背景技术
具备在一面显示图像的液晶面板来作为图像显示部的显示装置用于电视接收机、电子招牌等。显示装置具有液晶面板和配置于该液晶面板的另一面侧的背光装置。液晶面板的周缘部由配置于一面侧的边框以及配置于另一面侧的面板框架夹持。
背光装置大致分为直下型和侧光型,但在要求高画质的大型显示装置中,广泛采用直下型的背光装置。直下型的背光装置具有:具有开口的浅底箱形的背光框架;光源,配置于该背光框架内;以及漫射板,与液晶面板的另一面对置并且覆盖背光框架的开口。在液晶面板以及漫射板之间配置有光学片。漫射板使来自光源的光均匀地漫射,光学片进行该光的会聚等。

来自背光装置的光通过从一方的偏光膜透射而变为仅在一个方向振动的光。液晶面板通过液晶使所述光的振动方向变化,调整另一方的偏光膜的光的透射率,由此在一面显示图像。
显示装置在使用过程中形成高温的情况下,偏光膜以恢复至延伸前的状态的方式收缩。在此,在偏光膜的一个方向的尺寸比另一个方向的尺寸长的情况下,将另一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜的收缩比将一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜的收缩对液晶面板的影响更大。因此,液晶面板的将一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜侧弯曲呈凸状。

但是,在专利文献1所记载的显示装置中,由于液晶面板的弯曲,存在光学片被液晶面板以及漫射板夹住,在光学片产生褶皱、变形等而产生显示缺陷的问题。此外,在专利文献2所记载的显示装置中,对于大画面的显示装置,无法充分抑制液晶面板的弯曲,作为显示缺陷的对策,效果不足。
本发明是鉴于上述问题而完成的,其目的在于提供一种能够抑制显示缺陷的产生的显示装置。
用于解决问题的方案
本发明的显示装置的特征在于,具备:液晶面板,一个方向的尺寸比与该一个方向正交的另一个方向的尺寸长,具有以所述一个方向或另一个方向为偏光方向而偏光方向相互正交并且隔着透光性的基板对置的两张偏光膜,使将所述另一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜的一侧弯曲呈凸状,在一面显示图像;漫射板,配置于该液晶面板的另一面侧;以及光学片,配置于所述液晶面板以及漫射板之间。
根据本发明,使液晶面板在将另一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜的一侧弯曲呈凸状。在高温环境下,偏光膜在与偏光方向垂直的方向收缩,液晶面板欲在将一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜的一侧弯曲呈凸状。因此,通过在将另一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜的一侧使液晶面板预先弯曲呈凸状,能在将一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜位于光学片侧的情况下,防止液晶面板与光学片接触。由此,能抑制光学片被液晶面板以及漫射板夹住,在光学片产生变形、褶皱而产生显示缺陷。
本发明的显示装置的特征在于,所述液晶面板呈矩形,将所述液晶面板的短尺寸方向设为偏光方向的所述偏光膜配置于所述液晶面板的所述一面侧,所述液晶面板具备:边框,呈矩形框状,覆盖所述液晶面板的一面的周缘部,在所述液晶面板侧的长边的中央部设有凹部;以及面板框架,呈矩形框状,在长边的中央部设有凸部,从所述另一面侧支承所述液晶面板。
根据本发明,能通过面板框架的凸部以及边框的凹部,使液晶面板在一面侧弯曲呈凸状。因此,能通过液晶面板的弯曲来防止液晶面板与光学片接触。由此,能抑制光学片被液晶面板以及漫射板夹住,在光学片产生变形、褶皱而产生显示缺陷。而且,通过设置凹部,抑制由矫正因液晶面板的偏光膜的收缩导致的弯曲所引起的显示缺陷的产生。
本发明的显示装置的特征在于,所述凸部分别设置于所述面板框架的两条长边,所述凹部分别设置于所述边框的两条长边。
根据本发明,能稳定地使液晶面板弯曲。

