Description

Wiper, container comprising such a wiper and applicator assembly comprising such a container
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a wiper for a cosmetic product container, a container comprising the wiper and an applicator assembly comprising the container.
Background
Applicators for cosmetic products, in particular cosmetic products such as mascara applied to the eyelashes, comprising a container containing the cosmetic product and an applicator subassembly which can be detachably secured to the container are known. The container generally comprises a body having a wall delimiting a chamber containing the cosmetic product and a collar (collar) defining an opening through which the cosmetic product can be removed, the collar comprising a neck portion.
The applicator subassembly generally includes: a cap capable of being secured to the neck, a stem extending from the cap, and an applicator secured at a free end of the stem. The applicator includes a core and a plurality of protrusions or bristles extending from the core. When the cap is secured to the neck, the stem and applicator extend within the container. The applicator is immersed in the cosmetic product contained in the container.
To use the applicator, the user detaches the cap from the neck and removes the applicator from the container.
To prevent the applicator from being loaded with too much cosmetic product, the container typically includes a wiper secured within the neck. As the user moves the applicator out of the container, the applicator and the rod slide within the wiper. The wiper scrapes off excess cosmetic on the rod and on the applicator. The wiper can thus control the amount of cosmetic on the applicator and prevent excess cosmetic from being applied to the eyelashes.
The known applicator assemblies have the disadvantage that only a part of the cosmetic product they contain can be recycled. This is because, when the user removes the applicator subassembly from the container, some of the cosmetic product on the rod and on the applicator sticks within the container under the collar portion of the container. It should be noted that the cosmetic accumulates at this point and is therefore difficult to obtain by the user. This is therefore a loss.
Disclosure of Invention
One problem addressed by the present invention is to enhance the cosmetic product recovery capabilities of an applicator assembly.
Accordingly, the present invention relates to a wiper for a cosmetic product container comprising a body forming a chamber for containing a cosmetic product.
According to the invention, the wiper comprises:

Detailed Description
As shown in fig. 1 to 6 and 10, the present invention relates to a wiper 10 for a cosmetic container 20.
Fig. 1 and 2 show a first embodiment of the wiper 10, while fig. 3 to 6 show a second embodiment.
The wiper 10 shown in both embodiments may be secured to the body 22 of the container 20 by a securing portion 12. The body forms a chamber 24, and a second portion of the wiper 10 (hereinafter referred to as the flexible portion 14) extends within the chamber 24. The chamber 24 is intended to contain a substantially viscous cosmetic product, in particular mascara.
According to the invention, the flexible portion 14 of the wiper 10 is designed to prevent the cosmetic product from coming into contact with the shoulder 25 of the body 22.
In the example shown in fig. 1 and 2, the flexible portion 14 is integral with the fixed portion 12. More specifically, the flexible portion 14 is a bellows (bellows)15, the bellows 15 having a free end opposite the fixed portion 12. The free end has wiping apertures 16 and is advantageously in the form of a branched material extending transversely to the main axis of the wiper 10.
The main axis of the wiper is indicated hereinafter with reference Y; preferably, said main axis is combined with a main direction of longitudinal extension of said wiper 10.
Advantageously, the material branch is in the form of a washer 17 movable with respect to the body 22 (in particular along the main axis Y). This movability is illustrated in fig. 1 and 2 by the bellows 15 being shown in a relaxed state in fig. 1 and the bellows 15 being subjected to pressure in fig. 2. By "subjected to a pressure action" is meant the action of an external force applied along the main axis Y from said free end towards the fixed portion 12 of the wiper 10.
When subjected to pressure, bellows 10 is compressed, bringing cleaner 17 closer to shoulder 25 and at the same time preventing the cosmetic contained in chamber 24 from coming into contact with said shoulder. This corresponds in particular to the removal of the applicator from the container 20, which applicator is wiped at the level of the wiping orifice 16.
A second embodiment is now set forth based specifically on fig. 3 to 6. In the second embodiment, the flexible portion 14 is in the form of a plurality of petals 13, the petals 13 being separated by a plurality of slots 18 throughout all or part of the flexible portion 14. In this case, the flexible portion 14 may be integral with the fixed portion 12, or may also be attached to the fixed portion 12. Advantageously, therefore, these petals can be clamped onto the fixation portion 12, attached to the fixation portion 12 or over-molded (over-molded) onto the fixation portion 12.
