技术领域

背景技术
涂层的耐沾污性(dirt pick up resistance,DPUR)是将涂层表面上的污垢、灰尘、烟灰和其它这类材料的累积减至最少的能力。DPUR性能差的涂层通常具有不干净并且暗淡的外观。
改善涂层DPUR性能的常规方法是通过在涂层应用中使用二苯甲酮作为光引发剂。在紫外(UV)光曝露下发生二苯甲酮光化学,这是UV光诱导的聚合物的交联反应。这种常规方法可以以低成本利用太阳光作为UV源。然而,二苯甲酮存在一些缺点。二苯甲酮在长时间内改善DPUR性能的效果较差。二苯甲酮光化学引起的交联效应在应用期间在雨天条件下也将严重降低。由于高剂量水平的二苯甲酮导致交联过度,所以涂膜表面易于破裂。二苯甲酮容易升华,这可能导致挥发性有机化合物(VOC)排放。
为了改善长期DPUR性能,二苯甲酮衍生物与二苯甲酮组合一起用作光稳定添加剂。然而,由于二苯甲酮的存在,VOC排放仍然是一个问题。
因此,希望提供新颖二苯甲酮衍生物作为二苯甲酮和二苯甲酮与二苯甲酮衍生物的组合的替代物,所述新颖二苯甲酮衍生物提供更好的交联效率和DPUR性能改善。

在第三方面中,本发明提供包含第二方面的水性共聚物分散液的水性涂料组合物。

本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物可以通过常规的取代反应来制备。在一个实施例中,二苯甲酮衍生物可以通过以下来合成:在一种或多种强碱催化剂存在的情况下在约120℃(摄氏度)到180℃的温度下使4-羟基苯胺与4-氯二苯甲酮或4,4′-二氯二苯甲酮反应。如本说明书中所使用,强碱催化剂是无机氢氧化物。合适的强碱催化剂的实例包括氢氧化钠、氢氧化钾;或其组合。强碱催化剂优选是氢氧化钠。
水性共聚物分散液包含:
(a)水性乳液共聚物,其中水性乳液共聚物包含以下作为共聚单元:以共聚物的干重计至少90重量%烯键式不饱和非离子单体;和以共聚物的干重计至多10重量%烯键式不饱和稳定剂单体;和

