技术领域
本发明涉及平板显示装置技术领域,特别涉及一种AMOLED像素单元及其驱动方法、AMOLED显示装置。
背景技术
近年来,已经开发出相比阴极射线管来说重量轻且体积小的各种类型的平板显示装置。在各种类型的平板显示装置中,由于有源矩阵有机发光显示装置(AMOLED)使用自发光的有机发光二极管(OLED)来显示图像,通常具有响应时间短,使用低功耗进行驱动,相对更好的亮度和颜色纯度的特性,所以有机发光显示装置已经成为下一代显示装置的焦点。
对于大型有源矩阵有机发光显示装置,包括位于扫描线和数据线的交叉区域的多个像素。每个像素包括有机发光二极管和用于驱动所述有机发光二极管的像素电路。像素电路通常包括开关晶体管,驱动晶体管和存储电容器。有源矩阵有机发光显示装置的像素的特性受到驱动晶体管之间的差异和开关晶体管的漏电流的不利因素的影响,因此通过这样的多个像素显示的图像的质量均匀性和一致性较差。
请参考图1,其为有源矩阵有机发光显示装置的传统像素的电路图。如图1所示,有源矩阵有机发光显示装置的传统像素10包括有机发光二极管(OLED)14,以及已经连接至数据线Dm和扫描控制线Sn以控制有机发光二级管(OLED)14的像素电路12。
具体的,像素电路12包括连接在第一电源ELVDD和有机发光二极管(OLED)14阳极之间的第二晶体管M2(即驱动晶体管)、连接在第二晶体管M2的栅极和数据线Dm之间的第一晶体管M1(即开关晶体管)以及连接在第二晶体管M2的栅极与第一电源ELVDD之间的电容器Cs,其中第一晶体管M1的栅极连接至扫描控制线Sn。有机发光二极管(OLED)14的阳极连接至像素电路12,并且有机发光二极管(OLED)14的阴极连接至第二电源ELVSS。有机发光二极管(OLED)14发出具有与像素电路12所提供的电流对应的亮度的光。
当向扫描控制线Sn提供扫描信号时,像素电路12对应于供给数据线Dm的数据信号来控制供给有机发光二极管(OLED)14的电流量。具体的,第一晶体管M1的栅极连接至扫描控制线Sn,并且第一晶体管M1的源极(或漏极)连接至数据线Dm,第一晶体管M1的漏极(或源极)连接至电容器Cs的一个端子。当从扫描控制线Sn向第一晶体管M1提供扫描控制信号时,第一晶体管M1导通,并且从数据线Dm供应的数据信号被供给电容器Cs。电容器Cs的一个端子连接至第二晶体管M2的栅极,并且电容器Cs的另一个端子连接至第一电源ELVDD。与数据信号对应的电压被充入到电容器Cs。此时,与数据信号对应的电压被存储到电容器Cs。
第二晶体管M2的栅极连接至电容器Cs的一个端子,并且第二晶体管M2的源极连接至第一电源ELVDD,第二晶体管M2的漏极连接至有机发光二极管(OLED)14的阳极。第二晶体管M2对从第一电源ELVDD通过有机发光二极管(OLED)14流到第二电源ELVSS的电流进行控制,该电流对应于存储在电容器Cs中的电压。
传统像素10通过对应于电容器Cs中所充入的电压向有机发光二极管(OLED)14供应电流来控制有机发光二极管(OLED)14的亮度,显示具有预定亮度的图像。然而,在这种传统的有源矩阵有机发光显示装置中,由于第二晶体管M2的阈值电压变化和第一晶体管M1的漏电流,很难显示具有均匀亮度的图像。
例如在不同像素中由于第二晶体管M2的阈值电压的差异,使得在加入相同的栅极驱动电压时流过有机发光二极管(OLED)的电流不一致,造成有机发光二极管(OLED)的亮度的不一致,各个像素响应同一数据信号,产生具有不同亮度的光,从而很难显示具有均匀亮度的图像。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种AMOLED像素单元及其驱动方法、AMOLED显示装置,以解决现有的AMOLED显示装置亮度不均匀的问题。
为解决上述技术问题,本发明提供一种AMOLED像素单元,所述AMOLED像素单元用于与第一扫描控制线、第二扫描控制线、第三扫描控制线及第四扫描控制线连接,所述AMOLED像素单元包括:像素电路及与所述像素电路连接的有机发光二级管;所述像素电路包括:电容器,与所述电容器的一个端子连接的初始化单元、数据写入单元及发光控制单元;其中,所述电容器的另一个端子连接至第一扫描控制线,所述初始化单元连接至第二扫描控制线,所述数据写入单元连接至第三扫描控制线及数据线,所述发光控制单元连接至第四扫描控制线。
可选的,在所述的AMOLED像素单元中,所述初始化单元包括第一晶体管及第七晶体管,所述第一晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第七晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第一晶体管的栅极及所述第七晶体管的栅极连接至第二扫描控制线。
可选的,在所述的AMOLED像素单元中,所述第一晶体管的漏极/源极连接至第三扫描控制线或者第一电源。
可选的,在所述的AMOLED像素单元中,所述数据写入单元包括第二晶体管、第三晶体管、第四晶体管及第八晶体管,所述第二晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第二晶体管的漏极/源极连接至数据线,所述第三晶体管的栅极与所述第四晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第四晶体管的漏极/源极与所述第八晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第四晶体管的栅极及所述第八晶体管的栅极连接至第三扫描控制线。
