Description

Side airbag device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a side airbag device provided in a vehicle for protecting an occupant, for example, when the vehicle collides from the side, hereinafter referred to as "side collision". In particular, the present invention relates to a side airbag device effective when installed on the vehicle width direction center side away from the side door. For example, the driver seat is provided on the side of the passenger seat, and the passenger seat is provided on the side of the driver seat, and hereinafter referred to as the "far side".
Hereinafter, in the present application, "upper" and "upper" refer to the head direction of an occupant seated in a regular state, and "lower" refer to the foot direction of an occupant seated in a regular state. The terms "front" and "front" refer to the front direction of the occupant seated in the normal state, and the terms "rear" and "rear" refer to the rear direction of the occupant seated in the normal state. And the "left-right direction" refers to the vehicle width direction.
Technical Field
For example, in the event of a side collision, a side airbag device that suppresses movement of an occupant in the direction of the impact action to protect the occupant is provided in the side interior of a seatback portion of a seat, hereinafter referred to as a "seatback".
In this side airbag device, for example, when a side collision occurs, the inflator is activated to generate gas by an output signal from a sensor that detects the collision, and the airbag cushion is deployed to the side of the occupant seated in the seat.
In the case where the side airbag device is provided on the side close to the side door, that is, on the near side, when the occupant hits the deployed airbag cushion, the movement of the airbag cushion in the direction of the impact action is inhibited by the side door.
However, when the side airbag device is disposed on the far side, there is no side door that blocks the movement of the airbag cushion in the direction of the impact action, as when it is disposed on the near side. Therefore, in order to suppress the movement of the occupant, it is necessary to hold the deployed airbag cushion so as to suppress the movement thereof in the direction in which the collision acts.
When the side airbag device is disposed on the far side, for example, in the case where the passenger does not sit in the passenger seat, it is more particularly necessary to suppress the movement of the deployed airbag cushion than in the case where the passenger seat and the passenger seat both have an occupant.
Therefore, with respect to the side airbag device disposed on the far side, various proposals have been made for a configuration in which, when the occupant hits the deployed airbag cushion, the movement of the airbag cushion in the direction in which the impact acts is suppressed.
For example, patent document 1 discloses a side airbag device in which an auxiliary cushion that is deployed upward of an inter-center-seat tank (seat BOX) from an upper direction intermediate portion is provided on a main cushion that is interposed between an occupant and the inter-center-seat tank at the lower portion when the side airbag device is deployed.
In the side airbag device disclosed in patent document 1, when the airbag is deployed, interference occurs between the lower portion of the main airbag cushion and the storage box between the auxiliary airbag cushion and the center seat, and movement of the main airbag cushion in the direction of the impact action is suppressed.
However, the side airbag device disclosed in patent document 1 has a limited height, which is the length in the vertical direction of the center-seat trunk that interferes with the main airbag cushion and the sub-airbag cushion. Therefore, when the occupant hits the deployed main bag cushion, the movement of the occupant in the direction of the impact action cannot be sufficiently suppressed.

Disclosure of Invention
Problems to be solved by the invention
The problem to be solved by the present invention is that, in the side airbag device of patent document 1 in which interference occurs between the main airbag cushion, the auxiliary airbag cushion, and the center-seat storage box, when a vehicle collides, the movement of the airbag cushion in the direction of the collision action cannot be sufficiently suppressed.
Means for solving the problems
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to effectively suppress the movement of an airbag cushion in the direction of a collision action when the occupant collides against the deployed airbag cushion even when only the occupant sits on a driver seat and no occupant sits on a passenger seat.
That is, the present invention is a side airbag device having an airbag cushion that is provided on a side surface portion on the far side of a seat back of any one of a seat on one side and a seat on the other side that are arranged side by side in the left-right direction, and that restrains movement of an occupant in a direction in which a collision acts to protect the occupant when a collision occurs.
Inside the airbag cushion, an inflator is provided that receives a signal from a sensor to generate gas and deploy the airbag cushion.
The airbag cushion of the present invention includes a main chamber and an auxiliary chamber provided in a base fabric panel on a side opposite to a side of the main chamber on a side of a passenger, the side of the base fabric panel being in contact with the passenger seated in the one-side seat.
