The rolls are important parts of rolling mills in steel rolling mills, and roll steel by using pressure generated when a pair or a group of rolls roll. It mainly bears the influence of dynamic and static load, abrasion and temperature change during rolling. Mechanical stress during rolling is related to thermal stress of the roll, and particularly, the mechanical stress is more easily generated when the temperature difference between the surface of the roll body and the core part is large. Such temperature differences may be caused by poor roll cooling, cooling interruptions or overheating of the roll surface at the start of a new rolling cycle. The large temperature difference between the surface and the core of the roll causes large thermal stress, and the roll breakage is caused when the large thermal stress, mechanical stress, and residual stress of the roll exceed the core strength of the roll. For example, the roll may increase the longitudinal thermal stress by 100MPa at a temperature difference of 70 ℃ between the roll surface and the core, the greater the temperature difference, the greater the increased thermal stress.
