The present invention relates to an analog display device according to a non-circular path previously chosen. The analog display device is usually in the form of an additional module cooperating with an existing template. The device or the module has the particularity of modifying the indication of the minutes on the dial.
Indeed, the minute indicating hand moves along a path or a rail defined beforehand and printed on the dial.
The device according to the invention, comprising an indication member of a value to be displayed mounted on an axis of rotation, is characterized in that it comprises means arranged to control the indication member so as to that its free end follows the path chosen during rotation about the axis.
According to a first embodiment, the control means of the indication member may comprise a longitudinal groove sliding on two pins mounted on a first guide arm,
itself integral with the axis of rotation.
The control means of the indicating member may comprise a transverse groove guided by a pin mounted on a second arm in kinematic connection with the first guide arm.
According to a second embodiment, the control means of the indicating member comprises a pinion having a partial toothing engraining with a toothing placed inside a recess made in the indicating member and extending the longitudinal groove.
The teeth may comprise two opposite parts placed on either side of the recess, the pinion engraining one after the other the two opposite parts of the toothing and thus causing a movement back and forth of the indicating body of the value to be displayed.
According to a preferred embodiment,
the indicating member of the value to be displayed is a pointer.
The analog display device according to a previously chosen path is usually mounted on a timepiece.
Alternatively, the device can be used for the indication of any value specific to all areas of the art, such as temperature indication, voltage indication or electrical current, indication of size, capacity, etc. .
The drawing represents, by way of example, several embodiments of the analog display device according to the invention. In the drawing:
<tb> fig. 1 <sep> is a schematic view of an analog display of a conventional watch according to a circular railway,
<tb> fig. 2 <sep> is a schematic view of a first embodiment of an analog display according to an oval railroad,

<tb> fig. 4 <sep> is a view of the mechanism for driving the needle of FIG. 3
<tb> fig. <Sep> is a view showing the operation of the mechanism of FIG. 4 when driving the needle of FIG. 3
<tb> fig. 6 <sep> is a section through the drive axis of the needles of the mechanism of FIGS. 2 to 5,
<tb> figs. 7 to 10 <sep> show variants of needles or railway of the device,
<tb> fig. 11 <sep> is a view of a second embodiment of an analog display according to an oval railroad,
<tb> fig. 12 <sep> is a view, on an enlarged scale, of the pointer of the display of FIG. 11
<tb> fig. 13 <sep> is a view similar to that of fig. 12, showing the end and the beginning of the seeding of the needle, and
<tb> fig. 14 <sep> is a view of the embodiment of FIG. 11 according to a diamond railway.
In FIG. 1 is shown a conventional watch 1 where the minute hand 2 travels in a circular motion. The free end of the needle 2 thus travels a circle 3, so as to follow the path or railway minutes on the dial.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the free end or tip of the minute hand 4 travels along an oval 5 which represents the chosen path or railway printed on the dial 6.
It is obvious to those skilled in the art that the minute hand 4 is shown by way of example, and that this hand 4 could be the hour hand, or the seconds hand, or an element of indication of any other data, eg day, month, year, etc. ...
The needle 4 shown in bottom view in FIG. 3 has two grooves 7 and 8. The groove 7 may have a configuration chosen according to the path that the end of the needle 4 is supposed to perform and the groove 8 is a longitudinal groove along the axis of the needle.
The needle 4 is driven by an additional device or module mounted on a timepiece not shown.
The additional device or module, which will be described later with reference to FIG. 6 comprises two arms 9 and 10 (FIG 4) assembled one on the other in the center of the movement of the timepiece. The arm 9 performs a complete rotation per hour and is integral with the timekeeping mechanism of the timepiece, and the arm 10 is also driven by the time indicating mechanism, so as to perform two full laps per hour. On the arms 9 and 10 are driven pins 11, 12 and 13, and the needle 4 is placed on the arms 9 and 10, so that the groove 7 coincides with the pin 13, the groove 8 being positioned by the pins 11 and 12. Thus, the groove 8 guides the minute hand and make them perform a turn in one hour.