可选的,在所述的AMOLED像素单元中,所述发光控制单元包括第五晶体管、第三晶体管及第六晶体管,所述第五晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第五晶体管的漏极/源极连接至第一电源,所述第五晶体管的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线,所述第三晶体管的漏极/源极与所述第六晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第六晶体管的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线。
可选的,在所述的AMOLED像素单元中,所述有机发光二级管的阳极与所述第六晶体管的漏极/源极连接,所述有机发光二级管的阴极连接至第二电源,其中第一电源的电压高于第二电源的电压。
可选的,在所述的AMOLED像素单元中,所述第一晶体管、第二晶体管、第三晶体管、第四晶体管、第五晶体管、第六晶体管、第七晶体管及第八晶体管均为PMOS晶体管或者均为NMOS晶体管。
本发明还提供一种AMOLED像素单元的驱动方法,所述AMOLED像素单元的驱动方法包括:
初始化阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第一扫描控制线及第二扫描控制线,初始化单元导通,对第三晶体管的栅极初始化;
数据写入阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第三扫描控制线,数据写入单元导通,将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;
发光阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第四扫描控制线,发光控制单元导通,有机发光二级管发光。
可选的,在所述的AMOLED像素单元的驱动方法中,
初始化阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第一扫描控制线及第二扫描控制线,通过第一晶体管和第七晶体管,对第三晶体管的栅极初始化;
数据写入阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第三扫描控制线,通过第二晶体管、第三晶体管、第四晶体管及第八晶体管,将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;
发光阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第四扫描控制线,通过第五晶体管、第三晶体管及第六晶体管,有机发光二级管发光。
本发明还提供一种AMOLED显示装置,包括:多个如上所述的AMOLED像素单元,所述AMOLED显示装置还包括扫描驱动器及数据驱动器和多条数据线;多个AMOLED像素单元阵列排布,每个AMOLED像素单元通过第一扫描控制线、第二扫描控制线、第三扫描控制线及第四扫描控制线与所述扫描驱动器连接,每个AMOLED像素单元通过数据线与所述数据驱动器连接。在本发明提供的AMOLED像素单元及其驱动方法、AMOLED显示装置中,通过初始化单元对第三晶体管的栅极初始化;通过数据写入单元将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;通过发光控制单元实现有机发光二级管发光,由此避免了漏电流或者阈值电压的差异对电容器的影响,使得AMOLED显示装置亮度均匀。

具体实施方式
以下结合附图和具体实施例对本发明提出的AMOLED像素单元及其驱动方法、AMOLED显示装置作进一步详细说明。根据下面说明和权利要求书,本发明的优点和特征将更清楚。需说明的是,附图均采用非常简化的形式且均使用非精准的比例,仅用以方便、明晰地辅助说明本发明实施例的目的。
请参考图2,其为本发明一实施例的AMOLED像素单元的电路图。如图2所示,所述AMOLED像素单元20与扫描控制线连接,所述扫描控制线包括第一扫描控制线Sn1、第二扫描控制线Sn2、第三扫描控制线Sn3及第四扫描控制线Sn4,所述AMOLED像素单元20包括:像素电路22及与所述像素电路22连接的有机发光二级管(OLED)24;所述像素电路22包括:电容器Cs,与所述电容器Cs的一个端子连接的初始化单元、数据写入单元及发光控制单元;其中,所述电容器Cs的另一个端子连接至第一扫描控制线Sn1,所述初始化单元连接至第二扫描控制线Sn2,所述数据写入单元连接至第三扫描控制线Sn3及数据线Dm,所述发光控制单元连接至第四扫描控制线Sn4。
