技术领域:
本发明涉及润滑油组合物。更具体而言,本发明涉及用于改进润滑性能的包括含钛化合物的润滑油组合物。
发明背景和发明简述
用于润滑内燃机的润滑油组合物包含具有润滑粘度的基础油或这种油的混合物,和用于改善油品工作特性的添加剂。例如,添加剂被用于改善清洁性、减少发动机磨损、提供热稳定性和氧化稳定性、降低油耗、抑制腐蚀、作为分散剂并减少摩擦损失。一些添加剂可以提供多种好处,例如分散剂一粘度改进剂。其它添加剂在改善润滑油的一种特性的时候,对其它特性有副作用。因此,为了赋予润滑油最佳的综合性能,有必要表征和理解各种可用添加剂的全部作用,并仔细地平衡润滑油的添加剂含量。
在许多专利和文章中(例如美国专利号4,164,473;4,176,073;4,176,074;4,192,757;4,248,720;4,201,683;4,289,635;和4,479,883)已经提出将油溶性钼化合物用作润滑油添加剂。尤其是,向油中添加钼化合物,特别是二硫代氨基甲酸钼化合物,为油品提供更好的边界摩擦特性。并且台架试验证明含有这种钼化合物的油品的摩擦系数普遍低于含有有机摩擦改性剂油品的摩擦系数。这种摩擦系数的降低导致了抗磨特性的改进,并且可以有助于提高汽油或柴油点火式发动机的燃料经济性,包括长期和短期燃料经济性(即燃料经济保持特性)。为了提供抗磨效果,一般钼化合物的添加量是向油品中引入约350ppm~2000ppm的钼。虽然钼化合物是有效的减磨剂并且可以进一步提供燃料经济利益,但这种钼化合物相对于常规无金属(无灰)有机摩擦改进剂是昂贵的。
尽管如此,仍然持续的需要更高成本效率的润滑油组合物,该润滑油组合物不含钼基摩擦改进剂就能提供相等的或更好的润滑性能。
根据第一方面,本发明的一个示例性实施方案提供了一种改进的基本上不含钼化合物的润滑油组合物,该组合物可以提供相等的或更好的润滑性能。该润滑油组合物包括至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有约50~约85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物。润滑油组合物中还包括含金属洗涤剂,至少一种减磨剂,至少一种抗氧化剂,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物。该润滑油组合物基本上不含钼化合物。
根据第二方面,本发明提供一种润滑油添加剂浓缩物用于减少润滑油组合物中的淤渣。该浓缩物不含钼并含有烃基载流体,至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自含有约50-约85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物。在浓缩物中还含有用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物,其提供给润滑油组合物约10~约500ppm的钛。
根据第三方面,本发明提供一种润滑的表面,该表面具有与其接触的润滑油组合物,该组合物包括润滑粘度的基础油和添加剂包。该添加剂包包括至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有约50~约85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物。添加剂包中还包括含金属洗涤剂,至少一种减磨剂,至少一种抗氧化剂,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物。该润滑油组合物基本上不含钼化合物。

另一方面,本发明提供一种润滑油组合物,该润滑油组合物含有润滑粘度的基础油和一定量的至少一种烃溶性钛化合物,该烃溶性钛化合物可有效的改善润滑性能,所述改善润滑性能选自:与不含烃溶性钛化合物的润滑油组合物相比具有更大程度的表面磨损降低、与不含烃溶性钛化合物的润滑油组合物相比具有更大程度的润滑油组合物的氧化性降低以及与不含烃溶性钛化合物的润滑油组合物相比具有更大程度的润滑油组合物中淤渣形成的减少。
公开的实施方案的一个优点是,相对于包括含钛化合物和常规琥珀酰亚胺分散剂的组合物,在减少淤渣方面有显著的改进。上述优点是在润滑油组合物中不存在含钼化合物情况下获得。其它优点还包括润滑油组合物摩擦系数的降低,表面磨损的降低和/或氧化性的降低。其它和进一步的目的、公开的实施方案的优点和特点可通过引证下述内容加以理解。
具体而言,本发明提供了:
1、一种全配方润滑油组合物,所述组合物包括至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有约50~约85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物,含金属洗涤剂,至少一种减磨剂,至少一种抗氧化剂,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物,其中该润滑油组合物基本上不含钼化合物。