This design of the flap 13 extending between the two slots 18 has the advantage that: it is easier to assemble the wiper 10 to the cosmetic container 20. In fact, as shown in fig. 5, it is possible to easily bring the petals 13 close to each other (in particular around the main axis Y of the wiper 10), so as to form a pack with small radial dimensions. The components, which have small dimensions, can slide inside the body 22 of the container 20 without difficulty. It should be noted that the petals 13 can overlap one another so as to slide within the body 22 of the container 20 without difficulty.
Once inside the chamber 24, the petals 13 are deployed, as shown in figure 6. The free ends of the petals 13 thus extend radially in the direction of the body 22, in particular so that they brush over the body 22 or touch the body 22. This is possible because the inherent elasticity of the petals 13 allows them to bend under a small radial pressure (applied, for example, transversely to the main axis Y), and also allows them to spread apart without the aid of external forces (in particular when no pressure is applied on them).
Once deployed within the chamber 24 of the body 22, the petals 13 are oriented along the main axis Y in a direction opposite the shoulder 25. Thus, the flap 13 prevents the cosmetic product from coming into contact with the shoulder 25. In other words, the petals 13 form a dome once deployed within the chamber 24. More specifically, the lobes 13 are oriented along a direction that is angled from 0 ° to 90 ° with respect to the axes X, Y. Furthermore, each petal 13 is curved, with the concave portion of the petal 13 being oriented towards the chamber 24 (the convex portion being oriented towards the shoulder 25). This dome shape improves the recovery rate, since it delimits a portion of the inner wall of the chamber 24, said portion being inclined with respect to the axis X, Y. This inclination makes it easier to retrieve mascara using the applicator.
The wiping orifice is in this embodiment indicated with reference numeral 19. The wiping orifice is located at the boundary between the fixed portion 12 and the flexible portion 14.
It should be noted that in any embodiment contemplated, the wiper 10 is a plastic component. Advantageously, wiper 10 is obtained by moulding, for example by moulding a material based on low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Other materials, namely "Exact" from ExxonMobil or "Hailui" from Dupont, or mixtures of these materials, may also be used.
It should also be noted that in any embodiment envisaged, the fixed portion 12 is rigid. By "rigid" it is meant that the portion has sufficient rigidity to ensure that the wiper 10 is retained in the body 22 of the container 20 and to ensure a seal between said container 20 and the outside. Advantageously, the rigid portion 12 is free of seams (split). In this case, it has a cylindrical design.
Additionally, the fixing portion 12 is fitted to the body 22 of the container 20 in the region of the collar portion 23. The neck ring portion 23 is shown in fig. 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8.
As can also be seen in fig. 1, 2, 5 to 8 and 10, the body 22 of the container 20 extends along a main direction of longitudinal extension, referred to as main axis and indicated by the reference X. The main axis Y of the wiper 10 corresponds to the main axis X after the wiper has been fitted in the region of the neck ring portion 23.
More specifically, said neck ring portion 23 comprises a neck 27 and a shoulder 25, from which shoulder 25 the flexible portion 14 of the wiper 10 extends inside the chamber 24 of the container 20. The fixed portion 12 is actually fixed within the neck 27. Advantageously, this fixing is produced by fitting (formfitting). More specifically, the fixing portion 12 has a bead of material acting as a stop to hold the wiper 10 in place after the fixing portion is fitted into the neck 27.
The body 22 also has side walls 26 (see fig. 2 and 6) and a bottom 28 (see fig. 7). The chamber 24 is defined within the space bounded by the shoulder 25, the side wall 26 and the bottom 28. The base portion 28 is opposite the neck ring portion 27 along the major axis X, Y, and the sidewall 26 extends between the neck ring portion 27 and the base portion 28. As can be seen in particular in fig. 2 and 6, said shoulder 25 defines a boundary between the neck 27 and said side wall 26.
Thus, flexible portion 14 as described above extends along main axes X, Y within chamber 24 towards bottom 28.