具体的,所述初始化单元包括第一晶体管M1及第七晶体管M7,所述第一晶体管M1的源极/漏极与所述第七晶体管M7的源极/漏极连接(即所述第一晶体管M1和所述第七晶体管M7串联),所述第一晶体管M1的栅极及所述第七晶体管M7的栅极连接至第二扫描控制线Sn2。在本申请实施例中,所述第一晶体管M1的漏极/源极连接至第三扫描控制线Sn4,在本申请的另一实施例中,所述第一晶体管M1的漏极/源极也可以连接至第一电源ELVDD,例如图3中所示。
所述数据写入单元包括第二晶体管M2、第三晶体管M3、第四晶体管M4及第八晶体管M8,所述第二晶体管M2的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管M3的源极/漏极连接,所述第二晶体管M2的漏极/源极连接至数据线Dm,所述第三晶体管M3的栅极与所述第四晶体管M4的源极/漏极连接,所述第四晶体管M4的漏极/源极与所述第八晶体管M8的源极/漏极连接(即所述第四晶体管M4和所述第八晶体管M8串联),所述第四晶体管M4的栅极及所述第八晶体管M8的栅极连接至第三扫描控制线Sn3。
所述发光控制单元包括第五晶体管M5、第三晶体管M3及第六晶体管M6,所述第五晶体管M5的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管M3的源极/漏极连接,所述第五晶体管M5的漏极/源极连接至第一电源ELVDD,所述第五晶体管M5的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线Sn4,所述第三晶体管M3的漏极/源极与所述第六晶体管M6的源极/漏极连接,所述第六晶体管M6的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线Sn4。
为了便于描述所述像素电路22中一些节点的电位变化,将电容器Cs与第三晶体管M3、第四晶体管M4以及第七晶体管M7之间的连接点设为节点N1;将第二晶体管M2、第三晶体管M3以及第五晶体管M5之间的连接点设为节点N2;将第三晶体管M3、第六晶体管M6以及第八晶体管M8之间的连接点设为节点N3;将电容器Cs与第一扫描控制线Sn1之间的一连接点作为节点N4。
在本申请实施例中,所述有机发光二级管24的阳极与所述第六晶体管M6的漏极/源极连接,所述有机发光二级管24的阴极连接至第二电源ELVSS,其中第一电源ELVDD的电压高于第二电源ELVSS的电压。
在本申请实施例中,所述第一晶体管M1、第二晶体管M2、第三晶体管M3、第四晶体管M4、第五晶体管M5、第六晶体管M6、第七晶体管M7及第八晶体管M8均为PMOS晶体管或者均为NMOS晶体管。
接下去,将以所述第一晶体管M1、第二晶体管M2、第三晶体管M3、第四晶体管M4、第五晶体管M5、第六晶体管M6、第七晶体管M7及第八晶体管M8均为PMOS晶体管为例,叙述AMOLED像素单元20的工作状态。
在本申请实施例中,所述AMOLED像素单元20的驱动方法包括:
初始化阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第一扫描控制线及第二扫描控制线,初始化单元导通,对第三晶体管的栅极初始化;
数据写入阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第三扫描控制线,数据写入单元导通,将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;
发光阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第四扫描控制线,发光控制单元导通,有机发光二级管发光。
具体的,请结合图4和图2,其中,图4为本发明实施例的AMOLED像素单元的驱动信号时序图,在此仅示出了一帧期间的驱动信号。
具体的,在设置为初始化阶段的第一时间段t1期间,首先第一扫描控制线Sn1、第三扫描控制线Sn3、第四扫描控制线Sn4接入高电平信号,第二扫描控制线Sn2接入低电平信号;接着第二扫描控制线Sn2接入信号跳变为高电平信号,第一扫描控制线Sn1接入信号跳为低电平信号。因此,通过第一扫描控制线Sn1接入信号由低电位跳变为高电位时,节点N1电位拉高,节点N4电位变为高电位;第一晶体管M1和第七晶体管M7通过第二扫描控制线Sn2接入低电平而导通,将第四扫描控制线Sn4接入的高电平信号提供给节点N1;接着第二扫描控制线Sn2接入信号变为高电平,第一晶体管M1和第七晶体管M7关断;第一扫描控制线Sn1接入信号由高电位跳变为低电位时,利用电容器两端电压差瞬时不能跳变原理,节点N1电位由高电位被拉低。
在第一时间段t1期间,可通过第一晶体管M1和第七晶体管M7将节点N1电位拉高,利用电容器Cs耦合,再将节点N1电位拉低,从而在每一帧中第一节点N1可被恒定地复位。
接着,在设置为数据写入阶段的第二时间段t2期间,将第三扫描控制线Sn3接入低电平信号。由此,第二晶体管M2、第四晶体管M4和第八晶体管M8响应第三扫描控制线Sn3的低电平信号而导通。通过第八晶体管M8和第四晶体管M4而使第三晶体管M3导通(在此,第三晶体管M3相当于一个二极管)。由于第一节点N1在第一时间段t1期间被初始化,所以第三晶体管M3作为二极管被正向连接。
