which can be brought out of the non-positive connection with the transmission bolt (10) by applying a pressure medium to a coupling piston (17) which is axially connected to them.
2. Coupling device according to claim 1, characterized in that the coupling part interacting with the clamping wedges (16) is the conical bore hub (1 5a) of a disc (15) which is connected to an end of the piston rod (14) of the ejection piston ( 12) arranged head bushing (13) is connected, the clamping wedges (16), which are provided with a correspondingly conical outer surface and seated in the coupling position on the transmission bolt (10), for the purpose of frictional engagement with the transmission bolt by a spring (18) engaging the coupling piston (17) axially in the hub (1 5a) are pressed.
3. Coupling device according to claim 2, characterized in that the spring-loaded coupling piston (17) with an inner surface which is conical in the opposite direction to the conical hub bore bears against a correspondingly conical outer surface of the clamping wedges (16), which clamping wedges (16) via a driving plate (21) when loaded of the clutch piston (17) can be moved with pressure medium out of engagement with the conical hub (usa).
The present invention relates to a coupling device on the ejector of an injection molding machine according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
The mechanically or hydraulically operated ejectors of injection molding machines have a machine-side drive part and a tool-side working part.
To remove the tool (change of shape), the two ejector parts must be separated and coupled again after installing the new tool (with a corresponding new work part). The known coupling devices for the ejector parts are usually screws or threaded rods or bayonet catches. They all have the disadvantage that they have to be coupled and uncoupled by hand.
There have recently been proposed injection molding machine systems with a device for exchanging the tool unit, which require the simplest possible separation or coupling of the working part of the ejector mounted in one tool half from or with its drive part remaining in the machine. The present invention therefore aims to provide a coupling device of the type mentioned which can be automatically engaged and disengaged.
For this purpose, the coupling device according to the invention is characterized in that tensioning means are provided which cooperate with a coupling part connected to the axially movable ejection piston of the machine-side drive part of the ejector and are non-positively connected to the transmission bolt of the tool-side working part of the ejector which is coaxial with the ejection piston Coupling pistons can be brought with a pressure medium apart from the frictional connection with the transmission bolt.
The frictional connection between the clamping means provided on the ejection piston and the transmission pin can be mechanical, e.g. B. by a spring or by a hydraulically or pneumatically actuated tensioning piston.
This tensioning piston is expediently used to apply axially movable tensioning wedges. which in cooperation with a conical sleeve attached to the working piston in or
can be brought out of friction with the transmission bolt.
Such a coupling device can be automated in a simple manner by connecting its actuating means to a control device controlling the tool change.
The invention is shown for example in the accompanying drawing; therein shows:
1 is a plan view of the tool unit of an injection molding machine with a moving and closing force engine,
Fig. 2 u. 3 on a larger scale and each in axial section, the ejector of the machine according to FIG. 1 in engagement or with the clutch device disengaged, and
Fig. 4 on a larger scale and, in axial section analogous to Fig. 2, the engaged clutch device.
In FIG. 1 the fixed mold carrier plate and 2 the movable mold carrier plate of a plastic injection molding machine guided on guide rails 3. The fixed mold carrier plate 1, to which the plasticizing and injection unit (not shown) is assigned, carries one mold half 4a, while the movable mold carrier plate 2, which is coupled to the movement mechanism 5a, which is designed as a toggle lever mechanism and can be actuated via a hydraulic device, supports the other mold half 4b wearing. The two mold halves 4a, 4b, which are detachably mounted on the mold carrier plates 1 and 2, form the tool unit of the machine which can be exchanged as a whole.
The mold half 4b arranged on the movable mold carrier plate 2 contains, in a known manner, the working part 6 of a hydraulic ejector, while the drive part 7 of this ejector is mounted on the movable mold carrier plate 2.
The working part 6 of the ejector has the usual ejector pins 9, which can be pushed into the mold cavity and fastened to a pin carrier 8 located in a chamber of the mold half 4b. A transmission pin 10, which is coaxial with the spray axis a, projects through a rear wall opening of the mold half 4b. A hydraulic cylinder 11 of the drive part 7 of the ejector is mounted on the side of the movable mold carrier plate 2 facing away from the tool. A double-acting ejection piston 12, which is coaxial with the spray axis a, is guided in the cylinder 11. The head sleeve 13 of the piston rod 14 of the ejection piston 12, which projects into a continuous recess 2a of the movable mold carrier plate 2, is provided on the front with an end plate 15 which has a hub 15a projecting into the head sleeve cavity.
The central bore of the disc 15, the diameter of which is somewhat larger than that of the transmission bolt 10, is flared in the hub 1 5a.
To cooperate with the conical surface of the hub 15a, a correspondingly conical wedge surface 16a is provided radially on the outside and part-cylindrical clamping wedges 16 corresponding radially on the inside to the transmission bolt 10. The end portion of the clamping wedges 16 facing away from the hub 1 5a is conical in the opposite direction to the wedge surface 1 6a and lies against a corresponding inner cone of a clutch piston 17 guided on the hub 1 5a in the cavity of the head sleeve 13. This clutch piston 17 is in the sense
the pressing of the clamping wedges 16 into the conical hub 1 5a by a spring 18 supported on the bottom of the head sleeve 13. Between the disk 15 and the clutch piston 17, a cylinder space 20 is connected in the head sleeve 13 via the line 19 to a hydraulic pressure source (not shown) of the machine. A driver plate 21, which engages radially in the clamping wedges 16 and in the clutch piston 17, establishes an axial movement connection of these elements.
When the injection molding machine is in operation, the coupling device 15-21 accommodated in the head sleeve 13 connects the working part 6 of the ejector with its drive part 7 as follows: The cylinder space 20 is relieved of pressure, the spring 18 via the coupling piston 17 being on the retracted transmission pin 10 of the working part 6 seated clamping wedges 16 presses into the conical disc hub 1 5a, whereby these clamping wedges 16 are pressed radially firmly onto the transmission bolt 10. Thus, a firm axial connection between the transmission pin 10 and the piston rod 14, and thus between the working part 6 and drive part 7 of the ejector, is created by frictional connection. By corresponding hydraulic action on the ejector piston 12, the ejector, i. H.
its pins 9, according to the working cycle of the machine, are pushed forward or withdrawn axially.
If the tool unit, i.e. thus the two mold halves 4a, 4b are replaced, a hydraulic pressure overcoming the force of the spring 18 is generated via the line 19 in the cylinder space 20, whereby the clutch piston 17 is correspondingly moved away from the disk 15; The clamping wedges 16 are released from their clamping position in the conical hub 15a via the driving plate 21, as a result of which the frictional connection with the transmission bolt
10 is canceled.
As a result, after the mold half 4b has been detached from the mold carrier plate 2 by a corresponding opening movement of this mold carrier plate 2 (to the right in the drawing), the drive part 7 of the ejector together with the coupling device can be separated axially from the transmission bolt 10 to the extent that the tool unit can be easily replaced together with the working part of the ejector arranged in the mold half 4b.
It goes without saying that after inserting a new tool unit, the procedure is reversed accordingly, i. H. when the clutch piston 17 is under pressure in the sense of disengaging the coupling device, the clamping wedges 16 are pushed over the transmission bolt 10 by a corresponding closing movement of the mold carrier plate 2; by relieving the clutch piston 17, the spring 18 comes into effect again and, via the tensioning wedges 16 and the conical hub 15a, again generates the desired frictional connection between the working part 6 and the drive part 7. Since the loading or unloading of the clutch piston 17 with pressure medium is simple is controllable, the whole process of separating and connecting the ejector parts 6, 7 can be automated perfectly.