本文中的“非离子单体”意思是共聚单体残基在pH=1-14之间不带离子电荷。烯键式不饱和非离子单体包括例如(甲基)丙烯酸酯单体,其中“(甲基)丙烯酸酯”表示甲基丙烯酸酯或丙烯酸酯,包括丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸2-乙基己酯、丙烯酸癸酯、丙烯酸月桂酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸丁酯、甲基丙烯酸异癸酯、甲基丙烯酸月桂酯、甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯、甲基丙烯酸羟丙酯;(甲基)丙烯腈;氨基官能单体和脲基官能单体;带有烷氧基硅烷官能团的单体;带有乙酰乙酸酯官能团的单体;苯乙烯和取代的苯乙烯;丁二烯;乙烯、丙烯、α-烯烃如1-癸烯;乙酸乙烯酯、丁酸乙烯酯、叔碳酸乙烯酯和其它乙烯基酯;以及乙烯基单体如氯乙烯、偏二氯乙烯。
“稳定剂单体”在本文中是指共聚单体残基在pH=1-14之间带有离子电荷。稳定剂单体包括例如具有3到8个碳原子的β-单烯键式不饱和羧酸、酸酐和酰胺。a,β-单烯键式不饱和羧酸单体包括例如丙烯酸、甲基丙烯酸、巴豆酸、衣康酸、马来酸和其盐或酸酐以及这些酸的酰胺、特别地丙烯酰胺和甲基丙烯酰胺;和其组合。稳定剂单体进一步包括含硫或含磷的酸性单体。
在一个实施例中,水性乳液共聚物可以进一步包含以共聚物的干重计至多5重量%、优选至多3重量%、更优选至多2重量%共聚多烯键式不饱和单体,例如甲基丙烯酸烯丙酯、邻苯二甲酸二烯丙酯、1,4-丁二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、1,2-乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯、1,6-己二醇二丙烯酸酯或二乙烯基苯;或其组合。
在一个实施例中,水性乳液共聚物具有-70℃到+70℃、优选-40℃到+30℃的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)。
本文所使用的“Tg”是通过使用Fox方程(T.G.Fox,Bull.美国物理学会(AmericanPhysical Society),第1卷,第3期,第123页(1956))计算的那些值。举例来说,为了计算单体M1和M2的共聚物的Tg,
其中Tg(计算值)是针对共聚物计算的玻璃化转变温度,w(M1)是共聚物中的单体M1的重量分数,w(M2)是共聚物中的单体M2的重量分数,Tg(M1)是M1的均聚物的玻璃化转变温度,并且Tg(M2)是M2的均聚物的玻璃化转变温度,所有温度都以K为单位。单体的玻璃化转变温度可以例如见于《聚合物手册(Polymer Handbook)》,第四版,由J.Brandrup、E.H.Immergut和E.A.Grulke编辑,Interscience Publishers,1999中。
本发明的水性乳液共聚物可以通过所属领域熟知的聚合技术来制备。在聚合过程中可以使用热引发工艺或氧化还原引发工艺。以总单体的重量计通常可以以0.01重量%到3.0重量%的含量使用常规的自由基引发剂,如过氧化氢、叔丁基过氧化氢、叔戊基过氧化氢、铵和碱金属过硫酸盐。使用与合适的还原剂如甲醛次硫酸钠、连二亚硫酸钠、异抗坏血酸、硫酸羟胺和亚硫酸氢钠偶合的相同引发剂的氧化还原***可以以类似含量使用,任选地与金属离子如铁和铜组合,任选地进一步包括金属络合剂。在反应时间段内,单体混合物可以使用均一或变化的组成以单次添加或多次添加或连续方式来添加。在单体添加之前、期间或之后可以添加额外的成分,如氧化剂、还原剂、链转移剂、中和剂、表面活性剂和分散剂。
在本发明的另一个实施例中,水性乳液共聚物可以通过多阶段乳液聚合方法来制备,其中至少两个组成不同的阶段以依序方式聚合。用于制备这类多阶段乳液聚合物的聚合技术在所属领域中众所周知。这类方法有时导致至少两种互不相容的聚合物组合物的形成,从而导致聚合物颗粒内的至少两个相的形成。这类颗粒由两个或更多个具有各种几何形状和形态的相构成,例如芯/壳或芯/皮颗粒、具有不完全封装芯的壳相的芯/壳颗粒、具有多个芯的芯/壳颗粒以及互穿网状颗粒。在所有这些情况下,颗粒的大部分表面区域将被至少一个外相占据,并且颗粒的内部将被至少一个内相占据。多阶段乳液聚合物的每个阶段可以含有如本文上面针对乳液聚合物所公开的相同的单体、表面活性剂、链转移剂等等。在多阶段聚合物颗粒的情况下,出于本发明的目的,在不考虑其中的阶段数或期数的情况下使用乳液聚合物的总组成通过如本文所详述的Fox方程来计算Tg。类似地,对于多阶段聚合物颗粒,在不考虑其中的阶段数或期数的情况下单体的量应该由乳液聚合物的总组成确定。
如通过BI-90粒度分析仪所测量,水性乳液共聚物颗粒的平均粒径是50到800纳米,优选100到400纳米。
水性涂料组合物包含水性共聚物分散液,所述水性共聚物分散液包含
