Saiteninstrumenten, welche einen obertonreichen Klang produzieren, bzw. welche durch Abgreifen beliebige Obertöne dem Ohr verfügbar machen. Besonders geeignet ist dafür das sogenannte Monochord, ein Saiteninstrument, bei dem der Klang ein oder mehrerer Saiten gleicher Länge und Tonhöhe auf einen Klangkörper übertragen wird. Der Lehrer bzw. Therapeut kann durch Abgreifen bestimmter Längen und Anzupfen der Saiten die Grund- und Obertöne nach Belieben zum Klingen bzw. zur Auswirkung bringen.
