Specifically, the timing control circuit in the display panel can reversely detect and judge whether the front end signal is an abnormal signal through the DP and EDP protocols, and output a corresponding feedback signal when the signal sent by the front end system is abnormal, and under a normal condition, the DP signal sent by the main board system should be a continuous pulse signal with consistent frequency; when the DP signal sent by the motherboard system is abnormal, i.e. the DP signal is discontinuous as shown in fig. 3a, or the DP signal is changed in frequency as shown in fig. 3b, the timing control circuit detects that the front-end system signal is abnormal, and the output feedback signal FS changes from low level to high level. The signal connected to the first reference signal terminal Vref1 is a ground level signal GND, and the signal connected to the second reference signal terminal Vref2 is a high level signal VDD. In addition, the timing control circuit of the display panel applied to products of DP and EDP interfaces is integrated in a timing control chip TCON IC, and the chip has a plurality of open pins (GPIO) which can be used as feedback signal output pins for detecting the result of the DP signal at the front end. As shown in fig. 4, floating GPIO4 can be used as an output pin of the feedback signal FS, and the connection and functions of the remaining pins on the chip are the same as those of the prior art, and will not be described in detail herein.
The following describes in detail the operation of the display control circuit provided in the embodiment of the present invention with reference to the structure of the display control circuit provided in the embodiment of the present invention as shown in fig. 2 and the operation timing of the display control circuit as shown in fig. 5. In the following description, a high level signal is denoted by 1, a low level signal is denoted by 0, and the first to third switching transistors are N-type transistors.
In a normal condition, that is, when the image signal sent by the front-end system is normal, the feedback signal FS output by the timing control circuit is a low-level signal, that is, FS is 0, so that the first switching transistor T1 is turned off; the gate S1 of the second switching transistor T2 is connected to the signal VDD of the second reference signal terminal Vref2, and the second switching transistor T2 is turned on because VDD is equal to 1; the turned-on second switching transistor T2 outputs the signal GND of the first reference signal terminal Vref1 to the output terminal Bist and the gate of the third switching transistor T3, and since GND is 0, the third switching transistor T3 is turned off. In addition, when the timing control circuit works, the signal of the Reset terminal Reset is in a high level, and if the signal of the Reset terminal Reset is pulled low, the timing control circuit is restarted. When the image signal sent by the front-end system is normal, the third switching transistor T3 is turned off, the Reset terminal Reset is connected to the signal VDD of the second reference signal terminal Vref2, and no external signal acts on the Reset terminal Reset of the timing control circuit because VDD is 1, so that the timing control circuit does not perform a restart operation. In addition, since the output terminal Bist outputs the signal GND of the first reference signal terminal Vref1, the switching signal input to the timing control circuit is at a low level, and the display panel maintains the current display mode and does not enter the still picture display mode.
In an abnormal situation, that is, when the image signal transmitted by the front-end system is abnormal, the feedback signal FS output by the timing control circuit becomes a high-level signal, that is, FS is 1, so that the first switching transistor T1 is turned on; the turned-on first switching transistor T1 outputs the signal GND of the first reference signal terminal Vref1 to the gate S1 of the second switching transistor T2, and since GND is 0, the second switching transistor T2 is turned off; at this time, the output terminal Bist and the gate of the third switching transistor T3 are connected to the signal VDD of the second reference signal terminal Vref2, and since VDD is 1, the switching signal input to the timing control circuit through the output terminal Bist is a high level signal, and the timing control circuit controls the display panel to enter a still picture display mode, so as to display the display picture of the previous frame and avoid displaying an abnormal picture; since the gate of the third switching transistor T3 is connected to the signal VDD of the second reference signal terminal Vref2, the third switching transistor is turned on, the turned-on third switching transistor T3 outputs the feedback signal FS to the Reset terminal Reset of the timing control circuit, and since FS is equal to 1 at this time, the signal input to the Reset terminal Reset of the timing control circuit is a high level signal, and the timing control circuit does not perform a restart operation.
When the abnormality is over, that is, when the image signal sent by the front-end system returns to normal, the feedback signal FS becomes low, but due to the delay effect of the switching transistors, when the feedback signal FS changes from high to low, the first switching transistor T1 slowly enters the off state, the potential of the gate S1 of the second switching transistor T2 does not immediately rise to VDD, the second switching transistor T2 is still turned off for a short time, at this time, the third switching transistor T3 is still in the on state, the turned-on third switching transistor T3 outputs the feedback signal FS to the Reset terminal Reset of the timing control circuit, and since FS is 0 at this time, the timing control circuit performs a restart operation. Subsequently, the first switching transistor T1 is completely turned off under the control of the feedback signal FS, the gate potential of the second switching transistor T2 is also pulled high and turned on, and further, the potentials of the output terminal Bist and the gate of the third switching transistor T3 are pulled low, and the signal of the Reset terminal Reset of the timing control circuit is pulled high again; and the switching signal input to the time sequence control circuit through the output end Bist is also changed into a low level signal, the time sequence control circuit controls the display panel to exit from the static picture display mode, the time sequence control circuit finishes the restarting operation, and the display panel restores to the normal display mode.
In addition, the display control circuit provided by the embodiment of the present invention may perform a simulation experiment through the built simulation circuit, where a connection relationship between each device in the specific simulation circuit is shown in fig. 6, and a connection relationship between each device is shown in fig. 6, and therefore, details are not described here. The simulation circuit can realize the function of the display control circuit provided by the embodiment of the invention, the simulation result is shown in fig. 7, and comparing fig. 5 and fig. 7, it can be seen that the simulation result of the simulation circuit is consistent with the working timing sequence of the display control circuit provided by the embodiment of the invention, so that the display control circuit provided by the embodiment of the invention can realize automatic switching of the display mode of the display panel when the signal of the front-end system is abnormal, and the display panel is prevented from displaying abnormal pictures due to the signal abnormality of the front-end system.