(a)水性乳液共聚物,其中乳液共聚物包含以下作为共聚单元:以共聚物的干重计至少90重量%烯键式不饱和非离子单体;和以共聚物的干重计至多10重量%烯键式不饱和稳定剂单体;和
(b)以共聚物的干重计0.05重量%到3重量%、优选0.1重量%到1重量%并且更优选0.2重量%到0.8重量%本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物。
水性涂料组合物可以进一步包含至少一种涂料佐剂。佐剂在本文中是指除乳液共聚物以外的涂料中的组分。
佐剂可以包含颜料。合适的颜料的实例包括氧化锌、氧化锑、氧化锆、氧化铬、氧化铁、氧化铅、硫化锌、锌钡白和二氧化钛,例如锐钛矿和金红石二氧化钛。还预期水性共聚物分散液任选地含有不透明聚合物颗粒,如可以从陶氏化学公司(The Dow ChemicalCompany)的全资子公司罗门哈斯公司(Rohm and Haas Company)获得的ROPAQUETM不透明聚合物。
佐剂可以包含至少一种增充剂。合适的增充剂的实例包括碳酸钙、硫酸钙、硫酸钡、云母、粘土、煅烧粘土、长石、霞石、正长岩、硅灰石、硅藻土、硅酸铝、具有高于35℃的玻璃化转变温度的非成膜聚合物颗粒、氧化铝、硅溶胶和滑石。
佐剂可以包含着色剂。合适的着色剂的实例包括无机着色剂颗粒和有机着色剂颗粒。合适的无机着色剂颗粒的实例包括例如氧化铁、氧化铬、炭黑和金属效果颜料(metaleffect pigment)如铝、铜、氧化铜、青铜、不锈钢、镍、锌和黄铜。合适的有机着色剂颗粒的实例包括例如偶氮颜料、酞菁颜料和喹吖啶酮颜料。
佐剂任选地包括其它材料,包括流变改性剂、聚结剂、溶剂、杀生物剂、润湿剂、消泡剂、染料、保湿剂、蜡、表面活性剂、消光剂、中和剂、缓冲剂、冷冻-解冻添加剂(free-thawadditive)、增塑剂、防泡剂、增粘剂、受阻胺光稳定剂、光吸收剂、分散剂和抗氧化剂。光吸收剂可以与水性共聚物分散液组合或可以随后添加到水性涂料组合物中。光吸收剂的合适含量占水性共聚物分散液的0.1重量%到7重量%固体基础。
水性涂料组合物中的颜料和增充剂的量在0到85%颜料体积浓度(PVC)范围内变化,并且因此涵盖所属领域中另外描述的涂料,例如清洁涂料、无光涂料、缎纹涂料、半光泽涂料、光泽涂料、底漆、纹理涂料等。优选的PVC是10%到70%,更优选的PVC是10%到60%。颜料体积浓度通过下式计算:
如果要使水性共聚物分散液经颜料着色,则优选地使用高剪切混合使至少一种颜料分散于水性介质中。可替代地,可以使用至少一种预分散颜料。在一种方法中,通过在低剪切搅拌下视需要与其它佐剂一起混合来将水性共聚物分散液同时或依序添加到颜料分散液中以提供经颜料着色的水性共聚物分散液。可替代地,可以在水性共聚物分散液存在的情况下制备颜料浆液。
水性涂料组合物的固体含量通常在25体积%到60体积%范围内。如通过使用布鲁克菲尔德数字粘度计KU-1(Brookfield Digital Viscometer KU-1)所测量,水性涂料组合物的粘度通常是50KU(克雷布斯单位(Krebs Unit))到140KU。适用于不同应用方法的粘度差异很大。
本发明的水性涂料组合物可以通过涂料领域中熟知的技术来制备。水性涂料组合物中的组分可以按任何次序混合以提供本发明的水性涂料组合物。上文所提及的任选组分中的任一种也可以在混合期间或之前添加到组合物中以形成水性涂料组合物。
使用本发明的水性涂料组合物的过程可以包含以下:将水性涂料组合物施加到衬底上,使所施加的水性涂料组合物曝露于UV光,并且干燥所施加的水性涂料组合物或允许其干燥。本发明的水性涂料组合物可以通过已知方式如刷涂、浸涂、辊涂和喷涂施加到衬底上。涂料组合物优选通过喷涂来施加。可以使用标准喷涂技术和喷涂设备,如空气雾化喷涂、空气喷涂、无空气喷涂、高体积低压喷涂和静电喷涂如静电钟形件应用,以及人工或自动化方法。在将本发明的水性涂料组合物施加到衬底上之后,可以在21℃到25℃的室温下或在例如35℃到60℃的高温下干燥水性涂料组合物或允许其干燥以形成膜。
本发明的水性涂料组合物可以施加到并粘附到各种衬底上。合适的衬底的实例包括木材、金属、塑料、泡沫、石头、弹性衬底、玻璃、织品或混凝土。
由水性涂料组合物制备的干涂层可以用作保护涂层或美观涂层。合适的涂料的实例包括建筑涂料,如内部和外部油漆涂料,包括砖石涂料、木材涂料、水泥涂料和处理剂;保养涂料,如金属涂料;纸张涂料;和交通涂料,如用于在道路、人行道和跑道上提供标记的那些涂料。
在本说明书中,除非另外指示,否则每个优选技术方案和更优选技术方案中的技术特点可以彼此组合以形成新的技术方案。为了简洁起见,本申请人省略对这些组合的描述。然而,通过组合这些技术特点而获得的所有技术方案都应被视为明确地逐字地描述于本说明书中。
实例
当未详细描述实例中的实验方法时,预期其遵循所属领域的正常条件例如聚合物化学手册,或遵循化学或仪器制造商建议的条件。
I.所用原材料
下文表1到3列举可以用于制造本发明的某些实施例的二苯甲酮衍生物、水性共聚物分散液和水性涂料组合物的代表性材料。

