Background
At present, in the process of lifting and lowering an instrument (or a tool) through a cable (or a steel wire) in the process of logging a production well or testing, due to the well conditions, construction operation and the like, the cable (or the steel wire) is usually broken under the condition that the instrument (or the tool) is blocked. The wireline (or slickline) left in the wellbore sometimes presents a short wireline (or slickline) condition, as shown in fig. 2, which can present difficulties for later fishing operations. This is because when fishing is performed using a conventional inner or outer fishing spear, the fishing operation fails because the cable (or wire) remaining in the wellbore is short and cannot be wound around the spear. If the slip overshot or the three-ball fisher is used for fishing, due to the reason of a short cable (or a steel wire), the slip overshot or the three-ball fisher cannot smoothly catch a fishing head or a fishing main body of a well-dropping instrument (or a tool), and the fishing success rate is influenced. If destructive fishing operations such as punching fishing and the like are adopted, although the success rate of the fishing operations can be improved, structural damage can be caused to instruments (or tools) falling into a well, and the instruments (or tools) can not be reused due to the damage of the instruments (or tools) when the well is fished out, so that the fishing cost is increased.

The invention also discloses a using method of the underground short cable cutter, which has small dependence on equipment and operation technology, is simple to operate, and has higher success rate while not damaging a card-encountering instrument.

the invention discloses a downhole short cable cutter, which comprises a connecting part 1 and a cutting part 2 as shown in figure 1, wherein an annular boss which can be grabbed and fixed by other fishing devices can be arranged between the connecting part 1 and the cutting part 2. The hardness of the cutting surface 2-2 is greater than that of a short cable at the end part of the clamping instrument, and the cutting surface 2-2 can be quenched, carburized, surface-sprayed and the like during processing; the diameter of the blind hole 2-1 is 2/3-3/4 of the diameter of the end part of the card-contacting instrument. When the blind hole 2-1 is sleeved at the end part of the instrument encountering the card and applies force through the fishing instrument string at the upper part, the cutting surface 2-2 and the end part of the instrument encountering the card act together to cut off a short cable at the end part of the instrument encountering the card.
The use method of the underground short cable cutter comprises the following steps:
step 1: fixedly connecting the connecting part 1 of the cutter with the upper fishing instrument string;

Claims (8)

A downhole short cable cutter is characterized by comprising a connecting part (1) and a cutting part (2); the connecting part (1) is used for being connected with an upper fishing instrument string; the cutting part (2) is of a hollow columnar structure, the center of the cutting part is provided with a blind hole (2-1), the orifice of the blind hole (2-1) is sequentially provided with a cutting surface (2-2) and a shoe guiding surface (2-3) from inside to outside, and the cone angle of the shoe guiding surface (2-3) is larger than that of the cutting surface (2-2); the cone angle of the cutting surface (2-2) is 40-50 degrees; a plurality of discharge holes (2-4) communicated with the outside are arranged in the blind hole (2-1);
when the fishing tool is used, the blind hole (2-1) is sleeved at the end part of the instrument which meets the card, when the fishing tool string on the upper part applies force, the cutting surface (2-2) descends, and the cutting surface (2-2) can cut off the short cable at the end part of the instrument which meets the card.
