该静音时段开始,并持续一段时间t2-t0,参见图2b。更具体地说,这个时段是由声道状态信号中的位b1发生变化的时刻,即时刻t1确定的,参见图2c,和在该时刻之后持续一个时间间隔t2-t1。该时间间隔t2-t1由外部音频解码器检测声道状态信号中的位b1从0变化到1的第一时间所需时间确定。当声道状态信号中位b1的发生速率大约为500Hz时,这个时间间隔t2-t1最小为2毫秒。
为了保证通过接口2与装置1相连的外部音频解码器正确地检测出声道状态信号中位b1的变化,时间间隔t2-t1可以具有相当大的值,例如8.2毫秒。
因此,在时刻t0之前,音频解码器48通过接口2传输PCM编码的立体声音频信号,在t0与t2之间的时间间隔里处于一种静音模式,从而从接口2输出零幅值的音频采样信号,在时刻t2之后通过接口2传输MPEG编码格式的多声道音频信号。
这样避免了与装置1相连的外部音频解码器在其输出端产生严重畸变的输出信号。
外部音频解码器3包括用于接收IEC958传输信号的一个输入端60。输入端60与一个输入单元62相连,用于按照IEC958音频接口格式接收音频信号。输入单元62的一个输出端与音频解码器66的一个输入端64相连。音频解码器66可以具有多个音频输出端,例如用于传输PCM编码的立体声音频信号的左声道信号分量和右声道信号分量的输出端68、70,用于分别传输中央信号(C)、左环绕信号(Ls)和右环绕信号(Rs)的输出端72、74和76,此外,如果需要,还包括用于传输中央左(Lc)和中央右(Rc)信号分量的输出端78、80。
当装置1处于第一再现模式时,在时刻t0之前(参见图2a),它通过IEC958接口2向外部解码器3传输PCM编码的音频信号。响应该操作,解码器3通过其输出端68、70传输一个立体声信号L、R。当装置1转换到第二再现模式时,解码器3在t0与t2之间的时间间隔接收一个静音信号,因此在其输出端没有输出信号(实际上是零输出信号)。在时刻t1与t2之间的时间间隔中的某一时刻,该音频解码器3检测到声道状态信号中位b1值的变化,从而将音频解码器66转换为MPEG音频解码模式。
在时刻t2之后,音频解码器3通过接口2接收MPEG编码的多声道信号,这种信号可以由解码器3以正确的方式解码。
虽然已经参照本发明的优选实施例描述了本发明,但是应当理解这些实施例并不是限制性实施例。因此,对于本领域技术人员来说,在不脱离由权利要求书限定的本发明范围的前提下,显然可以作出多种改进。

用于从所说记录载体读取信息信号的读出装置,
用于将从记录载体中读出的信息信号声道解码为解码信息信号的解码装置,
用于接收选择信号的输入装置,
用于响应所说的选择信号产生输出信号的输出装置,所说输出信号包括所说的第一数字音频信号或第二数字音频信号,所说输出装置还将识别信号加入所说输出信号中,所说识别信号指示所说输出信号包含所说第一数字音频信号或另一种音频信号,
其特征在于:
所述解码装置还用于响应所说选择信号使由所说输出装置产生的第一数字音频信号静音以选择所说的第二音频信号,
所说解码装置从所说选择信号产生时起将所说输出装置保持在静音状态,直到所说识别信号发生相应变化之后一定时间间隔为止。
2、如权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于所说时间间隔的长度大于或等于通过所说输出装置与所说装置相连的一个接收器检测所说识别信号变化所需的时间长度。
3、如权利要求2所述的装置,其特征在于所说时间间隔具有大于2毫秒的长度。
4、如权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于所说第一数字音频信号是一个PCM编码音频信号。
5、如权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于所说第二数字音频信号是一个MPEG编码的音频信号。
6、如权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于所说输出装置将所说输出信号传输到一个IEC958接口声道上。