II.分析方法
为了确定给定水性涂料组合物样品的DPUR水平,进行DPUR测试。
通过使用刮涂辊棒将水性涂料组合物样品涂布在石棉上以形成120微米厚的湿膜作为第一层。使经涂布石棉在一致温度室(23℃和50%相对湿度)中固化4小时。然后通过使用刮涂辊棒将水性涂料组合物样品施加到第一层上以形成80微米厚的湿膜作为第二层。使经涂布石棉在一致温度室(23℃和50%相对湿度)中固化14天。然后将经涂布石棉曝露于配备有UVA-340nm灯(QUV加速风化测试仪:型号QUV/Spray;辐照度0.77W/m2/nm)的QUV加速风化测试仪1小时、2小时或4小时。
给定水性涂料组合物样品的DPUR水平是根据GB/T9780-2013标准的项目5.4(5.4.1.2方法A)来评估:本文中的GB/T9780-2013标准是用于建筑涂料和油漆的膜的耐沾污性和污渍去除的测试方法的国家标准,其由中华人民共和国(P.R.China)国家质量监督检验检疫总局(General Administration of Quality Supervision,Inspection andQuarantine of the People′s Republic of China)和中国国家标准化管理委员会(Standardization Administration of the P.R.China)公布,于2013年11月27日颁布,并且于2014年8月1日生效。
III.样品制备
1.本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物的合成
本发明的二苯甲酮衍生化合物A
本发明的二苯甲酮衍生化合物A是通过以下程序合成的。将21.6克4-氯二苯甲酮、11.99克4-羟基苯胺、0.56克氢氧化钾依序添加到250-ml容器中的100毫升(ml)NMP中。将容器加热到150℃到190℃的温度持续约12小时。然后,使容器中的混合物冷却到室温。在减压条件下通过蒸馏从混合物中移除溶剂NMP。然后将100ml甲苯添加到混合物中。接着通过使用50-ml 5%NaCl溶液来洗涤混合物。在甲苯层形成之后,在减压条件下通过蒸馏从混合物中移除甲苯。获得26.0克中间物。
将23.1克中间物和1.1克碳酸钾添加到100-ml容器中的50ml氯乙醇中。将容器加热到70℃持续5小时,随后使混合物冷却到室温。然后在减压条件下通过蒸馏从混合物中移除氯乙醇。接着通过在乙醇溶液中重结晶来纯化粗混合物。然后获得20.5克本发明的二苯甲酮衍生化合物A。
本发明的二苯甲酮衍生化合物B
本发明的二苯甲酮衍生化合物B是通过以下程序合成的。将25.0克4,4′-二氯二苯甲酮、23.98克4-羟基苯胺、0.56克氢氧化钾依序添加到250-ml容器中的100ml NMP中。将容器加热到150℃到190℃的温度持续约12小时。然后,使容器中的混合物冷却到室温。在减压条件下通过蒸馏从混合物中移除溶剂NMP。然后将100ml甲苯添加到混合物中。接着通过使用50-ml 5%NaCl溶液来洗涤混合物。在形成甲苯层之后,在减压条件下通过蒸馏移除甲苯。获得35.0克中间物。
将31.68克中间物和1.1克碳酸钾添加到100-ml容器中的50ml氯乙醇中。将容器加热到70℃持续5小时,随后使混合物冷却到室温。然后在减压条件下通过蒸馏从混合物中移除氯乙醇。接着通过在乙醇溶液中重结晶来纯化粗混合物。然后获得32.5克本发明的二苯甲酮衍生化合物B。
2.水性共聚物分散液的制备
本发明的水性共聚物分散液的制备
本发明的水性共聚物分散液1:通过在搅动下将1克本发明的二苯甲酮衍生化合物A与500克PRIMALAC-261P粘合剂掺合来制造溶液。
本发明的水性共聚物分散液2到4是通过使用如针对本发明的共聚物分散液1所概述的相同方法来制备的,不同之处在于所使用的不同二苯甲酮衍生物和粘合剂的量。制造本发明的共聚物分散液1到4的各种组分的量(以克为单位)示于下表4中。
比较水性共聚物分散液的制备
比较水性共聚物分散液1:通过在搅动下将1克二苯甲酮与500克PRIMAL AC-261P粘合剂掺合来制造溶液。
比较水性共聚物分散液2:通过在搅动下将1克二苯甲酮与500克ELASTENE 3808粘合剂掺合来制造溶液。
制造比较共聚物分散液1和2的各种组分的量(以克为单位)示于下表4中。