2、如方面1的组合物,其中含金属洗涤剂选自苯酚钙、水杨酸钙、磺酸钙、苯酚镁、水杨酸镁、磺酸镁及其混合物。

实施方案详述
对于这里所公开的润滑油组合物而言,在润滑油组合物中可以使用具有摩擦改进和/或极压和/或抗氧化和/或抗磨特性的任何合适的烃溶性钛化合物,和/或单独或与其它添加剂组合减少淤渣形成的特性。术语“烃溶的”、“油溶的”或“分散的”并不拟表示化合物以所有比例可溶、易溶、混溶或能够悬浮于烃化合物或油中。然而,这些确实意味着它们,例如,是可溶的或稳定分散在油中达到足以发挥它们在油品所使用的环境中的预期效果的程度。此外,如果需要,额外加入的其它添加剂也可以允许更高水平的特殊添加剂加入。
术语“烃溶的”表示化合物被大量地悬浮或溶解在烃物质中,如通过镁化合物与烃物质反应或络合而形成的。在此处使用的“烃”是指含有碳、氢和/或氧以各种方式组合的大量的化合物中的任意一种。
术语“烃基”指这样的基团,该基团具有直接连接在分子剩余部分上的碳原子并且具有主要的烃类特性。烃基基团的例子包括:
(i)烃取代基,即脂族(例如烷基或链烯基)、脂环族(例如环烷基或环烯基)取代基,和芳基、脂族和脂环族取代的芳族取代基,以及环状取代基,其中环经由分子的另一部分完成(即两个取代基一起形成脂环族基团);
(ii)被取代的烃取代基,即那些含有非烃基团的取代基,在本发明的上下文中,所述非烃基团没有改变取代基的主要烃取代基(例如卤素(尤其是氯和氟),羟基,烷氧基,巯基,烷基巯基,硝基,亚硝基和硫氧基(sulfoxy));

重要的是,配体的有机基团具有足够的碳原子数使得化合物可溶于或可分散在油或烃流体中。例如,每个基团中的碳原子数一般为约1~约100个,优选约1~约30个,更优选约4~约20个。
适合在此使用的烃溶性钛化合物,例如作为摩擦改进剂、极压添加剂或抗氧化剂,是由钛醇盐和约C6~约C25羧酸的反应产物提供的。反应产物可由下式表示:
其中n是选自2、3和4的整数,R是含有约5~约24个碳原子的烃基,或由下式表示:
其中R1、R2、R3和R4中的每一个都可以相同或不同,并且选自含有约5~约25个碳原子的烃基。前式的化合物基本上不含有磷和硫。
在一个实施方案中,烃溶性钛化合物可以大体或基本上不含硫和磷原子,以使含有烃溶性钛化合物的润滑油或配方润滑油包含有约0.7wt.%或更少的硫和约0.12wt.%或更少的磷。
在另一个实施方案中,烃溶性钛化合物可以基本上不含活性硫。“活性”硫是没有完全氧化的硫。在使用时,活性硫在油中进一步氧化并变得更加具有酸性。
在另一个实施方案中,烃溶性钛化合物可以基本上不含硫。在另外的实施方案中,烃溶性钛化合物可以基本上不含所有磷。在另外的实施方案中,烃溶性钛化合物基本上不含所有的硫和磷。例如,钛化合物可以被溶解于其中的基础油可以含有相对少量的硫,例如在一个实施方案中硫含量低于约0.5wt.%,而在另一个实施方案中硫含量为约0.03wt.%或更少(例II类基础油),并且在另外的实施方案中,在基础油中硫和/或磷的量可以被限制到允许成品油在给定时间内就效果而言满足合适的发动机油对硫和/或磷的规定的量。
钛/羧酸产物的例子包括,但不限于,钛与主要选自己酸、辛酸、月桂酸、肉豆蔻酸、棕榈酸、硬脂酸、花生酸、油酸、芥酸、亚油酸、亚麻酸、环己烷甲酸、苯乙酸、苯甲酸、新癸酸等的羧酸反应的产物。制备上述钛/羧酸产物的方法已经被描述,例如在美国专利5,260,466中,该专利的公开内容在此引入作为参考。
下面给出的实施例是为了举例说明实施方案,并不以任何方式限制实施方案。
实施例1
新癸酸钛的合成
将新癸酸(约600g)置于配有冷凝器、Dean-Stark分水器、温度计、热电偶和进气口的反应容器中。将氮气吹入酸中,在剧烈的搅拌下将异丙醇钛(约245g)慢慢加入到反应容器中。将反应物加热到约140℃,并搅拌1小时。将反应中顶部馏出物和冷凝物收集在分水器中。对反应容器施加低于大气压的压力,并且反应物被另外搅拌约两个小时直到反应结束。产物分析说明产物在约100℃时的运动粘度为约14.3cSt,并且含钛量为约6.4wt.%.。
实施例2
油酸钛的合成
将油酸(约489g)置于配有冷凝器、Dean-Stark分水器、温度计、热电偶和进气口的反应容器中。将氮气吹入酸中,在剧烈的搅拌下将异丙醇钛(约122.7g)慢慢加入到反应容器中。将反应物加热到约140℃,并搅拌1小时。将反应中顶部馏出物和冷凝物收集在分水器中。对反应容器施加低于大气压的压力,并且反应物被另外搅拌约两个小时直到反应结束。产物分析说明产物在约100℃时的运动粘度为约7.0cSt,并且含钛量为约3.8wt.%.。
