Abstract

In order to eliminate the disadvantage consisting in the apparent disappearance of a hand when the position of the small hand (S) becomes the same as that of the big hand (L), for example at 1:05, in an electrooptical analogue device for displaying the time in which the image of the short hand is no wider than the central portion of the image of the long hand, means are provided, in each of the particular positions in which the two hands become superimposed, for shifting the position of the image of the short hand by one step so as to deliver a clear and natural image which is easy to read. It is however advantageous not to apply this special measure to that one of the said particular positions which consists in 12:00. The subject of the invention finds an advantageous application in the field of electronic wristwatches with analogue display with no moving parts. <IMAGE>