In the present invention, for example, when an occupant seated in one seat collides with a side surface of the other seat and moves in the direction of the other seat, interference occurs between the deployed auxiliary chamber and a side surface support portion of the one seat formed in the seatback of the other seat. And the interference gives a reaction force from the other-side seat to the main chamber that is deployed. Therefore, by setting the contact position between the auxiliary chamber and the side surface support portion on the one seat side of the other seat to the most suitable position in the vertical direction, the main chamber can effectively suppress the movement of the occupant seated in the one seat toward the other seat side. The most suitable contact position between the auxiliary chamber and the other seat is a position in the vertical direction at which the movement of the main chamber in the direction of the impact action can be most effectively suppressed, and is a position in the vertical direction at which the shoulder of the occupant moving in the direction of the impact action contacts the main chamber.
In the present invention, the main chamber is provided on any one of a side surface portion on the far side of the one seat back and a side surface portion on the far side of the seat back of the other seat.
When the main chamber is provided in the one-side seat, the auxiliary chamber is attached to the main chamber so as to be expanded to the front side of the side support portion on the one-side seat side of the seat back of the other-side seat. Alternatively, the auxiliary chamber is attached to the main chamber so as to be spread out on the side surface of the one-side seat side of the side support portion of the one-side seat side of the seat back of the other-side seat.
According to the arrangement described above, in the former case, the occupant seated in the one seat moves in the direction of the other seat, and the auxiliary chamber abuts against the side of the other seat on which the occupant of the other seat of the one-side seat side support portion of the other seat side is seated. On the other hand, in the latter case, when the occupant seated in one seat moves in the direction of the other seat, the auxiliary chamber comes into contact with the side surface of one seat side of the side surface support portion of one seat side of the seatback of the other seat, or the side surface and the front surface thereof. By these contacts, the movement of the occupant seated in one seat in the direction toward the other seat can be effectively suppressed.
At this time, the main chamber is divided into a vehicle front side chamber and a vehicle rear side chamber, and if the auxiliary chamber is provided on the vehicle front side chamber among them, the gas flows in the order of the vehicle rear side chamber, the vehicle front side chamber, and the auxiliary chamber, and thus is smoothly developed.
On the other hand, if the main chamber is divided into the vehicle front side chamber and the vehicle rear side chamber and the auxiliary chamber is provided in the vehicle rear side chamber, the gas flows from the vehicle rear side chamber to the auxiliary chamber and the vehicle front side chamber, and is smoothly expanded.
In addition, when the airbag cushion is deployed, the vehicle rear side chamber main portion can more reliably separate the occupant from the collision side if it can be deployed in the side support of the driver's seat. In case that the occupant deviated from its correct position or the like is not seated in the regular position, excessive deployment pressure is not applied to the occupant, thereby reducing unnecessary injuries. The main portion of the vehicle rear side chamber means a portion that includes the periphery of the portion where the inflator is disposed and covers as wide a range of the vehicle rear side chamber as possible.
On the other hand, when the main chamber is provided on the other seat, the auxiliary chamber is attached to the main chamber so as to be expanded toward the one seat side of the side support portion on the one seat side formed on the seat back of the other seat. With this arrangement, the main chamber can be positioned in substantially the same lateral position as when the main chamber is set on the seat on one side when the main chamber is unfolded.
Effects of the invention
In the present invention, when a collision occurs, the deployed auxiliary chamber and the front passenger seat of the other seat interfere with each other and the deployed main chamber can receive a reaction force from the front passenger seat. Therefore, even when there is an occupant in the driver's seat of only one side seat and there is no occupant in the passenger seat, the movement of the occupant seated in the driver's seat in the direction of the passenger seat can be effectively suppressed.

Detailed Description
The present invention aims to effectively suppress the movement of an airbag cushion in the direction of a collision action when the occupant collides with the deployed airbag cushion even when only the occupant sits on a driver's seat and no occupant sits on a passenger seat.
The present invention achieves the above object by an airbag cushion having a main chamber and an auxiliary chamber, and configured such that, when a collision occurs, movement of an occupant in a direction in which the collision acts is restrained, and the main chamber that is expanded while the expanded auxiliary chamber interferes with a front passenger seat and the main chamber that is expanded receives a reaction force from the front passenger seat.
Detailed Description
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
(first embodiment)
Fig. 1 and 2 are views showing a side airbag device 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
The side airbag device 1 of the present invention is mounted on a seatback frame SBF inside a seatback SB that is a seat frame functioning as a framework of a seat S including a seatback SC, a seatback SB, and a headrest HR. Hereinafter, one seat of the driver's seat is referred to as Sd, and the other seat of the front passenger seat is referred to as Sn.