在此描述的实施方案中的烃溶性钛化合物被有利的加入到润滑油组合物中。因此,烃溶性钛化合物可直接加入到润滑油组合物中。然而,在一个实施方案中,烃溶性钛化合物被大量的惰性的、通常是液体的有机稀释剂稀释,所述稀释剂是例如矿物油、合成油(例如二羧酸酯)、石脑油、烷基化(例如C10-C13烷基)苯、甲苯或二甲苯,以形成金属添加剂浓缩物。钛添加剂浓缩物通常含有约0wt.%~约99wt.%稀释油。
公开的实施方案中的润滑油组合物含有钛化合物的量使得组合物含有至少1ppm的钛。例如,已经发现至少10ppm来自钛化合物的钛单独或与第二摩擦改进剂组合可有效地提供摩擦改进,所述第二摩擦改进剂选自含氮摩擦改进剂、有机多硫化物摩擦改进剂、无胺摩擦改进剂和有机无灰无氮摩擦改进剂。
理想的是,来自钛化合物的钛含量为约10ppm~约1500ppm,例如10ppm~1000ppm,更理想的是约50ppm~500ppm,更加理想的是约75ppm~约250ppm,基于润滑油总重量计。因为这种钛化合物也可以提供给润滑油组合物抗磨作用,所以它们的使用允许所用的二烃基二硫代磷酸金属盐减磨剂(例如ZDDP)的用量降低。工业趋势导致加入到润滑油中的ZDDP的用量减少了,以至于润滑油中磷含量降低至1000ppm以下,例如250ppm~750ppm,或250ppm~500ppm。为了在上述低磷润滑油组合物中提供充分的摩擦保护,钛化合物的用量应当为至少提供50ppm质量的钛。钛和/或锌的量可以使用ASTM D5185描述的方法,通过电感耦合等离子体(ICP)发射光谱测定。
以相似的方式,在润滑油组合物中使用钛化合物可以容易的降低润滑油组合物中抗氧化剂和极压添加剂的用量。
分散剂
另一个可减少润滑油组合物淤渣的重要组分是至少一种衍生自高活性聚亚烷基化合物的分散剂。该聚亚烷基化合物可具有数均分子量为约400~约5000或更大。术语“高活性”表示化合物中剩余的亚乙烯基双键的数量大于约45%。例如,化合物中剩余的亚乙烯基双键的数量可以为约50%~约85%。化合物中剩余的亚乙烯基双键的百分含量可以使用众所周知的方法测定,例如,Infra-RedSpectroscopy或C13 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance或它们的组合。一种该化合物的制备方法公开在例如美国专利4,152,499中。一种特别适合的化合物是重均分子量与数均分子量的比值为约1~约6的聚异丁烯。
可使用的分散剂包括,但不限于,胺、醇、酰胺、或酯极性部分,其通常经由桥连基团与聚合物骨架相连。分散剂可选自已经记载在例如美国专利3,697,574和3,736,357中的Mannich分散剂,;在美国专利4,234,435和4,636,322中公开的无灰琥珀酰亚胺分散剂;在美国专利3,219,666、3,565,804和5,633,326中记载的胺分散剂;在美国专利5,936,041、5,643,859、5,627,259中描述的Koch分散剂和美国专利5,851,965、5,853,434和5,792,729中描述的聚亚烷基琥珀酰亚胺分散剂。
一种特别适合的分散剂是衍生自上述聚异丁烯(PIB)化合物的聚亚烷基琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,其中该分散剂具有至少约45%的活性PIB含量。一种特别合适的分散剂是数均分子量为约800~约3000,并且活性PIB含量为约50%~约60%的分散剂。分散剂在润滑油组合物中的总量约1wt.%~10wt.%,基于润滑油组合物总重计。
摩擦改进剂
油溶性摩擦改进剂,而非上述的钛化合物,可被加入到此处所述的润滑油组合物中作为第二摩擦改进剂。第二摩擦改进剂可选自含氮的、无氮的和/或无胺的摩擦改进剂。典型的,第二摩擦改进剂的用量可以为润滑油组合物的约0.02~2.0wt.%。优选使用0.05~1.0wt.%,更优选0.1~0.5wt.%的第二摩擦改进剂。
这种含氮摩擦改进剂可以使用的例子包括,但不限于,咪唑啉类、酰胺类、胺类、琥珀酰亚胺类、烷氧基化的胺类、烷氧基化的醚胺类、氧化胺类、酰氨基胺类、腈类、内铵盐类、季胺类、亚胺类、胺盐类、氨基胍、烷醇酰胺等。
这样的摩擦改进剂可以含有烃基,该烃基可以选自直链、支链或芳族烃基,或其混合物,并且可以是饱和的或不饱和的。烃基基团主要由碳和氢组成,但是可以含有一个或多个杂原子,例如硫或氧。优选的烃基基团具有12~25个碳原子并且可以是饱和的或不饱和的,更优选是带有直链烃基基团的烃基。
示例性的摩擦改进剂包括多胺的酰胺。这种化合物可以含有烃基,该烃基是直链的、或饱和或不饱和的、或其混合物,且含有不多于约12~约25个碳原子。
