The present invention relates to a sandblasting device according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a switching device according to the preamble of claim 6.
Sandblasting devices on the market can, for example, be divided into two groups according to their mode of operation. There are so-called injector blasters and pressure blasters.
In the former, the blasting medium emerging from a blasting nozzle is usually caught in a funnel-shaped device and fed back to the blasting nozzle via a hose connected to the bottom of the device. Compressed air, which is fed to the blasting nozzle in a further hose, provides the necessary suction effect on the blasting medium hose and the acceleration of the blasting medium necessary for blasting. The blasting media pressure that can be achieved with these devices and consequently the blasting power are limited.
The pressure blasting devices are more powerful. The blasting medium is filled into a blasting medium tank, which is then closed and pressurized. When pressure is built up using air, it is usually closed automatically with a valve. The boiler has a blasting agent outlet at the bottom, which usually opens into a metering device. At the outlet of the latter, a T-piece is essentially connected, to which compressed air is supplied via a second connection and the third connection of which is connected to the hose line leading to the jet nozzle. The blasting agent emerging from the boiler under pressure is strongly accelerated towards the nozzle by the compressed air supplied to the T-piece and exits at great pressure in the latter.
The latter devices have the disadvantage that the blasting must be interrupted at more or less regular intervals to refill the boiler. The refilling processes are time-consuming, as the boiler pressure has to be released first, then the boiler has to be refilled and the pressure has to be built up again before the actual work can be continued.
The American company CLEMCO Industries, San Francisco, CA 94120, has developed a pressure blasting device in which the above-mentioned disadvantage has been circumvented by arranging two superimposed, pressurizable chambers in the blasting agent vessel. Both chambers are filled with blasting media before operation. During continuous operation, the blasting agent is automatically conveyed from the upper to the lower chamber by a time-controlled compressed air supply to the two chambers. The upper chamber can be refilled during the depressurized periods. This process can be automated by placing a silo over a refill hopper in the blasting media boiler. Such devices are relatively complex to construct and accordingly expensive.
In addition, the time control, which is carried out by timer circuits, must be adapted to the degree of opening of the metering element and the air pressure (ie the blasting agent consumption) in order to ensure smooth, continuous operation.
It is the object of the present invention to create simplifications and improvements here. Furthermore, it is to be achieved that an already existing pressure blasting device with a pressure chamber can be retrofitted to a device for continuous operation without a large additional investment.
This object is achieved with a sandblasting device with the features listed in the characterizing part of claim 1. A switching device according to the invention used for this is characterized in claim 6.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in detail below with reference to figures. Show it
Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of a sandblasting device according to the invention and
Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through a switching device according to the invention for the device shown in FIG. 1.
The sandblasting device shown schematically in FIG. 1 comprises a first blasting agent kettle 1, to which a second, preferably identical blasting agent kettle is connected for 1 minute or in parallel. The reference numerals relating to the two blasting agent boilers 1, 1 min are kept the same for identical parts, a line being added to the reference numerals of the second blasting agent boiler 1 min.
The blasting agent vessel 1 essentially comprises a cylindrical vessel which is arranged in the erected state and opens on its lower side into a funnel which has a central outlet opening, which is referred to as the blasting agent source 4. A loading device 2 is arranged in the upper end region of the vessel. This comprises an insert forming a filling funnel 17 with a central filling opening 18. The latter can be closed with a valve 3, which is shown in the open state in FIG. 1. Blasting agent filled into the charging device 2 can enter the interior of the boiler through the filling opening 18 for filling the blasting agent tank 1. The boiler is not closed at the bottom.
The blasting agent source 4 usually opens into a metering element 5, which usually has a slide for setting the desired blasting agent passage. The output of the metering element 5 is designated 10. It comprises a piece of pipe which opens into further line pipes designated 9 and 13. In the depressurized state of the blasting agent tank 1, the filled blasting agent reaches the outlet 10 of the metering element 5. A pressure agent control valve 6 is arranged on the side of the blasting agent tank 1. A first conduit 7, which is intended for supplying the pressure medium, usually compressed air, is connected to this. The first conduit 7 is connected to a compressor, not shown, as a pressure medium source.