In this side airbag device 1, for example, a cylindrical inflator 3 is disposed inside an airbag cushion 2, and the inflator 3 receives an output signal from a sensor and then ejects gas from the outer surface thereof into the airbag cushion 2.
On the outer side surface of the inflator 3, 2 protruding studs 3a are provided at appropriate intervals in the longitudinal direction, and the airbag cushion 2 is mounted to the seat back frame SBF using these studs 3 a.
The airbag cushion 2 has a main chamber 2a and an auxiliary chamber 2 b.
As shown in fig. 1, the main chamber 2a is vertically longer than the front-rear direction and has a thickness in the left-right direction, and is formed in a bag shape by sewing 5 the outer peripheral portions of 1 piece of base fabric 4 formed in left-right symmetry, for example.
On the other hand, the auxiliary chamber 2b is formed by sewing 7 the outer peripheries of two base cloth panels 6a and 6b, for example, into a bag shape, and is attached to a base cloth panel 4b, and the base cloth panel 4b is the side opposite to the base cloth panel 4a on the occupant side of the main chamber 2a with which the occupant P seated in the driver's seat Sd comes into contact.
When the auxiliary chamber 2b is attached to the opposite base cloth plate 4b, for example, the outer peripheral side of the base cloth plate 6b on the one side of the auxiliary chamber 2b may be sewn 8 to the opposite base cloth plate 4 b. Further, inside the sewing 8, for example, at the position 2, gas discharge holes 9a and 9b for allowing gas generated by the inflator 3 to flow from the main chamber 2a into the auxiliary chamber 2b are provided. The main chamber 2a (the base fabric panel 4b on the opposite side) and the auxiliary chamber 2b (the base fabric panel 6b) are also sewn 10 around these exhaust holes 9a, 9 b.
In embodiment 1, the main chamber 2a is divided into a vehicle front side chamber 2aa and a vehicle rear side chamber 2ab by sewing 11 a partition cloth 2ac to the main chamber 2 a.
A gas discharge hole 12 is also provided in the partition cloth 2ac so that gas generated by the inflator 3 can flow from the vehicle rear side chamber 2ab into the vehicle front side chamber 2 aa.
The exhaust holes 12 are provided at substantially the same vertical height as the exhaust holes 9a and 9b and at a position higher than the exhaust hole 9a, for example. By providing the gas vent hole 12 at this position, the gas generated by the inflator 3 can smoothly flow from the vehicle rear side chamber 2ab into the vehicle front side chamber 2aa and into the auxiliary chamber 2b through the vehicle front side chamber 2 aa.
In addition, in the event of a collision, the auxiliary chamber 2b is attached to the vehicle front side chamber 2aa, for example, in the vicinity of the vehicle rear side chamber 2ab so as to be able to expand forward of the driver seat side support portion SS formed in the seat back cushion SB of the front passenger seat Sn, see fig. 1(a) and 2 (a).
On the other hand, an inflator 3 is provided in the vehicle rear side chamber 2ab, and the main chamber 2a is attached to a side surface portion of a passenger seat of the seatback SB of the driver seat Sd via the inflator 3.
In the event of a collision, the auxiliary chamber 2b is smoothly expanded in front of the side support portion SS of the front passenger seat Sn, and when the occupant P moves in the direction of the front passenger seat side, it comes into contact with the side of the front passenger seat, on which the occupant sits, of the side support portion SS of the front passenger seat Sn on the seat side, as shown in fig. 2 (b).
Since the auxiliary chamber 2b interferes with the side surface support portion SS on the driver's seat side of the front passenger seat Sn and the main chamber 2a that is expanded receives a reaction force from the front passenger seat Sn, the movement of the occupant P seated in the driver's seat in the direction of the front passenger seat can be effectively suppressed.
If the gas generated by the inflator 3 can be smoothly supplied to the auxiliary chamber 2b, the mounting position of the auxiliary chamber 2b to the main chamber 2a is preferably in the vicinity of the vertical position where the shoulder of the occupant P after the movement abuts against the main chamber 2 a.
(embodiment 2)
Fig. 3 and 4 are views showing a 2 nd embodiment of the side airbag device of the invention. In fig. 3 and 4, the same reference numerals as those in fig. 1 and 2 denote the same components or components corresponding thereto, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.