其它示例性的摩擦改进剂包括烷氧基化胺和烷氧基化醚胺,最优选的是每摩尔氮含约两摩尔的环氧烷基的烷氧基化胺。这种化合物可以含有烃基,该烃基是直链的、或饱和或不饱和的、或其混合物。它们含有的碳原子数不多于约12~约25,并且在烃基链中可以含有一个或多个杂原子。乙氧基化胺和乙氧基化醚胺是特别合适的含氮摩擦改进剂。胺和氨化物可以原样直接使用,或者是以与硼化合物的加合物或反应产物的形式使用,上述硼化合物是例如氧化硼、卤化硼、偏硼酸盐、硼酸或者是硼酸一烷基酯、硼酸二烷基酯或硼酸三烷基酯。
可以用作摩擦改进剂的无灰有机多硫化合物包括以下式表示的有机化合物,例如油或脂或聚烯烃的硫化物,其中分子结构中存在具有相邻并且键合在一起的两个或多个硫原子的硫原子基团。

在上式中,R1和R2独立地表示直链、支链、脂环族或芳族烃基,其中直链、支链、脂环族单元和芳族单元可以选择性地以任何组合方式包含在其中。可以包含不饱和键,但是优选饱和烃基基团。其中,特别优选的是烷基基团、芳基基团、烷基芳基基团、苄基基团和烷基苄基基团。
R2和R3独立地表示直链、支链、脂环族或芳族烃基,该烃基具有两处键合位点,并且其中直链、支链、脂环族单元和芳族单元可以选择性地以任何组合方式包含在其中。可以包含不饱和键,但是优选饱和烃基基团。其中,特别优选的是亚烷基基团。
R5和R6独立地表示直链或支链的烃基,下标“x”和“y”独立地表示2或更大的整数。
具体地,例如可提及硫化鲸油、硫化蒎烯油(sulfurized pinene oil)、硫化大豆油、硫化聚烯烃、二烷基二硫化物、二硫基多硫化物、二苄基二硫化物、二叔丁基二硫化物、聚烯烃多硫化物、诸如二烷基多硫烷基噻二唑的噻二唑型化合物、和硫化苯酚。在这些化合物当中,优选二烷基多硫化物、二苄基二硫化物和噻二唑型化合物。特别优选二烷基多硫基噻二唑。
作为润滑油添加剂,可以使用含有金属的化合物,诸如具有多硫化物键的苯酚钙。然而,因为这种化合物的摩擦系数很大,所以使用这种化合物可能并不总是合适的。相反,上述有机多硫化物可以是不含金属的无灰化合物,并且当与其它摩擦改进剂组合使用的时候,在长时间保持摩擦系数方面呈现出优异性能。
上述无灰有机多硫化物(此后简称“多硫化物”)的添加量以硫(S)计为0.01~0.4wt.%,典型地为0.1~0.3wt.%,优选0.2~0.3wt.%,相对于滑油组合物的总量计。如果添加量低于0.01wt.%,则难于获得预期的效果,然而如果添加量大于0.4wt.%,则增加了腐蚀磨损的危险。
在此处公开的润滑油组合物中可以使用的有机、无灰(无金属的)、无氮的摩擦改性剂通常是已知的,并且包括羧酸和酸酐与链烷醇或二醇反应形成的酯,脂肪酸是特别合适的羧酸。其它有用的摩擦改进剂通常包括共价键结合到亲油的烃链上的极性端基(例如羧基或羟基)。美国专利4,702,850描述了羧酸和酸酐与链烷醇的酯。与钛化合物组合使用的特别理想的摩擦改进剂是酯,例如乙二醇单油酸酯(GMO)。
在此处公开的润滑油组合物中包括上述第二摩擦改进剂,该摩擦改进剂与钛化合物组合使用,并且以有效的使用量允许组合物安全地通过连续VG测试。例如,第二摩擦进性剂被足量地添加到含钛润滑油组合物中,以获得高于约8.2的平均发动机淤渣等级和低于约20%的滤油网堵塞等级。典型地,为了提供理想效果,第二摩擦改进剂的添加量可以为约0.25wt.%~约2.0wt.%(AD,以润滑油组合物的总重量为基准。
含金属洗涤剂
含金属或成灰洗涤剂既起到降低或除去沉渣的洗涤剂作用又起到酸中和剂或防锈剂的作用,由此降低磨损并延长发动机寿命。洗涤剂通常包括带有长疏水尾部的极性头,该极性头包含酸性有机化合物的金属盐。该盐可含有基本上化学计量的金属,其中它们通常被描述成中式盐或中性盐。并且可通过ASTMD-2896测定的总碱值(TBN)一般为0~80。通过使过量的金属化合物例如氧化物或氢氧化物与酸性气体例如二氧化碳反应,可能包括大量的金属碱。由此产生的高碱性洗涤剂包含中性的洗涤剂作为金属碱(例如碳酸盐)胶束的外层。这种高碱性洗涤剂的TBN值可为150或更大,并且典型地是250~450或更大。
已知的洗涤剂包括油溶性的中性和高碱性磺酸盐、酚盐、硫化酚盐、硫代磷酸盐、水杨酸盐和环烷酸盐及其它油溶性金属羧酸盐,尤其是碱金属或碱土金属,例如钠、钾、锂、钙和镁。最普遍使用的金属是钙和镁,其可以同时存在于用于润滑油的洗涤剂中,及钙和/或镁与钠的混合物。特别适宜的金属洗涤剂是中性和高碱性磺酸钙,其TBN值为约20~约450,而中性和高碱性苯酚钙和硫化酚盐的TBN值为约50~约450。
在公开的实施方案中,一种或多种钙基洗涤剂的用量可以将约0.05~约0.6wt.%的钙、钠或镁引入到组合物中。钙、钠或镁的用量可以通过电感耦合等离子体(ICP)发射光谱使用ASTM D5185中所述的方法测定。典型地,金属基洗涤剂是高碱性的,并且高碱性金属基洗涤剂的总碱值为约150~约450,更理想地,金属基洗涤剂是高碱性磺酸钙洗涤剂。公开的实施方案中的组合物可以进一步包括或中性或高碱性的镁基洗涤剂,然而,典型地,在此所公开的润滑油组合物是不含镁的。
减磨剂