A second conduit 8 extends through the jacket of the blasting agent boiler 1 in the radial direction to approximately the center of the interior of the latter. The tube has an end region 21 which is essentially bent upwards at 90 ° and which is guided to just below said fill opening 18. The cranked end region 21 of the second conduit 8 is the support of the valve 3, which consists of a valve pin 20 which is longitudinally movable in the end region 21 and a valve cone 19 which adjoins it in the unpressurized state on the end face of the end region 21. A third conduit 9 connects a further outlet of the pressure medium control valve 6 to said outlet 10 of the metering element 5 and, referred to as the fourth conduit 13, leads to an input connection 27 of a switching device 25.
Furthermore, a venting lug 32 is arranged on the pressure medium control valve 6. A sensor 14 for monitoring the fill level of the blasting agent tank 1 is attached in the lower region of the blasting agent tank 1, as close as possible to the blasting agent source 4. According to a known embodiment, the sensor 14 can contain, for example, a vibrating rod which is set in a specific and constant oscillation which changes as soon as the blasting medium no longer surrounds the rod. This change in vibration is recognized, for example, by an electronic evaluation unit, which is accommodated in the sensor 14 itself. The sensor 14 is connected to a control device 29 via a first electrical cable 15. A second electrical cable 16 connects the pressure medium control valve 6 to the control device 29.
In this exemplary embodiment, the second blasting agent boiler 1 min is constructed exactly the same. The enumeration of the individual elements is superfluous since they are identical to the corresponding elements of the blasting medium boiler 1. The output 10 min of the metering element 5 min is connected to the third conduit 9 min, which opens out as a fourth conduit 13 min into a further input connection 27 min of the switching device 25. The sensor 14 min and the pressure medium control valve 6 min are each connected to the control device 29 via further electrical cables 15 min and 16 min.
The switching device 25, for example housed in a single closed housing 26, the functioning of which is described in more detail below, has an output connection 28 essentially opposite the two input connections 27, 27 min. The latter is connected to a nozzle 12 via a hose line 11, which preferably consists of a flexible hose. This usually has an operating switch 23. By pressing this switch, the sandblasting device can be started or the operation can be interrupted. The switch position can be reported to the control device 29, for example, via a further electrical cable 24.
The mode of operation of the sandblasting device is as follows: Let us assume that an abrasive silo, which is not shown in FIG. 1, is arranged above the two loading devices 2, 2 min. In the drawn, depressurized state of the sandblasting device, blasting agent passes through the filling openings 18, 18 min into the blasting agent tank 1, 1 min until these are filled. If the start of sandblasting is notified by actuation of the operating switch 23 to the control device 29, this actuates one of the two pressure medium control valves 6 or 6 min via one of the second electrical cables 16, 16 min. To explain the process, we assume that it is the pressure control valve 6.
In the actuated state, this connects the first conduit 7 connected to the compressor, not shown, to the second conduit 8, which leads into the interior of the blasting agent boiler 1, and to the third conduit 9, which is connected to the outlet 10 of the metering element 5 and via the fourth Line pipe 13 opens into the switching device 25. The vent 32 is closed. Compressed air now enters the inside of the boiler on the one hand and presses the cone 19 of the valve 3 against the filler opening 18. This is closed thereby. The compressed air emerges from the second conduit 8 at the point designated 22 and pressurizes the blasting agent boiler 1.
On the other hand, compressed air flows through the third conduit 9, mixes with the blasting agent emerging from the dosing member 5 under pressure, and reaches the switching device 25 as a blasting agent-air mixture. In this device, closure means, not shown in FIG. which close the input connection 27 min in the assumed current state and open a passage for the abrasive / air mixture from the input connection 27 to the output connection 28. The blasting agent is further accelerated by the hose line 11 and exits through the blasting nozzle 12 under high pressure and at high speed. As soon as the blasting agent in the blasting agent boiler 1 has dropped below the level of the sensor 14, the latter reports this state via the first electrical line 15 to the control device 29.
This closes the pressure medium control valve 6 and opens the pressure medium control valve 6 min, which is arranged on the second blasting medium boiler for 1 min. In the pressure medium control valve 6, the pressure medium supply via the first conduit 7 is blocked. Compressed air that is still present in the blasting agent boiler 1 and in the third conduit 9 is released into the open via the venting attachment 32 that has now been released. There is no longer any excess pressure in the blasting agent tank 1, the valve 3 opens and opens the filling opening 18 for refilling the blasting agent. In the meantime, the pressure medium control valve 6 minutes has caused the pressure to build up in the second blasting medium chamber 1 min, analogously to the processes described above for the blasting medium chamber 1. In the switching device 25, the input connection 27 is opened and the input connection 27 is closed.