In embodiment 2 shown in fig. 3 and 4, the main chamber 2a is provided on the front passenger seat Sn. In embodiment 2, as in embodiment 1, the main chamber 2a is divided into a vehicle front side chamber 2aa and a vehicle rear side chamber 2ab by a partition cloth 2 ac.
In addition, in embodiment 2, by attaching the auxiliary chamber 2b to the vehicle rear side chamber 2ab, as shown in fig. 4(a), the auxiliary chamber 2b is deployed on the driver's seat side of the seat back SB of the front passenger seat Sn at the time of a collision.
With this configuration, the main chamber 2a can be positioned in the left-right direction substantially the same as that of the first embodiment when it is unfolded.
In embodiment 2, the exhaust holes 12 provided in the partition cloth 2ac are provided at positions equally divided in the vertical direction 3 of the partition cloth 2ac, for example, unlike embodiment 1 in which the auxiliary chamber 2b is attached to the vehicle front side chamber 2 aa. The gas vent hole 12 is provided at this position, so that the gas generated by the inflator 3 is smoothly introduced from the vehicle rear side chamber 2ab into the vehicle front side chamber 2 aa. Further, the fluid is directly introduced into the auxiliary chamber 2b from the vehicle rear side chamber 2 ab.
As shown in fig. 4(a), the auxiliary chamber 2b is deployed in the driver seat of the side support portion SS of the front passenger seat Sn when a collision occurs. When the occupant P moves in the direction toward the front passenger seat, as shown in fig. 4(b), the auxiliary chamber 2b abuts against the side surface and the front surface of the seat side of the seat support portion SS of the seatback SB of the front passenger seat Sn, and the main chamber 2a receives a reaction force from the front passenger seat Sn. Then, the movement of the occupant P in the direction toward the passenger seat side is effectively suppressed by the reaction force.
(embodiment 3)
Fig. 5 is a view showing a 3 rd embodiment of the side airbag device of the present invention. In fig. 5, the same reference numerals as in fig. 2 denote the same components or components corresponding thereto, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.
The 3 rd embodiment shown in fig. 5 is configured such that, in the event of a collision, the main portion of the vehicle rear side chamber 2ab of the 1 st embodiment is deployed inside the passenger seat side support portion SS of the seatback SB of the driver seat Sd.
Specifically, the mounting position of the inflator 3 in the vehicle rear chamber 2ab is moved from the rearmost position to the front as in embodiment 1, and most of the vehicle rear chamber 2ab is housed in the side support portion SS during deployment. In the example shown in fig. 5, the airbag cushion 2 is shown deployed from the front side of the side support portion SS when deployed.
With this configuration, the passenger P can be reliably kept away from the passenger seat Sn on the collision side. Therefore, even if the occupant P seated in the driver's seat deviates from the correct position thereof, excessive deployment pressure is not applied to the occupant P, so that unnecessary injuries can be reduced. The term "deviated from the correct position" refers to a state in which the occupant P is not seated at the correct position, for example, a state in which the occupant is seated in a state of leaning forward greatly.
The present invention is not limited to the above-described examples, and the embodiments may be modified as appropriate as long as the embodiments fall within the scope of the technical ideas described in the claims.
That is, the side airbag device described above is a preferable example of the present invention, and includes other embodiments. In particular, the present invention is not limited to the shapes, sizes, structural arrangements, and the like of the detailed components shown in the drawings, as long as the patent specification does not describe any limitation. In addition, the expressions and terms used in the specification of the present application are for descriptive purposes and are not limited to the specific ones unless otherwise specified.
For example, instead of embodiment 1, in the event of a collision, as shown in fig. 6 and 7, the auxiliary chamber 2b may be deployed on the driver's seat side of the driver's seat side support portion SS of the seatback SB of the front passenger seat Sn, as in embodiment 2.
In the case of the 4 th and 5 th embodiments shown in fig. 6 and 7, the auxiliary chamber 2b is attached to the chamber 2ab on the vehicle rear side.
In the 4 th embodiment of fig. 6, after the passenger P moves in the direction of the passenger seat side in the event of a collision, the deployed auxiliary chamber 2b is brought into contact with the driver seat side surface and the front surface of the side surface support portion SS of the seatback SB of the passenger seat Sn as shown in fig.