以被添加到本发明的润滑油组合物中的二烃基二硫代磷酸金属盐减磨剂包含二烃基二硫代磷酸金属盐,其中金属可以为碱或碱土金属、或铝、铅、锡、钼、锰、镍、铜、钛或锌。锌盐被最普遍地用于润滑油中。
二烃基二硫代磷酸盐金属盐可以根据已知的技术设备,首先形成二烃基二硫代磷酸(DDPA),通常使一种或多种醇或酚与P2S5反应,然后使用金属化合物中和形成DDPA。例如,二硫代磷酸可以通过伯醇和仲醇的混合物反应制得。或者,多种二硫代磷酸可以被制备,其中在一种上的烃基在本质上完全是仲碳,而在其它上的烃基在本质上完全是伯碳。为了制备金属盐,可以使用任何碱性或中性金属化合物,但是氧化物、氢氧化物和碳酸盐是最普遍使用的。市售添加剂经常含有过量的金属,因为在中和反应中使用过量的碱性金属化合物。
典型使用的二烃基二硫代磷酸锌(ZDDP)是油溶性的二烃基二硫代磷酸盐,并且可以用下式表示:
其中R7和R8可以是相同或不同的含1~18,典型地2~12个碳原子的烃基基团,其包括的基团例如为烷基、链烯烃、芳基、芳烷基、烷芳基和环脂族基团。特别理想地,R7和R8基团是具有2~8个碳原子的烷基基团。因此该基团可以是例如乙基、正丙基、异丙基、正丁基、异丁基、仲丁基、戊基、正己基、异己基、正辛基、癸基、十二烷基、十八烷基、2-乙基己基、苯基、丁基苯基、环己基、甲基环戊基、丙烯基、丁烯基。为了获得油溶性,二硫代磷酸中的碳原子总数(即R7和R8)通常为约5或更大。因此二烃基二硫代磷酸锌能包括二烷基二硫代磷酸锌。
为了限制由ZDDP引入润滑油组合物中的磷含量不多于0.1wt.%(1000ppm),ZDDP应加入到润滑油组合物中的理想用量是不多于约1.1~1.3wt.%,以润滑油组化物的总重量为基准。
其它添加剂,例如下述的,也可以存在于此所公开的润滑油组合物中。
粘度改进剂
粘度改进剂(VM)的作用是提供给润滑油高温和低温的操作性能。所用的VM可以具有单一功能或者可以是多功能的。
有分散剂作用的多功能粘度改进剂也是已知的。合适的粘度改进剂是聚异丁烯、乙烯和丙烯及高级α-烯烃的共聚物、聚甲基丙烯酸酯、聚甲基丙烯酸烷基酯、甲基丙烯酸酯共聚物、不饱和二元羧酸和乙烯基化合物的共聚物、苯乙烯和丙烯酸酯的内聚物以及及苯乙烯/异戊二烯、苯乙烯/丁二烯和异戊二烯/丁二烯的部分氢化的共聚物,以及丁二烯和异戊二烯及异戊二烯/二乙烯基苯的部分氢化的均聚物。
氧化抑制剂
氧化抑制剂或抗氧化剂降低了基本油料在使用期破坏的趋势,上述破坏表现为金属表面上的氧化产物和粘度增加,该氧化产物为例如淤渣和漆状沉积物。这种氧化抑制剂包括受阻酚,具有C5~C12烷基侧链的烷基酚硫代酯的碱土金属盐、壬基酚硫化钙、无灰油溶性酚盐和硫化酚盐、磷硫化的或硫化的烃、磷酯、硫代氨基甲酸金属盐和美国专利4,867,890中描述的油溶性铜化合物。
防锈剂
可以使用选自非离子聚氧化亚烷基多元醇和其酯、聚氧化亚烷基酚和阴离子烷基磺酸的防锈剂。
抗腐蚀剂
可以使用带有铜和铅的抗腐蚀剂,但在本发明的配方组合物中一般不要求使用。典型地,这种化合物是含有5~50个碳原子的噻二唑多硫化物、它们的衍生物和它们的聚合物。1,3,4-噻二唑的衍生物是典型的,例如那些描述在美国专利2,719,125、2,719,126和3,087,932中的。其它相似的物质描述在美国专利3,821,236、3,904,537、4,097,387、4,107,059、4,136,043、4,188,299和4,193,882中。其它添加剂是噻二唑的硫代和多硫代亚磺酰胺,例如那些描述在英国专利说明书1,560,830中的。苯并***衍生物同样落在此类添加剂中。当润滑油组合物包含这些化合物的时候,这些化合物的用量一般不超过活性成分的0.2wr.%。
破乳剂
可以使用少量的破乳剂。合适的破乳剂组分描述在EP 330,522中。破乳组分可以通过使氧化烯与加合物反应制得,该加合物是通过二环氧化合物与多元醇反应而制得的。破乳组分的使用量可不超过活性成分的0.1质量%。0.001~0.05质量%活性成分的处理比例是适宜的。
倾点下降剂
倾点下降剂,另外被称作润滑油流动改进剂,降低流体流动或能被倾泻的最低温度。这种添加剂是众所周知的。那些典型的改进流体的低温流动性的添加剂是富马酸C8~C18二烷基酯/醋酸乙烯酯的共聚物、聚甲基丙烯酸烷基酯等。
消泡剂
可以通过很多化合物来提供泡沫控制,这些化合物包括聚硅氧烷型消泡剂,例如硅油或聚二甲烷硅氧烷。
一些上述添加剂可以提供多种效果,因此,例如单一的添加剂可以起分散剂-氧化抑制剂的作用。这种方法是众所周知的并且不需要进一步的详述。
单独的添加剂可以任何方便的方式加入到基本油料中。因此,每种组分能够通过以所需的浓度水平分散或溶解在基本油料或基础油共混物中而被直接加入到基本油料或基础油共混物中,此种共混可以在室温或高温下进行。
基础油