因此,经第二晶体管M2、第八晶体管M8和第四晶体管M4将提供给数据线Dm的数据信号Vm提供给第二节点N2。此时,由于第三晶体管M3被作为二极管连接,所以与数据信号Vm和第三晶体管M3的阈值电压之间的差值相应的电压被提供给第一节点N1。提供给第二节点N2的电压对电容器CS充电。
接着,在设置为发光阶段的第三时间段t3期间,第四扫描控制线Sn4接入信号由高电平跃迁到低电平。由此,第五晶体管M5和第六晶体管M6通过第四扫描控制线Sn4的接入信号而导通。因此,驱动电流沿第一电源ELVDD经第五晶体管M5、第三晶体管M3、第六晶体管M6和有机发光二极管(OLED)24的路径流到第二电源ELVSS。即有机发光二极管(OLED)24发光。
这里,第三晶体管M3响应于提供给第三晶体管M3的阈值电压相应的电压存储在电容器Cs中,所以在第二时间段t2期间对于第三晶体管M3的阈值电压进行了补偿。同时,在第三时间段t3期间,第一晶体管M1接入第三扫描控制线Sn3输出的高电位(对于图3中的AMOLED像素单元而言,第一晶体管M1接入第一电源ELVDD,可选的,第一晶体管M1还可以接入其他的高电位信号),由于,在第三时间段t3期间,连接N1节点的电路主要有两条漏电支路,一条通过第一晶体管M1、第七晶体管M7晶体管,另一条通过第四晶体管M4、第八晶体管M8,而通过第一晶体管M1(第一晶体管M1作为开关晶体管)的源极连接到一个高电位,由此可以降低N1节点的漏电流。此外,在将高电平扫描控制信号提供给第四扫描控制线Sn4的时间段,即第一时间段t1和第二时间段t2期间,第六晶体管M6截止,从而可防止驱动电流被提供给有机发光二极管(OLED)24。
综上可见,通过初始化单元对驱动晶体管的栅极(即第三晶体管的栅极)初始化;通过数据写入单元将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;通过发光控制单元实现有机发光二级管发光,由此避免了漏电流或者阈值电压的差异对电容器的影响,从而能够使得AMOLED显示装置亮度均匀。
相应的,本实施例还提供一种AMOLED显示装置。具体的,请参考图5,其为本发明实施例的AMOLED显示装置的框结构示意图。如图5所示,所述AMOLED显示装置包括:多个如上所述的AMOLED像素单元20,扫描驱动器30及数据驱动器40;多个AMOLED像素单元20阵列排布,每个AMOLED像素单元20通过第一扫描控制线、第二扫描控制线、第三扫描控制线及第四扫描控制线(S01、S02、S03、S04、S11、S12、S13、S14……Sn1、Sn2、Sn3、Sn4)与所述扫描驱动器30连接,每个AMOLED像素单元20通过数据线(D1、D2……Dm)与所述数据驱动器40连接。
其中,扫描驱动器30产生与外部提供(例如,从定时控制单元提供)的扫描控制信号相应的扫描控制信号。将由扫描控制器30产生的扫描控制信号分别通过第一扫描控制线、第二扫描控制线、第三扫描控制线及第四扫描控制线顺序地提供给AMOLED像素单元20。
数据驱动器40产生与外部提供(例如,从定时控制单元提供)的数据控制信号相应的数据信号。将由数据驱动器40产生的数据信号通过数据线D1至Dm与扫描控制信号同步地提供给AMOLED像素单元20。
每个AMOLED像素单元20通过初始化单元对第三晶体管的栅极初始化;通过数据写入单元将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;通过发光控制单元实现有机发光二级管发光,由此避免了漏电流或者阈值电压的差异对电容器的影响,从而可以最终使得AMOLED显示装置亮度均匀。

Claims (9)

1.一种AMOLED像素单元,所述AMOLED像素单元用于与第一扫描控制线、第二扫描控制线、第三扫描控制线及第四扫描控制线连接,其特征在于,所述AMOLED像素单元包括:像素电路及与所述像素电路连接的有机发光二级管;所述像素电路包括:电容器,与所述电容器的一个端子连接的初始化单元、数据写入单元及发光控制单元;所述电容器的另一个端子连接至第一扫描控制线,所述初始化单元连接至第二扫描控制线,所述数据写入单元连接至第三扫描控制线及数据线,所述发光控制单元连接至第四扫描控制线;
其中,所述初始化单元包括第一晶体管及第七晶体管,所述第一晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第七晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第一晶体管的栅极及所述第七晶体管的栅极连接至第二扫描控制线。
2.如权利要求1所述的AMOLED像素单元,其特征在于,所述第一晶体管的漏极/源极连接至第三扫描控制线或者第一电源。
3.如权利要求1所述的AMOLED像素单元,其特征在于,所述数据写入单元包括第二晶体管、第三晶体管、第四晶体管及第八晶体管,所述第二晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第二晶体管的漏极/源极连接至数据线,所述第三晶体管的栅极与所述第四晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第四晶体管的漏极/源极与所述第八晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第四晶体管的栅极及所述第八晶体管的栅极连接至第三扫描控制线。