The pin 13 driven on the arm 10 can guide the needle 4 by running an ovoid.
Thus, as shown in FIG. 5, the path of the needle 4 on the dial is defined by the speed of rotation of the arm 10 relative to the arm 9, and by the shape of the groove 7. The latter allows to refine the curve of the path of the road. iron, according to the form given to this groove.
It can be rectilinear or curved.
For our case, we have chosen that the arm 10 rotates twice as fast as the arm 9, because we want the needle is larger at noon and six o'clock, and it is smaller than three hours and at nine o'clock.
The control mechanism of the needle 4 of Figs. 3 to 5 is shown in section in FIG. 6.
The indicator needle 4, for our minute hand case, is positioned at the very top of the stack of the mechanism shown in FIG. 6. A wheel 14 is secured to the floor of the base caliber 15, and thus turns one turn per hour. The pinion 16 and the wheel 17 form a return which makes it possible to multiply the speed of the wheel 18a. For our case, two rounds per hour for an oval. On this last wheel 18a is driven the arm 9, intended to drive the needle 4.
Then, to drive the arm 10 which makes two rotations per hour, a simple return 18 has been installed between the wheels 14 and 19. As a result, the arm 10 rotates twice an hour.
The hour hand is driven on the hour wheel 19. The mechanism that has just been described is mounted on a plate 20 which comes to rest on the base caliber or the timepiece.
The needle 4 may have different shapes, for example the form shown in FIG. 7. As a rule, the shape of the needle will be determined by the constraint caused by the presence of the means necessary for the control of the needle, in particular the two grooves 7 and 8 (FIG 5).
On the other hand, the path made by the free end of the needle can also be chosen according to artistic or practical criteria of adaptation to the shape of the timepiece. The course of the free end of the needle shown in FIG. 8 is an example. In this case, the arm 10 (FIG 5) rotates three times faster than the arm 9.
In the example of fig. 9 or 10, the arm 10 performs four complete rotations for a rotation performed by the arm 9.
The example of FIG. 10 can be applied to the realization of a square watch, as the example of FIG. 9 for which it is sufficient to provide a rotation of 45 deg. for the entire device compared to the timepiece.
The second embodiment of the analog display device shown in Figs. 11 to 14 comprises a dial 21 on which is printed a previously chosen path or railway 22. In FIG. 11, the railroad 22 is in the form of an oval.
It may, however, be in any other form, for example square, and the display member 23 may be a hand of hours, minutes, seconds, or any other indication.
The device of FIGS. 11 to 13 is composed mainly of three pieces:
A needle 23 containing a toothed rack 24
- An arm 25 guiding the needle and its two pins 26 and 27
- Partially toothed pinion 28.
On the arm 25, are driven the two pins 26 and 27 for guiding the needle 23. The latter comprises in its interior the toothing 24. The pinion 28 placed in the center of the template has a partial set of teeth 29. It rotates clockwise engraining with the toothing 24 of the needle 23.
To obtain an oval shape as shown in FIG. 14 with the mechanism just described, the path of the needle is defined by the rack 24 used. The device described is also orientable 360 deg. compared to the basic caliber.
The device of FIGS. 11 to 13 operates as follows:
Once the pinion 28 has reached the end of the race with the right part of the toothing 24 (FIG 13), it engraine with the left part. And so on. As a result, the needle 23 moves back and forth between its maximum position and its minimum position. Fig. 13 shows the minimum position of the needle. For our case, it is at 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock.
The path of the needle 23 is defined by the speed of rotation of the pinion 28 relative to the arm 25.
Indeed, if the pinion 28 goes twice as fast as the arm 25, it will result in an oval (FIG 11) while if it goes four times faster, the course will be practically square (FIG 14). You should know that these courses are not modifiable by varying the shape of a room. One can act only on the speed of the mobiles 25 and 28. In fact, the shape of the pinion can not be changed since it engrains with the rack 24 of the needle 23. And if we change the number of teeth, it The result is only a better engrainement. But in no way a modification of the railroad of the needle.