用作基础油的润滑粘度的油可以是至少一种选自I类、II类和/或III类基本油料或上述基本油料的基础油共混物,条件是基础油或基础油共混物的粘度指数是至少95,并且允许配制的润滑油组合物的Noack挥发度低于15%,该挥发度根据ASTM D5880的方法确定油在250℃蒸发1小时后的质量损失百分比而测定。此外,润滑粘度的油可以是一种或多种IV类或V类基础油或其组合,或含有一种或多种IV类或V类基本油料与一种或多种I类、II类和/或III类基本油料的组合的基础油混合物。其它基础油可包括至少部分含有由气体液化方法得到的基础油。
满足现行的ILSAC GF-4和API SM规范的最理想的基础油是:
(a)III类基本油料与I类或II类基本油料的基础油共混物,其中该组合的粘度指数为至少110;或
(b)III类、IV类或V类基本油料,或一种以上的III类、IV类或V类基本油料的基础油共混物,其中粘度指数是约120~约140之间。
在本发明中基本油料和基础油的定义与美国石油学会(API)出版物“EngineOil Licensing and Certification System”,Industry Services Department,14版,1996年12月,附录1,1998年12月所公开的相同。所述出版物对基本油料分类如下:
a)I类基本油料,用下表A所规定的试验方法测定,I类基本油料含有小于90%饱和物和/或大于0.03%硫,并且其粘度指数大于或等于80且小于120。
b)II类基本油料,用下表1所规定的试验方法测定,II类基本油料含有大于或等于90%饱和物和小于或等于0.03%硫,并且其粘度指数大于或等于80且小于120。
c)III类基本油料,用下表1所规定的试验方法测定,III类基本油料含有大于或等于90%饱和物和小于或等于0.03%硫,并且其粘度指数大于或等于120。
d)IV类基本油料为聚α-烯烃(PAO)。
e)V类基本油料是所有不包含在I类、II类、III类或IV类中的基本油料。

优选,将除了粘度改进剂和倾点下降剂以外的所有添加剂都共混成浓缩物或添加剂包,在此被描述成添加剂包,然后共混到基本油料中制备最终的润滑油。当浓缩物与预计量基础润滑油混合时,为了在最终配方组合物中提供所需的浓度,浓缩物典型地被配制成含有适量的添加剂。
浓缩物优选地依照美国专利4,938,880中所述方法制备。该专利描述了制备无灰分散剂和金属洗涤剂的预混合物,其在至少约100℃的温度下预混合。之后,预混合物在至少85℃下冷却,并添加添加剂组分。
最终润滑油配方组合物可使用约2-约20质量%,通常约4-约18质量%,优选约5-约17质量%的浓缩物或添加剂包,余量是基本油料。
实施例3
为了评估依照公开的实施方案制备的润滑剂组合物的淤渣减少效果,进行了Sequence VG发动机测试。该Sequence VG测试是Sequence VE,ASTM D 502,淤渣和积炭(varnish)的替代测试。Sequence VG测试测定机油抑制淤渣和积炭形成的能力。发动机是喷油汽油发动机,具有滚轮从动杆、带冷却夹套的摇杆盖和凸轮轴挡板。测试对各种油进行216小时,包括54个循环,各具有三个不同的操作阶段。在各测试最后,测定摇杆臂盖、凸轮挡板、定时链条盖、油盘和油盘挡板、阀盖上的淤渣沉积物。测定活塞裙和凸轮挡板的积炭沉积物。测定油泵滤网和活塞油环的淤渣堵塞。对“热”和“冷”卡塞的活塞压缩环(stuck piston compression rings)也进行检察。
运转使用的基础油是I类和II类油的混合物,该混合物适于制备SAE 5W-30粘度等级。在Sequence VG发动机测试中,对比运转(运转1)使用一种全配方润滑油,该润滑油含有常规分散剂混合物和含钛添加剂。第二运转(运转2)使用含有衍生自高活性聚异丁烯(HRPIB)的分散剂混合物和含钛添加剂的润滑油组合物,以证明HRPIB分散剂和含钛添加剂的结合在减少发动机淤渣方面的效果。运转1中HRPIB分散剂的处理水平被调整至其给予的净分散剂的量与运转2中净分散剂的量相等。

运转2得到的Sequence VG测试结果与运转1得到的测试结果相比表明平均发动机淤渣和滤油网堵塞特性具有显著的改善。用于降低发动机淤渣的HRPIB分散剂和钛添加剂的应用不限于此实施例所示的组合物。相应地,在I类油中包含钛添加剂的全配方润滑油组合物可包含II类、II+类、III类和IV类基础油及其混合物。相信公开的实施方案能够显著减少发动机淤渣。
实施例4
烃溶性钛添加剂的抗氧化效果
在随后的实施例中,烃溶性钛化合物作为顶部处理(top treat)被加到预混合润滑油组合物中以提供给最终的润滑油中约50~约830ppm的钛金属。使用的预混合润滑油组合物是原型客车发动机油,其是在III类基本油料中配制的,含常规量的洗涤剂、分散剂、倾点下降剂、摩擦改进剂、抗氧化剂和粘度指数改进剂,并且不含钛金属。