4.如权利要求3所述的AMOLED像素单元,其特征在于,所述发光控制单元包括第五晶体管、第三晶体管及第六晶体管,所述第五晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第五晶体管的漏极/源极连接至第一电源,所述第五晶体管的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线,所述第三晶体管的漏极/源极与所述第六晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第六晶体管的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线。
5.如权利要求4所述的AMOLED像素单元,其特征在于,所述有机发光二级管的阳极与所述第六晶体管的漏极/源极连接,所述有机发光二级管的阴极连接至第二电源,其中第一电源的电压高于第二电源的电压。
6.如权利要求5所述的AMOLED像素单元,其特征在于,所述第一晶体管、第二晶体管、第三晶体管、第四晶体管、第五晶体管、第六晶体管、第七晶体管及第八晶体管均为PMOS晶体管或者均为NMOS晶体管。
7.一种AMOLED像素单元的驱动方法,其特征在于,所述AMOLED像素单元包括:像素电路及与所述像素电路连接的有机发光二级管;所述像素电路包括:电容器,与所述电容器的一个端子连接的初始化单元、数据写入单元及发光控制单元;所述电容器的另一个端子连接至第一扫描控制线,所述初始化单元连接至第二扫描控制线,所述数据写入单元连接至第三扫描控制线及数据线,所述发光控制单元连接至第四扫描控制线;其中,所述初始化单元包括第一晶体管及第七晶体管,所述第一晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第七晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第一晶体管的栅极及所述第七晶体管的栅极连接至第二扫描控制线,所述第七晶体管的漏极/源极与第三晶体管的栅极连接,所述AMOLED像素单元的驱动方法包括:
初始化阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第一扫描控制线及第二扫描控制线,初始化单元导通,通过第一晶体管和第七晶体管,对第三晶体管的栅极初始化;
数据写入阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第三扫描控制线,数据写入单元导通,将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;
发光阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第四扫描控制线,发光控制单元导通,有机发光二级管发光。
8.如权利要求7所述的AMOLED像素单元的驱动方法,其特征在于,所述数据写入单元包括第二晶体管、第三晶体管、第四晶体管及第八晶体管,所述第二晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第二晶体管的漏极/源极连接至数据线,所述第三晶体管的栅极与所述第四晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第四晶体管的漏极/源极与所述第八晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第四晶体管的栅极及所述第八晶体管的栅极连接至第三扫描控制线;所述发光控制单元包括第五晶体管、第三晶体管及第六晶体管,所述第五晶体管的源极/漏极与所述第三晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第五晶体管的漏极/源极连接至第一电源,所述第五晶体管的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线,所述第三晶体管的漏极/源极与所述第六晶体管的源极/漏极连接,所述第六晶体管的栅极连接至第四扫描控制线;
数据写入阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第三扫描控制线,通过第二晶体管、第三晶体管、第四晶体管及第八晶体管,将数据信号对应的电压存储至电容器;
发光阶段:扫描控制信号提供给第四扫描控制线,通过第五晶体管、第三晶体管及第六晶体管,有机发光二级管发光。
9.一种AMOLED显示装置,其特征在于,包括:多个如权利要求1~6中任一项所述的AMOLED像素单元,所述AMOLED显示装置还包括扫描驱动器及数据驱动器和多条数据线;多个AMOLED像素单元阵列排布,每个AMOLED像素单元通过第一扫描控制线、第二扫描控制线、第三扫描控制线及第四扫描控制线与所述扫描驱动器连接,每个AMOLED像素单元通过数据线与所述数据驱动器连接。