The blasting agent now passes from the blasting agent boiler 1 min via the fourth conduit 13 min, the inlet connection 27 min to the outlet connection 28 and via the hose line 11 to the nozzle 12 without interrupting the blasting process. As soon as the sensor 14 min, the blasting agent in the blasting agent boiler 1 min to the control device 29 announces, the pressure medium control valve is closed for 6 min and the pressure medium control valve 6 is opened again. This alternating process described, in which one blasting agent tank is filled up while blasting agent for blasting is removed from the other blasting agent boiler, is repeated in an uninterrupted sequence as long as the operating switch 23 is actuated by the man at the nozzle 12.
The blasting media boilers 1, 1 min can be normal, commercially available designs. Automatic, uninterrupted sandblasting can only be achieved by retrofitting the sensors 14, 14 min of the control device 29 and the switching device 25. The control device 29 is constructed without time circuits determining the sandblasting process. The sensors 14, 14 min of the two blasting agent boilers 1, 1 min ensure the corresponding switching of the two blasting agent boilers. In any case, this takes place exactly, regardless of the pressure applied and regardless of the passage of the metering elements 5, 5 min. There are no additional elements in the blasting medium boilers, which are difficult or inaccessible in the event of a fault.
The switching device 25 can be connected to each conduit 13, 13 min from each blasting agent boiler 1, 1 min without any significant effort. Instead of the electrically acting control device 29, as was used as the basis for this exemplary embodiment, pneumatically or hydraulically operating control devices could of course also be present. The electrical cables mentioned would then have to be replaced by pneumatic or hydraulic control tubes or control hoses. The closure means arranged in the switching device 25 could be actuated, for example, via one or more control lines 30 by electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic control elements provided in the control device 29.
However, a simpler and preferred exemplary embodiment of a switching device 25, as shown in FIG. 2 and described below, does not provide such control elements. In this exemplary embodiment, the closure means arranged in the switching device 25 can be controlled directly by the compressed air supplied or not supplied via the input connections 27, 27 min.
The switching device 25 according to the invention is shown in FIG. 2 as a longitudinal section and comprises a single housing 26, preferably made of sheet steel. The housing is essentially cuboid and preferably has the two input connections 27, 27 min already mentioned on one of its two short side faces. These are arranged side by side and essentially each consist of a threaded extension extending away from the housing. In the interior of the housing, adjoining the input connections 27, 27 min, a cuboid support 38 is connected to the housing wall, for example by welding or by screwing to the input connections.
The support 38 has two through holes 39, 39 min lying next to one another, which correspond to the dimensions of the two input connections 27, 27 min and open into the interior of the housing via input openings 35, 35 min. Between the adjacent inlet openings, a flap 37 is pivotally connected to the support 38 via a pivot axis 40. The flap 37 and the support 38 together form the closure means mentioned. The flap 37 essentially comprises a disc 41, on the opposite end faces of which a layer 42, 42 min of an elastic material, preferably of rubber, is arranged. The side of these material layers 42, 42 min facing away from the pane 41 preferably have a convexly curved surface.
In the corresponding pivoting position of the flap 37, this protrudes into an oppositely designed fit 43, 43 min of one or the other of the entrance openings 35, 35 min. This ensures an optimal closure of the corresponding entrance opening.
The output connection 28 is likewise arranged in the form of a threaded connector on the side of the housing 26 opposite the input connections 27, 27 min. Since the blasting agent-air mixture enters at high speed through the respectively opened inlet opening 35, 35 min and exits again through the outlet opening 28, it is advantageous to avoid eddy and material removal on the inner wall 44 of the housing 26, the latter at least partially with a abrasive-resistant material 45, preferably made of sintered hard metal.
The flap 37 arranged so as to be pivotable functions in such a way that, due to the presence of an overpressure generated from the blasting agent-air mixture at one of the two inlet connections 27, 27 min, it is pivoted in the direction of the inlet connection not having this excess pressure and thereby the inlet opening 35 assigned to this inlet connection , Closes for 35 min. The pivoting movements of the flap 37 from one input opening to the other input opening take place in the same rhythm as the reversal of the abrasive blast kettles 1, 1 min.
The switching device 25 described is characterized by its robustness, its simple structure and the reliable mode of operation, in particular also in that there are no externally operable elements for alternately closing one of the two input connections.