使用TEOST MHT-4测试方法评价用约0~约800ppm钛元素配制的油的氧化稳定性。TEOST MHT-4测试是一项标准润滑油工业测试,用于评价发动机油的氧化性和碳沉积形成特性。设计该测试以模拟在现代发动机活塞环带区域的高温沉积物形成。测试使用专利设备(美国专利5,401,661和5,287,731:每个专利的内容作为参考在此引入),其中MHT-4方案为对测定方法相对新的改进。测试操作和具体MHT-4条件的细节已经公开在Selby和Florkowski的文章中,题目是“The Development of the TEOST Protocol MHT as a Bench Test of EngineOil Piston Deposit Tendency”,发表在12th Intemational Colloquium TechmischeAkademie Esslingen,January 11-13,2000,Wilfried J.Bartz editor。通常,沉积的毫克量越低,添加剂越好。

在这些实施例中,样品9使用了含有约5.5wt.%钛金属的三异十八烷酸根合-O 2-丙醇钛IV(titanium IV 2-propanolato,tris iso-octadecanoato-O)作为烃溶性钛化合物。样品10使用了含有约5.8wt.%钛金属的三新癸酸根合-O 2,2-二(2-丙烯醇合甲基)丁醇钛IV(titanium IV 2,2(bis2-propeno-latomethyl)butanolato,tris neodecanoato-O)作为烃溶性钛化合物。样品11使用了含有约3.1wt.%钛金属的三(二辛基)磷酸根合-O 2-丙醇钛IV(titanium IV 2-propanolato,tris(dioctyl)phosphato-O)作为烃溶性钛化合物。样品12使用了含有约3.5wt.%钛金属的三(十二烷基)苯磺酸根合-O 2-丙醇钛IV(titanium IV 2-propanolato,tris(do-decyl)benzenesulfanato-O)作为烃溶性钛化合物。样品9-12中的每一种钛化合物都得自Kenrich Petrochemicals,Inc.ofBayonne,New Jersey。
正如上述结果显示的那样,含有约50~约800ppm钛金属的样品2-14,该钛金属以烃溶性钛化合物形式存在,明显优于不含烃溶性钛化合物的常规润滑油组合物。不含烃溶性钛化合物的样品1具有的TEOST结果是39.4毫克,而其它含钛样品(2-12)具有的TEOST结果是约20~约29.9毫克。可以预期,含有约50~约800ppm钛金属的配方组合物,该钛金属以烃溶性钛化合物形式存在,能够降低常规磷和硫抗磨剂的使用,从而改善车辆上污染控制设备的性能,同时具有类似或更好的抗氧化性能。
实施例5
烃溶性钛化合物的减磨效果
配制了十三种全配方润滑油组合物,并使用根据欧洲测试代码IP-239的四球磨损测试对比了组合物的磨损性能。每一种润滑油组合物含有一个常规DI包,其含量为润滑油组合物的11wt.%。该DI包含有常规量的洗涤剂、分散剂、抗磨损添加剂、摩擦改进剂、消泡剂和抗氧化剂。组合物中还含有约0.1wt.%的倾点下降剂、约11.5wt.%的烯烃共聚物粘度指数改进剂、约62~63wt.%的150溶剂中性油、约14.5wt.%的600溶剂中性油。样品13不含钛化合物,样品14-25含钛化合物的量足以提供约80~约200ppm钛金属。样品是在润滑油配方组合物中使用四球磨损测试,在室温下,以1475rpm使用40公斤运转60分钟。配方组合物和测试结果如下表所示。

Ti-TEN CEN是得自OM Group,Inc.of Newark,New Jersey的新癸酸钛,含有约6.7wt.%钛金属。
Ti-2-EHO是2-乙基己醇钛(titanium 2-ethylhexoxide),含有约8.7wt.%钛金属。KR-TTS是得自Kenrich Petrochemicals,Inc.of Bayonne,New Jersey的三异十八烷酸根合-O 2-丙醇钛IV(titanium IV 2-propanolato,trisiso-octadecanoato-O),含有约5.5%钛金属。LICA-01是得自Kenrich Petrochemicals,Inc.的三新癸酸根合-O 2,2-二(2-丙烯醇合甲基)丁醇钛IV(titanium IV 2,2(bis 2-propeno-latomethyl)butanolato,trisneodecanoato-O),含有约5.8%钛金属。KR-12是得自Kenrich Petrochemicals,Inc.的三(二辛基)磷酸根合-O 2-丙醇钛IV(titanium IV 2-propanolato,tris(dioctyl)phosphato-O),含有约3.1%钛金属。KR-9S是得自Kenrich Petrochemicals,Inc.的三(十二烷基)苯磺酸根合-O 2-丙醇钛IV(titanium IV 2-propanolato,tris(do-decyl)benzenesulfanato-O),含有约3.5%钛金属。