A size ratio enables the maximum amount of cosmetic product to be retrieved from the container 20. This dimensional ratio is given by way of non-limiting example and is in particular given in the first embodiment shown in fig. 1 and 2, in which the flexible portion 14 is a bellows 15. This is not the second embodiment or any other embodiment not set forth herein within the scope of the present invention.
The dimensional ratio is the ratio between the height H of the container 20, measured along the main axes X, Y between the base 28 and the free end of the collar portion 27, and the height H of the wiper 10, measured along the main axes X, Y also when the bellows 15 is in the relaxed state. The ratios are shown in FIG. 10; it follows the following formula:
0.25≤h/H≤0.45。
by way of example, the height H of the container 20 is about 100mm and preferably substantially equal to 105mm, and the height H is about 40mm, preferably substantially equal to 39 mm.
In order to recover the maximum quantity of cosmetic product from the container 20, it is also advantageous to provide the washer 17 with a shape complementary to the internal section of the chamber 24. The cross-section may be invariant along the main axis X, Y; for example, the cross-section may be circular, but is not limited thereto. The cross-section may also vary along the main axis X, Y, so that the washer has a ramp-like edge, without departing from the scope of the invention.
Advantageously, the peripheral dimensions of the washer 17 are at most equal to the dimensions of the internal section of the chamber 27 so as to brush over the internal wall 26 and thus ensure that the cosmetic product does not come into contact with the shoulder 25, or that it is scraped towards the bottom 28 of the container 10 as a result of the bellows 15 returning to its rest position.
In fact, the inherent elasticity of said bellows 15 allows the latter to be compressed under a small axial pressure (applied, for example, along the main axes X, Y towards the neck ring 23) and to return to the initial rest position without the aid of external forces.
Thus, the wiper 10, thanks to its bellows 15, is able to push the cosmetic product that may adhere to the side wall 26 towards the bottom 28 of the body 22.
Additionally, after filling, the space having the height h2 will leave a blank space (free) between the mascara 40 contained in the chamber 24 and the washer 17 (see fig. 10).
For example, the mascara 40 may occupy a space having a height h3 of about 60mm, while the height h2 of the empty space is about 6 mm.
The applicator subassembly is for securing to a container 20 from the present invention.
The applicator subassembly can be secured to the container 20 as follows: at least a portion of the applicator subassembly is housed within the container 20. An example of the applicator subassembly is shown in fig. 9.
In fig. 9, the applicator subassembly includes: a cap 34 that can be secured to the neck 27, a stem 33 extending from the cap 34, and an applicator 32 secured to the free end of the stem 33. The applicator 32 includes a core and a plurality of protrusions or bristles extending from the core. As will be appreciated, mascara loaded by the applicator is wiped by the wiper as the subassembly travels through the wiper.
It should be noted that the above described embodiment enables the recovery of a large quantity of cosmetic product when the subassembly comprises an applicator 32, said applicator 32 having a partially curved stem 33 (see fig. 9) or a partially curved core (see fig. 7 and 8).
In both cases, in fact, the applicator 32 is liable to come into contact with the cosmetic product close to the bottom 28 of the container 20, and in particular close to the connection between said bottom 28 and said side wall 26.
It should be noted that various modifications are of course possible. In particular, the curved cores shown in fig. 7 and 8 can be used with any type of wiper 10, even if these wipers 10 do not have a flexible portion 14. In fact, the curvature formed by the core is able to scrape any cosmetic product under the shoulder 25. It is preferred, however, to combine the action of the applicator 32 with a curved wick and the wiper of the present invention, particularly the wiper of the first embodiment.
When the wiper 10 of the first embodiment is used in conjunction with an applicator 32 having a curved wick, the recovery of the cosmetic product is optimal (e.g., near 67%). In other words, 67% of the mascara 40 contained in the chamber 24 of the container 20 can be removed from said container 20 when the container comprises the wiper 10 of the present invention and the wiper is used in combination with the applicator 32 with a curved core or with the applicator 32 with a curved rod 33.
Furthermore, the wiper 10 of the first embodiment has the advantage of reducing the amount of parasitic air (parasiticir) in the chamber 24 of the container 20 and, therefore, any suction effect that is present when the applicator subassembly is manipulated relative to the container 20, in particular when the applicator 32 is removed from said container 20 or the applicator 20 is reinserted into the container 20.
