Rohrverbindung.
Pipe connection. Up to now, two pipes abutting each other were usually connected by means of a screw connection through a sleeve, which, however, have the disadvantage of frequent leaks and bursting of the connection body with greater temperature fluctuations as a result of the material expansions and contractions.
The present invention is a pipe connection through which the above-described inconveniences are scorned who should, and the same can be used for pipes of all kinds, such as water, steam, compressed air lines, armored steel pipes of electrical systems etc.
According to the invention, a covering consisting of a flexible material is arranged over the abutment sides of two pipes, over which a pipe-clamp-shaped body rests, which by means of screws mounted in the same is pressed together and thus also pressed onto the covering, whereby the latter is also pressed the pipes are pressed.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the accompanying drawing, and it shows: FIG. 1 a view from the side, and FIG. 2 a section along the line A-A of FIG.
a and b designate the two pipes butting together. About the abutment side c of the tubes a and b is on the peripheral surface of the same made of flexible material, for. B. rubber, rubber, asbestos, etc., be standing covering d arranged. The covering d is best made of a hill-shaped piece. The pipe clamp e is placed around the covering d and the ends thereof extending in the longitudinal direction are each bent over to form a flange f.
The underlay bars g and g1 are arranged on the flanges f. The rod g is provided with holes for the implementation of the screws h, while the rod g 'is provided with nut thread be seated holes. By tightening the screws h, the flanges f are moved against each other, whereby the pipe clamp is pressed onto the covering and the latter consequently onto the pipes .a and b.
On the side facing the flanges f, a backing plate i is arranged between the pipe clamp and the covering, which prevents the covering from becoming trapped between the two flanges f when the pipe clamp is drawn together.
The pipe connection described above is sufficient in normal cases for all pipelines and also for those which are under pressure. The production costs of the same are very modest, and they can also be installed quickly. For pipe connections that are subject to jolts and constant shaking are subject to, as is the case with vehicles, it is advisable to attach safety nuts to the screws.
In the case of pipes of this type, which are subject to great pressure, it is advisable to coat pipes .a and b with synthetic silicone (limestone) before: the rubber hose cl is attached.