3.水性涂料组合物的制备
本发明的水性涂料组合物1
本发明的水性涂料组合物1是使用本发明的水性共聚物分散液1用48VS/40PVC(VS:体积固体)制剂制造的。
研磨期:将150.0克水、15.0克丙二醇、2.0克NATROSOL 250HBR增稠剂、2.0克AMP-95基料、10.0克OROTAN CA-2500分散剂、2.0克TRITON BD-109润湿剂、1.0克NOPCO NXZ消泡剂、7.0克ROCIMA 363杀生物剂、150.0克TI-PURE R-902颜料和130.0克CC-700增充剂添加到槽中并用COWLES混合器高速搅拌。然后良好地分散研磨期组分。
调漆期:然后将380.0克本发明的水性共聚物分散液1、50.0克ROPAQUE Ultra E不透明聚合物、19.0克TEXANOL聚结剂、5.0克ACRYSOL RM-8W增稠剂和10.0克ACRYSOL RM-2020NPR增稠剂添加到槽中并用常规实验室混合器(IKA混合器)搅拌。
研磨期和调漆期中所使用的组分的量(以克为单位)示于下表5中。

本发明的水性涂料组合物2到4和比较组合物1和2
本发明的水性涂料组合物2到4和比较组合物1和2是通过使用针对本发明的水性涂料组合物1所概述的相同程序来制备,不同之处在于调漆期中所使用的不同水性共聚物分散液和TEXANOL聚结剂的量。本发明的水性涂料组合物2到4和比较组合物1和2的调漆期中所使用的各种水性共聚物分散液和TEXANOL聚结剂的量(以克为单位)示于下表6中。

IV.所分析的所有涂料组合物的总结
出于证明体现本发明的水性涂料组合物的优异特性的目的,已经制备并分析了具有各种关键成分组合的大量涂料样品。
首先,在使用本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物制备的水性涂料组合物与使用常规二苯甲酮制备的那些水性涂料组合物之间进行DPUR性能的比较。具体地说,本发明的水性涂料组合物1到4是由本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物制成的;而比较水性涂料组合物1和2是由常规二苯甲酮制成的。
其次,在使用本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物制备的水性涂料组合物与使用常规二苯甲酮制备的那些水性涂料组合物之间进行在不同UV照射时段下的UV引发剂效率的比较。
V.分析结果
下表7总结根据上述测试方法测定的本发明的水性涂料组合物(用本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物制成)和比较水性涂料组合物(用常规二苯甲酮制成)的DPUR水平。

表7显示,对于用PRIMALAC-261P粘合剂制成的水性涂料组合物,使用本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物(本发明的水性涂料组合物1和2)制成的那些水性涂料组合物证明低于使用常规二苯甲酮(比较水性涂料组合物1)制成的水性涂料组合物的DPUR水平的DPUR水平(更好的DPUR性能);对于用ELASTENE 3808粘合剂制成的水性涂料组合物,使用本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物(本发明的水性涂料组合物3和4)制成的那些水性涂料组合物再次证明低于使用常规二苯甲酮(比较水性涂料组合物2)的DPUR水平的DPUR水平(更好的DPUR性能)。
表7进一步显示,在不同的UV照射时段(1小时、2小时和4小时)下,使用本发明的二苯甲酮衍生物(本发明的水性涂料组合物3)制成的水性涂料组合物证明低于相应地使用常规二苯甲酮(比较水性涂料组合物2)制成的水性涂料组合物的DPUR水平的DPUR水平(更好的DPUR性能)。
Claims (7)
1.一种二苯甲酮衍生物,其由下式A表示:

其中R1和R2各自独立地是氢、烷基或取代的烷基,并且R3是氢或具有式B结构:

其中R4和R5独立地是氢、烷基或取代的烷基。
2.一种水性共聚物分散液,其包含
(a)水性乳液共聚物;和
(b)以所述共聚物的干重计0.05重量%到3重量%根据权利要求1所述的二苯甲酮衍生物。
3.根据权利要求2所述的水性共聚物分散液,其中所述水性共聚物分散液包含以所述共聚物的干重计0.2重量%到0.8重量%根据权利要求1所述的二苯甲酮衍生物。
4.根据权利要求2所述的水性共聚物分散液,其中所述水性乳液共聚物进一步包含以所述共聚物的干重计至多5重量%共聚多烯键式不饱和单体。
5.根据权利要求2所述的水性共聚物分散液,其中所述水性乳液共聚物具有-70℃到+70℃的玻璃化转变温度。
6.根据权利要求2所述的水性共聚物分散液,其中所述水性乳液共聚物包含以下作为共聚单元:以所述共聚物的干重计至少90重量%烯键式不饱和非离子单体;和以所述共聚物的干重计至多10重量%烯键式不饱和稳定剂单体。
7.一种水性涂料组合物,其包含根据权利要求2到6中任一项所述的水性共聚物分散液。