边框6具有矩形框形的平板部6a和从该平板部6a的一面的外周缘垂直立起的侧板部6b。在边框6的平板部6a的所述一面侧,沿着平板部6a的四边配置有间隔件7。由边框6与面板框架3的平板部3a隔着间隔件7夹持液晶面板1。侧板部6b沿着面板框架3的侧板部3b。
图2是表示液晶面板1的构成的剖面图。液晶面板1具有液晶10、阵列基板11以及滤色基板12。液晶10封入至对置配置的阵列基板11以及滤色基板12之间。在液晶面板1的一面侧配置有滤色基板12,在另一面侧配置有阵列基板11。
阵列基板11是在液晶10侧的一面阵列状地形成有驱动元件(未图示)的玻璃基板。滤色基板12是用于图像的彩色显示的滤色器(未图示)在液晶10侧的一面形成图案的玻璃基板。在阵列基板11以及滤色基板12的另一面分别粘贴有相同形状的偏光膜13、14。
阵列基板11侧的偏光膜13将长尺寸方向设为偏光方向,滤色基板12侧的偏光膜14将短尺寸方向设为偏光方向。即,两张偏光膜13、14以偏光方向相互正交的方式对置配置。偏光膜13、14形成为在与偏光方向垂直的方向延伸。因此,偏光膜13、14在高温环境下以从延伸状态恢复至原状的方式收缩。
图3是显示装置100的长边的中央部的液晶面板1、面板框架3以及边框6的构造的说明图,图4是沿图1的IV-IV线的剖面图。在显示装置100的两条长边各自的中央部,面板框架3侧的间隔件5具有向边框6侧突出的凸部50,在边框6侧的间隔件7,与凸部50对置的部分设有比凸部50的等效长度长的缺口。即,边框6在间隔件7的缺口部分具有由平板部6a的一面以及间隔件7的端面形成的凹部60。
因此,在由边框6以及面板框架3夹住液晶面板1的情况下,在液晶面板1的两条长边分别施加图3的箭头所示的力。因此,在显示装置100,如图4所示,液晶面板1在一面侧弯曲呈凸状的状态下进行组装。需要说明的是,凸部50以及间隔件7的高度优选分别为0.5mm。实际的液晶面板1的弯曲的程度是微量的,图4只不过是示意性地表示弯曲的程度。
在如以上构成的显示装置100中,从各LED22射出的光通过漫射板25以及光学片4进行漫射以及会聚,并向液晶面板1的另一面照射。该光通过从阵列基板11侧的偏光膜13透射而变为仅在该偏光膜13的长尺寸方向振动的光。液晶面板1通过液晶10的液晶使光的振动方向变化,调整滤色基板12侧的偏光膜14的光的透射率,由此在一面显示图像。
在显示装置100的使用过程中温度上升的情况下,偏光膜13、14以从延伸状态恢复至原状的方式在与偏光方向垂直的方向收缩。因此,伴随着偏光膜13的收缩,滤色基板12侧的偏光膜14在长尺寸方向收缩,阵列基板11侧的偏光膜13在短尺寸方向收缩。
长尺寸方向上的收缩在液晶面板1的影响较强,液晶面板1的另一面侧欲弯曲呈凸状。但是,在显示装置100,液晶面板1在一面侧弯曲呈凸状的状态下进行组装,因此另一面侧不弯曲呈凸状,会防止液晶面板1向光学片4的接触。
因此,能抑制光学片4被液晶面板1以及漫射板25夹住,在光学片4产生褶皱、变形等而产生显示缺陷。在此,由于液晶面板1的弯曲是如上述那样微量的,因此由该弯曲引起的显示品质的降低轻微到可以无视的程度。
此外,通过设置凹部60,抑制由矫正因液晶面板1的偏光膜13、14的收缩导致的弯曲所引起的显示缺陷。而且,由于在显示装置100的两条长边分别设置有凸部50以及凹部60,因此能稳定地使液晶面板1弯曲。
需要说明的是,可以不形成凹部60,而仅在间隔件5形成凸部50。即使仅有凸部50,液晶面板1也会因液晶面板1自身的重量而一面侧弯曲呈凸状。
此外,在以上的实施方式中,液晶面板1为矩形,但只要是一个方向的尺寸比与该一个方向正交的另一个方向的尺寸大的形状,则也可以是椭圆或其他的形状。而且,凹部60也可以不由边框6以及间隔件7形成,而是直接形成于边框6。此外,阵列基板11的驱动元件以及滤色基板12的滤色器也可以不形成于玻璃基板,而是形成于具有透光性的树脂制的基板。
而且,也可以在滤色基板12侧,即液晶面板1的一面侧配置将长尺寸方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜13,在阵列基板11侧配置将短尺寸方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜14。此时,在面板框架3的平板部3a的另一面形成凹部,在边框6的平板部6a的一面形成凸部,预先使液晶面板1在另一面侧弯曲,由此,能防止由液晶面板1的弯曲引起的向边框6施加意外的负载的情况。由此,显示装置100能抑制显示缺陷。
应该想到本次公开的实施方式在所有方面均为例示而不进行限定。本发明的范围不是上述的含义,而是由权利要求书表示的,其意图在于包含在与权利要求书等同的含义以及范围内的所有变更。即,将在权利要求所示的范围内进行了适当变更的技术手段组合得到的实施方式也包括在本发明的技术范围内。

Claims (3)

1.一种显示装置,其特征在于,具备:
液晶面板,一个方向的尺寸比与该一个方向正交的另一个方向的尺寸长,具有以所述一个方向或另一个方向为偏光方向而偏光方向相互正交并且隔着透光性的基板对置的两张偏光膜,使将所述另一个方向设为偏光方向的偏光膜的一侧弯曲呈凸状,在一面显示图像;
漫射板,配置于该液晶面板的另一面侧;以及
光学片,配置于所述液晶面板以及漫射板之间。
2.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其特征在于,
液晶面板呈矩形,
将所述液晶面板的短尺寸方向设为偏光方向的所述偏光膜配置于所述液晶面板的所述一面侧,
所述液晶面板具备:
边框,呈矩形框状,覆盖所述液晶面板的一面的周缘部,在所述液晶面板侧的长边的中央部设有凹部;以及
面板框架,呈矩形框状,在长边的中央部设有凸部,从所述另一面侧支承所述液晶面板。
3.一种显示装置,其特征在于,
所述凸部分别设置于所述面板框架的两条长边,
所述凹部分别设置于所述边框的两条长边。