PPD是倾点降低剂。
正如上述结果显示的那样,含有约80~约200ppm钛金属的样品14-25,该钛金属以烃溶性钛化合物形式存在,明显优于不含钛金属的常规润滑油组合物。不含钛金属的样品13具有约0.65毫米的磨损伤疤直径,而其它含有钛的样品具有约0.35~约0.47毫米的磨损伤疤直径。可以预期,含有约50~约500ppm钛金属的配方组合物,该钛金属以烃溶性钛化合物形式存在,能够降低传统磷和硫抗磨剂的使用,从而改善车辆上污染控制设备的性能,同时具有相似或更好的抗磨性能。

Claims (10)
1.一种全配方润滑油组合物,所述组合物包括至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有50~85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物,含金属洗涤剂,至少一种减磨剂,至少一种抗氧化剂,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物,其中该润滑油组合物基本上不含钼化合物,其中烃溶性钛化合物包括钛醇盐与C6~C25羧酸的反应产物。
2.如权利要求1的组合物,其中含金属洗涤剂选自苯酚钙、水杨酸钙、磺酸钙、苯酚镁、水杨酸镁、磺酸镁及其混合物。
3.如权利要求1的组合物,其中所述来自钛化合物的钛量为10ppm~500ppm。
4.如权利要求1的组合物,其中所述钛化合物包括异丙醇钛和新癸酸的反应产物。
5.一种润滑的表面,其包括润滑油组合物,该润滑油组合物包含润滑粘度的基础油和添加剂包,该添加剂包包括至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有50~85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物,含金属洗涤剂,至少一种减磨剂,至少一种抗氧化剂,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物,其中该润滑油组合物基本上不含钼化合物,其中烃溶性钛化合物包括钛醇盐与C6~C25羧酸的反应产物。
6.一种车辆,其具有活动的部分和润滑该活动部分的润滑油,该润滑油包括润滑粘度的油和添加剂包,该添加剂包包括至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有50~85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物,含金属洗涤剂,至少一种减磨剂,至少一种抗氧化剂,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物,其中该润滑油基本上不含钼化合物,其中烃溶性钛化合物包括钛醇盐与C6~C25羧酸的反应产物。
7.如权利要求6的车辆,其中摩擦改进剂包括不含金属的摩擦改进剂,该摩擦改进剂选自甘油酯和胺化合物。
8.一种全配方润滑油组合物,其包括润滑粘度的基础油和一定量的淤渣减少润滑油添加剂,其中该润滑油添加剂包括至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有50~85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物,含金属洗涤剂,至少一种减磨剂,至少一种抗氧化剂,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物,该钛化合物向润滑油组合物中提供10~500ppm的钛,其中该润滑油组合物基本上不含钼化合物,其中烃溶性钛化合物包括钛醇盐与C6~C25羧酸的反应产物。
9.一种用于在润滑油组合物中减少淤渣的润滑油添加剂浓缩物,该浓缩物不含钼,并且包括烃基载流体,至少一种琥珀酰亚胺分散剂,该分散剂衍生自具有50~85%亚乙烯基双键的聚亚烷基化合物,和用作摩擦改进剂的烃溶性钛化合物,该钛化合物向润滑油组合物中提供10~500ppm的钛,其中烃溶性钛化合物包括钛醇盐与C6~C25羧酸的反应产物。
10.一种发动机润滑油组合物,其包括润滑粘度的基础油和一定量的至少一种烃溶性钛化合物,该钛化合物可有效的改善润滑性能,所述改善润滑性能选自:与不含烃溶性钛化合物的润滑油组合物相比具有更大的发动机表面磨损降低、与不含烃溶性钛化合物的润滑油组合物相比具有更大的发动机中的润滑油组合物的氧化性降低以及与不含烃溶性钛化合物的润滑油组合物相比具有更大的润滑油组合物中发动机淤渣形成的减少,其中烃溶性钛化合物包括钛醇盐与C6~C25羧酸的反应产物。
